Low-quality mixed tapas. Lots of fried food. Price-quality ratios were very different. Staff didn't stop by to ask about drinks or dessert. A glass of soda fell over while serving food because the table hadn't been cleared. Don't miss this place.

If I could have given zero stars I would have. Ate with a group of 17 people, the only ones in the restaurant. Bad service, unfriendly staff, everything is thrown in the fryer and the receipt was incorrect.

Shared dining gehad, gevraagd naar hoe dit werkt per prijs en uiteindelijk teveel betaald! Expliciet gevraagd of het per persoon of per twee personen want dat was onduidelijk!! Overigens was het enorm smakeloos. Geen wonder dat er bijna geen gasten zijn.

Het was gewoon VERSCHRIKKELIJK! Garnalen uit de magnetron. Niet lekker gebakken in de olie, maar bleekscheten die op temperatuur gebracht zijn. De geitenkaas idem dito. Het is gewoon warm rubber. Niets uit de oven. Het enige wat lekker was, was het stokbrood. De bediening sympathiek. Ze staan machteloos was de eigenaar als norm stelt. Echt nooit meer.

Had shared dining, asked how this works per price and ended up paying too much! Explicitly asked if it was per person or per two people because that was unclear!! Besides, it was extremely tasteless. No wonder there are almost no guests.

We ate here recently, but we'll definitely never be back! We arrived and were greeted by a very (what seemed like) rushed/stressed host, which really got on our nerves the entire evening. Once seated, we opted for the "special Valentine's Day menu" for only a 'small' €50 per person. As a starter, we were given bread, which we were asked to eat faster because the other appetizer was also arriving quickly. Then we received the other appetizer and took the bread away. Fortunately, we did get a lot for the appetizer: one piece of melon with not even a slice of ham around it... but then, thankfully, the main course arrived: Here we received (for two people, so divide everything by two...) two meatballs, two spare ribs, a potato dish, four chicken drumsticks, four shrimp, and some lettuce. It was also heated vigorously in the microwave, which we saw and certainly tasted. I also got a grand dessert, which was the only "grand" for €50 per person, but that's about it. The bottle of wine was fine, but being served a half-baked meal for €50 per person is not appropriate for a restaurant. So unless you want to waste your money on poor service and bad food, please don't go here! :)

Delicious Spanish tapas, lots of choice, nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Voor 75 euro verwacht pp verwacht ik wel wat meer dan erg slechte wijn, droog vlees en luidruchtig personeel dat de borden weg haalt voor je klaar bent met eten. Ohja en dag erna erg ziek geweest van het eten.

We got shared meat dinner plate, meat felt somehow stale, reheated. It was dry, and there was balsamic vinegar on meat? Felt like all different kinds of meat got marinated in same tomato paste-ish sauce. Ribs were undercooked, vegetables on the side was cold. Only thing we liked was chicken skewers. Despite low quality of food, our server was really friendly. We even got complimentary tapas. Atmosphere is also nice, cozy little place. You should work on making the food better

We had a shared mixed grill meat platter. It was delicious and a good amount for two.

When we arrived it was very quiet. We were able to enjoy delicious food in peace with Spanish music in the background. The service was friendly.

We waren 3 vriendinnen een gezellige avond uit. We moesten wel vrij snel bestellen ober was al 2 x aan de tafel geweest uiteindelijk voor en hoofdgerecht besteld. Voorgerecht was goed maar werd weggehaald voor we klaar waren omdat het hoofdgerecht klaar was. Hoofdgerecht was verschillende vleessoorten de beef die erop lag zat vol zenen en wss te doorgebakken. Koffie na genomen en voor we het wisten en er ook niet om gevraagd hadden werd re rekening op tafel gelegd. Of we maar wilde vertrekken. Nog nooit meegemaakt. Dit was voor ons de eerste en laatste keer. Zal het ook niet aanbevelen

Truly insane. Very great! Lovingly delicious! The food was absolutely fantastic - from the starter (great tapas) to the main courses with spare ribs, salmon etc. We left really satisfied and full and will be happy to come back. We were warmly welcomed and quickly received the menus, which were available in several languages ​​but digitally. The food was surprisingly good, although the reviews gave it a bit of a dislike. We would definitely come back here on our next visit to Utrecht.

