The food was really delicious. The staff were also very kind. At the end of the meal they offered us Turkish tea or liqueur. Such a sweet gesture.

The starters and grill dishes are delicious. Warm atmosphere and great welcome and coziness at Apê Aydın.

A good Turkish restaurant, but the prices are high and the portions are small. Disappointing with the kunefe; it wasn't homemade and wasn't very good. We reserved a table for four in the evening. There was a long wait to order and be served. The dishes arrived, and we were pleased with the appetizing look of the main courses and sides. However, the portions were nothing like what we'd get in France; we were surprised by the small amount of side dishes. The kunefe was a huge disappointment; it wasn't homemade and really wasn't good. It's the first Turkish restaurant we've had that left us still hungry.

The old white hair guy just rude. We had a dinner with side dishes and requested sparkling water. He was hesitant to brink sparkling water with ice. Should we only get alcohol to make you happy? Just what is your problem? The food is not authentic Turkish unfortunately. I don't recommend.

I come here often with my father. Every time, we are received with great hospitality and the food is delicious. When the weather is nice, you sit right outside on a bustling and lively square. Inside, it is atmospheric and cozy. Be sure to make a reservation, because it fills up completely in no time around dinnertime!

I used to come here all the time, but yesterday I ate there again after a long time. It was just as delicious as in my memories. The sea bream, mussels, calamari, everything is delicious, the atmosphere is nice and the service is fantastic as always.

Always good. Top dishes for years, never hit or miss. Meat dishes with a fantastic grilled flavor, delicious desserts, but oh, their favorites remain the Mezes/appetizers. Sigares, Babaganoush, everything equally tasty. Just try to stop eating.

I was craving köfte. The only thing we didn't end up getting 😉. The appetizers sounded as delicious as they were. Everything was fresh, very flavorful, and—as you can see from looking into the kitchen—homemade. So the Adana köfte just didn't fit in (but it looked amazing!). That's why we'll be back. And because it's simply mmm delicious and the service is friendly.

As always, mezes were delicious, tender crispy calamari fresh salad.. Perfect atmosphere for an afternoon rakı or rakı in general. Special thanks to Aydın abi, for his hospitality ❤️

A very pleasant atmosphere and very delicious.

My food was tasty, but my wife's chicken pieces were just placed on the plate, completely bare. Starters were okay; I've had better ones, but it's not the Orontes I knew. The service and the feigned interest of the (owner) didn't impress me either. It's eat, pay, and get out. The weak Turkish tea was rubbish. I would have liked to post a positive review, but I don't have one, and I certainly won't be going back again.

Great real Turkish food in a lively location a bit off the tourist track. We were well looked after, the food was fantastic and great value for what we had.

You can find me here every week. Firstly, because the food is delicious and of consistent quality. Secondly, because the staff is very friendly and good. And thirdly, I love this terrace; long hours of sun, lots of people walking by like a catwalk, and not too many hipsters. Top spot!

A restaurant with a strong sense of tradition, where the professionalism and experience of the staff are evident from the moment you arrive. The service was outstanding throughout the entire evening: friendly, attentive, and always willing to help us with our food choices. They even surprised us with an extra dessert, which was a very thoughtful gesture. We ordered a sharing starter for two (€57). While it was nicely presented, we felt it was somewhat disappointing for the price. It included a variety of hummus, cheese sticks, a few shrimp, and other small items, but overall it did not quite match our expectations given the cost. The real highlight was the meat. We ordered a ribeye grill and a mixed grill, both cooked over charcoal. The flavor was exceptional, with a delicious smoky taste, excellent texture, and perfectly cooked meat. Easily the best part of the meal. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience. The quality of the meat and the outstanding service made a lasting impression, and we would gladly return.

If we could have given more stars, we would have! A nice counterpoint to all the overpriced yuppie joints in Amsterdam. Truly a wonderfully old-fashioned hospitality experience: service with time, attention, warmth, and humor. Delicious, authentic food with flavor and good portions. The tasty Pinot Grigio made this evening on the sun-drenched terrace complete. See you soon!

The food is mediocre (no difference from a shawarma place), the atmosphere is dry; the places next door on the left and right were much better. The service is a disaster (the waitress poured almost everything at you, grumpy face). Then we had the waiter with a wig who came three times to say you're talking too loud (we're sitting on a terrace), but the third time we spoke to him and told him to stay away. It was because of the scores, but based on what I ate and saw, all those reviews were posted by them themselves. For me, it's a closed book.

