We had a wonderful meal. There's a three-course menu with delicious, beautifully presented dishes, and the price-quality ratio is simply perfect. A bread board and a cheese board can be added. The menu changes weekly. A fair price for delicious food. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. The restaurant exudes a pleasant, cozy, homey atmosphere, yet there's enough privacy and distance between tables for a romantic dinner or a convivial gathering with friends. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return.

Marga Zwarthoed always surpasses herself with her delicious menus. We can't live without this restaurant anymore. Niels pours the most delicious and truly excellent wines. And the atmosphere among the staff is excellent and exudes hospitality. In short, highly recommended. Star quality for a modest price.

We had dinner here last Saturday with our group of friends. It was a great evening. Nice and beautiful ambiance. Clean glasses, delicious beers and nice wines. Staff very friendly, host knows his trade and has a lot of knowledge of the beers and wines. The chef has her kitchen under control down to the last detail. Delicious three course dinner. If we are in the area we will definitely come back! Gem of Monnickendam and surroundings.

Great tasty food and friendly staff!

We came there pretty late and the kitchen was already closed. They let us stay for a drink and even though we stayed just for an hour - the experience we had was amazing. The owner served us by himself, telling so much about wine they have, the vineyards. Then he came and offered a cheeseboard as he was worried that the kitchen was already closed. Both wine and cheeseboard were amazing and the service exceeded our expectations. Many Michelin star restaurants should learn from this restaurant about hospitality ❤️

We happened to come across this wonderful restaurant when we stayed in Monnickendam recently. What a treat and a lucky find -the food was absolutely Amazing!! The whole atmosphere was wonderful, from the really friendly and well informed staff, to the beautiful simple yet elegant surroundings, would highly recommend this gorgeous restaurant. They just serve 1 menu, but every single thing we ate was superb, the flavours, the presentation and the combination of the wine pairing made this a very special place to spend a night. It was the best value we had in The Netherlands because of the quality. Don't pass this one if you are staying in the area!!!

Delicious food in a beautiful restaurant. Owners Niels and Marga run the business with great passion in an old building in the center of Monnickendam. Marga produces delicious and surprising combinations in her carefully composed fixed menu, which changes every week. Niels, as a budding sommelier, will guide the evening with stories about the accompanying wines. Alternating with the fantastic service, explanations are given about each dish served. The atmosphere is casual and open. This makes the open kitchen stand out even more.

Marga and her team know how to create a fantastic atmosphere. Every time we have been here has been a real treat. The reception is friendly and welcoming. The room is light and cozy. The dining experience is a feast. Every other week they’re offering a new menu. Beautifully presented dishes and even more important, very tasty, with plenty of layers of taste combinations and sensations. Fresh ingredients and everything is skillfully prepared. Vanavond was weer een heerlijk avondje uit bij Restaurant Zwarthoed. Hier wordt je als gast nog echt in de watten gelegd. Een heerlijk, wekelijks wisselend, drie gangenmenu, met bijpassende wijnen. We hebben er van genoten. Het hele team hartelijk bedankt.

Sfeervol restaurant én in het prachtige nostalgische Monnickendam. Een fijne en fantastisch plek om je smaakpupillen te verwennen. Verrassende keuken met een bijzondere concept. Je hoeft geen menu te kiezen er wordt elke week een bijzondere keuze door de keuken bedacht. De gerechten zijn geweldig van kwaliteit en erg goed. De zeer mooie en bijpassende wijnen worden goed uitgelegd door de kundige eigenaar! Vriendelijk personeel maken het plaatje compleet. Een aanrader voor iedereen die van kwaliteit en smaak houdt!

We zijn heel blij dat Marga haar droom in Monnickendam op deze bijzondere locatie heeft waar gemaakt! Wat een aanwinst. De gastvrijheid, attente bediening en ambiance in combinatie met de heerlijke gerechten en prachtige wijnen staan garant voor een waar feestje!

Bij zwarthoed is het altijd genieten! Geweldige gerechten met altijd de juiste combinatie! Iedere week een ander menu met liefde samen gesteld. Ook als lactose vrij meisje altijd goede ervaringen.

Heerlijk eten met goede bijpassende dranken. Enorme aanrader! Het weekmenu verschilt, dus het is even goed kijken of je alles lust. Indien het menu bijvoorbeeld uit alleen maar vis bestaat terwijl je dit niet lust dan kan je dit aangeven en is een aanpassing mogelijk. Zeer vriendelijk een prettig personeel. Nogmaals heerlijk eten op goed niveau. Zeer goede prijs tot kwaliteit.

Wij hebben een super leuke team dinner gehad bij Zwarthoed. Vanaf de reservering goed geholpen met dieetwensen. Bij binnenkomst hartelijk ontvangen en een super leuke avond gehad en heerlijk gegeten 😍!!

Een topavond gehad!!! Wat een mooie smaken, elke gang was een feestje op je bord, vergezeld van heerlijke wijnen. Zelfs als er dingen op het menu staan die je niet zelf zou kiezen weet de kok het zo op smaak te brengen dat je verlangt naar meer. Vriendelijke en persoonlijke bediening. Echt een aanrader. In tijden niet zo lekker gegeten.

Het is absoluut een goed restaurant, maar de smaken spatten er niet allemaal vanaf. Het is absoluut wel een aanwinst voor de omgeving.

Gisterenavond gegeten bij Zwarthoed. Een waar feestje. Bediening is heel vriendelijk en gastvrij en heeft er de hele avond duidelijk zin in. Het eten is echt voortreffelijk, hele fijne verrassende smaken, gecombineerd met verrukkelijke wijnen. Het is voor ons niet in de buurt anders gingen we volgende week terug.

One of the highlights of the area. Zwarthoed has an amazing interior which immediatly makes you feel at home. They serve a weekly menu so not much to choose, but every week the chef manages to amaze with a solid michelin worthy menu. Check their instagram for the current menu, but trust me when i say..ITS ALWAYS GREAT! 9,5/10
