After long overseas flight and a long layover I decided I needed a drink. Found this place that served both drinks and some food. Had a Heineken (medium) and an apple bandit cider, never heard of it, but it was fantastic. And the small pizza hear was tasty. Great little stop to refuel for your flight.

Avoid at all costs, the food I got which was reheated in a microwave came freezing in the middle. I then saw one of the staff use their unwashed hand to pick up food to add to a dish. Guaranteed an upset stomach the next day. It’s one of the few non-bread options and could be good but it’s disgusting.

This review is for Frames Bar&Bites at Amsterdam Airport. There were 8 of us with 16 vouchers worth €7 each, going for a snack. We ordered some sandwiches and drinks, and the waitress charged us over €50 in addition to the vouchers. We thought it was odd, but we couldn't check the bill until we paid, which was when she gave us the receipt. She had done it wrong. She undercounted 5 vouchers and added one more sandwich, for a total of €45 more. She told us she couldn't refund the vouchers or the money, but that we could eat and drink as much as we wanted. We ate and ordered coffees and another orange juice. There was no more juice, but they insisted (not just the waitress who served us, but the other two employees, male and female) that we could eat and drink whatever we wanted. The problem was that we didn't want anything else, and we were already in a hurry to board. During the discussion, they told us that if we had paid in cash, there would be no problem, but that credit card payments couldn't be refunded. Until we realized the other person in our group had paid in cash... we told them, and they had no more excuses. They refunded us €45. We were almost scammed... with the excuse that the system wouldn't let them refund us anything... I asked for their names, because if they hadn't refunded us (even if we had paid by card, it was their fault) I would have reported them for fraud. They refused to give it to me.

I visited this place after deciding not to wait 45 minutes for an opening at Lounge 41 in Amsterdam Airport. I must say, I enjoyed my experience here. Although the food was mediocre, the restaurant was vacant, and the service was great. It’s worth noting that you have to order your food at the register first and then find a vacant seat. If you just sit at the bar (which I initially did), you’ll be met with a very long wait.

The East Bar & Bites outlet on B concourse in Amsterdam's airport — also called Big Bites & Beer — would be a good place for a weary and jet-lagged international traveler to slake her or his thirst with good Heineken beer. Except for one thing: when we arrived at this place, there was a line of people who seemed to be buying take-out items, with a sign over the line saying it was a take-out line. To be sure we were doing the right thing, we asked a man sitting at the bar if we needed to get in line or if we could sit down and have the bartenders take our order. He told us the latter was normal, that the bartenders routinely served people sitting down at the bar. We did just that, only to be told very rudely by a man who seemed to be the manager that we were supposed to stand in the take-out line and order there. So we did that, with the man who had told us we could sit down apologizing to us and saying that same bartender had been serving others who sat down at the bar. We stood in line, got our glasses of Heineken, sat down, and the man who had rudely told us to stand in line then came up and served two people who sat down beside us. Rules that apply to some customers should apply to all customers. The essence of discrimination is to treat some people in a group differently from others in a group with no reason for the distinction. Why that man chose to discriminate against us, I don't know. But after that experience, I'd advise anyone seeking to have a glass of something cold and/or a sandwich at Big Bites & Beer in Amsterdam airport to look elsewhere. It's no fun experiencing discrimination of any kind, let alone the blatant kind we experienced at Big Bits & Beer/

The food is tasty and it is worth it. The service is terrible.... too slow ( it is an airport) and absolutely no kindness. Just order, take your bill... that is it. It took us 8 min to wait for somebody to take our order at the cashier... and the place was not even full. A service courtesy training to the people attending would do wonders to the place.

Wow, what a huge shock coming to this place. You order from the bar and then pay once you leave. They charge you more than what is on the menu ...order a rum and coke, you have to pay for the rum separately. Hideously overpriced space, ripping off transit passengers. I won't bother with this place again. Would rather drink water than their overpriced drinks

This place is away from the main restaurants so was much quieter. Service was ok, the large poke bowl is fairly expensive, but big enough to share. Ours was odd with warm rice but super cold, borderline frozen salmon, which just didn't taste right, so we left most of it. I would stick to just drinks here.

My husband and I were looking so forward to a good cup of coffee. The coffee we got was bitter as gall. My husband asked for them to pour some out and dilute it. The two staff members behind the counter looked at him as though he had stepped off mars. The coffee was still bad and so was mine, so bad so, that we couldn’t drink it. I thought it was poor customer relations in still charging full price. The staff were unfriendly and not interested

Not overly friendly service where you buy a bottle of Prosecco and: 1. It dumped in front of you, unopened (your drink your job?) 2. you get wine glasses and need to ask for Prosecco ones 3. you need to ask for the bucket of ice because it’s not given to you Honestly I am baffled. What a mess they serve here! A real tourist trap! Ordered a poke bowl. You get a lukewarm bowl of rice with some peas, seaweed sludge, and tasteless salmon. But don't you dare say you don't like it, because then the lame management will turn on you. They don't really care about it. What a terribly bad store this is. Sad bar and terrible service! Bah. I recommend never going here, horribly bad food, it's pure deceit.

Felt like I got cheated . Paid 17.50 euros for a small salmon bowl that was filled to the brim with rice which is not even Japanese rice, half a SLICE of avocado and only 5 pathetic pieces of salmon. Would have abit expected more. Service is hard to get even with the bar empty.

Most salty ramen noodles and the sushi is terrible. The rice is so hard and you can tell it’s been frozen over night. Service is equally terrible. Server named Hus lied and told us there was no tap water. 2 minutes later another server brought tap water to the table next to us. Avoid this place.

Amsterdam Schiphol is one of the busiest airports in Europe. I visited mid week in September, when the queues for security were ridiculous, and I had several hours to kill. Therefore I was wandering around, and followed the signs to the panorama terrace. I found a nearly empty area on the roof of the airport, with an excellent view of the gates and taxiways. A few long-lens plane spotters were snapping the movements, and some other lost souls were enjoying the sun and various benches dotted around. I also went into the attached bar. I think this has only recently reopened, since it was still being renovated, and the staff seemed very surprised to have a customer! Most of the patrons appeared to be airport employees using it as an unofficial office. I had an acceptable Cappuccino, and two tasty beers, and very much enjoyed the quiet. If you are looking for somewhere quiet away from the crowds, with fantastic views, I recommend a visit.
