Cozy place, delicious food and friendly staff!

Lovely staff, cozy, affordable, delicious food

Food dry and prepared without love. For instance, the mushrooms were shriveled and without sauce, the garlic butter on the shrimp dried out and without sauce, and the spareribs dried out. I also received a drink from a bottle that had already lost its fizz, and there was no ice with it. Everything was mediocre and served without garnish (whereas normally this is the case). I used to be a fan, but I will never return.

We had a delicious meal. It wasn't too loud, so you could understand each other perfectly. It was just a shame that the serving staff left all the plates on the table, meaning I could barely stretch my arms.

The interior and the building itself need a renovation. The waitress(es) were very friendly and helpful.

Having to wait at least 20 minutes for every round, only to receive cold dishes that are normally supposed to be warm/hot. They were short on staff due to the holidays. But when there are 2 people on the floor, 1 behind the bar, and 3 in the kitchen, and the restaurant had a maximum of 7 tables, this is not what you want. I ended up having to wait 30 minutes for the last two dishes, and then time ran out. I would not recommend this location. I wasn't the only one with complaints that evening.

It was very busy; the staff couldn't keep up with the demand for drinks. We were with a large group and received three platters with the chef's menu, after which we could order ourselves. It didn't get that far, and we left early. I have eaten at La Cubanita several times, but I have never experienced anything like this before.

Good food, certainly for that price. The staff was young but very friendly and hard-working. Went again a month later and it was terrible. The food was cold, the staff didn't know what they were doing, walking past full tables with an empty tray, the bar was completely full of junk, the sink and toilet were clogged, loose paper on the stairs that wasn't cleaned up when they stepped on it, and the table was sticky. The quality really depends on which chef is in the kitchen. The service was severely substandard.

Unlimited Stez package. The Stez was sold out, as were several other dishes. The meal took a long time to arrive and was often not tasty. We had to leave earlier than indicated. The staff did work hard and were friendly.

Drinks came very slowly, but otherwise the staff was very sweet and the food was amazing.

The food was tasty, but it's a shame that not much was cleared away. Our table was constantly filled with all the empty plates and glasses. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for the food.

What a disappointing experience. My best friend and I thought we would go out for dinner at La Cubanita in Utrecht after a fun day out. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as pleasant as we had hoped. The service was abrupt and took a very long time, the food was cold, and what was supposed to be cold was hot. We had to wait a very long time for the food; for several items, we had to wait 30-45 minutes. Unfortunately, the quality was also substandard; I had ordered the pulled chicken tacos and received the unpleasant surprise of Smarties in and around the dish. There is also something to be said about the hygiene; the glasses were dirty, there were bits floating in my apple juice, and we were served piping hot glasses. When paying the bill, we were given the excuse that it was very busy, even though quite a few tables were still empty. Unfortunately, this is not what we are used to from La Cubanita…

Excellent, varied, and very affordable food. No wonder it was busy, but the staff handled everything quickly and efficiently. A great tapas menu!

I love La Cubanita, but I personally didn't find this branch very pleasant. It is very busy there (understandably), but it is very cramped; you sit too close to the other tables, and the volume is so high that my friend and I both got headaches from it and couldn't concentrate enough for a normal conversation because of the loud neighbors. Compared to a few years ago, the menu is also different, and unfortunately, that is not an improvement. After arrival and the initial explanation, there was little contact with the staff. And there could sometimes be a 30-minute difference between dishes you ordered in the same round. Towards the end, I was still waiting for a dish, but it took so incredibly long (even after asking) that we just went to pay and left. Unfortunately, this was not worth the money.

Great concept! We reserved Cuba Completa, which means you can eat and drink unlimitedly all evening with 5-minute breaks between courses. You can order a maximum of 6 courses at a time using the QR code on the table. It took a little figuring out how the QR code works, but in practice, it is very easy. Regarding drinks, you can order pitchers of sangria ranging from large to small, as well as glasses of beer, wine, and soft drinks. We had a delicious meal from 18:00 to 23:30, which is proportionally much longer than the 3.5 hours of most all-you-can-eat concepts. The staff is super friendly and hospitable, and for a low price, you get a whole night out.

Never eating in Utrecht again. In a word: terrible experience! After more than 50 minutes, a tapa for my grandson. I still hadn't received anything at all! "Sorry," they said, "it's busy." It was very quiet and not busy at all. "Sorry, we have a staff shortage," they said instead. Etc. Etc. The food was downright bad. Chicken skewers were dry and tasteless; battered fish in thick breadcrumbs and white fish. Small steak dry and overcooked. Shrimp: sometimes 3, sometimes 2 pieces; ice cream in very small cardboard cups and a total lack of attention to serving desserts, empty bowls were hardly ever cleared; salmon pieces dry and tasteless, etc. Etc. Bad La Cubanita. A waste of money and a huge disappointment for my grandchild and me. We were offered a drink as compensation, though. Never going to this place again. Terrible!

Delicious food in a cozy little restaurant.

