Spacious, relaxed, tasty sandwiches, fast and friendly service

I am really not happy with the experience. Despite the service being quick and attentive, I was utterly disappointed with the fact that they make you pay to go to the toilet in this bar even after ordering your drinks. There is a very rude woman in front of the toilets that asks you to pay, this is ridiculous and I have never seen anything like this. We told them that we consumed in the bar and she replied that you need to spend more than 700 euros to go to the toilet for free. So disgusting, I will never go back.

Excellent drinks and staff for group booking

burgers are served overcooked and without fries. Do not ask for water, the waiter will give you a 25cl bottle for 4,40 € ! 18 euros for 1 L of water ?! You will end up paying 20 euros for an overcooked burger WITHOUT fried ans a GLASS of water.

We ate here through AMEX, and it was the best of all our AMEX meals. We had beef tataki and burrata as a starter, both delicious. For the main course, we had the flat iron steak with red wine sauce, which was incredibly flavorful! I give this dinner an 8.5/10. The service was also excellent! I would definitely recommend it.

Way too expensive for way too little food

The place is fine, the food is good, but the service is lacking a lot, they take a long time to take your order, I only thought I saw one waiter for the whole place and the one who seems to be the manager called him over to ask for a coke and he saw me and turned away, then I said to him again and he turned away again, until I got up and asked him if there was someone who could serve us and the only thing he told me was to relax. In the end we wanted to pay the bill with 2 cards to split the bill and they told us that you can only pay with one card for the entire bill.

We had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come over and ask us what we wanted to drink. It was 23.45 p.m. and there weren't many people in the cafe. So we didn't order anything. Very disappointed, never again!

A pleasant terrace where you can enjoy the local apple pie accompanied by a good glass of wine, all in the sunshine. The street is very busy, making it a lovely, lively terrace. Fast service and reasonable prices.

I absolutely do not recommend this place!!!! I received very poor service from a very unpleasant server! He doesn't accept charging tourists who come to discover the bar for their addiction in installments, but he accepts it without hesitation for others!!! I am very disappointed with the image he has given of himself and the city! Let's not even talk about the exorbitant prices! Also, he cleared the table without even asking if we were finished and made us pay the bill before we could order anything else! From a business point of view, this isn't very smart, because we ate elsewhere, and he's therefore making a loss for his restaurant!! He asks people to speak more quietly when there was no one there (next to the people who were talking!!)

We ate in this restaurant twice on our stay in Amsterdam. The first time was quite pleasant but our second visit was completely different, food was served very messy and I ordered chicken for my 12 yr old daughter and when we received it it looked presentable but when my daughter tried to eat it it was hard and grey and mostly batter. I told the server and when I went to pay he charged me for it which I did nt want to pay but he more or less told me "well that's the way everyone eats it here" which I found very rude. It was not edible and we only cut two pieces with a knife to check it and it was un edible. Very disappointing Hecks.!!!!

Very disappointed with the service. Ordered a bitter lemon and a bacardi breezer and provided the wrong drinks. Ordered the bacon burger and a blt. Bacon burger had no bacon, and they brought out the wrong sandwich twice. The sandwich when it was finally was stone cold and bland. Was meant to be less than 50 euro and they brought a bill of 60+ euro. They added extra food and drinks to the bill so I had to get them to remove it. Tourist trap with bad practices and below average food. Would never suggest to go here or recommend to friends or family.

An Apérol Spritz without bubbles, drowned in Badoit… It looked like a post-apocalypse aperitif. Avocado toast? Soft bread, not toasted, with three slices of avocado fighting a duel — all billed like a palace brunch. The famous “local specialty” croquettes? I have had more inspired frozen foods. And the addition of 70€? The icing on the scam cake. In short, a culinary experience… to quickly forget. An Aperol Spritz without bubbles, drowned in sparkling water… felt like a post-apocalyptic cocktail. The avocado toast? Limp bread, not even toasted, with three sad slices of avocado — priced like a five-star brunch. As for the so-called local specialty croquettes? I’ve had more exciting frozen snacks. And the €70 bill? The cherry on top of this culinary scam. In short, a dining experience… best forgotten.

Bad operation. My order was forgotten even though the waitress had noted it down and repeated it. It also took too long for my drink to be on the table. The food was average.

Charcuterie board is highly recommended. Nice and long sun on the terrace. Nice decor. Prices not too crazy but for cocktails I would say they are a bit on the high side.

Quick correction of incorrect bill on terrace On Thursday 27 March, lovely in the sun on the terrace of Heck"s Amsterdam on Rembrandtplein, ordered 2 drinks. It went a bit messy with the wrong drink at first and when we asked for the bill we reported this, the bill was checked inside and then we were told that the bill was correct. Pinned trusting that the amount was correct. When we got home, it turned out that there was a drink of € 6 too much. We reported this and after it was checked, immediate action was taken and the amount of € 6 was refunded to our account. Great that this was resolved so quickly. André and Annelies, Almere

Liquor 43 was diluted with water, a watery 43. You pay almost 7 euros for it.

Great place to have break from walking around. Sandwich with Mozzarella was really good and absolutely fair priced. We also had nachos, their were good also. Thank you for your friendly Service.

Nice food in a busy restaurant. We went to eat there as it was nearby to our hotel and we really enjoyed the food. I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel and it was huge! With fries on the side. My mum ordered the Steak with sweet potato fries. We both enjoyed our meals. It was a little on the pricey side, but the way the menu works is that the fries etc are sides to the main part of the dish, not included.

