Marmaris Restaurant Hoekenrode in Bijlmer Centrum (D,F,H)

I want to warn other guests who need to avoid specific ingredients for health reasons. During our visit, a main course turned out to be very spicy, even though this was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. Because I absolutely cannot tolerate pepper due to health issues, I reported this to the wait staff immediately after just one bite and sent the dish back. The waiter offered an alternative, during which I explicitly stated that I cannot eat pepper. To my surprise, the replacement dish actually contained a large amount of black pepper. As a result, I could not eat this dish either and experienced physiological symptoms (pain in the stomach area and severe hot flashes). I then indicated that I did not wish to order any other dish. However, the owner demanded that we still pay for the first dish, justifying that two dishes had to be thrown away. Out of inconvenience and under pressure from the situation, this amount was eventually paid. Ignoring health instructions and the way in which the blame for their own kitchen error was placed on the guest is extremely unprofessional and customer-unfriendly.

The food is not what it used to be. Meet is ok, sides and rice are not good. Dirty glass.

We went here for dinner after attending a match at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. It took a long time for the food to arrive, and then half of us received our order while the rest had to wait for over 10 minutes. We even had to ask about it twice. The pizzas are quite pricey and, in our opinion, were not worth it. The edges of the crusts were really burnt. Things also went wrong with the service: the sauce for the pizza and the fries were forgotten and only arrived after asking and another long wait. The service was otherwise friendly, but given the prices, you really expect more in terms of food and service.

Very disappointing experience. I ordered Adana kebab, but the meat was still clearly pink inside and, in my opinion, served undercooked. This is also clearly visible in the photos. Additionally, there was no lavash with the Adana, and the salad was absolutely not fresh; it contained dark, wilted-looking leaves. In terms of taste, it was also very disappointing. The meat had hardly any flavor and was bland, as if almost no spices or salt had been used. For a dish you order in a restaurant, you expect fresh food, well-prepared meat, and a complete presentation. Unfortunately, this meal did not meet those expectations at all. I really couldn't enjoy it. Very bad experience. And all that for €25. For that price, you expect at least well-prepared meat, a fresh salad, and a complete dish. This was absolutely not worth the money.

Not recommended at all! A major no-go. The prices in this shop are already very expensive, but during events they raise prices arbitrarily. You never know what to expect. This feels like customer deception. An urgent inspection by the authorities is needed. Be warned!

The dishes are delicious, the ingredients are fresh, the portion is sufficient, the service attitude is super good, the environment is elegant and atmospheric, the cost performance is high, and the parking is convenient.

Before was a nice experience counting with the food and the environment but now I don’t think same, is the 3 times trying to give a chance for be better but definitely every time worst, the food not tasty not good prepared, the answer for the guy than was taking me order and invasive trying to invite me to date disrupted was than the “good” chef was on holidays but the food coming more expensive but less quality for sure, before the grill mix was 27, later 30 than is on ur big menu but now is 32, complete scam, if do it better ok but is literally going worst, plus said me than I neither need to say something bc was the closing ( I arrive at 22:30) close at 00, complete disgusting plus u can see if u wait till the end some rats in the floor, really a place ruined for don’t come back anymore

We had our work outing here and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our entire group was well looked after. The service was efficient despite the size of our group, and everyone received their orders promptly. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the team made sure every request was handled with a smile. Most importantly, everyone left happy and satisfied, which is exactly what you hope for from a group outing. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our work event such a success. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning!

Cozy spot in the South East. Friendly service..

This wonder of a place happened to be next to my office and I have been eating here since 2022. They have the absolute best Sis Kebab I have ever eaten, the Ayran comes in 2 sizes and it's delicious, the Mojito is to die for and their bread is always fresh and warm. Still, that's not even the best part. The staff treats you like family, like one of their own. They're always friendly and welcoming, even on their busiest days. I can't recommend this place enough. Thanks, guys, stay awesome!

Avoid this place if you don't want to be overcharged. The menu lists drinks at €4.95 with absolutely no size indicated. When the cola arrived, we assumed it was the €4.95 drink from the menu, since no size was ever mentioned and we never asked for anything specific. It was only after we had already paid that we realized we'd been charged €30 for 4 colas — far more than the menu price. When we asked the waiter about it, he then claimed the €4.95 price only applied to the small size (0.2l), a size and price distinction that was never shown on the menu or communicated to us before or during ordering. In other words, we found out we'd been overcharged only after the fact, once we actually checked the bill. The staff clearly knew what they were doing and were content to just take the money and let us walk out without saying a word. It was only after we actively pushed back and questioned the bill multiple times that they reluctantly refunded the difference. According to other reviews, this is not an isolated incident — it looks like a deliberate tactic to overcharge customers who don't check their bill closely. On top of that, the food was massively overpriced for what you get. Almost every dish is around €20, yet it tasted like reheated, pre-made food — nothing close to justifying that price. Between the shady pricing tactics and mediocre food, we will not be returning, and I'd strongly recommend checking your bill carefully if you do go.