Food averagely OK, service was generally smooth, but sometimes dishes we ordered earlier didn't arrive until 1 or 2 rounds later, so we thought about ordering again for the next round, but then everything came at once. There were 5 of us, and that was fine at the round table at the front by the window. The draft next to the front door is noticeable, but personally, I prefer a bit of draft and fresh air to feeling stuffy and cramped.

Carpaccio without lettuce, pesto, and pine nuts. Chicken salad without chicken, corn tastes like meat, dessert barely filled, bad app.

Great tapas restaurant - we rarely had such well-balanced, flavourful (non-alcoholic) cocktails and all tapas we tried were delicious!

The food was very good, with many options to choose from, and portions are not too large to try something new. It is a very cozy place and a good spot for a pleasant evening out. The only thing worth mentioning is the staff. At the beginning, everything was cleared away properly. However, for some reason, our glasses were not cleared, after which they left the rest of the table untouched as well. It can be seen in the photo.

The atmosphere and service are fine, but the food is truly substandard. With such a large menu, you can naturally expect this, but much of it is simply bought in pre-packaged. Even the bruschetta isn't homemade. I would also skip the house wine; it barely tastes like wine. All in all, there are 100 places in Utrecht where you can eat much better for this price.

Felt rushed, seated in a draft at the front door, came inside, just look for a free one, found one, yes, but not at this table. Last time I'm eating at La Cubanita in Utrecht.

The food is fine, but the staff is terrible. They prioritize smoking and chatting over working.

We wanted to have a nice bite to eat here on Sunday evening, but despite the staff eating their noses out and chatting happily, we were turned away because it was supposedly busy. Mind you... There were only two or three tables full. And the reservation option was open after 6:30 PM, so we could have just had a bite to eat. We're familiar with the concept in other cities, which makes it extremely disappointing how we were treated last night in Utrecht!

Absolutely deserved 5 stars! We were supposed to eat here with colleagues, but due to an accident, some of us unfortunately couldn't make it on time. We didn't let them know until late, even though the rest of the group was already there. Despite this, we received incredibly friendly and understanding service; it wasn't a problem at all. They even let the latecomers in an hour before closing time, and they really went above and beyond to ensure they could still enjoy a delicious meal. That's pure hospitality and service! A 10/10 experience with super friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

Really tasty food, the food was served at a good pace.

The food is absolutely excellent. Meat dishes are a bit more limited if you don't eat pork, but perfectly manageable. Desserts are delicious. Our highlight was the sangria, which was delicious.

We had a fantastic evening. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were great. It was a bit crowded, but that didn't spoil the fun. If I ever visit Utrecht again, I'll definitely come back.

The atmosphere was relaxed, with friendly and attentive service. The food itself was okay, but nothing more. Some portions were very meager, such as the buffalo mozzarella/peach; the mozzarella pieces had to be searched for with a magnifying glass. The steaks were tasty, if they hadn't been overcooked and were now as tough as leather. The fish and green asparagus stew, on the other hand, was very tasty. I wouldn't go back for the food, but I would go for the ambiance. It just depends on what you're looking for. If you enjoy flavorful dishes, prepared with love and care and in the right proportions, I'd stew it. If you enjoy having drinks with a group and occasionally snacking, it can be a nice place, thanks in part to the friendly staff.

The food was delicious, and it arrived quickly after ordering. It was my birthday (September) and I got a free meal, but I had to pay for my drinks. We ordered two cocktails per person. This arrangement cost us more than if we'd just paid for my food. That was a shame.

After spending a fortune on the parking garage, we were hoping for a pleasant, atmospheric evening of tapas and dinner. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth; there was absolutely no atmosphere. The food was either overcooked or seemed reheated... the steak didn't even look cooked, but rather cooked or reheated... the shrimp were overcooked. The staff were all youngsters who seemed to be playing games on the computer instead of checking if people wanted drinks. After 1.5 hours, we'd had enough and left the already exorbitantly expensive parking garage two hours earlier than planned. We won't be returning.

It was boiling hot outside, but even hotter inside...unbearable. The food was okay. Half of it was tasty and good, but the other half wasn't great. Nothing special; it seemed like pre-made food that had been reheated. It was nice once, but I wouldn't repeat it.

Everything was delicious. Everything was warm, crispy, and just as it should be.

It started well, with good quality, but as it got busier, the quality deteriorated. The quantity of orders also decreased. We were quite early, but it turned out some of the food had already run out. The atmosphere was pleasant, though, and the service was very friendly.

The prawns in garlic oil were prawns dried out under a heat lamp with dried-out oil, the steak cubes were one piece of meat melted together, the spare ribs were one piece of dry meat... really not satisfied with the food! And the food was thrown on the table; we didn't get our food at the same time.

The chip shop was out of order. Half the menu was unavailable. A shame, as I always like to start with the squid rings. Unfortunately, they weren't available until we were ready for dessert. We ordered anyway, but were already full. Also, many dishes weren't what we'd expected at other La Cubanitas, such as the Manchego sauce without it, no lemon with the squid rings, and so on.

