The drink was too bad. Quasidilas were not good either.

I knew we chose wrong, when we saw the different types of food on the menu (“Mexican”, “Argentinian” & “ Spanish”). Food was not good at all, and definitely not Mexican!! Rice was tasteless, guac was not real avocado (it tasted like the packaged guac), the tomato sauce was literally the Tostitos dipping sauce . Chicken tasted good, but that’s about it. They poured so much cheese on the chicken… if you’ve ever had Mexican fajitas, you know that the cheese is a topping not automatically added and melted on the chicken and veggies. Staff was nice but I would never recommend this place to anyone .

I’m not sure why this place is so highly rated. The food was fine, menu covered so many cuisines which should have been a red flag from the beginning. Not sure if I would recommend however they have a few gluten free options!

Myself and my two American friends had the best time on our day off from our cycling trip in Amsterdam. The family running this restaurant is so accommodating and the food was incredible.

A perfect late lunch spot before heading off to the next adventure. Our Server was very attentive and the food came quickly. It was exactly what we were looking for.

This is a TOURIST TRAP. BEWARE! We came for the food due to reviews but what a mistake. The food took over an hour to come even though they were not full (on a Tuesday night). The “chips and salsa” was literally Doritos chips with an avocado paste and Ragu tomato sauce. The enchilada were terrible, basically it was one big burrito. They messed up my wife’s order as well and she just got up and left. I paid the bill and left half my food.

A huge tourist trap. Seated very quick, decent crowd, good atmosphere. Menu is misleading. Chips and salsa = Doritos and salsa. Literally. Food took 1 hour to arrive for half the table and another extra 15 minutes for the other half of the table. 2 of the meals were incorrect. After waiting for over an hour for the food, we cancelled the order, paid for what we received and left. Verde sauce = not green. When you Google verde sauce in Mexican cuisine, it’s a green tomatillo sauce. Apparently that means red sauce to this restaurant and green sauce is non existent. Corn on the cob came out half hot, half cold. And not just regular cold - cold from the fridge cold. Huge regrets. *in response to the reply: if you truly knew Mexican cuisine, your servers would know what verde means in Spanish. It means green. You also would know that chips and salsa does not mean Doritos out of a package. In addition to that, no restaurant takes over an hour for 4 mains.

The food was bad, cold rice that was stuck together, mushy, cold beans and a salad that looked as though it came out of a bag. The only good things were the drinks that took ages to come. The service was so bad that we thought they had forgotten about us. I don't k ow how it got this star rating. I would strongly avoid

Very dirty restaurant, smells of very old oil and the food was spoiled; the quality was terrible for the price. We had to leave almost the entire plate because it was impossible to eat, even though we were hungry.

The service was incredibly polite and attentive. Definitely a 10/10 – it's rare these days to find a place where the customer is truly treated like royalty. The food was delicious and plentiful. To top it all off, they offered refreshing wipes, toothpicks, and a complimentary shot of schnapps. I can absolutely recommend this restaurant.

We were looking for proper Mexican food because we miss the food back home. This was okay… but not Mexican food. It had a tortilla and rice and that’s about where it stopped. We ordered a vegetarian enchilada and a burrito with Argentinian meat. Fine, not great. We also paid about 18€ per person which is not bad for a sit down restaraunt in Amsterdam, but the food was not worth that much in my opinion. Things that could improve: rice needed more seasoning overall. Beans were good but we were hoping for refried and when it was just a little cup of kidney beans we were disappointed. Guacamole had that store bought taste and I wish it was just avocado. Again it’s not bad, but it’s not all that good and it’s not Mexican. We will try again somewhere else 🥲

The taste was below average. The price was very high compared to the taste and the dishes. Our order was as follows: Beef burrito - the meat tasted strange and not fresh. Chicken quesadilla - the chicken was boiled and tasted terrible. Beef taco - below average. The price was over 100 euros for four people. This is my response to the restaurant: No one in their right mind would pay 100 euros and not eat it. This will be my first and last visit to this restaurant.

