Great restaurant to unwind at after a nice walk.

Great ambiance, service friendly, attentive, and efficient. The ordered food (satay stew and hamburger) was also tasty, but unfortunately the accompanying fries were quite overcooked and even seemed partially re-fried. I also found the quantity of fries, just like the accompanying salad, to be quite small for the price.

We were looking forward to it, 4 adults and two children outside on the terrace, ordered nice drinks and a platter of twelve pieces of bar snacks for €15.50, but then it turned out there were 11; the waitress took our order politely and we received another one 5 minutes later!? Then the dinner, the fries were cold and tough, sent back, the pancakes were rubbery and the rest of the food was also very disappointing. It is a great location but the food is really far below par, especially considering the prices. The service was friendly though. We will not be coming back.

We made a reservation for 2 people on Thursday evening and had a delicious meal on the water terrace. Friendly and helpful assistance with the reservation, and pleasant, efficient service at the table. The price-quality ratio is good, and the quality and presentation of the meal are excellent. Highly recommended

They have a lovely, spacious outdoor terrace where (small) children can play and adults enjoy a snack and a drink.

Service friendly and attentive. The carpaccio sandwich came on a warm plate, causing the carpaccio to be lukewarm.

Delicious satay and hamburger bun. The lettuce was plain and mediocre in taste. The fries were not really warm and unfortunately frozen (made from mashed potatoes).

Unfortunately, I ordered something for the umpteenth time, and once again it turns out to be very difficult to make a fried egg. Would you like the cheese fried? No. What do I get? Fried cheese and a fried egg that is so overcooked it is dry. Never said anything about it, even though active listening isn't really an option; I complained about it first. I should have pointed it out sooner. I understand that, but do we have to keep throwing away food because they can't just take a simple order? Received tomato juice instead of tomato soup, which turned out not to be available, so my friend had nothing to eat and I had to eat alone. Had to pay the full price; they made enough money because they came almost every weekend. Last time visiting; if you can't even make a fried egg and take an order, it's really over. Worked in the hospitality industry for years, shoddy work. Better to hire a good manager and train the staff better; I've also heard swearing from the staff on the terrace before. I'm really done with it, incomprehensible. I don't write often and give a business a chance multiple times. Mistakes are human, but if I point out that things are going wrong multiple times, I expect to be taken seriously. I don't have time to keep waiting longer just because you can't fry an egg; it's fine that you have all the time in the world, but I don't. Grab a bite to eat and I just have to move on. Long story short, I'm not coming back. Our group will find another place where we are respected.

What terrible service. I sat waiting for more than 15 minutes and made eye contact with the staff multiple times. They clearly saw me, but did absolutely nothing. Then a Dutch woman came in and was helped within two minutes. Apparently, different treatment applies to some people. To me, this just felt like racism. I have never been treated so disrespectfully. I will never come back here again and I do not recommend anyone go here.

Very nice, tasty toasted sandwich on it. Also fun with little ones when they want a bit of sand to play with.

The fresh orange juice tastes really old, even though it's supposed to be squeezed the same day. Spent almost 5 euros on this… The view is nice though. Their chili sauce seems diluted with water, and nobody gets a plate.

Quite pricey for the average budget

A pleasant restaurant with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. It was an enjoyable place to spend time with family or friends.

There is still room for a few finishing touches, but some people are really doing their best and the food was very tasty.

Nice restaurant and great location in the middle of the park and next to the lake. Perfect for either a drink or a meal. We had the crepe and it was delicious! I’m lactose intolerant and I was happy to find a place with the option of lactose free crepe, usually I can’t eat them. I’ll be back!

I ate here tonight. I ordered the quiche with lettuce. Unfortunately, it was a mini quiche with a mountain of lettuce. This definitely needs to be adjusted on the menu. The taste sensation was good, but the quiche shouldn't be called a quiche; it should be called a cheese roll. When paying the bill, I gave the waitress an extra 5 euros. Since I worked in service for a long time myself, I appreciate the word 'thank you'. Unfortunately, this word was omitted. It must be a generational thing, where tipping is just normal. This prompted me to write this review.

