El Asador in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

It has been while since I have written a bad review about a restaurant. This restaurant has asked for it with their terrible wait service, mediocre food, skimpy food portion and a hefty price tag. I was very hungry after work in the afternoon and was looking for a good lunch meal. Happened to bump into this place and decided to check it out. Normally I read reviews before I visit a restaurant but failed to do it before I went to eat here. First of all, when I pay 20 Euros for a Salmon plate, I except a decent size salmon fillet. That was not the case and the same was over done. At the minimum , a decent portion of salad for the steak plate(see picture) but they skimped on it(see picture). There was only one functioning bathroom and was dirty. To top it all, when we asked the waitress to split the bill, she was rude and argued that we should have mentioned it when we sat down to order but not later. She kept insisting that she will not be able to split the bill. When asked to call the manager, she flat out said she would not call him either. Very rude treatment and service. That was the lousy icing on a tasteless cake… We finally left paying the bill without leaving a tip because of the mediocre food for the price we paid and the rude service from the waitress who didn’t know how to handle a customer’s simple request to split the bill. They are a shame to some good Argentinian steak places out there. After reading all the reviews, I only can conclude that the owner does not care about any of the bad reviews that people write about his restaurant and wanting to do something about it. It is his loss losing repeat customers. I will spend my money elsewhere. Bottom line- “when you are in Amsterdam, Stay away from this place.”

A very good restaurant in the center of Amsterdam. One of the best chicken wings you can find in the city. The beef as well is very nice and well cooked. It's a bit expensive though. I would recommend it for a nice dinner with your partner.

Keep walking. Stay AWAY. The food here is horrible and the place is disgustingly dirty. BUT what’s worse is they will try and rip you off. Ask about all pricing before you order anything (your bill won’t reflect the menu pricing)… including non alcoholic drinks. A stale pop (likely using large bottles to pour in glasses) cost €6.90.

TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS 🤬!! DO NOT GO THERE!! This is our worst experience in Amsterdam! Possibility of taking “gluten-free”, but in reality gluten-free pizza dough contains it😱. My gluten intolerant friend felt it gone🤮. THIS IS INTOLERABLE 🤬! In addition, the music will cost you an additional sum of around 4 euros! This is only made clear once the order is placed! DO NOT ASK FOR MAYONNAISE, KETCHUP OR MUSTARD! This costs between 2 and 3 euros extra. Specified only when you have paid 😈 In short, you will have paid MORE to be SICK. But after all it's a different concept 🤣

Prices are very important for being in the center of Amsterdam. Delicious food, the portion a little small. Adequate care. recommendable

The pasta was good, but the atmosphere was gloomy.

Everything from the manager to the food was incredible. The Ribs and the steak were the best I've ever had.

This has to be the saddest restaurant I have visited in the last 10 years. There will be no communication with you and you can only provide the numbers of the dishes when ordering. When the food arrives after waiting far too long, everything has been fried for too long, the fries are ridiculously dry, with the exception of the beef, which is the opposite, which almost still has a perceptible heartbeat. When we reported all this and sent the dishes back, the owner really did his best to save what could be saved. Therefore 2 stars for the service. These are not thanks to the proprietor who stood at the entrance in a slightly too long winter coat and hat and only navigated you to your seat by pointing.

Perfectly grilled steak with nice wine. Pablo has the best service.

The food was very tasty, I had a pepper steak, it was very well seasoned and delicious. the atmosphere was very relaxing and the service was very friendly. If I'm in Amsterdam again, I'd love to come back.

Argentine restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. Super nice place and the food prepared with lots of love. Prices include dishes starting at €10. I was attended to by Michael who was super attentive. Yes 5 ⭐️

Not good food at all for the price, we got server dry reheated pancakes with not so fresh strawberries, service was good though.

Les plats sont surgelés, les toast ne sont pas grillés, l’attente est interminable si vous prenez une pizza, la cuisine est fade… vous l’aurez compris, ce restaurant est un piège à touriste et ne mérite pas de s’y arrêter !

Was craving a steak and came across this place while looking for dinner, the host was extremely attentive and helpful and the steak and ribs we got were great, the steak was actually medium rare unlike some places I've been to.

Although the restaurant was short handed, the staff delivered a fantastic meal, quickly and efficiently. Thank you for a great experience!!

Let's say right off the bat: the meat was on point and great. The rest of the restaurant, while not bad, it had just two shortcomings for me: toilet and side dishes. The toilet wasn't tidy and we weren't there at a busy time, so a bit yikes, and the side dishes were too simple for the meat. The fries were ok, but the salad was too basic. Overall, the great meat was worth it.

Es war echt kalt und zugig. Der junge Kellner war nett, aber nicht sehr aufmerksam. Das bestellte Steak war recht zäh und durchwachsen.

Sehr freundlicher und bemühter Wirt. Getränke und Essen waren sehr schnell serviert. Qualität dem Preis angemessen, aber nicht mehr.
