Excellent service and fantastic staff! Best evening ever!

The reviews for this restaurant don't do it justice. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the food is good, and the service is okay. We were there with a social deal. The highlight was dessert, but everything else was good too! We had a great Tuesday evening. One tip: turn the music down a bit.

What a lovely, almost hidden spot in the heart of Utrecht! Friendly and welcoming service and delicious food, ranging from sandwiches with delicious fillings to tapas of your choice. Well worth a stop for a tasty lunch during a day of shopping in Utrecht city center.

A lovely setting by the water. Enjoyed delicious wines and baguettes with dips. Inside, it looked quite atmospheric.

We ate here with the two-course lunch dinner social deal. Lentil and tomato soup were the starters, both delicious! For mains, we ordered a pollo (chicken) sandwich and a veal sandwich with tuna mayonnaise. The chicken sandwich was delicious! The veal sandwich lacked a bit of flavor, but they'd deliberately left it without salt or pepper because of the older guests they often have. Unfortunately, they didn't have any salt or pepper on the table so I could season it a bit more. Besides the two courses, we also shared the almond-liquor 43 cake, which was absolutely delicious! The waiter/bartender was also very friendly and provided excellent service! The location was also beautiful and looked well-maintained inside.

We were here with a Social Deal and were unfortunately very disappointed. When we made our reservation, we had already mentioned that one of us was vegetarian. Yet, we were given meat with our starter. When we pointed this out, we received a lukewarm response. With the main course, which we had to wait over an hour and a half for, things went wrong again: meat again, even though we had clearly indicated otherwise. Moreover, the food itself was nothing special and certainly not what you would expect based on the photos and description. The service seemed unfriendly and disinterested, ignored our comments, and there was no smile. We ultimately skipped dessert and left early. For us: not what it seems and not recommended.

Everything was great, the staff was very friendly, the taste was legendary, thank you, we will definitely come again :)

First, we had a drink outside by the water, and then enjoyed a delicious meal inside at a table reserved for us. Contrary to some other reviews, we received excellent service from the staff.

We ate here with a social deal. The food was incredibly delicious. With a social deal, you often get simpler dishes, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. The service was fast and incredibly friendly. We had a good meal and a lovely evening. The cocktails were a bit mediocre, which didn't quite meet expectations. That's the only point of improvement I can suggest.

We had a few cocktails before dinner, and the service was very professional. The location is excellent, and combined with the beautiful weather, it makes for an incredible experience. We'll be back.

What terrible service. I see a few 5-star reviews here, and they must have been paid for it. The staff is disinterested, unfriendly, and has no idea how to serve someone. You'd get better treatment at an average snack bar. The staff didn't even come to the table themselves. The food was okay, although the chicken satay probably wasn't quite right because it gave me a stomach ache that night. All in all, not recommended.

Had lunch outside on the terrace. Beautiful spot. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very enthusiastic. Only one person was doing almost everything, while the other two gentlemen took turns smoking/taking a break in the middle of the terrace under the stairs. Yes, it was lunchtime, so it was incredibly busy. Great timing, guys! The food was decent; the freshly baked brown bread was tasty but had a tough crust, and my wife had carpaccio on a slice of this bread. It was incredibly tough. The knives weren't sharp enough to cut this tough stuff. All in all, the worst Utrecht terrace experience (out of many good ones) during our weekend getaway.

Great place and location. And with absolutely the best waiter ever. Batuhan was the friendliest and fastest waiter I ever had. Really amazing guy!

Sweet young man, very neat and polite and baby-friendly. He wanted to help lift the car down but it wasn't necessary. Good price and quality. He was politely addressed. First time at this terrace but I thought it was very good!

Pure rip-off! The menus for two people are deliberately charged twice – not a misunderstanding, but clearly a method. The service staff is hopelessly overwhelmed, and complaints simply bounce off the management. The food itself? Mediocre: sometimes overseasoned, sometimes completely tasteless, ingredients cheap and sometimes from cans. For these prices, it's outrageous – definitely not recommended!