5/10. Overpriced for the location - Bijlmer - and the food. The staff seemed quite disinterested in their work, you could see that they did not care. And it showed in the service. If I was the manager and I saw this attitude, I would certainly bring it up because customers can see it. The food was decent, but definitely not good enough to justify prices that would be above-average even in the city centre. Look for better places in the area.

The service was fast and friendly. The menu was varied and the food was filling. The attentive service from the waiter from Kayseri made it all worthwhile.

Went out for dinner at Marmaris with a group of friends. Overall a good experience; the food was hot and the meat was of good quality. We will definitely come back again. The sigari borek was tasty, but it did have a somewhat strange smell.

Ordered Tandoori Chicken pizza, I’m not sure what I received (perhaps the cardboard base). Staff were nice and looked after us well and other tables seemed to really enjoy their food so perhaps I was extremely unlucky.

This is my third time at Marmaris. I ate here yesterday. I ordered beef tenderloin with bulgur rice and vegetables. The food tasted fine, but when I got home I suddenly became very sick. I vomited all evening and am still recovering after one day. It was very expensive, they had a different menu, and the staff looked stressed. I will never go to Marmaris again!

The location for dining before an event is great. The staff is fine and helpful. But the prices for the food, I don't understand them... €22.50 for a small pizza??? Especially when the Domino's is right next door; I'm not a fan of that either, but they taste better and you get two for that price. I won't be coming back here.

We had reserved a table a day in advance. When we arrived, there was a long line of people who hadn't reserved. We asked 4 employees where we needed to go if we had already made a reservation. They all said they would check, but they never came back. Due to the crowds, we couldn't sit anywhere else, so we just stayed in line to get something to eat. We had ordered a drink, and during delivery, we received non-alcoholic beer even though we had ordered regular beer. The food wasn't very hot. I think the owner had helped us. He was very friendly, so that was nice, and the food was fine too. Reservations shouldn't really be accepted during events, because this sets a very poor standard of service and unfortunately means the restaurant misses out on tips...

Okay, but very expensive for below-average food. The four-cheese pasta had no taste. Very pushy waiters.

Doesn't matter that Amsterdam was baking in a mental little heatwave, Marmaris' spicy menu was filling and delicious. The mixed grill has a delicious cool creamy dollop with it to combat the spice. Food cooked to perfection and a nice outdoor space to eat. Staff were very attentive. It's a shame that for us it's a plane, a train, and a tram away.

⚠️ STRUCTURALLY BAD — NOT INCIDENTAL. Don't be fooled by the prime location! ⚠️ Poor quality, serious doubts about hygiene, and provocative hospitality. Visited twice during an event at the Arena, disappointed both times. This isn't a stroke of bad luck; this is a pattern. Nominated number one for "De Smaak Politie" (The Taste Police) and "Herrie in de Keuken" (Trouble in the Kitchen) — no doubt about it. Find a terrace elsewhere. Marmaris is situated in a prime location, right on the thoroughfare to the Arena. A beautiful, atmospheric building — but that is the only positive thing. Service, atmosphere, price, and quality bear no relation whatsoever to the appearance. This is pure mass production, aimed at one-time passers-by who won't return. The food — a miss twice (the first time wasn't an isolated incident) Pizzas: burnt, dry, cold, and tasteless. Kebab: cold, bone dry, tastes like reheated leftovers from a week ago, or perhaps even from a different plate? "Rice" turned out to be bulgur with vermicelli — link for those who need to watch out for this #gluten. Pastas: It's a good thing you recognize the pasta, but otherwise... strange aftertaste — spoiled or cleaning fluid? Salad: loose heaps of unseasoned food and no dressing... overripe tomatoes with the crowns still on, bone-dry cucumber including the ends. Bone-dry arugula. The service — intimidating rather than welcoming Hectic, unfriendly, shouting over each other. Not always Dutch-speaking, and if it takes too long, you get a rude response. High pressure to order quickly. Food does not arrive at the table simultaneously. Plates are slammed down, not placed down — amazing that they stayed intact. Aggressive, agitated temperament. After paying, surrounded by waiters who suspected we walked away without paying. Better communication, boys! Intimidating, not service-oriented. The prices — pure contempt Absurdly high, with a separate (more expensive) menu on event days. A price increase during peak days is one thing, but the combination of higher prices, less choice, and extremely poorer quality is the height of disrespect towards your customers. If I want to pay 40 euros pp for one drink and a heap of dry, tasteless cardboard, then go to the stationery shop or something! Conclusion More tasteless than tasteless in every respect. I seriously doubt whether this kitchen would pass any inspection on a busy event day. Herman den Blijker, Gordon Ramsay, Rob Geus, anyone — come take a look, because help is needed here! Shouldn't the NVWA intervene here? Once again: this is structurally bad, not an isolated incident. Keep an eye on hygiene, quality, and service — and go find a terrace somewhere else instead.

