Friendly staff, from the waitstaff to the chef and hostess. The food was exactly as pictured. Excellent! We ordered the lamb and chicken dishes, even though it was 1:00 AM. Definitely worth coming back.

The restaurant caught our attention as we walked past, so we spontaneously decided to eat there. We were very pleasantly surprised by the very friendly service, the delicious food, and the reasonable prices for central Amsterdam.

Amazing hostess, Amber, amazingly energetic, that too at 11 15 pm. Has Indian, surinameese, Indonesian, and Dutch ancestry. Told her she has got the best from each place.

We received a very warm welcome at this family business by the son. We took a lovely seat on the terrace🍸🍸in the end we opted for the pizzas, 'Seafood / Marinara' Vegetarian 🍕🍕 Three weeks ago I ate here for the very first time, even though I have been cycling past it for 15 years ... No regrets at all🥰 I must admit that I have not eaten such a tasty 🍕 here in North before🤩 Finally discovered a good address, I heard from the host that they are going to close because their son graduated 'Biology' and is looking for a good job elsewhere and his parents who run the kitchen🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳 are going to take it a bit easier. Too bad for us😒 Before then, I will definitely come back and try other dishes🥩🍗🥗🥘🍲🍟🍔

I ordered the chicken dish with mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and green peppers with teriyaki sauce. It came with a side of rice, a side of vegetables, and a small salad. The portion sizes are great. They’re enough for me for two meals. It also came with a little bit of bread. I always get take away. The chicken dish is delicious. It has great flavor, just enough sauce, and the vegetables are fresh.

Very tasty food, excellent service, friendly people. The cat “owning” the area and the big blue bird visiting the terrace were a pleasant surprise and made the ambiance even more friendly. Love it. Highly recommend it if you have the chance to be in neighbourhood.

The accompanying sauces—a three-pepper and a mushroom sauce—added depth to the dish, with the mushroom sauce being my favorite. The crispy French fries on the side were a great complement. Overall, Eetcafe Number One delivers delicious food in a warm atmosphere, making it a solid choice for a late-night meal. Highly recommended!

Ate here last night (Saturday night) with a mate. It was after 10pm & it's our first night on our trip to the Netherlands from the UK. There weren't o many places open this side of the water & we stumbled across the Eetcafe and it looked pretty good inside. Gentleman serving at the bar was hospitable & polite. The menu was massive but we both went for pizza dishes and a beer each. Can honestly say it sorted us both out after a long day of travelling. Would certainly recommend - a decent experience with good food in a chilled & unpretentious atmosphere.

We arrived very late, almost 1am, and it was still open. They served us very well and we ate a delicious, warm pizza, half gorgonzola and half spinach. The beer was good and at a more affordable price compared to the restaurants in the center.

It was amazing experience! The food was delicious and they made it quickly! Also waitress, her name was Amber, was very nice with us and did everything, so we could feel the same as at home.

I'm genuinely astounded by this place! The food was amazing, as well as service; special thanks to our waitress Amber. Chicken Calzon was mind-blowingly scrumptious! Despite a modest exterior, you should definitely try it out!

Great food, it's a pity that they are now stealing money for the second time, even if it is €2,= extra herb butter does not mean that we no longer need it from the sandwiches, right!? And I don't know if the bag fell, but the food didn't look good, the bread tastes burnt and I didn't have 2 rolls, but 2 half-crazy pieces that were leftover I think and way too salty, what happened, this was my best, tastiest restaurant

I was the 3rd time here within one month. Really delicious and for Amsterdam standards cheap. Regarding all the extras you get if you order a grilled dish (which is really tasty), it´s nearly perfect. Thank´s a lot. Whenever I´ll be in Amsterdam I´ll happy to be guest in your restaurant again.

Wat een gezellige fijne eettent is number one. Goed en veel eten, echt waar voor je geld. Je krijgt gratis broodje met kruidenboter en de extra mayonaise werd niet doorberekend! We gaan zeker nog eens terug.

We were welcomed by a kind staff member who showed us to the table. We sat outside and ordered pizzas. The prices are fair and the pizza left us very satisfied.

Hier met een groep van 7 buiten op het terras gegeten. En enkele collega’s hebben hier eerder deze week meerdere keren gegeten al. Vriendelijke bediening en lekker eten. Een prima eetcafé voor even wat eten als je niet uitgebreid de tijd hebt en zeker een aanrader. Veel beter dan het eten van ons tegenoverliggende NH hotel waar we in verbleven
