Wonderful evening of drinks with family. Price-quality ratio is much better than the competition. Everything is fresh, no mini portions, and the concept where the waiters walk around with the pinchos and offer them is very nicely done.

Iberico ribs and pork cheeks super tasty. Many other tasty dishes. Butttt....terrible tables. Downstairs terrible acoustics. Couldn't understand each other. Upstairs a bit better, but still very bad. But then again you had those high tables with uncomfortable chairs. I won't be back. Too bad actually, because the food was good.

This is just a magical place with a soul!! Right from the start you can feel the cozy atmosphere. The nicely waitresses welcomed us with a smile and made sure we felt at home. They were helpful and always showed up at the perfect moment. The varied menu turned an ordinary friendly dinner into a unique feast, full of rich flavors and beautiful colors. There was something amazing in every meal. An incredible adventure for the taste buds!! Chef Manuel took care of every detail of the prepared dish. He is very talented cook who makes people happy eating his meals. The quality is at a very high level, still at attractive prices. This place is definitely created by people with passion. We will come back :)

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. The only downside is that the 2nd shift starts at 8:15 PM and there are already many cold Pinchos at 9 PM.

We had a delicious meal last Sunday evening, which in our opinion was excellent value for money. It was not super busy but certainly not quiet either, so there was a good atmosphere: pleasant restaurant buzz and enough time for attentive service from the attentive two gentlemen serving. We sat at the bar and enjoyed all the delicious tapas and the pistachio dessert. We'll be back soon!

I know pinxos. I have been to the Basque Country at least 20 times. That wouldn't have been necessary at all, because in Utrecht they can do that trick better than the Basques themselves

Great concept with tapas, cold snacks that you can choose from and hot snacks that are passed around and you can always decide whether or not to use them. Delicious food in a real Utrecht wharf cellar!

Good quality food. Friendly service. Nice location on the canal. What was unfortunately disappointing was that the stock of cold pintxos was almost gone each time, and (at 7 p.m.!) it was said that a large number would no longer be made. The choice wasn't great, so we had to make do with that. Strange to have to announce this to your customers on a Sunday evening. I didn't find the excuse that “it is busier than on other Sundays” very strong.

Very cozy place to eat and very friendly staff. However, with some exceptions, the tapas and pinchos were a bit bland in taste. ''Just'' tasty, but I expected to be positively surprised and to encounter some more exciting ingredients. Perhaps too high expectations due to the high number of stars here. End on a positive note: Pork cheek and cheesecake are highly recommended.

We always liked coming to De Zwarte Vosch, but after yesterday we thought it was a bit overpriced. The atmosphere is good and the food is tasty, but we were quite shocked by the bill: 160 euros for two (big eaters) people. Previously we were also more surprised by the warm pinxtos with which they arrive, but this time they were not so interesting and not so regular. All in all a nice place, but for tapas it's a bit pricey!

Food was not as good as the price promises. Downstairs was also a bit too loud. Service was great tho!

A great pincho bar. Reasonable “easy-drinking” wines, absolutely recommended. It's always very loud here - we like it.

Meh. Wasn't really authentic, very small portions for the price and we were served croquettes that were still frozen inside (sent them back and got new ones that were lukewarm). Tapas were served with the smallest bits of bread for dipping. Friendly but slow service.

The service was done by a Flemish man. As a result, it sometimes took some time to find the meaning of what was asked. Otherwise good service.

Very bad experience at this restaurant twice. This used to be my favorite restaurant but now I definitely don't have any recommendations anymore. The last time the service was very poor (the entire bottom left corner was skipped). Serving the food took a very long time and hot dishes were always served cold. Today I decided to give it another chance. Upon arrival we were asked to wait a while (we did not have a reservation) because the host had to ask the manager whether a table was still available. After us, two others arrived who also turned out not to have a reservation. We were told there was no more room. The two people who came in after us were given a table. As far as we are concerned, that is an incorrect way of acting. They will never see me here again.

Too expensive. We love tapas and pinchos, but the portions are way too small. I have never seen such a small portion of patatas bravas. No value for money unfortunately; a setback.

During our short stop in Utrecht we were craving some tapas, and this place did not disappoint. The food, the service and the concept was awesome. A must visit!

Good restaurant in a great location. Very friendly and attentive staff and a good selection of vegetarian options. Most dishes were excellent (especially the mushroom croquettes and the patatas bravas were great) but some were sub par (spinach omelet, and potato tart pincho) (like they were prepared by a different chef?) not bad enough to send back but also not enjoyable. One other minus point is that smoke from the terrace gets blown in so no smoke free dining on the ground floor, customer health and enjoyment should be more important than that.

Great food, pick up cold pinchos at the bar and the warm pinchos and various delicious tapas will be delivered to your table. Recommended to go to the other side of the canal.