Decor is old-fashioned and cozy. Often many groups with children, making it somewhat chaotic. Expensive! Staff are students who have a lot to discuss with each other. Location in a beautiful nature area.

We love coming here with the family to grab a bite to eat, all twelve of us. The food is simply good, and you are served quickly and courteously at great prices. Parking is free, but if you have severe mobility issues, it is still quite a distance away.

Too bad. On Saturday afternoon, May 9, 2026, we attempted to have lunch. We ordered salmon salad and a healthy sandwich. First, a drink: Spa Red and Hoegaarden Citrus 0.0. After 1.5 hours, there was still no food in sight, although cutlery was already on the table. We eventually left after paying for our two drinks. We received a sincere apology and were offered a drink, which we simply declined. The food passing by smelled good and looked good. But apart from that, we can say little about it, except that the service was substandard. Too bad. Given how busy it is, it is probably okay. But this is our experience, and you will just have to live with it.

It took a really long time before we could order anything, and then waited a long time for the food again. And it wasn't even that busy. Presumably they were messing around in the kitchen more than working, because sometimes primal noises came from the kitchen, it was unbelievable. In total, we waited 45 minutes for one smooth lemonade. And then another 55 minutes for a bacon and cheese pancake.

Excellent quality, however... prices are excessively high!

Endless enjoyment. On my birthday, I had drinks on the terrace with my children and grandchildren and ate inside. Very pleasant service, always with a smile. Helpful to parents and children; nothing is too much trouble. That is hospitality with a capital H and an example for many hospitality venues today.

Cold fries but no solution. It was almost as chilly inside as outside with the doors open, and even with a coat on, the elderly were still too cold due to the draft. We lacked an eye and feel for simple and obvious things; put yourself in the customer's shoes. A tip would be coaching and monitoring staff regarding hospitality and maintaining a good atmosphere; the attitude of just one person can ruin it. Perhaps this was the wrong time, because the atmosphere was fine for lunch before, but now, for a cozy evening dinner, the experience was substandard. There is so much to choose from elsewhere, so it is not recommended for a group dinner, but for lunch or a quick coffee break, I think it is fine. It's not fun reading this, but unless we are craving pancakes during the day, we would rather skip it.

I was allowed in and allowed to order food just before the kitchen closed; a very tasty hamburger with a beautiful view of the lake! The perfect way to end a SUP trip 😍

We had a good meal with two teenagers. I did feel that we had to wait a bit before we could order. I also thought it took quite a long time to clear the table, so we just walked inside ourselves to pay.

Quite pricey, but the pancake was good.

It is always nice to enjoy lunch or a beer with a snack here after a bike ride along the Rotte or a walk around the lake.

Beautiful location with a stunning view. Drinks (cola, fresh orange juice, chocolate milk) were served quickly. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, it took 40 minutes for our tomato soup and children's pancake to arrive. It is understandable that it is busy on a nice day, but preparing two simple dishes should surely be faster. All in all, a nice place to sit and enjoy the view, but not for ordering food.

The wait before the food arrives at the table is about 40 minutes during busy periods, so please keep that in mind, but there is a good spot everywhere to sit and relax in the nice weather.

Nice weather and right in the middle of the park, so a full terrace. Tasty pancakes, friendly waitresses who didn't act stressed. So relaxed. Lots of people who just had to bring a dog, which is a shame.

Bad experience calling the restaurant. You first wait three times for a recording that says "Thanks for waiting," and then it's "Unfortunately, it's very busy, please try again later," and the call is disconnected. VERY POOR SERVICE

The location and exterior are very nice. Inside, it's a screaming children's paradise with very mediocre food. Fine for a bathroom break, but don't eat there.

