What a fantastic restaurant! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is incredibly delicious. The atmosphere is homey and inviting, inviting you to simply be yourself. The concept is fantastic because you can try so many different things on the menu. All the dishes I tried would have been worth serving as a complete meal, but this way you can be surprised time and again by something delicious. There are so many Zusjes, I'm absolutely certain this won't be the last time I eat there.

Enjoy a meal together with a delicious wine. The building has a cozy feel, and combined with the excellent service, you have a wonderful evening. We'll definitely be back.

The food was delicious, with plenty of variety, so there was something for everyone. We were well-served by Sanne, and we never had an empty drink. The atmosphere was great, with some nice music playing. The place looked super cozy. All in all, we'll definitely be back!

Tapas concept doesn't really work. Some things just aren't as tasty as appetizers.

The staff is very friendly and the location is beautiful. Only the service could be faster. We were there from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and had a total of 10 dishes, including dessert, which is 5 rounds. That's not much for €40 per person.

Cozy restaurant. They regularly came to ask if everything was to our liking. We were even assigned a seat when we experienced some inconvenience from a large group (which we were told beforehand when making the reservation). We had the most wonderful lunch here last week! The food was absolutely perfect, so tasty and beautifully presented. The interior is lovely and very ambient. But what made it so special was the wonderful staff. Our waiter was so kind and genuine, and really made our visit special. Thank you so much - we wish we had time to visit again, maybe next time! 😊

Beautiful location and lovely restaurant. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing and nothing special. The desserts were delicious, especially the Bastogne Parfait, the failed apple pie, and Mars Mousse. The other dishes were very disappointing, such as the steak tartare and hamburger. The service was also friendly, but not fast.

We found it quite expensive, even compared to other restaurants with the same concept. And that didn't include drinks. Most of the food wasn't tasty or was cold, a small piece of meat with a large dollop of sauce. The slips of paper you're supposed to write your order on weren't immediately replenished when they ran out. The host also kind of asked for a tip by asking if he should give back the rest of the money I'd given, which didn't seem right. Other than that, we had a pleasant evening together.

This was a memorable evening. The food was excellent, and we had a wonderful time. We opted for the most expensive option at €42 per person, which allows you to eat as much as you like. Trying the entire menu in one evening is impossible, of course. Absolutely fantastic.

Tuesday walk in, they quickly found us table and were helpful with ordering and menu. Very nice staff and food was delicious, happy we finally got in since every night we walk by and it was busy and people having good time -

We stumbled upon this place, made a reservation – and almost cancelled it because of the mixed reviews. But in the end we spent a lovely evening in a nice atmosphere and were pleased with our experience. Of course: This is not fine dining, but it’s tasty food and has a variety of dishes you will not find in any other restaurant. And it‘s also ideal if you are hungry and don’t want to wait as long as in other places.

We've already visited several 't Zusje locations, and this one is truly beautiful. What's special is that the charming building on the Oudegracht canal extends under the street and all the way to the top. The staff is efficient, attentive, and personable (they know, for example, who the birthday boy is and who ordered which drinks). You often hear that foreign staff in the hospitality industry only speak English, but here they've clearly made an effort to speak Dutch.

Although it's all nicely decorated, as a couple, you're placed very close to another couple. There's a tiny partition between them, making it feel like you're sitting at a table with strangers. The acoustics are very poor.

What a unique concept! By utilizing the different spaces, it never feels crowded, and you're not bothered by the neighbors. It gave me a claustrophobic feeling when we walked downstairs, but that feeling quickly disappeared. We ordered the all-you-can-eat option, and that turned out to be a good thing. There are so many different appetizers to try. And I have to admit, they're all equally well-prepared and delicious. Would you recommend it? In this case, I don't have to think about it for long: If you enjoy a cozy atmosphere at the table, absolutely! Update: We went for a second time. This time we sat upstairs. We again thoroughly enjoyed the small dishes, some with a twist. And there will definitely be a third and a fourth time...

It is a nice place to eat, but the time we were there it didn't go completely well at first, but as it got busier some wrong dishes were delivered, which is a shame. We have been to the sister restaurant in Rotterdam and Arnhem and we liked it better.

After a emotionally charged funeral elsewhere in the city center, we went to 't Zusje with our family for dinner. We're familiar with the concept and have been here for the third time. We were assigned a spacious round table, and Indy was our host. The service was fast and friendly, and the rounds came quickly because we put our notes in the table immediately after setting up the stand. We were tired and hungry, and they quickly noticed. All the tapas were delicious, and we were able to fill our bellies to our satisfaction in five rounds. One downside, however, is that when you ask for a carafe of water, you get a small 0.7-liter bottle for which they charge a hefty price, even though we also ordered other drinks. It would be nice if this were simply placed on the table as a standard extra, as an added bonus to the already expensive food.