My family from Venezuela came visit Utrecht and brought them to try this restaurant and was the best choice ever, food came on time and very delicious. The service was high standards and they had my favorite beer Mahou. Thanks guys

Everything was very good, with a very attentive waiter, especially one called Óscar, who was the first time we came to Holland and was wonderful. I don't understand why it has such a low score for the good quality-price ratio, especially with the price throughout the country.

Location great and staff was friendly, unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired.. the tortilla con patates too dry and the hake/shrimp croquette too soft. Unfortunately, the rioja from a carafe also did not meet the standard. Once again it is not the location and staff, but I don't think you need to do it for the food (Thursday around 7:00 PM)

Vriendelijk, eten was goed, maar zonder meer. Hadden wel wat meer keuze verwacht in de tapas. We kozen voor het Madridmenu. De tapas waren goed. We raden deze zaak niet af, maar hebben al betere tapaszaken bezocht.

Food has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with Spanish, I was married to a Spanish woman so I really know what this should taste like. Completely loveless and tasteless lukewarm food. Wine here has been diluted, I had to taste it 6 times before I could detect any flavor. To top it all off, a very surprised face from the waiting staff.

If you are used to Spanish tapas, this is a disappointment. Quality is low. Ordered Bacardi cola twice, which did not contain Bacardi, but a cheap version. Drinks returned but were charged as normal. Then just admit that you only serve pour-over fake Bacardi. I would never go there again.

Unfortunately, the price for the tapas plate for two people was cheated on, so that 8 euros more was charged than what was offered on the display in front of the restaurant. When I reordered bread, a bread, dip and olive combination was delivered for just under 7 euros. The food itself was very average.

Eine Preisgestaltung, die nahezu unverschämt ist , die an einem Aufsteller angepriesene Tapas Platte Barcelona für p.P. € 23,98.- wurde mit 4 Euro mehr ( wie auf der eigentlichen Karte) pro Person berechnet mit dem Argument, daß Angebot gelte nur bis 17 Uhr ( die Bestellung war um 16:30 ) . Bei Brotnachbestellung wurde eine Dipplatte mit Brot und Oliven für Knapp 7 Euro gebracht. Insgesamt besteht der Eindruck, dass hier Touristen, die nur einmal herkommen abgezockt werden. Das Essen selbst war befriedigend aber sicher nicht das Geld wert.

Duur, minieme porties, sangria zonder alcohol en vruchten alsnog €30, onvriendelijk personeel. Sinds 1 jaar geleden van goed naar zwaar onvoldoende.

We were only able to get to El Olivo very late due to a fair that lasted until late in the evening. Yet they remained open especially for us. The food was deliciously prepared, we definitely enjoyed it! Hospitable and friendly host. Thank you!

What a crap tent. You should be ashamed of yourself if you own this. Where do I start? Salmon dry, chicken with fat dripping out of it, reheated frozen calamari, patatas bravas that were too hard and I could go on and on. Oh wait the sangria: cloudy with 5 canned grapes. Indicated at service, but no apologies, nothing nada. Shame on you!

Once again a more than pleasant evening in a pleasant atmosphere. Very nice conversation with owner Seyed who invited us to visit his other restaurant HAPP's on the old canal. Of course we will also visit these soon! Recommended for delicious tapas and mixed grill.

Chose the Barcelona tapas menu with a group of friends of 5 people. Quality was poor: salmon too dry, chicken too fatty, squid tough and so on. The liter of Sangria that we ordered looked cloudy, smelled strange and definitely did not taste good. When the waiter asked us if we had enjoyed it and we indicated that we had not, we were merely told to pass this on to the kitchen and nothing further was done. Afterwards he passed us by, sighing, with a look of 'aren't they gone yet?'. The blue spa was fine, although it cost 6.00. Furthermore, the five of us were assigned a strange place at a table with a pole against it, so only 3 sat on one side, 1 on the other side and 1 on the head because there was not enough space left next to the pole. . This restaurant scored dramatically low for me on all fronts.

