Just happened to walk past this restaurant and came in. GREAT service , HUGE portions, and it’s delicious! There are so many options on the menu and the amount of food you’re getting for the price is unbelievable! Wish I lived closer, this would definitely be a regular spot.

The best coffee in Amsterdam, and the service is excellent. The girl is very patient with tourists, explains things very well, and is very friendly. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed, ideal for escaping the cold. 100% recommended!

I had such a lovely experience at Eetcafé Roem! It’s a small and cozy spot in Jordaan with a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. And the pancakes were absolutely delicious — fluffy, perfectly made, and full of flavor. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy a slow moment in Amsterdam. Highly recommended!

Small but very nice restaurant near Anne Frank house. Sandwiches are great and big, more than enough for one person. We had mozzarela, pesto, tomatoe sandwiche and chicken, bacon, mozzarella sandwich. Don't miss it. Mango juice was also very nice.

I never write reviews, but this place really deserves it. Honestly, it’s the best sandwich I’ve ever had — absolutely delicious! The people are super friendly, and the prices are great. Everything was just… perfect.

We stopped by this place because of the view of the canal. The location was nice but that was about it. First of all the waiter was very RUDE. The food was ok. When I went to the loo I walked inside the restaurant and everyone (staff, owner maybe?)were there and they were just so UNFRIENDLY. The staircase was very dangerous. The bathroom cleanliness is questionable. The worst, I got very SICK and had DIARRHEA all day the next day.

Very friendly and accommodating! Fast, affordable, and very good food. We were here with family and were greeted and served so warmly and courteously. The dishes were served very quickly and were delicious. The family knows what they're doing and puts their heart and soul into it. Highly recommended!

Just for your info…. Average Price for 1 Liter Beer on the Oktoberfest in Munich 2026 is about 17€. ROEM charges 12,50€ for 0,5 Liters which sums up to 25€ per Liter beer. Enjoy!

Eetcafé Roem might not seem like much (hence its 3-star rating due to the atmosphere), but it offers a lot for lunch. There's a wide selection of dishes, and what we chose (three different toasted sandwiches and a bacon pancake) was all delicious and generously filled. The staff is very friendly, and because everything is freshly prepared, you can easily request special requests. The prices are also reasonable, so we would definitely return.

We bought toasties and sandwiches and they were packed so fully it was delicious. We were in a hurry for the Anne Frank museum and we informed the owner - we felt bad to be rushing them but they were so accommodating and the food came out quickly. She even offered to pack them. Grateful for this little cafe and their service 🙏

We were on holiday in Amsterdam and we stumbled across this eye catching wonderful looking restaurant. Their service was amazing and food was very tasty. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

A very good experience in this small, unpretentious restaurant, but probably the best value for money of our stay in Amsterdam. The club sandwiches are excellent and outrageously generous (for smaller stomachs, count on one club sandwich for two people). A 3-minute walk from the Anne Frank Museum in a very pleasant neighborhood.

Snacked after a 2-hour guided tour on the theme of "Anne Frank". Normal welcome without water 😐. Panequake good, nothing more, more like a large pancake. If you're really hungry, yes, or you can find better, but in the neighborhood the prices are high. Go A+ on the bus 😉

Although it was a small cafe, it had a great atmosphere. The omelet was fluffy and the balance of ingredients was perfect! It went perfectly with the beer, and I was very satisfied. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable, so I enjoyed a relaxing time. I'd love to go again!

The menu includes sandwiches, salads, pancakes, and a few full dishes. You can eat quite well, although without culinary delights. The portions are large. The toilet is down the stairs, rather neglected.

We spontaneously visited the Roem, it is practically next to the Tulip Museum. Since the weather was first class, you had the option of sitting directly in front of the entrance (approx. 8 seats) or the option of sitting directly opposite (once crossing the lane of the Prinsengracht) of the cafe directly on the canal. We were so to speak "lured" as we walked past by noticing the club sandwiches :-) ...in short, took a seat and a) ate one of the best sandwiches ever, had a cold beer with it and experienced super-friendly service from all the employees there. Don't forget, it's a metropolis...so it's not "cheap" to snack somewhere in Amsterdam. We would come back, even if there are no seats outside, the interior also made an inviting impression.

It wasn't very good. At the time they charged us, they wanted to charge a little more than double until I realized and counted the prices according to the menu. I think they were trying to rob us. If you're a tourist, you have to be very careful. If you live in Amsterdam W like us, you already know how it works.

Be careful, they change the price when you go to pay.

Wow, the portion is huge! One club sandwich is enough for 2 people, especially if you’re not a big eater! That said, the chicken sandwich is super flavorful and the bread is perfectly toasted! 🥪🔥🍗🍞👌

The terace is the only highlight of the place, the rest is a typical mediocre place for tourists where they don’t even make an effort to provide good service. Well I guess it is what it is in the center.

Crazy prices example 0.5l of heniken €9.95 where are we? Very low quality food. I don't recommend it.

This cafe was recommended to me when I enquired about having a Dutch breakfast. I had the Dutch pancakes with ham, apple and goat cheese for breakfast and it was delicious. The sever was very helpful and attentive and I am glad I went there.

Worst experience ever. The waiter served us but didnt tell us they were closing soon. (Even though google says another time) Then they basically threw us out while we were still eating. Then he gave himself a tip from our money. Also they were coughing all the time.

Come for Dutch waffles with Nutella and bananas It’s so delicious, there are two kinds 1) Whole waffle, 2) Small waffle I chose 2, the structure is firm and chewy, super awesome The weather was very cold, so I ordered a bowl of onion soup Very delicious! Nice terrace on a busy bicycle street (watch out when crossing!). Too bad they didn't have what we wanted such as steak or chicken satay. Finally chose the schnitzel and a pancake. Hubby got a lot with the schnitzel. Unfortunately, there was no pineapple on my pancake, only bacon. A beautiful location with a lot to see.

Visited this cafe many a time over my trip in March with my sister. Amazing selection of food and drink, both of which were very delicious. The prices were were fairly reasonable, so it meant we could try a couple of dishes every visit. However, my personal favourites were the beef croquettes and the prawn croquettes. They were so yummy (missing Amsterdam purely for those alone) and the tomato soup was a big hit for myself and my sister. The garlic bread was also as you’d expect. Unbelievably tasty. We visited at least once a day during our 4 day stay, and eventually we became familiar with the staff who were always there to serve us with kindness and a smile and always with a little lollipop as we left 🍭. They even gave us some extra lollies and some water for free for our trip back to the airport 🥺 we were so sad to leave our new favourite little cafe behind. This is the perfect spot on a cold, rainy day, and served us both well when the Dutch weather was at times not so pleasant. Plenty of comforting and cozy meals to warm you up in the chilly weather. ❄️☁️ Thank you to the staff who made our trip so special…will definitely be returning when we are next back in the Netherlands. ❤️

Mega delicious pancakes, my wife is really excited about the one with goat cheese, honey, walnuts and thyme. Incredibly great service, nice, friendly and helpful. A passer-by just wanted to take shelter for a moment to wait for his girlfriend and he was offered to sit down and bought him a coffee. Where is there something like that?! Gladly again!

How lovely! The waiters were so friendly and pleasant and the food was delicious. My son wasn't eating and one waiter was so kind as to bring him a handful of juicy big strawberries as a little treat. So sweet!