Unusual Vegetable Burrito (€16.5) with unconventional ingredients (mushrooms, broccoli, melted cheese on the exterior of the tortilla) but tasty nonetheless. Also ordered Mixed Salad (€7).

Terrible food. Everything was processed, stale and full of preservatives. I had a chance to peep in their kitchen on route to the toilet and it had an inch of grease on surfaces. I wish I had used the restroom but before eating...I would not have ate there.

We had a very nice meal. We happened to sit on the terrace there and ordered something, without knowing exactly what we had asked for. But it was surprisingly tasty. Generous portion, delicious flavor. Friendly young man serving us.

Absolute garbage food. Everything came out from a can and they made no effort whatsoever to enhance it even a little. Giant waste of money and time. Only saving grace was the polite waiters.

Mexican food is simple. Tex Mex doubly so. I cannot fathom how simple dishes can be so badly mangled. I ordered the quesadilla and the enchiladas verdes. The ingredients are straightforward, and recipes are all over the internet. And yet... The quesadilla was not precisely _bad_. The main problem was that it was soft, when the tortilla should be slightly crispy. It came with sour cream, "guacamole" (in this case a sauce containing avocados rather than avocados with some flavorings added), and a salsa roja that was... Not the best. The enchilada, though... When it came, I thought it was a chimichanga. It was crispy, when it should have been soft, with a thin strip of sauce and cheese on top. The sauce was in fact green, but I think it may have been that same weird guacamole sauce. I certainly didn't taste any tomatillos. As a food item, again, it wasn't terrible. It also wasn't anything you'd call an enchilada verde if you'd ever seen one before in your life. The margarita I had was also kind of sad. The people were absolutely great, though.

Extremely professional and pleasant crew! Food was fantastic and varied, there was something for everyone! One of the crewmembers overheard we had a birthday in our gang and by complete surprise, all the waiters rolled up dancing and singing happy birthday, with a huge icecream dessert for us, followed with shots. They were all happy to do it despite us not asking and without even being sure what the birthday girl's name was. What a lovely experience, great food, great people. 10/10!!!

Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied. The portion sizes should be adjusted to reflect the price! There was no soap in the restroom. It seemed to me that they were trying to cut corners and make everything "cheap" for tourists—we left hungry. We didn't like the food. We also had to pay extra for the sauce. Without it, the food would have been too dry. I wouldn't recommend this place!

Such a delight, great hamburger nachoed and especially the vibe. My son and ‏had a dinner and one of the waiters overheard that it's my birthday ‏all of a sudden I was greeted with happy birthday songs and ice cream, such a delight. Thank you

If you are craving Mexican this not the place. The food is not terrible but would be better described as Indiancan. I had fajitas that was prepared with curry. Not what I was expecting, I enjoy curry but not unexpectedly. The service was great, the staff was attentive and pleasant to interact with. The outside seating is nice and great for people watching.

We were passing by and saw this place with a spacious outdoor patio. Our family loves Mexican cuisine, and we weren't disappointed. The tacos were amazing, and the Mexican salsas and guacamole are an art in themselves. We absolutely loved it.

What a wonderful experience this was. We thoroughly enjoyed a great meal here in a cozy atmosphere. Everything was perfectly taken care of and tasted very fresh. The burger with the crispy nacho chips as a side dish was a real hit, in particular. The combination was surprisingly tasty, and it was clear that the cooking here is done with care. We will definitely be back.

Such a quaint little place. We enjoyed all the yummy food and the service was fantastic! The cute waitress went up and down the little stairs many times and we were very impressed. Will definitely come back to this great place.

We had a great visit at Sombrero Mexico. We got chicken loaded nachos as a starter and the sauce comes on the side which is perfect for us because I don't like sauce but my partner does. These were absolutely amazing but careful because the bowl is super hot! For mains we got a chicken and cheese quesadillas and burrito, the burrito is great because the beans and rice come on the side so you can kind of eat it how you want or just leave them all together. The mains themselves were fantastic, they were hot, wonderfully seasoned, and the chicken is super juicy and tender. We didn't order any dessert but we were given complimentary fruit liquor shots after our meal which was a fun surprise. The staff were really friendly and quick and the price was really reasonable!