Price/quality is not in proportion. We certainly do not recommend this restaurant.

The three of us ate here. We ordered the fish dish and it was really delicious. The fish was very fresh and tasty. We were still looking for a location for our 25th wedding anniversary. They informed us that they have a separate room that we can use. We fixed this immediately. The only criticism is that they could have dimmed the lights a little earlier. Disappointing Experience!! We visited the ElOlivo yesterday, and unfortunately, it left much to be desired. We booked a table through El-olie, but when we got there, they said they were full and suggested going to their other place,just 100m away. But it was some other restaurant named Happs. Turns out, Happs had the same menu, but it wasn't what we expected. The food quality fell short of expectations, lacking the authentic flavors we were hoping for. Even the sangria failed to impress, missing the mark on its traditional taste. The saving grace was the courteous staff who tried their best to make up for the culinary letdown. Overall, a disappointing experience that leaves us hesitant to return.

Made a reservation at El Olivo and received confirmation. Once we arrived, it turned out that they were still in the middle of a renovation and we were redirected to Happs. We did not call in advance to ask if we wanted this. In the end, the two of us were the only guests at Happs. Uncomfortable atmosphere, price-quality far below par. Eaten as quickly as possible and get out the door even faster.

Menu Madrid, 34.50 euros. Starter tapas excellent, hot tapas as main course a bit too greasy, but tasted nicely seasoned. So meat and was very heavy food. Coffee with DOM liqueur was good. Sangria was bad, a bit cloudy in color and they forgot to give the 2nd spa red. Entourage was cozy by the window.

The menu looked very promising and the service was friendly. I didn't really like the lighting (too bright) and the seats were dirty. We opted for the shared dining (Ibiza), but there were no vegetables available (although this was stated on the menu). The price for this dish is €32 per person, but I actually think that's too much. The meat was tasty, but served too cold. The promised accompanying sauces (which turned out to be only one type of gravy) were cold. The accompanying bread and tapenda/aioli were tasty as were the potatoes. But vegetables were really missed. As a result, we ordered 2 extra tapas that contained vegetables. The grilled vegetables with cheese tapas + the eggplant with mushroom ragout were very tasty and served warm enough. However, this caused our final bill to increase and our conclusion is that the restaurant is too expensive compared to what is served (and often too cold). Finally, we ordered dessert. We think the Catalan cream came from the freezer and was cold, the center was even colder. It was just one sugar bomb and was deeply disappointing. In short, we cannot say that we would warmly recommend this restaurant, especially because in our opinion the price/quality was not in proportion.

ideale plek!! we hebben hier met familie gegeten, bediening heel sociaal en lief! wij komen zeker terug !!! eten is heerlijk en de sfeer is super fijn

Met pijn en moeite last minute een restaurant gevonden en vanwege het weer wilde we niet de hele stad door lopen. Het was druk, maar niet vol. Mijn vrouw wilde een cocktail. Die hadden ze niet ivm drukte. Raar, maar ok. Na 15 min kwam bediening eten opnemen. Doe maar de vega burger zei mijn vrouw.... Die hebben we niet want die wordt nooit verkocht. Hij staat toch echt op de kaart, maargoed... el Olivo staat nu al met 2-0 achter, en je zou verwachten dat ze voor een gelijkspel of misschien zelfs voor een overwinning zouden gaan. Niets was minder waar. We hebben op het broodje na erg lang op eten gewacht (45 min) zonder het te melden. Wij zelf hadden zelf ook nog geen melding gemaakt want we hadden geen haast. Maargoed, 3-0 achter. Vervolgens kreeg ik mijn entrecote, die ik overigens rood had besteld en die was echt ijskoud van binnen... 4-0. Na een excuus richting ons en boze blik naar de keuken kwam hij na 4 min terug en was hij uiteindelijk prima. De vega tapas waren ook prima. Met een drankje van het huis voor het ongemak, scoorde ze dan voor ons nog een punt. Affijn, het was een 4-1 nederlaag voor El Olivo. Jammer want het is een leuk zaakje. Voor ons helaas niet weer.

