I highly recommend it. We ate well, and the manager was very kind. The only downside was that it was dimly lit.

The highlight of our visit was my dish, the beef fajitas! Such a flavourful sauce, with the beef tender and vegetables cooked well. The rice lacked flavour, so I pretty much skipped it as the fajitas themselves were plentiful (could have used 4 tortillas instead of 3, as it was more filling than could fit in three). The chicken Chimichanga was ok, but not remarkable. The fail was with the third dish for our party, the Choriqueso. Described on the menu as a “dip” with chorizo, we fully had expectations of a queso/cheese dip with perhaps crumbled chorizo, hopefully served with chips for dipping. No, it was a cooked split sausage with cheese melted on top, served with rice. My fault for not inquiring when it arrived, but the friendly owner seemed preoccupied with repairing something at the back of the restaurant near the bar. The server seemed busy standing and watching him working, causing us to have to wait a considerable time for our bill - we had to go back there to ask for it as she seemed to have stopped appearing out in the restaurant at all. We would still return again, just to give them another chance - he was so nice - and for the fajitas! ☺️ Sept2025 - we did return a year later, and unfortunately the fajitas were not as good. Either the cut of beef or the cook of it left it very tough and chewy - not at all like the first time that we visited unfortunately.

Such a lovely welcome, really great food and at an excellent price. Very relaxed atmosphere, quite rough round the edges but we liked that! The toilet was so tiny there was barely room to move, but that didn't really matter when the food was good and the staff were lovely!

Wow! We are so sad our visit here was on our last night because we would have been back for more!!! The food was GREAT! SO much flavor packed into each bite! Fresh, delicious, generous and great price! We had Barbacoa tacos and combo fajitas with chicken and steak. Everything was 100% full of flavor! Everyone comments on how hospitable the host is and the atmosphere which YES 5 stars, but honestly the GREAT food is what would keep us coming back! Its different at first glance, small, crowded, we were not sure if we would stay. Again, so happy that we chose to stay!! Truly great on all aspects!

A really nice way to end our day in Amsterdam. Food was delicious, nothing near what you can get in the center for the double amount of price. I came here in April, and had such a great time! The staff was so sweet and welcoming. We ended up staying for a little while even after we finished our delicious food and they offered to take our picture with these amazing sombreros. Felt very cultured in that moment indeed! Everything was very speedy and delightful.

The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and the portions were generous enough to leave us more than satisfied. As a sweet surprise, they brought us 2 complimentary ice cream at the end of our meal, which was such a thoughtful and charming gesture. La comida era increíble y muy barato en comparación con los otros lugares de la zona y el ambiente y la música son impresionantes. Great Mexican food and service. Restaurant was able to cater to my son's food allergies and he enjoyed his meal. Ours were lovely too especially the toetilla chips. We sat inside and near the window and the fairy lights and Mexican decoration created a nice ambience.

I have found this restaurant one rainy afternoon about 4 years ago. I became a regular. The host is always gracious, happy and kind. The food is tasty and portions are generous. The tomato salad is absolutely superb!

Der Abend im Restaurant war zunächst wirklich sehr gut… Der Gastgeber war richtig nett, hat gute Stimmung gemacht und wir haben alle viel gelacht . Er hat uns einiges auf Haus gegeben, wobei wir uns nichts gedacht haben, da unsere Gruppe fast die einzigen im Restaurant waren und er sich sehr darüber gefreut hat, dass wir da sind. Außerdem hat er oft gefragt ob alles gut bei uns ist. Doch am nächsten Tag wurde uns alles klar… Drei von uns bekamen eine Lebensmittelvergiftung und die Klassenfahrt war für uns gelaufen. Erbrechen, Fieber, Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit, Schwindel, Schüttelfrost. Wir vermuten auf verdorbenes Fleisch in den Tacos und gesundheitsgefährdende Zustände sowie mangelnde Hygiene in der Küche. Nettigkeit reicht wohl nicht immer, denn das war wirklich eine Katastrophe - Nie wieder werden wir diesen Laden betreten.

Vomiting, fever, headache, nausea, dizziness, chills. We suspect that it was due to rotten meat in the tacos and that there were dangerous conditions and a lack of hygiene in the kitchen. Apparently friendliness is not always enough, because this was really a disaster – we will never visit this restaurant again. They gave us free ice creams and he even applauded me and shook my hand for trying to speak Spanish which is not my native language 100% would go there again and the sombrero pictures were very nice. Wir haben vorab einen Tisch online reserviert,was problemlos geklappt hat. Am Samstag Abend wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Das mexikanische Flair zieht sich durch das gesamte Lokal. Nach dem Essen gab es ein Eis als Nachtisch aufs Haus. Hier erwartet einen kein schicki micki, es ist alles etwas einfach gehalten aber sehr authentisch. Wir haben es geliebt.

The owner's Spanish-speaking service, as the reviews say, is exceptional, but I regret to warn you that the food is very, very, very average, to be honest. I've been to no fewer than 20 Mexican restaurants (not chains) in Spain, and El Vino is without a doubt the worst in terms of quality. Furthermore, the place doesn't look like a Mexican restaurant; it could be any kind of place. No decor at all.

Amazing food with great service! We got free shots of tequila and a free desert! We couldn’t be happier, and also a fair price!

It seems that 5 stars are not enough because the rating depends not only on the taste but also on the great atmosphere created by the owners. Very inconspicuous from the outside, inside there are 5 or 6 tables for 4 people. Cards and place settings are given when you sit down at the table. The menu was well explained in English and the drinks were served very efficiently. I started with the goulash soup, which was actually hot and tasty with lots of meat. Right after the soup, dips and side dishes landed on the table, followed by second courses. All 4 looked very good and were huge portions. Most importantly, apart from their appearance, they also tasted great! The friendly staff took photos of us tourists in sombreros, and at the end we got the lowest bill we had ever paid in an Amsterdam restaurant. If you are hungry, want to eat well, a lot and cheaply, you have to visit here. I recommend hot sauce :)

the waiter, who we think was probably the owner, was very charismatic. it was just him serving the whole (albeit small) restaurant, which did make the service a little slow at times but that was made up for by the charm. it felt like a happy place to be and when the table next to us celebrated a birthday it felt like we were part of their party almost. the food was great too, i had enchiladas and my partner had fajitas and between us we had absolutely plenty of all the components. also i discovered that blackcurrant fanta (cassis) is great so i recommend that
