Effendy - Lahmacun Cafe in Jordaan

I booked based on recommendations. It's only 10 minutes from Amsterdam Square. We were warmly welcomed. Dessert and tea were offered, thankfully. Friendly staff. The lahmacun was crispy and delicious.

The food is very, very delicious. It is worth trying and visiting again.

English: Bad experience. The waitress and the lahmacun maker were constantly touching their noses, it was just disgusting. We waited over forty minutes, and still nothing was ready. "Yes, but we're busy," the waitress said; why did the people after us get their food first? We ended up canceling it. And €7.50 for a lahmacun? Ridiculously expensive for what you get. The portions are also small; I've seen it, there's nothing in it. Turkish: Berbat deneyim. Waiters with lahmacun are very busy, they're really dirty. Kirk dakika fazla bekledik, hâlâ hazır değildi, sonunda iptal ettik. "Şuan çok kalabalığız oyuzden" said the waitress. Bizden sonra gelenler yemekleri hemen geldi ama? Bir lahmacun €7.50 gerçekten çok fazla, yazık.

I ate 3 lahmacun because all was nice. Classic is nice as well but I highly recommend lahmacun kebab 👌

I’ve been coming here for 20 years, back when it was still Mercan Patisserie. I always loved the Turkish music and clean cosy atmosphere. The staff are so lovely, it’s a family business and they still recognise me and I have lost count of how many times they have given me complimentary Turkish teas and baklavas. Still a firm favourite!

As someone who enjoys lahmacun so far from home, it was a wonderful experience to experience this flavor. On a rainy day, my son and I felt right at home with the wonderful lahmacun and warm soup. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is warm. Especially those with small children shouldn't hesitate. There's soup, lahmacun, ayran, and everything else is for nothing...

It's amazing how delicious this remains, time and time again. I've heard that the owner continually invests to maintain high quality, despite the success. I can tell you: so far, it's been a success!

We had a minced meat classic no cheese and a kebob and they were both very good. Only 4 tables so lots of people were getting them to go. We were lucky enough to get last table and were shocked how many people were getting food there.

Although the price was a bit high, the lahmacun was delicious and filling. I definitely recommend it.

This might be the best lahmacun I've had in Europe. I can say that both the manager, Tuğçe, and the hygiene of the place are excellent, as is the customer service.

I can honestly say it was the best lahmacun I've ever had. We were especially pleased with the service and attentiveness provided by the manager, Tuğçe, and her team.

The vegetarian lahmacun might be the best I've ever had. The spanish lahmacun is also among my favorites. Manager Tuğçe and her team were very kind to us. I'll be back soon.

We visited Effendy in Amsterdam with my parents, who were visiting from Turkey, and absolutely loved it. The lahmacun was outstanding, and the “A la Turca” and Lahmacun Kebab were full of authentic flavor. Everything tasted just like back home. Special thanks to Yusuf, whose warm and friendly attitude made our experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real Turkish food in Amsterdam!

Yusuf, the business manager, is especially professional and very hospitable. Furthermore, all the products are excellent. Hygiene and other rules were perfect.

Evey week i am visiting this fantastic place to get their extremely delicious lahmacun. Each lahmacun is very tasty but my favorite ones is kebap lahmacun it is known by Turkish pizza. I recommend to everyone.

One day food was amazing, the other day, I got not exactly what I wanted: I asked for a mint tea, they brought me just a Turkish tea (I like Turkish tea) but on that day I wanted a mint one. I asked not to make the lachmacun spicy, yet it turned out to be spicy. But the first time I was there, food was amazing. The place is pretty small and busy, so you might wait for a table. But it’s pretty cheap and tasty, so I recommend.

Very delicious and crispy lahmacun, with various fillings, including vegan options, and various add-ons. Very friendly staff, limited seating inside, a few outside. Like everywhere in Amsterdam. Quick preparation, top value!

The owner was very welcoming and warm. He patiently explained each dish and helped us order. The environment was comfortable, and the dishes were unique. The prices were reasonable and the value for money was excellent. It was a great experience.

We had lahmacun with our family. The service was warm and very fast, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. It's great to have different options for lahmacun; the hot and sauce varieties are delicious. We also definitely recommend the baklava for dessert. The lahmacun is very crispy and delicious. Great lunch option! Not much room to eat there but there's a canal nearby to sit down and eat. Ordered the kebab option. Lots of parsley maybe too much. But overall delicious!

They can't manage the ordering process, it's very complicated, we waited outside for a very long time and 10 people who came after us got their food. They ignored our order even though we reminded them 3 times. I don't think you should go.

Even though I'm from Gaziantep, I really enjoyed the lahmacun. Despite being made on electric pizza ovens and rolled out in a pizza machine, the dough and filling are delicious. I was very pleased with the friendliness and attentiveness of the owner and staff, and their dedication to promoting Turkish culture. I highly recommend coming here and supporting their growth and development. You'll get your money's worth and be glad you came.

The lahmacun was very good, just a little dry, but I still think it was one of the best I've had in the Netherlands. Everything was great, except for the cramped space.

It's delicious, they're welcoming, smiling, and very generous. They take the time to understand you, even trying to speak French as best they can. I highly recommend you go there; you won't be disappointed.

I got the lahmacun chicken wrap which was tasty and a good portion. They couldn't leave the mushrooms out so had to pick them out but other than that it was good.

We tried Classic with Cheese, Kabab, and Chicken wraps. Chicken Wrap: 10/10 Kabab Wrap: 8/10 Classic and Cheese: 5/10 - was too salty. The staff are friendly.

It's worth it, Türklerden has a lot to offer - but the quality is great. Amsterdam's a place where you'll be able to see what's going on. And of course in German :-) for German-speaking visitors. 👍🏽 The staff is incredibly warm and friendly. I can say with complete conviction that this was the tastiest and best lahmacun I've ever eaten. Without exaggeration, it was better than many lahmacun shops in Turkey! Interestingly, the shop has more foreign customers than Turkish customers—a clear sign of the quality. If I return to Amsterdam, this will definitely be the first place I visit.