Heel matig en veel te duur voor de kwaliteit. Tapasmenu Madrid voor €37,50 pp. Bediening vriendelijk maar in Spanje zouden ze binnen 1 maand failliet zijn.

Prima gegeten, maar onvriendelijke ober. Hij leek niet zoveel zin in zijn shift te hebben en dat was duidelijk te merken. Hij liep opeens zelfs te bedienen met AirPods in zijn oren, gewoon ronduit asociaal. Op een gegeven moment was hij ook lange tijd verdwenen, terwijl we allang wilden betalen. Ook raar dat je per see 2 tapas per persoon moet bestellen (voor geval je niet zoveel trek hebt). 1 keer en nooit meer.

Een tapasmenu gegeten. Brood met dipjes en koude hapjes vooraf. Daarna warme gerechtjes, allemaal even lekker. Alleen jammer dat het warme in 1x kwam, in 2 (of 3x) hadden wij persoonlijk fijner gevonden. Aan de smaak lag het niet, alles erg smaakvol

We zijn gaan eten met een vriendengroep en hadden allemaal tapas mix. De kwaliteit van het eten oké, niet bijzonder. Was leuk gepresenteerd en prima mix. De hoeveelheid was net aan. De kaasplank als dessert is teruggestuurd, deze was ronduit slecht.

Dit was ronduit slecht. Vrijdagavond, Utrecht centrum, alles vol en Olivo was leeg. (We hadden het moeten weten). De jongen in de bediening kan er niet veel aan doen, maar het niveau van dit restaurant is blijven hangen op de standaard van het jaar 2000. Het bier van de tap (Mahou) smaakte alsof dit al langer stond aangesloten maar niet wordt geschonken. Sangria wordt gemaakt met fruit uit blik en is erg zoet. Het eten is niet bijzonder vers; gehaktballen zijn droog en saai, garnalen uit de vriezer en de meloen met ham een aanfluiting; nog niet de moeite gedaan om 2 plakken ham van elkaar te trekken en mooi te decoreren. En dan betaal je dik 100 eur voor 6 tapas, 2 bier en een karaf slechte sangria. Met al het aanbod in Utrecht is dit geen aanrader. Mij zien ze nooit meer terug.

Samen met mijn vriend ben ik uit eten gegaan, wat we overigens niet vaak doen. We waren teleurgesteld door het eten wat oké was. Door de prijs hadden we wat hogere verwachtingen gekregen. Ook hebben we bij de serveerder aangegeven dat we de brood met dip misten wat op de kaart stond aangegeven, waarna hij had gezegd dat dit niet bij de gekozen optie hoorde. Thuis hebben we de kaart nog eens gecheckt en dit bleek wel waar te zijn. Geen ramp maar het telde wel op bij de teleurstellingen. Bij het afrekenen is er vergeten door te geven dat we studenten zijn, waarmee je 20% korting kan krijgen. Helaas kon dit niet worden opgelost en zijn we weggegaan met een teleurgesteld gevoel door het middelmatige eten en de te voor ons gevoel te hoge prijs die we hebben betaald.

Was een heel gezellige avond met lekker eten! Met korting van de lidl.

Heerlijk eten en gezellig en snel personeel

Dit is de tweede keer dat ik hier ben geweest, en hebben nogmaals heerlijk gegeten. Complimenten naar de kok, en de gastheer. Ook komt de eigenaar een gezellig en leuk praatje maken als hij aanwezig is. Persoonlijk vind ik dat juist gezellig.

Heerlijk gegeten! Het interieur kan z'n draai niet vinden tussen hippe tent en klassiek muurbeschilderd oud restaurantje, maar dat doet aan de kwaliteit van de service en het eten niets af!

Afgelopen maandag hebben we hier met z’n drieën gegeten en complimenten aan de chef, het was echt heel lekker. Bovendien was hij, net als de bediening, super vriendelijk. Het laatste rondje tapas moest een beetje snel komen omdat we de film moesten halen en ook dat was geen probleem. Een aanrader!