Amsterdam is a true world city, and it’s amazing that you can experience a bit of the Levant right here in Northern Europe. Everything they do is well thought out and very well executed. When you order a couple of main dishes, they come with generous sides like bulgur salad and tzatziki, and the bread just keeps coming. It creates a warm, welcoming feeling at the table. The starters are refined, delicious and not overwhelming, which makes it easy to try a few different dishes. And the service is both professional and genuinely friendly. Price/quality: spot on. I could keep going describing how good this place is, but honestly, just go and try it yourself!

This is definitely a must-visit Turkish restaurant in the Netherlands. When we went, it was more Dutch than Turkish. The food was delicious, but I couldn't take any photos.

We have been sitting at a table for 15 minutes, we have already ordered drinks, and are now being asked to leave! It is only for food now. Even though we clearly indicated when ordering that we only wanted a drink. Hereby 1 star for the service! Never again!

One of the friendliest staff (guy with glasses) ive ever had the pleasure of being served by. Quick service and good food. I had the lamb which was very tender and the side dishes matched it well. I think the presentation of the lamb dish couldve looked a little prettier, but taste is obviously much more important, so no points off for that

Very large and delicious selection of both cold and hot mezes, veggie and non veggie combined with delicious kebabs. The staff is very friendly. Five of us had kebabs, saslik, and tava (a type of flatbread) along with appetizers. The portion sizes were good for the price, compared to the Netherlands in general. The flavors of our meals were also excellent. The staff, in particular, were very friendly and attentive. Thankfully, they even offered refreshments, and we were generally very pleased. The only thing missing was some music that would suit the atmosphere. The volume was so low that it lacked ambiance, but we didn't really notice it. A place worth returning to again and again.

This was the first Turkish restaurant we tried in Amsterdam and we were mind blown! Flavour packed. Fresh. We ordered the mixed grill plate and the octopus salad. It came with a bunch of sides equally good! We didn’t take get a chance to take a photo of our dishes but here’s the after.

This restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. I came here with my family for a relaxed weekend dinner and everything was just spot on — from the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and seated within minutes despite it being fairly busy. The menu had plenty of options, and the waiter was patient in explaining the dishes. I had the grilled sea bass with lemon herb sauce, and it was cooked to perfection — flaky, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were just as good. Service was attentive but never intrusive. It’s clear they value their customers. Definitely planning to come back soon.

We had passed by a few times and were always drawn in by the great smell coming from the place, so we finally decided to give it a try. Overall, we had a decent experience. The food was okay, and the service was friendly, but I have to say the price-to-quality ratio didn’t quite hit the mark for me. My dish was fine, but nothing exceptional — and the portion size was definitely on the smaller side. The staff were nice and attentive, but even without any alcoholic drinks, we ended up paying €50 per person, which felt a bit steep for what we got.

I've been to Orontes West several times, and it has never disappointed me. The staff is always incredibly friendly and makes you feel immediately welcome. There is a wide choice of dishes, and whatever you choose, it is always delicious! Went again tonight and it was great again. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes good food and a cozy atmosphere!

Went for dinner yesterday, without a reservation, but a place was still made available for us. Clearly indicated that we could stay seated until a certain time. Child friendly and the food was fast and very tasty. Service is top notch but the hospitality and warmth was the best. Thank you!

The three of us had a delicious meal here. As a starter we chose three types of mezes, which were delicious. This was followed by the main course, and we unanimously agreed that this is one of the better Turkish restaurants when it comes to meat: super tender, delicious and full of flavor. The only downside was the garnish. The three of us got one bowl, while it would be nicer if everyone could choose their own rice or salad. It could also be something more. The dessert, with Turkish coffee and fresh baklava, was very tasty. We finished with Turkish tea. Definitely recommended if you are looking for quality food!

The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. They were quick in taking our orders and serving the dishes. Dishes As for the food, we were all impressed. The dishes were not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. There was something for everyone, and everything was fresh and tasty. Conclusion All in all it was a great evening, and we look forward to coming back here for sure. This restaurant is highly recommended for groups who want to enjoy good food and good service!

I tried it on my friend's recommendation. We sang the couplet with my son while eating. My friend ordered küşleme for himself. The size of the portion and the side dishes that came with it were very satisfying.

I have to start with the warm hospitality and the staff super good vibes. You feel very welcomed until you leave. A wide menu with all the Turkish traditional plates but made with the twist of the place. The taste was super and the plates are very fulfilling.

Unbelievable find! This is a locals favorite that welcomes tourists like family! We happened upon Orontes late at night on our first night. Mediterranean sounded good to everyone and many restaurants were closing, so we popped in. Everything - every thing - was awesome. We were presented with many lovely dishes. All were prepared with love and it felt more like you were at a family gathering with the favorite dishes, than at a restaurant. The team was so accommodating and welcoming. They were celebrating the beginnings of our trip with us and brought us some baklava to make it special. Such a lucky find. Thank you for making us feel like family on our first night!
