I used to order here almost twice a week and the food was always tasty. Delivery used to be fast too. Lately, however, the delivery has been truly awful. You get a notification that the order is on its way after about 15 minutes, but then you still have to wait almost an hour and a half. Today I ordered at 23:48 and it is now 1:35 and I still haven't received my order. I called the restaurant and was only told that the order is "on its way". The restaurant is 1km away Too bad, because the food is good, but the service has been very bad lately. This is the last time I will order here.

The owner knows exactly what I want to eat. Delicious chicken breast & tasty potato slices! Always good quality & welcoming! A nice cup of tea and baklava after the meal finishes it off!

I've been coming here for years but recently they did something that was over the top incredible - had to leave a review. I ordered them for delivery. It was Sat night around midnight. 1 item was a vegetarian sandwich. The food arrives, the vegetarian sandwich is filled with chicken - a bummer. Almost immediately my phone rings, its them, calling to say they put the wrong item in the bag, and will send a new, free, vegetarian sandwich ASAP. It arrived in less than 10 minutes! usually id have to fight, call, text, battle, and deal with so much bullshit - but they called me! never happend in my life. absolutely incredible care of customers. love this place, BEST KIPDONER IN TOWN

Food was 2/5 adana kabab was very dry and tasted like a dirty grill Salad was old all vegetables were softened Lentil soup was good tbh✨ I haven’t been there so I give a 5✨ to atmosphere Hopefully this review becomes helpful and their quality get better ☀️

Great place, delicious chicken shawarma

Ate a really good shawarma again after a long time. The bread was deliciously crispy, well-filled, and the meat was tender and full of flavor. The staff were friendly and you feel welcome right away. Luckily, I have found my regular shawarma place in Amsterdam. Until next time! 🥳 What a treat!

The food is not good, the portions are small and expensive. The service is decent, the place is very bad, the tables in poor condition, there is no adequate ventilation and very noisy. I don't recommend this place.

Best durum kip doner in town! I did try alot... Guys working there are always pleasant and nice! Chicken doner, soup, kebab, freshly grilled meat is always exciting expectations. I feel so glad I can back come back to this place every time late night (after 03:00) and get the same quality food and a nice cup of tea.

This place gets 5 stars on service alone. Incredibly welcoming, free baklava, free tea and all round incredibly friendly staff. The food is exactly what you would expect it to be, hearty food when you need a stomach lining after being out for a few beverages. 0 complaints.

If I could have given this place 10 stars, I would have. The price-quality ratio was better than the Dutch economy could ever have dreamed of. Amidst a whole mouthful of substance-less bullshit that you expect in this area, this was the best experience we have had! Just grabbing some fries on King's Day, and being able to sit down immediately without any hassle, the fries arrived right away! We ate and enjoyed ourselves immensely; top class!

Ordered twice. The first time there were insects in the food. The second time they said they had delivered, but the delivery hadn't arrived. Picked up once; very dirty restaurant. Cockroaches and rats were running through the place. NEVER AGAIN

Food arrived only after 2 hours unfortunately

Yesterday, I ordered through Thuiszorgd with my colleague at 7:40 PM. There was a 40-minute wait. After an hour and a half, I called, and the person on the phone said the delivery person was on his way. A total of an hour and a half later, it arrived. My adana and fries were very soft and cold. My colleague had cold izgara kofte with cold rice that crackled when chewed. There was only one piece of bread, which we shared between the two of us. I have to be honest, the garlic sauce was delicious, but otherwise, it was outrageous!

Ordered a half chicken doner and half lamb shawarma: - Fries, half fried, not enough salt. - Little of the chicken doner was present in what I was served. - Lamb shawarma, served as a soggy mess without the crispy crust you'd expect. YUCK!

One of the best places I had in Amsterdam. Barbaros’s hospitality was incredible, from his explanation of the different dishes to the kind hosting and complimentary tea and baklava. The food was amazing, excellent lamb meat and delicious künefe. We were full and still ordered more!

As a taxi driver, I eat everywhere in Amsterdam, but at Ali Baba, it always feels like coming home. The owner is fantastic—always friendly, genuine, and he makes everyone feel welcome. You can see that in everything: the food, the atmosphere, the service. The lentil soup remains my favorite, and the grilled dishes are always fresh and delicious. I've been coming here for years, and every time I leave with a smile. Respect for the owner and his team—truly top-notch!

But what really stood out was the warm and friendly service — the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. When you receive a very friendly welcome at 1 a.m., receive kind service, are offered tea on the house, and the doner is also incredibly delicious, this has to be the best shawarma place in town. It felt like walking into a five-star hotel. Inspiring for a shawarma place. Wow!

This place is top-notch. My go-to after a night out. If you're really brave, go for the turbo. I have to warn you... it's challenging, but if you can finish it... the meat is good, the bread is excellent, and the sauce is super tasty. The salsa is what sets this place apart. I'm a proud Turbo fan myself and dare say I can do it. I challenge anyone to try it. It's not for everyone. While waiting for your meal, you'll be offered tea. Try it!

The food was fine. It's a shame about the rude waitress, especially if you just want a quick bite; it completely ruins your mood. When I asked, confused, if something was wrong, I only received an even worse attitude.

We have ordered 4 kapsalons. We have received 8 boxes with minced (not kebab meat) meat, fries and salad in separate boxes. Definatelly not kapsalon, not just in shape, but also in taste (to be very nice here). We called restaurant asking “what is this” and if it’s a mistake, but all they told us was it’s how they did it for years. We trashed everything into a bin. Inedible. :(

Food never received tonight. Been 2 hours since I ordered and €57 euros taken from account. No help from live chat, I am gutted and currently waiting for something else to be ordered. My wife ordered two shawarma kebabs, they had no taste , very small, I asked for chicken but they added lamb inside together with chicken. The veggies were small and also the meats. As if we didn’t pay but begged for it. Even people that begged will definitely get a meal than we paid for. 24 euros wasted 😭💔💔💔💔

Yesterday ordered lamb shawarma dish with rice and fries. Shawarma had no taste and was watery. Fries were boiled instead of fried. Onion sauce was without onions. Rice garlic sauce was ok. Salad was good. Delivery was reasonably fast. No photo unfortunately. First time ordered here but never again!! 25 euros thrown away. Shameful.

Imagine, you want to try a kapsalon with rice, but think hmm that's not right. DO IT, it's super tasty, plus the service is good and the delivery time was only 20 minutes from the moment of ordering. All in all ali baba is the place for your late night snack.

Worth for the price and quantity

Last night I ordered a Kapsalon chicken shawarma at 1.30 am, and 20 minutes later a very friendly courier was at my door with my order. The hair salon was lovely as usual; large, well filled and with extra sauce. I was also able to pay him in cash! Highly recommended for an 'emergency' on a Saturday night ;).