Way too expensive, not reasonable. Way too small portions. For example, 14 euros for 6 small shrimps. Adjusting bread for dipping turned out to be difficult, but was not given after asking 3 times. Left hungry

Delicious food (both traditional and more unique tapas) and good service. The concept is very nice: order partly from the menu, partly choose from the display case and partly choose when they walk by. More expensive than "standard tapas" but standard tapas are often only fried or with oil, garlic and salt, that is certainly not the case here

The atmosphere was amazing! We had dinner in the border of the canal where ducks swam along. The staff was so kind and friendly. The food was delicious and everything looked clean and tidy :)

Extremely bad place, all rastitics did not come to eat!

Delicious food and sitting on the canal. We had tapas and pinchos and liked all the dishes. The service, friendly young people, including 2 Spanish ladies this evening, are friendly and attentive. They walk around a lot, regularly ask if you are happy and if you want something to drink, bring empty glasses and plates, etc. The concept of getting cold pinchos yourself and being offered warm pinchos in itself is quite nice. Only the frequency of offering felt a bit much, especially if you were ordering tapas in between. Well, there is actually only one thing to note about the Black Fox. And those are the prices. We spent almost 150 EUR in 1.5 hours. And that is quite expensive for a tapas restaurant. The tone has been set with 28 EUR for a carafe of Sangria. And at 9~14 EUR per tapas dish and 4+ EUR per pincho pp, things are going fast. It is of course a good location, but compared to other tapas restaurants (e.g. Cafe Brava and boulevard Cerveceria) in the city, the prices here are at least 15% higher/too high.

Beer by the canals... What more could you ask for?

I'm not very enthusiastic about the food here. Mediocre value for money and most of it tasted OK but not fantastic. Aioli sandwich had 6 mini slices of bread and tasteless aioli. Patatas bravas 8.50 for 12 mini potatoes is really very poor and they didn't taste like patatas bravas (had to check 3 times to see what they actually were). The concept with the pinchos is nice and the atmosphere and service are also excellent. That's why still 3 stars.

Very tasty food! Delicious small dishes and nice surroundings! It all went fairly smoothly, making it easy to combine with a visit to Tivoli.

First-class, creative and very high quality tapas. Anyone who loves share dining will be very happy here. Very nice atmosphere and when the weather is nice you can sit right on the Oudegracht. A great experience. The always super nice and warm team makes a visit unforgettable. We've eaten there 4 times and it's always been a special time. It was a pleasure.

Vegetarian options are good, but vegan is quite limited. Still a nice place, great concept and atmosphere.

Fine place for pinchos and tapas. We were with a bigger group and the menu came at the table all at the same time.. the quality is good, the service is good. We had Spanish people in our group and the were surprised with the tapas and pinchos as they were getting so close to what they have back home..

Had a nice seat and a good meal. Only thing would be the backrest that I missed, but maybe that comes with the type of table.

Super fun, tasty place with a really cool concept. A refreshment next to most tapas restaurants. Everything is right, furnishings, music, service. And the food of course :) I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

Erg lekkere tapas gegeten in de mooie kelder aan de Oude Gracht! Een uniek systeem voor tapas in Nederland. Je kiest tapas uit bij de bar (of besteld het) en je krijgt een stokje met een bepaalde kleur die de prijs aangeeft. Dit stokje stop je in een bakje en dit bepaald uiteindelijk de prijs die je betaald. Erg lekker en gezellig!

Orginele pinchos. Niet de standaard tapas. Vlotte goede bediening.

Gezellig restaurant aan de gracht. Met 4 personen lekker gegeten en dat werkt goed met de tapas (per bord heeft iedereen wel wat). Prijs is redelijk. Je bent hetzelfde kwijt als je 3 a 4 tapas pp neemt als in een "gewoon" restaurant. Bediening is vriendelijk en kundig (al spreken er weinig Nederlands😄)

Super goed eten en vriendelijke bediening, kom hier zeker nog eens terug.

Shared dining, met heerlijke gerechtjes! Leuk dat je zelf aan de pincho bar gerechtjes kunt kiezen. Ook komen ze aan tafel langs om afwisselende hapjes aan te bieden. Lekkere wijn erbij en de avond is compleet! Zeker een aanrader!

Heel lekker gegeten met vriendinnen. We hadden beneden een tafel maar door de gewelven was het er zo gehorig dat we elkaar niet konden verstaan. Het personeel loste het goed op en bracht ons na ons eerste rondje tapas naar een vrijgekomen tafel boven, heel fijn! Goed restaurant, leuk concept met de stokjes, alleen jammer dat sommige medewerkers alleen Engels spreken.

Ons bezoek aan Pinchobar De Zwarte Is was een heerlijke ervaring van begin tot eind. De tapas waren een verrukkelijke ontdekkingstocht van smaken, authentiek en toch met een verrassende twist. We hebben bijzonder genoten van het unieke concept waarbij ze langs de tafels komen met warme pinchos, wat de eetervaring nog interactiever en gezelliger maakte. Het meisje dat ons bediende was uitermate vriendelijk en droeg bij aan de positieve sfeer. Een plek waar goed eten en warme gastvrijheid samenkomen. We kijken uit naar ons volgende bezoek!

Gisteren voor het eerst hier gegeten. Het was erg lekker. Ik snap niet dat sommige dit een 7,9 geven. Ik zou voor de 8,1 gaan. Een paar tapas besteld daarnaast bij de koude vitrine geweest en meegedaan met een paar rondes warme pinchos. Mooie afwisseling.

