What terrible service! We were helped by a waitress who pretended to be hard of hearing—she hadn't slept a bit—and even gave us the wrong order. The location is nice, but if the service remains this subpar, we'll stay away!!! (Remember etiquette; we pay for service and politeness, among other things.)

The atmosphere is great. It's cozy and so nice that they're so thoughtful about the kids. There's a fun play area and a lovely menu.

Just had a wonderful time here, honestly, not because the food was great. Beautiful location and great that the kids can play there. The pancakes were pre-cooked and reheated. And the fried eggs were prepared with little to no attention. Such a shame about the location. So if you decide to go here for hot chocolate milk, you can't go wrong.

After a bike ride, we were looking for a drink. There were four staff members standing around chatting. We left after five minutes because there was no response from the staff. Such a shame, a missed opportunity.

Delicious food by the lake, easy to do. Sometimes busy. Service is excellent, although a few times ordering was a bit awkward; they brought drinks but then had to order from someone else, which took a very long time. The staff were definitely friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, and reservations are also available for weddings and parties. Beautiful location!

Really, really disappointed. My fiancé and I were looking for a beautiful wedding venue, and this seemed perfect. So, before requesting a brochure, we went for dinner to soak up the atmosphere. What a lovely terrace by the water, but unfortunately, that positive vibe quickly faded. We'd ordered a bread roll with spreads beforehand. The herb butter was impossible to spread, the bread wasn't warm, and the aioli was very sour. I ordered shrimp for my main course. This was also a real disappointment. The fries weren't cooked properly, and the shrimp portion was outrageously small for €25! The hamburger isn't really recommended either; it was overcooked meat from the freezer. While we were waiting for our food, the staff was doing TikTok dances. When I mentioned the shrimp at checkout, I was apologized for and asked if I wanted dessert. No, thank you, I'd rather eat the rest elsewhere. Unfortunately, we'll be saying "I do" elsewhere.

My husband and I got married this year at the Bergsche Plas family restaurant. From the beginning, we knew this would be our wedding venue because of its location and the combination of landscape, forest, and water. Communication initially went smoothly, but suddenly that changed to a different contact person. Suddenly, that was the case, and communication wasn't flawless. We didn't want a typical wedding, and what had seemed feasible at first was suddenly impossible. And even when everything was reasonably up to par and the wedding itself was finally here, the person in charge was absent. Not customer-friendly and not respectful. That's no way to treat customers. We look back fondly on our wedding, despite the previous issues and the 32-degree weather. The people in charge did a great job and were there for us. The styling for the ceremony was as we had agreed. Unfortunately, we missed the styling for dinner, even though we had agreed and paid for it. That was a huge shame, as that was one of the reasons we had the photographer stay a bit longer. Our tip! Stay polite in your communication (we did too) while also sticking to your own wishes and don't let things get you down if something isn't possible. Because a wedding should be your day, and a venue should do EVERYTHING for that!

Last night I ordered a flat white, but was served a regular latte. When I politely addressed this with the waiter, they ignored it and just laughed it off. I thought that was a shame. I'm passing this on as constructive feedback—I appreciate good service and hope this will be handled more carefully in the future.

Today was a wedding at Bergsche Plas, a beautiful location, and with the company and the Italian BBQ, it was a fantastic day! The evening party was also a blast!

Nice no-nonsense place to chill and have a beer while the kids play

I had cold coffee three times. The staff touching the food with their fingers wasn't very hygienic. Otherwise, it's a nice place, but the staff desperately needs training.

We come to this place quite regularly. Partly because we live around the corner, and partly because the kids can have a great time there. Last year, the terrace facing the woods was renovated with a new playground for the kids and a lovely large awning. On the waterfront, you'll be in the sun during the day, but in the shade in the evening. The view remains beautiful there, and with a bit of luck, you might even see a SUP rider tumbling into the water 😉 The interior is charmingly old-fashioned, which, in my opinion, could use a bit of a refresh. The kitchen is excellent, with a decent selection, and the food is well-prepared. It's also a great venue for events like a wedding or a party!