On the patio, I ordered a goat cheese salad with figs and roasted pecans. The salad arrived without figs and with unroasted pecans. When I asked for the figs, they said they were out of them. They didn't mention the roasted nuts. I was charged full price for the salad, even though some ingredients were missing! Very strange and not okay!

Absolute rip-off! They deliberately charge twice for meals for two people – not by mistake, but by design. The waiters are completely overwhelmed by the complaints, and the manager accepts the chaos. On top of that, the food is mediocre: sometimes too salty, sometimes bland, even canned mushrooms. Disastrous value for money – never again!

Never seen such a bad appetizer platter. The meat had been sitting there for a week and was extremely dry. It was also very sparse. The location is great, right by the water.

The food and drinks were horrible, the service was not good. The location is really nice however everything else was so bad I do not recommend please do not go here. The service was subpar, it was pretty busy however majority of the time there the waitress were chit chatting in a corner. One of my friends had ordered an amaretto sour and it a brown espresso color and tasted like coffee. Me and another friend ordered a pornstar martini and it tasted just like sugary chemical passion fruit juice with a little bit of vodka. The only really edible item from everything we ordered were the empanadas. The calamari was chewy and stretchy ( took forever to chew). The carpaccio was very thickly sliced. Don’t even get me started on the chicken wings. Overall just don’t go here for anything other than the location and view

Found the perfect spot in Utrecht! Lovely waterfront location, fantastic staff who work hard, you'll definitely feel welcomed here. The food is also deliciously fresh. When I'm back in Utrecht, I'll definitely be back! I'll be back!

A lovely spot on the canal with a terrace, perfect for a nice sit when the weather is nice. There's also seating inside. We had a few drinks and a cheese board, and everything was excellent. The service was friendly, though not always attentive, as you sometimes have to ask if you wanted to order something else. They can be a bit pushy, so you can easily overcome that. All in all, a great place!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch on the charming canal-side terrace – a perfect spot to unwind in the heart of the city. We chose the tuna sandwich and the carpaccio sandwich, both very tasty. Fresh, well-filled, and simply delicious – exactly what you hope for in a good lunch. The service was friendly, fast, and efficient, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. In short: a delicious meal in a prime location, and we're definitely going back!

An average to below average general impression. The waiters try their best I believe. But they were hard to understand, either in dutch or English. And we had the idea they didn't really understand us. The music was weird. Calamaris very dry, tenderloin quite good though. But the patatas bravas were drowned in way too much mayo. Restaurant should normalize putting sauces in a seperate container pls.

Mediocre food! Tables are extremely close together. Service is very nice and they do their best, but there are very few staff! We waited 2 hours for our first tapas dishes, which was compensated with a free drink. Food: variable. Cheesecake was very tasty!

We chose this restaurant because we were craving tapas. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was fine, although it didn't really stand out. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ready and regularly checked whether everything was as expected. This is a great choice for a relaxing evening out.

We really thought it was a joke, we ordered a 3 course menu and as the first course we received a tapas board with 4 types of salad balls, tuna, carrot, beetroot and tjasikie or something that has nothing to do with tapas, it was not on the menu either, it was very strange, we were so surprised that we actually thought we were being pranked, the rest was not great either, all the dishes on the menu were not included in the chef's surprise package

The price/quality is not okay. According to the menu, the main course included fried potatoes, but we only received 1 mini boiled potato. When we asked if we could get some potatoes/fries with it, the waitress said that this was normally not the case, but that she could arrange this. We then received 1 portion of fries which later appeared on the bill for €5. This was just part of the menu, right? We also thought the dessert was out of proportion. A tiny piece of cheesecake for €8!! No next visit for us in any case!