First time eating at 't zus. I was familiar with the concept but was curious if it would live up to the average. The answer is simple: no. We had the Burgundian lunch for 42 euros, which means you can eat as much as you like. There's a lot of choice and some really tasty dishes, but also a lot of mediocre ones. After 8 dishes, we were quite full, which comes to 5.25 for the basic dish. Now I can't help but compare the price/quality with La Cubanita. Also mediocre, but 15 euros cheaper. So that's an easy choice. Then there's the service: I had to walk to someone twice with my list because they hadn't been picked up. The waitress started rolling her eyes because she thought it was all taking too long (what do you expect with 14 people?). Luckily, there was a more senior person who took care of everything. And then there's the atmosphere: beautiful place, pleasant location, lovely terrace by the water.

Nothing special stood out in terms of tapas. Almost all the tapas had an unnecessary extra element that felt more like filling. Service was a bit chaotic and sometimes took a while, which I think is often the case with these kinds of events. The location is beautiful, though.

Went to the sister restaurant because it is a well-known chain and is promoted a lot on the internet. The service was really good and did its best, hence 3 stars and some tip. Despite that, it often took 45 minutes between courses. The table next to us also complained to the service. The snacks are small so it would be better if they came a bit faster than this. You can sit all evening but still, this really takes a lot longer than the average catering establishment. Rather pay a bit more and have less crowds/faster snacks. We really didn't like most of the snacks, other all you can eat or tapas restaurants did this much better. A lot tasted really ready-made so I don't understand why it should take so long with everything. I would really skip it!

Food was generally ok, not fantastic, you can probably cook better yourself. Furthermore, with the butter chicken you have to be lucky whether there is a piece of chicken in it or whether it is just sauce. The chicken satay does not have sauce, although it is stated on the menu, but you do get a lot of noodles with it. Creme brulee was not tasty, very thin layer with a huge thick layer of sugar. Ordered the same dishes with several people and it was the same for everyone. Service was good, although you have to be patient for the kitchen. Finally, it was very noisy inside.

We had an all you can eat Burgundian meal and it tasted excellent.

Not bad for my gluten-free diet

Had to wait a very long time for food and drinks. 17 hours in and only 20 minutes later the first drink. There was more than 35 minutes between rounds of food. Considering that you can only order two dishes per person at a time and they are also very small, you are mainly waiting for food instead of having a nice evening. I will not come back here in any case. Staff and management are slow and inexperienced. Too bad, because the concept is very nice.

Enjoyed a fun bachelor party menu

Teleurstellende ervaring bij Het Zusje Utrecht Normaal gesproken schrijf ik nooit reviews, maar deze ervaring moet ik toch even delen. Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen, ging het mis. De bediening liep zó snel voor ons uit dat we letterlijk achter hen aan moesten rennen naar onze gereserveerde plek – die vervolgens gewoon bezet bleek te zijn. We moesten dus wachten op een andere tafel, terwijl we wel gereserveerd hadden. Eenmaal aan tafel werd er niets uitgelegd over het concept van het eten, waardoor we zelf maar iemand moesten aanspreken. De eerste serveerster vergat het kaartje te brengen, dus moesten we opnieuw iemand roepen. Uiteindelijk kregen we uitleg, maar toen begon het lange wachten pas echt. We kozen voor het Bourgondische concept in de hoop lekker te eten, maar na een uur (!) kwam pas het eerste gerecht – en dat was lauw. Omdat het allemaal zó lang duurde, besloten we over te stappen op het 4-gangenmenu om het proces wat te versnellen. Groot was de verbazing toen we aan het eind alsnog de volledige rekening van €100 moesten betalen – voor 4 mini-gerechtjes met z'n tweeën. Toen we aangaven dat we voor het 4-gangenmenu wilden, werd er even ‘nagevraagd’, maar uiteindelijk kon dat natuurlijk ineens niet meer. Kortom: een dramatische avond met slechte service, matig eten, veel verwarring en een flinke rekening. Voor ons geen tweede keer meer.

You are warmly welcomed and the food was really great! But unfortunately we had to wait more than an hour for our food, and that is just not acceptable. That brought the whole experience down. Last time in Tzusje Utrecht, hopefully the service is better in other locations.

Had dinner last Monday. It was delicious. Every dish tastes right. Very friendly service too.