The service is excellent. The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. Every time I go, I enjoy it. It's my favorite place.

The menu was minimal because the deep fryers wouldn't turn on. This wasn't mentioned beforehand. The rest of the tapas, which were supposed to be hot, were actually cold—stomping cold. Some dishes, for example, lacked sauce even though you hadn't requested it. We've been to La Cubanita before, and it's always good, but this one in Utrecht was truly awful. A big bow to the waitresses, though. They handled all complaints courteously and remained exceptionally friendly.

out of all tapas we ordered we received half. Would not recommend this tapas place at all.

On a quiet Tuesday evening, you expect good service and good food. You have to ask for drinks six times or go to the bar. The food is inconsistent. One time a small portion, the next twice as much of the same thing. Burnt food, too. The croutons were so greasy, they were inedible. I won't be back.

Mwoah…food not that bad but it could be better and much more refined. In addition, the cheaper dishes are also large portions so you get full faster. Steak tips were tough, a lot of dishes with bacon in them and the fried chicken pieces seem to be in kitchen syrup instead of honey mustard sauce. Cocktails not expensive but in mine the rum was not detectable. No, not for me anymore.

Don't go here in hot weather. It's terribly hot inside. The food is fine and the cocktails are nice.

Had a nice evening and enjoyed the food. One downside was that coffee was not available that evening and one particular dessert was finished at 8 o'clock.

The food was very tasty and the service was really good, but we waited at least 45 minutes per round for a maximum of 4 tapas dishes (could also be due to the Ascension Day crowds), but that was a shame and because of this we sat in the restaurant for 3.5 hours.

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. My girlfriend cannot sit at high tables for medical reasons, but upon arrival it turned out that all low tables were occupied or unavailable. We were forced to sit at a high table, despite having indicated this in advance. Very unfortunate and uncomfortable. In addition, we were served the wrong dishes twice. The service remained friendly and apologized, but the mistakes piled up. The food itself was reasonable, but not special enough to compensate for all this. All in all, not a pleasant evening and not worth repeating for us.

Last week I ate at La Cubanita, I did the Cuba Completa so that you have everything included, this costs you about 36.50, then you don't get cocktails and other expensive drinks, which is understandable. I do think it's a shame that we often got the wrong drinks, I don't make a big deal about it, but I thought it was mediocre. In addition, the waitresses were very busy with other guests, and often forgot us. The food was fine, but you got mediocre food, I expected more, but oh well! In addition, I got sick from it, and I think that's a shame, I would come back, but I think it's a shame with the total picture! In addition, I thought it was really hot, and it was really small so it was very stuffy.

It was very hot upon arrival, my friend felt unwell, but the staff helped us very friendly and because we left very quickly we did not have to pay the entire amount. Very nice service. Thank you!

Had an excellent meal during the week with Cuba Completa, everything was great. Except for the brownie which turned out to be a rocky road without the caramel sauce and pecans. Oh well, you always keep that little thing!

Nice, atmospheric restaurant. The food is very good and the service is friendly. The new concept La completa is great! I always share all the dishes with my guest so that we can try everything we like. This also includes the desserts that can be shared. It is also fun to try a cocktail for a reduced price.

Very nice concept, tapas to eat different classic dishes. Order 2 small dishes per person at the table every 10 minutes. A fair price for what you get. Unfortunately, the deal including drinks is not valid on weekends. The fish a bit thin and floating in butter. The pork tenderloin was very tender and the ribs were nicely seasoned. Steaks were nice and pink on the inside. Desserts were very tasty although the size between them was very variable. (The 2 cakes are a lot larger than the other desserts.) I will highly recommend this place if you can't make a choice, just try everything you like.

Cozy place to dine in the city with a group or just the two of you, something for everyone on Mexican tappas

My first dish was lukewarm, not much chicken in the salad and the selection was also much less than before. The products were on the table quickly, which is nice and the girls were very friendly, although they sometimes brought the wrong dishes.

Had a great meal last night! We wanted to use our AH vouchers and there was some confusion about this afterwards. I left a little disappointed, but I was called an hour later and helped enormously because it had ended a bit unpleasantly, the manager himself thought. What great service and very nice employees, I will definitely come back :)

After some bad experiences at other locations, I tried again. It is and remains not a good concept for me. Nice and attentive staff. Food remains from mediocre to microwave quality. I don't think this is recommended.

It's a weird thing because some of the food we ordered goes to another table. Ordering drinks also takes a long time. One of us has been waiting for beer for half an hour.

Surprisingly tasty! It is of course a chain, but the tapas was actually quite tasty and above the level you often get in the Netherlands. The price is also completely fine. Staff is also friendly.

Had dinner here tonight. The location is small and well packed with tables, so you're already in the neck of the person sitting next to you. In addition, it is extremely noisy there. The food we received was 80% lukewarm and took quite a while to be served, especially at the beginning. Each time we had just ordered a new round before the dishes from the round before arrived. Eventually I filed this complaint with the service. Unfortunately, nothing was done with this other than a comment to the kitchen. Not worth repeating for us.