Relaxte sfeer, zeker niet opdringerig Bediening spreekt Engels of Spaans. Attent (muziek niet te hard). Eten is lekker. Er komen gedurende de avond warme hapjes langs die je wel of niet kunt kiezen. Het systeem voor verrekenen was ons niet duidelijk, maar gaat op basis van de stokjes in ieder hapje. Die hebben een kleur en iedere kleur heeft een prijs die op de menu kaart staat. Dat was niet duidelijk verteld, maar was geen probleem.

Pincho's eten is uberhaupt altijd een feestje. De een is lekkerder dan de ander. Maar het is zo leuk om even heen en weer te lopen of een pincho te pakken als ze langs komen lopen. Het concept is superleuk. Personeel is vaak anderstalig, maar dat vind ik juist iets toevoegen. Alsof je even op vakantie bent. De sfeer is druk en gezellig. Net als in Barcelona!

Amazing food with top class service. Chaim and his team took good care of us while we were celebrating our birthdays there. Be prepared to indulge the hot pinchos as the staff bring the fresh selections over your way at the table. Highly recommend this place and will be coming back soon.

Gister was de 2de keer dat ik bij DZV at. De eerste keer vond ik t niet bijzonder genoeg om terug te komen (paar jaar terug), maar deze keer was ik blij verrast! We hebben lekker gegeten gister, vooral de Iberico ribs waren erg lekker. Niet alles was even bijzonder, maar t gros was goed uitgebalanceerd en leuke combi’s van smaken. De Pinchos kwamen, naar ons idee, te weinig voorbij, de warme komen ze mee langs, de koude haal je bij de bar. De 1ste drie rondes pinchos waren steeds vis, niet zo mijn ding, en het eten dat we gewoon besteld hadden, duurde behoorlijk lang. Dus ik had al die tijd niks te eten zeg maar. Niet zo handig, wissel wat meer af zou ik zeggen qua vlees/vis/vega bijv. De bediening beneden daarentegen, die was erg alert en erg vriendelijk. Ze kwamen meerdere keren vragen of we iets nodig hadden, of wilden bestellen etcetera. Dat is uitzonderlijk voor Utrecht of überhaupt eigenlijk in Nederland helaas, zeker in de prijsklasse, dat kom je niet vaak meer tegen, pluspunt! Alleen toen we binnenkwamen werden we eerst aan een 2-persoons tafel gezet en toen bleek dat er gewoon ruimte op t terras was, konden we gelukkig verhuizen. De prijzen vond ik alleen behoorlijk aan de hoge kant (10-15 voor een tapa!). Misschien ligt dat gedeeltelijk aan de inflatie etc, maar we hebben € 55,- pp uitgegeven en voor Tapas vind ik dat toch best wel pittig (en ik had maar 1 drankje op zelfs!) 😖 Nou moet ik erbij vermelden dat ik in Barcelona heb gewoond en dat we nu een huisje id buurt van Marbella hebben, dus we zijn ook andere prijzen van tapas gewend. Maar gaan ook regelmatig naar Gastrobars, zeg maar luxe tapas (2.0) en daar eten we bijzonderder en goedkoper. En als je ergens anders (in NL) een groot hoofdgerecht kunt krijgen voor €15-20, dan zijn die tapas prijzen echt uit verhouding en weerhoudt me ervan om veel vaker te gaan en dat is jammer. Nog een paar tips: de patatas bravas waren lekker, maar zijn geen patatas bravas 🤪 De truffel was ver te zoeken bij de Croquetas en de Croquetas hadden weinig bite van binnen. De crema catalana was een goeie, maar wederom erg prijzig. Een stuk kleiner dan normaal en 8,-!! Das een goeie marge dan! 😳 Behoorlijk goeie churros met goeie ganache erbij! Vandaar ‘maar’ 4 sterren

We hebben de zwarte Vosch gevraagd voor catering. Werkelijk een feestje met de meest mooie en lekkere pinchos! On ze gasten en wijzelf waren zeer enthousiast en zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Een aanrader!!!

Concept is nice but warm pinchos need to be more frequent, we were offered 4 during the whole evening. Cold pinchos were tasty, tapas were excellent. Overall a nice evening be it not for the few warm pinchos. Oh and a bit expensive but I suppose everything is more expensive currently.

Ben net terug uit Spanje, waar ik een langere tijd heb doorgebracht en in die tijd veel aan de tafeltjes van taverna's/eetcafé's te vinden was. Was gisteravond voor het eerst in De Zwarte Vosch. Had al wél alle andere tapasrestaurants in de stad ooit bezocht en geprobeerd. En ik moet zeggen: dít restaurant benadert als enige wat je in een stad als - bijvoorbeeld - Madrid of Sevilla voorgeschoteld krijgt. Smaakvol en zéér gevarieerd. En een gouden idee om pintxos wandelend langs de tafeltjes uit te serveren. Erg smakelijk, dames en heren van De Zwarte Vosch!