Heck's Amsterdam is a nice restaurant that definitely has potential, but isn't entirely convincing. The atmosphere is pleasant, with modern interiors and friendly service, although it seemed a bit inattentive. The selection of food was very limited at the time of our visit. The food is good but not exceptional - the dishes are attractive but offer little surprise or creative touches. The portions are okay, but the price seems a bit high compared to the quality. Cocktails and alcoholic drinks are very expensive in my opinion.

The staff came to greet us 15 minutes after our arrival, and it was only after about ten attempts on our part to attract their attention. We ordered 3 hot chocolate and 3 pancakes served without cutlery. When the waiter took our order he seemed very haughty and dismissive. I strongly advise against this cafe, the prices are excessive and the staff are disrespectful.

14€ per cocktail which were mediocre. poor snack options and when we had to use the toilet we saw that it cost €1. When I asked about this, it was pointed out to me that this is always the case at “neat” places. talk about pretentious. the host and staff have no social skills.

Not good, crazy small portions for a 14 euro smoke salmon dish, I think there are less then 30g of salmon in the whole plate, which is ultra crazy.

Seemed like a cool spot so we sat down for a drink. It was later in the evening and the kitchen was closed so we ordered a bottle of wine. After waiting for 30 minutes and even getting the attention of the server, we decided to leave... 30+ minutes to bring a bottle of wine..? No thanks

No one, we were served a sole for 12€50 the size of a pack of 20 cigarettes, seriously, where are we? the salad with 2 anchovies fighting a duel and without forgetting the waiters seeming to say “eat, pay and get out” The only good thing was the music was at least a bit nice To run away from guys you might as well go to McDonald's really

We had a “mixed platter” where the chicken was undercooked. I mentioned this to the waiter and the waiter told us that it was not possible that the chicken could not have been cooked instead of simply apologizing. We didn't need another “mixed platter” but it was all about the principle.

The service was pathetic. Even upon asking for the food menu several times, they didn’t give it to us! The order was so slow, we waited 15 minutes for beer. The fries were old. On the day of the football game they were charging 1 euro to their guests for using the bathroom. So you pay for your poorly serviced meal and using the bathroom. Never experienced such poor service anywhere else in the world.

Drinks and prices are ok. We put ourselves out there. Unfortunately we realized too late that it was a nice restaurant inside. Old style but incredibly beautiful.

My girlfriend surprised me with a Dine&Dance ticket. We want just to eveluate here the restaurant part. The club evaluation you can find separately on the Escape webpage. We arrived at the entry where we a nice staff member brought us to our table. She was explaining us in detail how the Dine&Dance ticket work out. We spent for each ticker 59,- € which included a 3 meal course and a cocktail. The following order you can check on the menu on the webpage: She: Drinks: Long Island Ice Tea (a bit to much ice) and white wine (this needed to paid extra) Starter: Goat Cheese, this was unbelievable delicious Main: Chicken Teriyaki, super tender but a little bit to salty Dessert: Creme Brulee, on point. He: Drinks: Po**star Martini (one word: OMG) and Margarita Strawberry (this needed to paid extra but was sooo good) Starter: Buratta, this was just perfect Main: Rib Eye, I asked for Medium but it was more like Medium Rare but still good. I ordered extra fries which needed tp pay extra. Dessert: Creme Brulee, on point. The food was just amazing. The price for it was worth it. All food was given in prefect timing. The ambiente was beautiful, amazing lightning. The music (DJ) was perfect and gives you the feeling for a good club night. Even the DJ in the restaurant was way better than in Escape Club. All staff member and the manager was really nice to us. One negative point are just the toilets. If you owning such a nice restaurant you need to keep as well the toilets nice. Beautiful restaurant! Service was adequate. Friendly ladies. Unfortunately, I was shocked by the “pancakes” I chose on the menu. No less than 18eu for 3 pieces of mini warm-up pancakes. You can find the same mini pancakes at the supermarket in a pack of 6 for 2 euros ahahaha. Not maple syrup as it should be, but sad strawberry sauce. You can charge a maximum of 12 eu for this dish.

Very cozy terrace. Also nicely decorated inside. We sat outside on a lovely heated terrace. It's only terrible if you are unlucky enough to be served by the dark waitress. This really put a dampener on our wonderful evening in Amsterdam. Pity. This lady has no sense of humor, misunderstood us and even started yelling at us. Hope she's been fired by now. Does this beautiful tent cost customers? Shame.

Very nice place with music and a good general atmosphere. The dishes were excellent (I particularly recommend the truffle ravioli). The only negative point is that we wait for everything (order, dessert, payment), except the dish which arrived quickly. On the other hand, contrary to the opinion read previously, the staff was rather pleasant.

Afgelopen vrijdag twee clubsandwiches (extra friet) en een latte en cappuccino besteld. Als je hard blies waren de frietjes weg, zo weinig was het. Maar wel €3,95 per portie vragen, bizar! De clubsandwiches vielen ook tegen; ruim belegd maar zonder smaak. Ik had ze thuis beter gemaakt. Cappuccino was lauw, latte kon nog net. Toiletten waren overigens ook te goor. We komen hier niet nog een keer.

Lugar agradable y bien decorado. Poca variedad de comida y toda con bastante kcal. Aun asi nos pedimos el pollo al teriyaki con cebolla y cacahuete crujiente y estaba muy rico.

Mooi terras plekje in de zon. Het eten is goed, alleen de tomaten/ paprika soep moet na het pureren even door de zeef. Verder goede plek op het terras.

We weren’t expecting to have such a great meal. But smaller menus are sometimes a very good sign. The Peking Duck starters were saltier than I like, but my husband enjoyed them. The tournedos steak was great and the sweet potato fries were to die for! We really enjoyed this meal. And once the scaffolding comes down in front, they’ll be hopping!
