Fajitas and enchiladas were pretty good. Portion sizes were generous. Nachos with chicken had very few large pieces of chicken breast. Felt abit like old chicken.

We had a lovely meal at El Vino, the food was so delicious and good portion sizes. The staff were very friendly and made us feel comfortable. Definitely recommend!

Food quantity and quality can not be faulted. Unfortunately we went for an early dinner (6:30) so they did not have many staff so took almost an hour after ordering for the food to arrive. I would give them the benefit of the doubt and put it down to the holiday season. By the time we finished they seemed to have more staff and the restaurant was filling up also with returning clients which is a good sign. I think restaurant is probably more atmospheric a bit later in the evening.

We chose this restaurant based on a recommendation and were very disappointed. I have rarely eaten anything as bad as these vegetarian fried tortillas and filled tacos. The filling was frozen vegetables (carrots, beans, peas, onions, etc.), and the dips consisted of mayonnaise, salsa, and guacamole (which was perhaps the only thing that was homemade). The salad also looked like it had been dumped straight from a bag onto the plate. Simply infuriating. It didn't help that the owner tried to be funny and gave us a free ice cream at the end.

We had a really delicious meal, the atmosphere was cozy, and it was family-friendly. We were really very happy with this place. The portions were also perfect and large.

A Mexican's Opinion The good: The service and attention are incredible. The "Mexican menshilada" (or that drink) was surprisingly good, refreshing, and had a unique flavor. I think it had Clamato in it, but it was barely noticeable (I don't usually like Clamato, but it worked in this). The so-so: The chilaquiles were very tasty, but they didn't taste like chilaquiles at all; they were more like a deconstructed tinga tostada. The mixed fajitas needed more seasoning, but they had good flavor. The bad: The rice had a good texture but lacked flavor. I think they put ketchup or something in the beans... The amazing: They gave us a free shot of tequila! ✨✨✨

Salsa music! Margarita! Sombrero! Absolutely amazing mexican vibes and they are always generous with portion sizes. We ordered nachos and a burrito each and the price of cocktails was decent for Amsterdam. I absolutely loved the staffs hospitality and the vibes of the restaurant feels authentic.

Yummy! Staff was so nice and kept checking on us if everything was to our liking :) You get more on your plate than you expect, they really fill it up and even gave us sides. We loved it, thank you for having us. Cutest/nicest people ever :) We also loooved the music that was playing!

What a wonderful experience this was. We had a great evening here and enjoyed the nice atmosphere of the place. The food was very tasty and fresh. I especially liked the creative presentation with the radishes as flowers on the plates; I found it a very nice and thoughtful detail. The service was friendly and the drinks arrived quickly. We will definitely come back again when we are in the Lange Leidsedwarsstraat area.

A lovely place with a warm, authentic atmosphere. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the portions were generous for the price. What made the visit even more memorable was the elderly gentleman who served us. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely sweet. His hospitality gave the place a personal touch that you don't often find anymore. The only minor downside was the restroom, which was quite small—but that's fairly common in many places across the Netherlands, so it wasn't a big issue. Overall, a great experience. I'd definitely recommend El Viono and would happily visit again.

I've never been to a worse Mexican restaurant in my life. The chili con carne had no chili, very little meat, and the rice was like paella. The burrito was bland and poorly prepared. It's clear no Mexican or Hispanic person has ever worked in this kitchen.

I may be a bit biased because I absolutely love Mexican food, but I had a great experience here. Everything I ordered was delicious. I chose the beef burrito, which came with a generous side of fresh salad, rice, beans, and a chili sauce with just the right amount of heat. The portion size was excellent for the price, making it great value for money. The flavors worked really well together, and the meal was both satisfying and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty Mexican food in Amsterdam.

A small but quaint Mexican-Argentine restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. The food is absolutely delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are fair given the location. The greatest credit, however, goes to the owner, a very kind and friendly gentleman. If we could, we would gladly return.

I found this place by chance while wandering around the neighborhood. I didn't choose it for any particular reason, but it appealed to me. The place is small and dark, with a friendly owner. We ordered chicken salad, nachos, and meat empanadas. Despite my first impression, I have to admit that everything was good, and the low prices made me expect more. I'd go back.