Vanavond hier met 12 gedineerd. Tegelijk dineerde een andere grote groep naast ons, wat een rumoerig geheel maakte. De werfkelder galmde enorm waardoor iedereen harder ging praten. De opties op het menu vond ik uitgebreid en smakelijk. Ook voor een vegetariër als ik. Echter vond ik de smaak van enkele gerechtjes zoals de börek weinig authentiek. Verder vond ik het personeel vriendelijk en werden de gerechtjes redelijk snel bezorgd. Dit maakte het tot een aangename ervaring.

Staff was friendly, but if you sit outside, little attention is paid to you. 50 minutes between arriving and getting your first round of food is quite a long time.

We were warmly welcomed and were allowed to choose our own table, which unfortunately says all the positives. Our first ticket was only collected after 15 minutes and we then had to wait 25 minutes. After sitting for 45 minutes we had only had 1 course. Staff have walked past our table several times. We had already put the tray in the stand but no one took it. I found this very scandalous, even though size 5 tables were occupied during our visit to the sister. In course 2, one of us had grandma's pulled pork that was left behind because it was not even properly cooked and the cheese croquette was cold. We only got round 3 after an hour and a half and we had a small classic USA burger where the cheese was completely black on the bottom and hard, it was also stuck to the burger, so we left it behind, a cheese croquette was also ordered during these rounds but it was also warm. German steak was also left behind because it was very tough. This experience was really quite terrifying. Especially for the price we unfortunately paid for it.

At half past six we got our table, in the middle of the course. Our daughter almost had a tray hit her several times. As a result, the table itself shifted a bit more. After 20 minutes we got someone at the table for something to drink and a sandwich beforehand. He said he was going to get a children's placemat/menu, but we never received it. We didn't see anyone at our table anymore, except someone who brought the drinks. Several employees walked by, but none of them were 'the right person' to help us further. We then left at half past seven as we had not yet been helped (other tables that arrived later than us had). When we indicated this when leaving, they said that this was annoying and whether we wanted to pay for our drinks...! We did this, but of course we will never come here again!

Very tasty food. Atmosphere was also very good. We were here for the first time after a day of shopping in Utrecht. The boy who served us (with Dutch/English accent) explained everything to us about the concept, nothing was too much for him, super friendly. And the food was delicious! Everything fresh and well prepared, tasted good and looked really tasty. We enjoyed it. We will definitely come back when we are in Utrecht again.

We had a really delicious meal here! The choice of small dishes is very wide, so there is something tasty for everyone. Our daughter has to eat gluten-free and this was also well catered for: plenty of choice. And we were called in advance to inform them that there would always be a risk of cross-contamination. And so we had the choice. Very nice and very cozy!

Beautiful restaurant, warmly decorated. It is located on a quiet corner on the Oude Gracht. They have a nice sunny terrace on the canal. The restaurant itself is located upstairs at street level as well as in the basement. Food is good but not really great. The rounds of tapas dishes also take a long time to arrive. The staff is very friendly and speaks Dutch. Great for an evening meal with family or friends. Also very suitable for a date that requires warm clothing.

Vandaag met vrienden bij 't Zusje geweest in Utrecht. Dit was een hele leuke en gezellige middag. Dit is voornamelijk te danken aan ober Jacob door zijn vriendelijkheid en humor! Ook voor zwangere vrouwen wordt goed rekening gehouden. Je krijgt een apart menu en je eten wordt gelabeld gebracht. Wij komen zeker terug!!!

You wait too long for your food here. The portions are so small that you actually leave hungry. We then got up after the 2nd round to go eat somewhere else.

The dishes are small but deceptively tasty. Before you know it, you've tasted half the menu. The atmosphere is great, the service is friendly and fast, and the desserts… let's just say I'm considering living there permanently. In short: an evening at 't Zusje is highly recommended!

Very nice concept, nice atmosphere and delicious food. The homemade ice tea was served in an original way. The chosen snacks arrive quickly enough (it wasn't that busy, so I don't know if this is the case when it's really busy). Our hostess was very friendly. The only downside is that when more guests leave, the temperature drops considerably. This is also the reason why they get 4 stars instead of 5 from me.

Dishes were delivered quickly, but some dishes had no special taste and could have been fresher. I would have preferred less choice but tastier dishes! We also had a nice evening.

Food was really DELICIOUS. Only a very long wait between all the dishes (+/-45 minutes), so after 2.5 minutes we left with a big appetite. We did get some discount on the price. Restaurant was beautiful, cozy and large. Only the atmosphere was less because the tables around us also had to wait very long and the people became grumpy. Moreover, the restaurant was not busy.
