Well, what can I say, amazing. We had lunch. Yesterday I had tuna melt, delicious.

Parking is very difficult, but once you get there, it is a very good thing. Many drink choices and a large selection of vegetarian dishes. There are also always generous amounts of sauce with them. Had my second tea? No cookie left.

Beautiful, atmospheric eatery with super friendly service and delicious food. The XXL carpaccio and the Ouwe Blauwe burger were truly delicious, and for dessert, the dessert platter was a delight. And that, combined with the beautiful view over the harbor, makes this a place we will definitely be returning to.

Good food. The mussels were tasty, as was the chicken satay. We sat on the back terrace. It is a pity that the glass with beams obstructs the view. The service was okay, but a bit inexperienced. Unfortunately, there was a large group of noisy guests next to us when we were there. But there is nothing you can do about that. Definitely recommended for a meal during a visit to Monnickendam.

Been here 4 times now, with reservations but also once unexpectedly. Really sweet girls, nice atmosphere, and good, generous portions. The fish platter is actually a starter but so generous that it becomes a main course for us. But the main courses are top-notch too. Tastes fantastic. Highly recommended.

We made a special request to the chef to see if we could pick up food because my wife is terminally ill. An exception was made for us, and everything was taken care of perfectly, packed in spacious containers with recommended oven, microwave, and cooking times. A thousand thanks! It was delicious, and thanks for thinking along with us!

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, we had an unforgettable day with both our families at your conservatory. Everything was arranged perfectly. So, a solid ten out of ten! Highly recommended for celebrating such parties!

There are places where you simply eat, and then there's Ouwe Blauwe, where you come to feel and enjoy a complete experience. From the first contact, we knew it would be special: we booked by email, requesting a table by the window, and the response was as friendly as it was efficient: "You can count on it." They kept their word, providing us with the perfect setting for an unforgettable dinner. The location is prime, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. You only need to glance at the clientele to confirm what we already suspected: it's a sure thing. As for the food, words fail me, but I'll try to describe it: it's exquisite. Each dish exudes the flavor of freshly prepared ingredients and maximum freshness. Our dinner was a parade of sensations: The Fish Trio and the Eel on toast are an ode to the sea. The warm goat cheese and the wild mushroom croquettes have a balance of textures and flavors that's on another level. When it came to dessert, the quality didn't drop: the chocolate truffles with homemade cream are addictive, the white chocolate and raspberry cake is pure delicacy, and the Cheesecake (cake of the week) was the perfect ending to the evening. The service deserves special mention. If I could give them a 20 out of 10, I would. The service borders on perfection, worthy of a Michelin star for its professionalism and warmth. I'm not trying to sell anything, I'm just sharing my experience: if you're looking for a place to truly savor and experience the flavors, this is it. A must-visit. Authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and world-class service. A must-visit in the area!

A superb restaurant in the heart of Monnickendam harbor. A well-crafted dinner menu. I had the Thai beef, while my partner opted for the ribs. Both dishes were generous, with perfectly balanced flavors and high-quality ingredients. Excellent service, delivered with a smile and a friendly atmosphere. We had a wonderful time!

Used to be the departure for the Ferry to the island of Marken Now completely modernized, but still excellent views over the Gouwzee lake. The city of Monnickendam is less touristic and more beautiful than nearby Volendam.

Had a wonderful lunch with two colleagues. We went here because I could order a delicious midday snack: soup, a carpaccio or tuna salad sandwich, and a croquette sandwich. Perfect!!

Spacious cafe near the marina and the center of Monnickendam. Large covered terrace outside, reminiscent of a conservatory. Service was prompt despite the crowds.

After an afternoon of sailing, we went here for dinner with the whole family. It was quite busy; the place was packed, even the terrace. Despite that, the service was adequate. Everyone shares their meals, but you just get an extra plate. A wonderful and delicious way to end the family day.

Always a pleasant experience here. It's charmingly decorated by the harbor, with several indoor areas and a lovely terrace. The staff are friendly, spontaneous, and service-oriented. The food is always good, beautifully presented, and more than enough. The shared fish lunch was delicious.

Highly recommended. The food is very good and plentiful at a very good price. The service is attentive and friendly. We had lunch one day, and when we returned for dinner the next day, they were fully booked, but they did their best to make room for us. They also have a highchair for babies.

We visited the restaurant on an August afternoon and easily found a table outside. The menu is extensive and offers good options for vegetarians; I opted for the Portobello and my partner opted for the fish & chips. Both the food and drinks arrived promptly. The service was very friendly, and the staff spoke Dutch, English, and a little German. Paying by card was easy. One minor criticism is that some birds were searching the tables for food scraps and defecating there; our Tosch was also affected. This may be normal on the waterfront, but the tables could have been cleaned more often. Apart from that, I was very satisfied.

A very pleasant setting, and the homemade moules frites are a must-order specialty 🍽😛 The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they even speak a few words of French 😉 But English is still recommended for a good understanding. A restaurant that's definitely worth the detour 😃👌

Very nice shop, located by the water. The staff was very friendly. We had to wait a little longer for our food (which we didn't really notice). The staff approached us and thanked us for our patience and brought us each a free drink (we were allowed to choose what we wanted).

Really good food. Ordered fish plate which came with Dutch shrimps with pairing sauce, tuna salad, tomato soup, Tempura Shrimps with a pairing sauce which was delicious and smoked salmon. Everything great. The forest ginger tea was also really good which came with a mini stroopwafel. Had ordered some fries too but took really long to come, nevertheless it was so yummy.

The restaurant and terrace were full. Luckily we had made a reservation for 13 people. The food was good, (everyone could order alacarte). The service was very friendly and professional and we didn't have to wait long for our food. In short: TOP!

Great atmosphere and delicious food

First you got a lot of salad and now very little. That's why I ordered extra salad but received a tiny microscopic bowl of lettuce. I think that's a shame! Lettuce is very tasty and important!

Went for dinner with the four of us on Saturday evening. Discussion necessary. Nice place, good atmosphere, nice service. In addition to the normal menu, they also have a menu with specials. We started with picking bread with aioli and herb butter. Delicious bread but quite salty. Tuna carpaccio and steak tartare were chosen as starters. The tuna carpaccio wasn't very much. The steak tartare was delicious, nicely prepared and sufficient. As a main course, the entrecote medium rare from the specials. Well baked and big enough. As side dishes: fries, peeled potatoes and salad. Service regularly refilled the glasses. Tasty scroppino. Tasty lady blanche that had been given attention. Of the panna cota with liqueur 43, the liqueur 43 was not really tasted. After this was said, some liqueur 43 was added. Good restaurant.

We showed up with a group of 7 and no booked table and got flexible service, good food and drinks in a nice setting. All our menus where very good, except the burger - that had a very dry bun and not very tasty patty. Nevertheless a very good dinner experience.

Nice and attractive cafe. I chose the tuna carpaccio and then venison steak. The tuna was very cold, so you couldn't taste it very well. The slightly too large amount of sesame seeds was too dominant in my opinion. The venison steak was good, tasty and cooked just right. I didn't like the sauce so I left it alone. For dessert I had Tiramisu, which was really disappointing. Way too dry and a lot of mascarpone. The wine choice is limited. All in all, I wouldn't go there a second time. I think the price is too high for the quality. But I did have a nice evening.