Beautifully situated on the canal, a small restaurant located in an old cellar vault. Very friendly service. We had a 3 course tapas dinner. For purists: it is Middle Eastern oriented and not Spanish. Wide selection, very tasty. Coincidentally, friends were there 2 days earlier, they had some other dishes, so they change regularly.... so you can easily go there more often 😄

Wat een leuke plek en de verassings 3 gangen tapas diner is voortreffelijk. We waren hier terecht gekomen via social deal en we waren aangenaam verrast. Hele leuke locatie, leuke sfeer, vriendelijk personeel en we hebben echt uitmuntend gegeten. 3 volwaardige gangen met voor eenieder wat wils. Bij terugkomst in Utrecht komen we hier zeker nog eens terug.

Very bad food, price-quality disproportionate, we had a 3-course tapas menu, absolutely not recommended, never eaten such bad tapas, it was far too little and what we got was really sad and tasteless, a shame because the location does have potential. .positive note; the cat was very cute

Disappointed. Food was mediocre. Lamb arrived frozen inside. Ran out of drinks before food was brought but no one came to take an order for a new round of drinks. If other places are busy and you have no choice at least stick to the most simple options like a burger.

Bediening was langzaam en niet in staat tot gebruikelijke gezellig praatjes, beetje botte oost Europese meid die gewoon kwam met 'ready to order?' We kwamen binnen en kregen de menu kaarten (die goedkoop geprint zijn en van ellende uit elkaar vallen). Na 20 minuten kwam er een dame dus vragen of we iets wilden, dus we hebben in 1 keer drinken en eten besteld. De burger was prima, wij hadden zelf de twee gangen tapas maar die is... raar. De koude tapas was eigenlijk gewoon dingen van een borrelplank voor bij brood (humus, tonijnsalade, plakje zalm, tzatziki die je kon snijden met een mes). De warme tapas waren ook prima maar de combinatie is gewoon raar. De kaas en de garnalen en de gehaktballen... maak dan een menu dat bij elkaar gaat. Geen dessert want tegen de tijd dat we klaar waren was het meer dan 2 uur na binnenkomst. Is niet meer gevraagd of we nog iets wilden drinken in al die tijd, wel nog iemand gevonden om iets te bestellen. Oh en spelfouten op de kaart. Dus kort samengevat eten is oke maar bediening is ruk en het totaal is het geld niet waard. Hoogtepunt van de avond was een jonge kat die even gezellig binnen kwam wandelen

Cozy terrace on the water, friendly service, delicious food.

I don't recommend this place. We were there with the 3rd me, my mother and sister. The beginning was good, but later the unkind comments, for example to my mother: you definitely want to get drunk. Due to a long wait for the drink we get a different type of drink, when I asked what that is to know we were told ooo would you rather have a bottle of vodka here. Later the clerk talked about this comment and apologized, then we wanted a receipt to pay. And it turns out that the entire receipt is not correct, we had drunk vodka with coke, sisi and the receipt stated other drinks that we had not drunk. See photo. We are told by the clerk that they cannot put anything else in their system. We wanted to speak to the boss to explain this situation why the receipt says something different. We try to explain that if we are going to eat or drink, we expect what we have ordered on the receipt and not to worry that nothing is correct. Boss was very rude and started talking to the entire restaurant, I'm sure you don't want to pay, my sister immediately said I want to pay, but I want to know why the receipt is incorrect. We can't find the prices anywhere, but regular vodka with cola wasn't listed. Once during the conversation the boss was so rude and just walked away. Later came back when the clerk was told that it means not good about boss if he walks away during conversation with customers. Then he came back and said yes, yes, you are right, let's have a drink together. We clearly indicated that he does not understand what we mean and wants to pay and go. We said we won't come here anymore, which the boss said loudly, don't come here anymore. I advise against !!!!

