Truly the best Turkish in Amsterdam

We couldn't believe we'd find such a beautiful, attentive, and high-quality place in the heart of the Netherlands. It's so different from other locations. You can see the quality in both the food and the atmosphere. We'll be back again and again. Thank you ☺️

This was the first Turkish restaurant we tried in Amsterdam and we were mind blown! Flavour packed. Fresh. We ordered the mixed grill plate and the octopus salad. It came with a bunch of sides equally good! We didn’t take get a chance to take a photo of our dishes but here’s the after.

This restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. I came here with my family for a relaxed weekend dinner and everything was just spot on — from the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and seated within minutes despite it being fairly busy. The menu had plenty of options, and the waiter was patient in explaining the dishes. I had the grilled sea bass with lemon herb sauce, and it was cooked to perfection — flaky, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were just as good. Service was attentive but never intrusive. It’s clear they value their customers. Definitely planning to come back soon.

Delicious food all dishes were delicious. Starters were actually enough for us. Desserts definitely top. Definitely worth coming back.

We had passed by a few times and were always drawn in by the great smell coming from the place, so we finally decided to give it a try. Overall, we had a decent experience. The food was okay, and the service was friendly, but I have to say the price-to-quality ratio didn’t quite hit the mark for me. My dish was fine, but nothing exceptional — and the portion size was definitely on the smaller side. The staff were nice and attentive, but even without any alcoholic drinks, we ended up paying €50 per person, which felt a bit steep for what we got.

This was a great place to have dinner at. The food was really really good. Everything I ordered was beyond delicious. Soups, salads and main dishes were perfect serving and the taste was truly amazing. Also, the staff were very friendly and fond of my family and I. I've been to Orontes West several times, and it has never disappointed me. The staff is always incredibly friendly and makes you feel immediately welcome. There is a wide choice of dishes, and whatever you choose, it is always delicious! Went again tonight and it was great again. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes good food and a cozy atmosphere!

A wonderful restaurant with delicious authentic Turkish dishes, highly recommended. If you are in Amsterdam you should definitely eat here and try the Sac Kavurma, it is really delicious.

Went for dinner yesterday, without a reservation, but a place was still made available for us. Clearly indicated that we could stay seated until a certain time. Child friendly and the food was fast and very tasty. Service is top notch but the hospitality and warmth was the best. Thank you!

The three of us had a delicious meal here. As a starter we chose three types of mezes, which were delicious. This was followed by the main course, and we unanimously agreed that this is one of the better Turkish restaurants when it comes to meat: super tender, delicious and full of flavor. The only downside was the garnish. The three of us got one bowl, while it would be nicer if everyone could choose their own rice or salad. It could also be something more. The dessert, with Turkish coffee and fresh baklava, was very tasty. We finished with Turkish tea. Definitely recommended if you are looking for quality food!

Amazing place! One of the best food in Amsterdam. I would highly recommend the mushrooms, obruk, sigara boregi and the calamares. For the main food, we had kusleme and sac tava. We recently had dinner at Orontes-west with a group of twelve colleagues. We are very satisfied with our experience! Operation The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. They were quick in taking our orders and serving the dishes. Dishes As for the food, we were all impressed. The dishes were not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. There was something for everyone, and everything was fresh and tasty. Conclusion All in all it was a great evening, and we look forward to coming back here for sure. This restaurant is highly recommended for groups who want to enjoy good food and good service!

I have to start with the warm hospitality and the staff super good vibes. You feel very welcomed until you leave. A wide menu with all the Turkish traditional plates but made with the twist of the place. The taste was super and the plates are very fulfilling.

I tried it on my friend's recommendation. We sang the couplet with my son while eating. My friend ordered küşleme for himself. The size of the portion and the side dishes that came with it were very satisfying.

We weren't here either, but we were probably close. I can't say anything about it, but I would like to go there next time.

Unbelievable find! This is a locals favorite that welcomes tourists like family! We happened upon Orontes late at night on our first night. Mediterranean sounded good to everyone and many restaurants were closing, so we popped in. Everything - every thing - was awesome. We were presented with many lovely dishes. All were prepared with love and it felt more like you were at a family gathering with the favorite dishes, than at a restaurant. The team was so accommodating and welcoming. They were celebrating the beginnings of our trip with us and brought us some baklava to make it special. Such a lucky find. Thank you for making us feel like family on our first night!

Best restaurant expirience in Amsterdam for me

The appetizers, the atmosphere, the attention of the employees were all very good. You can find whatever you want, both Turkish and Dutch. It was the best restaurant I've ever been to abroad. It has a beautiful atmosphere and a history of 25 years.

Typical Turkish food restaurant, super tasty, well served and well seasoned dishes. The service was excellent, I felt very welcome and they always asked me if I was enjoying the food. I bought kibbeh as a starter, seabass for the main course, and pistachio baklava and ice cream for dessert. All this, water and orange juice (from a bottle) was around 45 euros. I thought it was a little pricey, but everything was very well served and delicious, so it was worth the price!

My husband and I are currently suffering from Orontes West. It was our first time and we really enjoyed it. Among the cold snacks we had hummus, Greek salad. Walnut puree, Saksuka and arugula salad. The mezes were very tasty. I ate Adana kebab as main menu. We drank raki as a drink. Aydin at the service is very professional and friendly. I definitely recommend that we come back for sure.

Very friendly service and delicious food. The atmosphere there is always so nice. I think it is the best Turkish restaurant I have eaten in the Netherlands so far. And believe me, I know almost every restaurant in the Netherlands. Everything is right there.

Very good Turkish dishes and nice atmosphere outside

We found the restaurant online and there were three of us there (3 women). The restaurant is very nicely decorated. We were warmly welcomed and served in a friendly manner. The waitress was really sweet and the waiter also looked after us politely. The mezzes were very tasty. We liked the walnut puree (Muhammara) and the eggplant puree best. We ordered a grill plate and beyti. That was very delicious. The grill plate was also tasty, but there wasn't enough meat on it, it could have been more. Overall very worthwhile.

There is a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. Delicious food from various mezzes. Mix grill as a main course and have to say that every piece of meat was tender and juicy. Grilled fish also tasty. We were served by two waiters, one super social and cheerful, the other distant and grumpy.

Everything we ordered was exceptional, original and well cooked. Service was outstanding as well; polite, fast and with a feel-good and relaxed attitude. A place that is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

We went for a team dinner, we are an international group, everyone loved the food. We had vegan, vegeterian and meat eaters and they catered for all of us. I am gluten free, they gave options in addition to the set menu and gluten free bread was nice too. The meze plates are just so tasty. Also the staff always checked in if we are happy. Service was so friendly and efficient, with no long waits between courses. Just enough. I am Turkish and this felt like home. They have Salgam and Turkish wine. And for desert we had pumkin desert (kabak tatlisi) which is my favorite 😍 I will be back soon!