I had made a reservation by phone for a large group using a Groupon deal. Upon arrival, the host was at a loss. Two tables were quickly prepared. When the food arrived, my fries were overcooked and hard. When I mentioned this, the response was unprofessional. The waitress said they had been fried like that all day. She did offer new fries, but I didn't think that was necessary. She took my fries away. Then the host returned with the fries and called out who they belonged to. He seemed angry and wanted an explanation. He spoke so loudly that everyone in the restaurant looked at our table. After I said the same thing as I had to the waitress, he offered new ones. But I said again that it wasn't necessary, and it was taken off the bill. When we were all eating, he came to apologize. But the atmosphere was actually already ruined for us. The rest of the food was good. Because of the deal, it wasn't expensive, but I wouldn't eat there again. Hopefully, the host will handle this differently next time something similar happens.

It is always pleasant to come and eat here. This time, however, it was really a shame that the main course came immediately after the starter without us asking, followed by dessert right away—ice cream—even though we could have chosen coffee, but this was not asked.

Called before closing time, ordered three fajitas for two, ate them completely. Delicious spicy sauce, nice photos, sweet service. Nothing to complain about.

We came here for lunch with a Social Deal. That was quite cheap. The food tasted okay, but it didn't look good. You can get much better food in Amsterdam than this. The gentleman who worked there was extremely nice, though.

Best mexican food I ever had. The place is very cosy too. We werent that hungry, so ordered nachos and enchiladas for two. Nachos were great. The man split the enchiladas in two and brought two full plates including beans, rice, salad, tortillas etc... Together with beers we paid 34 euro in total, which was very good for the amounts of food we had.

The hospitality here is unmatched! Though the service was a bit slow, the chef’s warmth and humble attitude completely made our day. We loved the chicken and veggie tacos. The chicken ones were especially satisfying and the fish and chips were delicious. Even the salad was beautifully presented with precise cuts. ​The chef went above and beyond, gifting us extra nachos, salsa, and even complimentary ice creams for everyone! He truly gave us a "taste of Mexico" by letting us wear traditional hats and offering to take photos. Such a kind soul and a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

I've rarely had so much fun eating at a restaurant; the owner is very friendly and really fun. He arrived wearing typical Mexican hats and asked if he should take a picture for us, which made for a great souvenir photo. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. It's a shame we only visited El Vino on our last evening in Amsterdam, otherwise we certainly would have come back more often.

Worst Mexican food I've ever had. Bad quality ingredients being marked up, awful service (it took 30 minutes for our order to be taken) and phoned in, awful "Mexican" food most likely from a tin. Go to Caliente instead if you want some quality Mexican food. This place is no good. Avoid at all costs, life's too short to eat here.

Delicious food, just took a little while, but that didn't spoil the flavor. Very good Mexican food.

We entered the restaurant and it was quite cold inside. On the positive side, we were given sombreros for fun photos, which was definitely a small highlight. When ordering, I also asked for a starter as a side dish since I usually eat a lot. I ordered something with chorizo and cheese, but instead received chili con carne. I pointed out that this wasn’t what I had ordered, and it was taken back. When the rest of the food arrived, my starter was missing. Only after asking about it was I told that they assumed I no longer wanted it because I had sent the wrong dish back. The waiter came across as rather passive-aggressive toward me in that moment, although he was otherwise friendly. While we were eating, we felt largely ignored — good service looks different. The Tequila Sunrise wasn’t particularly good either. The food itself was okay, but the portions were rather small.

Not overly happy but ok. The margarita could've been a bit stronger. The flautas al pollo were very good, it quite liked the extra spicy sauce. The chili con carne was not what I expected. No beans, no chili, not spicy. Carne, yes, rice, yes. But not chili con carne. On atmosphere the waiter does all he can. And there's good Mexican music...

The waiter is friendly and speaks Spanish. When you're Mexican traveling the world, sometimes you crave something that reminds you of spicy food. In my opinion, this isn't the place. I'm not saying the food doesn't taste good, just that it wasn't what I expected from chilaquiles. While we know food is never the same in every country, the bathroom is too small.