The food was fine. The beer menu has no prices; ordered a large Lagunitas IPA on tap and a pasta. It is a shame that drinks are served in a plastic cup in the restaurant. The portion of pasta was fine, but the prices are exorbitant. The staff is friendly and responsive.

Ate there yesterday before attending a concert. Within walking distance of ZIGGO, AFAS, and the Arena. Gets 5 stars because the staff is always very friendly and hardworking. Extensive menu: meat, grill, pizza, salads, and pasta dishes. The food is good and the portions are more than sufficient. A good place to grab a (quick) bite to eat before a concert.

Had such a great experience at this restaurant in the Netherlands! The grilled meat was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavour. And the bitterballen were easily some of the best I’ve had: crispy on the outside, rich and creamy inside, and paired perfectly with mustard. What really made the visit even more enjoyable was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive without being overbearing. You can really feel the warm atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great food and even better service. Definitely a place I would come back to and highly recommend to anyone visiting!

Good portion size! All dishes were delicious 🤤 had Mezze starters and it was so refreshing. The drippings were fresh, delicious, and aromatic. The nan bread - was soft and fluffy. 👏 Platter was good too especially the lamb kebab. Tandoori chicken pizza was great 👍, generous amount of meat, the pizza dough was well made, and the overall taste was delicious. The prices are a tad on the higher side, imo. But the overall place is nicely done and good service too.

I had the opportunity to eat at this place for a few days (my company paid for it). The food wasn't great, but there were some tasty dishes. The best was the kofta with rice; it had good meat and decent toppings. The pizza was okay. The worst was definitely the carbonara; nothing matched what a real carbonara should be (from the pasta, to the sauce, and ham instead of bacon). In short, you can eat well here, but I'd choose the meat dishes over the pasta.

We had a wonderful meal here! There's plenty of choice. It was strange that we were seated right next to other people. On both our left and right sides, we were seated with strangers. We northerners aren't used to that, but it ended up being very pleasant. Coincidentally, there were also northerners on both our left and right sides, and they felt the same way. But you could just as easily be sitting next to people who annoy you, and that wouldn't make for a pleasant evening. Hence my 3-star rating for atmosphere. The food was prepared quickly (even though it was packed) and was delicious. The staff was very friendly. A pretty good place!

The overall atmosphere, considering interior, music and design, was really nice. The food was pleasant, although maybe a bit expencive. However, what bothered me the most was the constant attention and staring from the staff while eating, and almost a sense of bothering them by being there - maybe they were tired after a long day, but me and my friend didn't feel too welcome.

After visiting the Ziggo Dome, we ate here. The food was fantastic, the staff were friendly, and the selection was more than adequate. It did feel a bit hectic, though. I also got the impression that everyone had to be quick to get us out as quickly as possible, as quite a few people after us were often waiting for a table. This, of course, also had to do with several concerts at ZD and the fact that a small group was playing in that concrete stadium with no atmosphere.

We ate here last night. The atmosphere was great (we sat outside with heaters). The service was quite fast and friendly. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food. I love pizza margarita, but this one had absolutely no flavor; it was just plain dough with a huge amount of cheese. And you pay 17 euros for that :( We also had two pasta dishes (one of which unfortunately wasn't warm), which also had no flavor and was all cream. One was with salmon and the other with pesto, but neither dish had any trace of it.

The pizzas were unfortunately disappointing. A bit tasteless. My pizza quatro formaggi smelled strange. I regretted it, as did my stomach. Everything was served quickly, though. It was very busy, but that's to be expected with so many events happening at the same time. The restaurant feels more like a food court. The staff is friendly. But I wouldn't go there for a first date, for example. All in all, decent. But pricey for what you get.

The sauces and the overall presentation also added to the experience. (Yogurt sauce) It is definitely a family-friendly restaurant. The atmosphere is suitable for children, and the staff were gentle, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which made the visit more enjoyable. The food is good—while not five-star (as nothing is perfect), it certainly meets solid expectations and delivers quality overall.

Dutch prices, but excellent service and delicious food. And it was very easy to make myself understood as a French speaker. Simple and efficient.
