Great Turkish cuisine, fast service, authentic music, welcoming staff, Demet Hanim helped us with warm friendly attitude, what else we can ask more. We tried saslik, Ali kebap, cig kofte, ezme, tomato&garlic confit, armut tatlisi everything was super delicious. I cannot pick one of them as favourite. We will definitely visit here more often.

Booked a table for a group of 12 with only 2 days notice. I had 3 different dietary requirement needs at the table (vegan, halal, and gluten free) and Ali Ocakbasi met all of them! The excellent food, service and atmosphere completely saved my birthday dinner after an unexpected cancellation by another restaurant. I have visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening with a friend. We ordered Pistachio Kebab, "Ezme", and glass of Turkish Raki. Our polite and sharp waitress Sogi quickly served our dinner without skipping any detail. I think Sogi is adding an additional value to the restaurant. Breads were warm enough, crispy, thin; just like in Turkey. Pistachio kebab was just perfect, my friend couldn't help but ordered another same type of kebab. Ambiance and vibe is warm. The nostalgic music plays on the background doesn't disturb your conversation but makes it even more enjoyable. There is an upper floor but we were seated next to a big window on the ground floor, looking into a UNESCO heritage Amsterdam Canal. If you go on the prime time, i strongly recommmend you to make a reservation.

I chose this restaurant for the high rank it has. But it doesn’t deserve even 1 star. They have tiny portions with extreme prices for the food that doesn’t even taste as it supposed to be. Plus serving is terrible we waited too long for someone to take our order and it took like half hour for them to serve us. My worst experience in a restaurant.

The food was absolutely incredible! Every starter: delicious and interesting. I had the grilled vegan sarma (sp?) as a main, and it was one of the tastiest things I’ve ever had. Dmitria, our server, was friendly and attentive and made great suggestions. And the restaurant did us a solid by rearranging their bookings to accommodate seating our party of 6 - who had no reservation - and making the team’s last night together in Amsterdam a night to remember.

The atmosphere was great, the staff were very kind, and the service was excellent. However, the kebabs were quite bland and lacked salt. When we asked the staff, they said that’s just how they are usually prepared. Still, overall a pleasant experience.