Yesterday's outing with my sister and mother started out nice, but unfortunately didn't last long! We ordered dinner and drinks. The food itself, the burgers weren't bad, but the worst I've ever eaten. The duck was delicious, my mother told me. When we started ordering more drinks after the meal, the strange looks started. We even heard the waiter say something like: do you want to get drunk? Then we received two nice free drinks from them, after we had indicated several times that our previous order had not arrived, when my sister asked what it was because it tasted delicious, the waiter replied, you would probably prefer a bottle of vodka here, right? When my sister pointed out the unpleasant comments directed at us, he apologized, but the disgust remained. When it came time to pay the bill, it turned out that only our dishes were on it, the rest was completely wrong, there were about 22 drinks that we had not ordered and our ordered drinks were not included either. When we asked for our receipt, as a mistake had probably been made, we were told it was our receipt and what was on it didn't matter at all as the prices were the same. We didn't have the opportunity to check our bill, and when we informed the owner that it was out of order, he said he didn't understand what we meant at all, started waving his hands and loudly accusing us of not wanting pay the bill! He was arrogant and rude. When paying the bill I want to be sure that we also pay for our dishes and drinks. We felt cheated. The owner said we drank a lot more and the bill was less. The good-natured owner gave us free drinks!? Personally I think the bill was way too high €250, but unfortunately we had no way to check it as our drinks were not on it, and for our peace of mind after the owner's behavior we paid and left. One person there was very nice, a waiter with longer curly hair! You save this place! Who is a star for you! The rest of the people were very judgmental! I don't recommend this place! It was the first time I encountered such an unpleasant and poor place.

Very agressive and negative italian lady is in chatge of the tables. Wrong orders came to our table and her attitude was so negative. With the eyerolls and heavy breathing… never coming here again, and if you wish to have relaxed time, I don’t suggest you to come. Total disappointment!

EXTREMELY rude and unfriendly waiter. I went with my friend and when we went to pay the bald waiter kept repeating very aggressively “ONLY ONE PAYMENT” and we couldn’t split the bill. This was the first time I’ve seen this happen in my life. I don’t recommend it and I’ll never go back! Run away

Recently had lunch at Lust109. You are clearly paying for the location here, because it is so cozy and beautifully situated on the canal. The service is very friendly, but you have to speak to them yourself if you want to order something or pay. In between, no one comes to ask if everything is OK. We both had a carpaccio sandwich for 13.50 each, a sandwich with carpaccio, clearly from the frozen. It wasn't special, or very much. All in all a nice location, but I would look further for really good food.

Es war nicht einfach, einen Platz für 3 Personen zu ergattern, aber an der oude Gracht ist man eben nicht allein. Ein von - offensichtlich - Studenten bedientes Restaurant hat uns - kurz und knapp (in qualität und Zeit) bedient. Imnmwerhin war der Mittagshunger gestgillt und wir konnten uns der sehenswerten Stadt weiter widemn.

What a hidden gem! It was good that we didn’t read the reviews; otherwise we would have not chosen this place. Everything was perfect, from the nice and funny waiter who surely knew what he was doing to the tasty food. We got some starters, the beef tenderloin and the duck breast and tiramisu and lava cake. The meat and the vegetables were delicious and the desserts were extremely well done! The portions were perfect, to feel a bit full but not like bursting. We even got 2 Mojitos on the house at the end which were amazing and extremely tasty! Totally recommending it!

Me and my friend were looking to sit for a meal. The waitress ( with orange hair and tattoos) was extremely rude, she looked us up and down and gave dirty looks. We sat across it at Ill Pozzo, amazing service and food! Very welcoming staff!

I got a really old stale salad with leuk warm chicken. I told the waitress that the salad is very old and she just said “ok” took the plate and never came back. Next day I got a bad tummy ache from it. She should have tried to provide some of compensation or at least sympathy! Never going back!

I waited to be seated at the bottom of the steps and two or three staff members ignored me. I finally asked if you seat yourself. The waitress was confused so I just asked for a table for four. At the same time someone shouted from the top of the steps for a table for four and they seated them instead.