A truly lovely family restaurant. A quick lunch wasn't a great choice for a business traveler. The fried egg was too hot in the pan, blackened around the edges and underneath. A very small lunch for the price (€17.50). But it's good, that's all. Do check the bill carefully; initially, a glass of tap water cost one euro. Upon inquiry, this was deducted. Apparently, many Rotterdammers come here and only order tap water and nothing else. That's understandable; they have to make money, otherwise, they'll be gone in a while.

Everything is actually fine. The staff doesn't always pay attention to whether someone needs help or service. Point of concern.

Great. Lots of people come here with children. Indoor and outdoor play areas (sandbox with toys) for young children. Delicious pancakes. Good coffee. It does get very busy on sunny days/in good weather.

The tea wasn't hot enough to steep properly, and the cappuccino wasn't really hot either. They were clearly understaffed; waiting 25 minutes for your pancakes is really too long! The prices are also a bit high!

What terrible service! We were helped by a waitress who pretended to be hard of hearing—she hadn't slept a bit—and even gave us the wrong order. The location is nice, but if the service remains this subpar, we'll stay away!!! (Remember etiquette; we pay for service and politeness, among other things.)

The atmosphere is great. It's cozy and so nice that they're so thoughtful about the kids. There's a fun play area and a lovely menu.

Just had a wonderful time here, honestly, not because the food was great. Beautiful location and great that the kids can play there. The pancakes were pre-cooked and reheated. And the fried eggs were prepared with little to no attention. Such a shame about the location. So if you decide to go here for hot chocolate milk, you can't go wrong.

Delicious food by the lake, easy to do. Sometimes busy. Service is excellent, although a few times ordering was a bit awkward; they brought drinks but then had to order from someone else, which took a very long time. The staff were definitely friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, and reservations are also available for weddings and parties. Beautiful location!

Really, really disappointed. My fiancé and I were looking for a beautiful wedding venue, and this seemed perfect. So, before requesting a brochure, we went for dinner to soak up the atmosphere. What a lovely terrace by the water, but unfortunately, that positive vibe quickly faded. We'd ordered a bread roll with spreads beforehand. The herb butter was impossible to spread, the bread wasn't warm, and the aioli was very sour. I ordered shrimp for my main course. This was also a real disappointment. The fries weren't cooked properly, and the shrimp portion was outrageously small for €25! The hamburger isn't really recommended either; it was overcooked meat from the freezer. While we were waiting for our food, the staff was doing TikTok dances. When I mentioned the shrimp at checkout, I was apologized for and asked if I wanted dessert. No, thank you, I'd rather eat the rest elsewhere. Unfortunately, we'll be saying "I do" elsewhere.

My husband and I got married this year at the Bergsche Plas family restaurant. From the beginning, we knew this would be our wedding venue because of its location and the combination of landscape, forest, and water. Communication initially went smoothly, but suddenly that changed to a different contact person. Suddenly, that was the case, and communication wasn't flawless. We didn't want a typical wedding, and what had seemed feasible at first was suddenly impossible. And even when everything was reasonably up to par and the wedding itself was finally here, the person in charge was absent. Not customer-friendly and not respectful. That's no way to treat customers. We look back fondly on our wedding, despite the previous issues and the 32-degree weather. The people in charge did a great job and were there for us. The styling for the ceremony was as we had agreed. Unfortunately, we missed the styling for dinner, even though we had agreed and paid for it. That was a huge shame, as that was one of the reasons we had the photographer stay a bit longer. Our tip! Stay polite in your communication (we did too) while also sticking to your own wishes and don't let things get you down if something isn't possible. Because a wedding should be your day, and a venue should do EVERYTHING for that!

Last night I ordered a flat white, but was served a regular latte. When I politely addressed this with the waiter, they ignored it and just laughed it off. I thought that was a shame. I'm passing this on as constructive feedback—I appreciate good service and hope this will be handled more carefully in the future.

Today was a wedding at Bergsche Plas, a beautiful location, and with the company and the Italian BBQ, it was a fantastic day! The evening party was also a blast!
