For years we came here 3 times a year, and the quality and presentation of the food according to the "old concept" was always excellent. Tried the new concept here last night with the two of us.... The entrance is virtually unchanged, but that's not really what we came for. And indeed, as others wrote: there was no one there. By the way, it arrived shortly afterwards. We specifically asked for a quiet spot somewhere along the side. Wasn't a problem at all; After we were taken to the restaurant by an extremely friendly young lady, we immediately understood why... there were only 6 people inside, at 2 tables. And that on Friday evening at half past seven! Once again compliments for friendly staff! Good explanation of the concept. Then: the beer wasn't cold enough, and the food wasn't hot enough. Order on the table quite quickly. But yes... with 8 people in a tent that can accommodate perhaps 150 people...... Food definitely not special. No special taste experience, and not properly warm. Occasionally, an ordered dish only arrived after a long time. Then onto dessert. I immediately recognized the old inventory, which was left standing. It seems a bit strange when you know that previously you could put together delicious dishes for the wok in the same room. And the ice cream...not cold enough. With good cold ice cream, you have to use quite a bit of force to push the ice cream scoop through it to scoop it up. Here it took no effort at all. Taste was fine by the way! Then the bill: €86 for 2 people. Must say: paid extra for sushi, and paid extra for 4 beers. But then again: I think it's really too much money for what you get. For us, eating out means a taste experience in a cozy environment. We certainly did not experience that, and we will not go there again. Still a plus: the staff may be young, but it is fair to say that they were extremely friendly and correct. But they won't see us again, and I don't think this concept and associated quality will last long in Meppel. UPDATE DEC 28, 2023: Heard yesterday that the place was already closed. Ate here with colleagues. Was very disappointing this time. Earlier this year I also had dinner here with two friends and at that time we still ordered by telephone. That was 10 times better than what the concept is now. It was also 10 times better in terms of taste, choice and serving and it was worth the €30. Now there was little choice, containers were empty or almost empty, what had been there longer had dried out and the taste was not what it used to be. This Wok Restaurant has deteriorated rapidly. I always liked going here, but there are many better restaurants in Meppel that are much better and pay the same price and where you can also sit in a much nicer atmosphere. The entrance to the Wok is also very unattractive. Not again for me (and my housemates and colleagues). 🤷

One person says this to the other that we will experience it ourselves. And yes, it was great again. Delicious food. Friendly staff who looked up special Chinese wine for me. And don't forget a special thank you for the special wok meal made for me.

Tuesday evening is probably ideal for having a nice meal together at home, instead of going out for dinner. There was no noodles, the pan was clean and empty. Several sushi trays were empty and were not refilled (during the time we were there). Various types of meat (including pork belly) were almost empty and were not refilled. The waiter couldn't tell me with certainty which tap was coke-zero. Service friendly, but slow. Unfortunately......at least not the right place for a Tuesday evening.

What I did notice was that a number of ceiling panels were hanging loose/crooked above one of the tables. The way of eating that they are now taking by means of online ordering is just nothing at all when you could pick up/choose yourself it was much better the things you order do not come and take a very long time we will never go here again mega expensive also for what you get gets.

The old concept was more fun. The price has changed from 24 euros all in to 37.50 all in. Huge increase for no reason, choice is less. Ordering by telephone is not pleasant and looks anything but.

The a la carte buffet costs more than 30 euros per person for dinner. The food is average and the price is so high. I don't think the "new concept" really fits in with Meppel. (Now you get less for a higher price) Apart from the price, there is better quality available in Meppel. I think the old concept is better, because the system that is currently used is now outdated and/or better implemented by competition. Staff are incredibly friendly and we genuinely laughed with them!! Summary: keep your staff and go back to the old concept. Then you are "special" in Meppel!!

Ate here with the family at the beginning of March, what an improvement from a few years ago. Very different concept now and highly recommended. You can order three dishes each round and they are all delicious, plenty of choice so try different things next time. Unlimited rounds so you can order again and again, quickly on the table and hassle-free friendly people.

First time here at the beginning of March 2022. Apparently they have a new concept. Order by phone and your food will be delivered. Like I said, this was my first visit to this restaurant so I don't know what it was like before. Food is good, service is good, price is good. The restaurant is beautifully and modernly decorated, except for the entrance area! The entrance and toilets need a makeover! It is a pity that upon entering you do not immediately see the beautiful modern appearance of the actual restaurant. If that is addressed, they will get 5 stars from me.

Great food! They recently changed up their formula and we definitely noticed that the food quality got a lot better. They have a sushi bar where sushi gets prepared on the spot and the difference is stark. Overall there is less choice of what you can eat, but the experience of ordering your food feels a lot more organised than standing in line before the wok. A great place to eat good quality asian food!

De nieuwe formule van Eten&Fusion Tapas geprobeerd. Ik was eerst nogal sceptisch, ook omdat de oude formule me goed beviel. Maar ik ben helemaal om. Je besteld met je smartphone de lekkerste vers bereide gerechten. En heb je geen smartphone dan kun je je bestelling op een briefje zetten. De met zorg bereide bestelde gerechtjes (tapas) worden vrij snel door de vriendelijke bediening gebracht. Groot voordeel van de nieuwe formule is dat je niet meer met een groot aantal mensen in de rij staat om te wokken, of om iets op de plaat te laten bereiden. Ook hoef je geen opscheplepels meer aan te raken welke al door vele anderen zijn gebruiken. In de huidige tijd een groot voordeel. Het assortiment is nog steeds ruim, met name bij de sushi is de keuze toegenomen. En dat alles vers bereid wordt proef je. Neem je bijvoorbeeld gebakken banaan dan heeft deze nu een krokant korstje. Voor ons was het een zeer positieve ervaring en wij komen zeker terug. Ik kan me voorstellen dat mensen die kwamen om even lekker te bunkeren deze nieuwe formule niet kunnen waarderen, maar voor hun zijn er genoeg andere restaurants.

It was downright scandalous, from the service to empty containers of food and grumpy and rude staff, especially the manager who also receives people at the entrance. A side door was also opened because the staff had to get something downstairs, causing people to be in a heavy draft, while it was almost freezing outside. Food and Fusion is a cozy, well-organized restaurant. Upon arrival, everything was personally explained to us, including a mini tour of the large selection of food. Steaks and sushi are definitely recommended. Everything was cooked perfectly and was ready quickly. Drinks are included and there is a playground (large ball pit) for the children. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely come back.
