Kaz was very friendly and we enjoyed our time. Although we didn’t have a reservation in a fully booked Friday evening they had an excellent and fast service.

We absolutely loved this restaurant, which serves authentic Turkish cuisine. We had a blast. Everything was excellent! Grill menu to share for two (mixed kebabs, chicken skewers, and beef skewers, served with bulgur and tomato) accompanied by cold starters (hummus and a cucumber and mint yogurt cream). The service was perfect!! The welcome was very pleasant. A special thank you to our waitress, Kaz, who was lovely and very professional from start to finish. One star less for the atmosphere because it was very noisy, but that didn't stop us from having a great evening! ❤️

Excellent restaurant in a splendid location on Amsterdam's most elegant canal. The waitress who looked after us was named SOGI and was exceptional... kind and attentive to our every request, especially since we were with our children.

Great restaurant. Still one of my favourite restaurants in the Netherlands. Expect to pay 40/50 euro per person at least. Still as good as the first time i went there 6+ years ago

Good option in the city centre if you want to have Turkish food. The options are quite diverse, whether you’re vegetarian or not and whether you’re in for a lot of starters or just the mains. Dish sizes are Dutch standards, but if you have some starters to share and a main dish you should be fine. They also thought of desserts :). Staff is mainly Turkish which contributes to the feeling you’re in a Turkish place :). Safe choice and prizes seem fine as well.

Here is amazing 😍😍😍 definitely come and try. If you wanna see real ocakbaşı, real kebap. Meat is melting in your mouth and they cooked perfect and of course Turkish meze. omg🤤🤤🤤🤤. and final dish is katmer🫠🫠🫠. An experience in itself! and of course Demet☺️ she is so good and helpful. Gerçekten çok güzel. Look I lived a few years in Türkiye and the Turkish kitchen is very rich. Everything here is perfect. Actually better than you find in Türkiye, because it’s all in one place. They have incredible quality and it’s a place I could return every day. If you seek the authentic experience, this is it. Perfection. Amazing staff as well. A true Turkish hospitality. We visited Ali Ocakbaşı in Amsterdam and instantly felt a touch of home. After a long time craving high quality Turkish mezes paired with a warm, inviting ambiance, this place delivered exactly what we were looking for. Our server, Sogi, was incredibly kind and attentive, making our evening even more enjoyable. The food was exceptional, we tried the Çöp Şiş and Fıstıklı Kebab, along with Köpoğlu and Girit Ezmesi. The mezes were unbelievably flavorful, each bite taking us back to Istanbul. The Fıstıklı Kebab was on another level, and the Çöp Şiş was juicy and tender, definitely among our favorites. While the portion sizes were a bit small, it didn’t take away from the experience. With a glass of rakı, great music, and a cozy atmosphere, we truly felt at home. If you’re missing the meyhane culture of Istanbul or simply want to explore authentic Anatolian cuisine in a stylish setting, Ali Ocakbaşı is a must-visit.

Whenever I’d come to this restaurant I always knew I’d have an amazing experience eating. Demet, Sogi, and Raz were my waitresses on different occasions that I have came and always exceeded my expectations on their service.

We ate today at Ali Ocakbaşı and it was an excellent meal. The dishes were full of flavor, freshly prepared, and truly authentic. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff made us feel very welcome with their friendly service. Everything from start to finish was perfect. Definitely a place we would recommend and one we’ll happily return to!