Top location on the Bergsche Plas. Nice terrace on the water. Also fun for children.... large sandbox with climbing equipment. Delicious menu with pancakes of course! Only downside... no thick, real whipped cream. Also recommended!

This was a real disappointment. We thought we were going out for a nice meal after having made a reservation. We were seated on the raised terrace overlooking the lake. The staff kept walking past us to serve us on the terrace, but they didn't notice us. After waving to the waiter, we were able to order drinks. These were brought, and after 15 minutes, they came back to ask if we wanted more drinks, but we wanted to order food. We ordered this and then didn't see any service for over an hour. We went to ask if we'd received any food, and the excuse was that they had had problems with the cash register two weeks ago. Instead, they went to the kitchen to ask. After 10 minutes, the food finally arrived, without an apology. We ordered drinks right away. After another 10 minutes, they asked if we wanted a drink on the house, even though all our glasses were full. We finished our food, and then they came back to ask if it was good. One drink was deducted from our bill when we paid. We mentioned that the service was very poor, and then they said it had been a long and hot day for us, so things weren't always going smoothly. We won't be returning.

As a newcomer to the Netherlands, I’ve been impressed by how safe and clean the tap water is here—something many countries can’t offer. So, during our visit, I politely asked the staff if they could refill my young son’s water tumbler with tap water. To my surprise, their response was that I should fill it from the toilet. As a parent and a guest, I found this answer quite disappointing and honestly a bit disrespectful. I understand if there are policies against refilling bottles, but the way it was communicated felt unnecessary and unkind—especially to someone still adjusting to a new country and culture. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. A little more empathy and a clearer explanation of restaurant policies would have made a big difference in how this interaction felt.

Completely worthless supposedly open until 21:00. Yesterday 20:00: we are closed, there is a wedding. Today: 19:30 we are closed there is a wedding.... Then just close those days but don't let people come as jokers.

After a lovely walk through the Bergse Bos I was invited for a bite to eat and a drink at this restaurant. It is a lovely spot by the water, with a terrace, a conservatory and an indoor area... it has also been refurbished, nice fresh toilets, a new floor and planters covered with soft furnishings, which also serve as dividers.... everything has been thought of....even bowls of water for the dogs and play equipment for the children... Pleasant, smooth and friendly service, the chosen pancake with bacon and cheese was fantastically baked... It was a quiet weekday but the terrace and restaurant were still well filled with several people... On all points my 5 stars for the atmosphere, the food, the service... Don't hesitate, just try it yourself...

Great food. Short menu, but the dishes are good. The spareribs were surprisingly tasty, tender and fell off the bone. Nice place by the water. You can sit inside and outside. Service young, enthusiastic and very friendly.

Mediocre quality food and service at ridiculous prices. We got a soggy day-old piece of apple pie with a spoonful of syrupy soft unroasted nuts on top: €5.25. We left it, but it was not taken off the bill either. In retrospect, the iced coffees were charged €1.30 per dollop of whipped cream, which was not mentioned anywhere, and that on top of the already shocking price of €4.95 per glass of sugar mix from a slush machine (was supposed to be iced coffee). Almost €15 for a pancake and €25 for a hamburger: not great. It is really nothing special here, but very expensive!

Great, cozy, simple restaurant with a nice terrace. Friendly service, delicious food. We come everywhere with our quiet, sweet, clean dog and we are also welcome in this restaurant. We come here about 15 times a year with the two of us, but also with our children and grandchildren. We think it is a shame (and incomprehensible) that we are not allowed to take a seat in the conservatory with our quiet, sweet, clean dog!! Very unfortunate! Everything else is fine!

I left this pancake house really disappointed. The wrong pancake was charged on the bill, with two extra options that I had not ordered. Instead of correcting this properly, the price of the more expensive (wrong) pancake was simply charged. No apologies, no solution. When I called later to ask why the bill was so high, I did not get a clear answer. But seriously — €25 for a pancake with a little ginger and butter? Are we completely crazy?

Spontaneously arrived at this restaurant during a bike ride. Very nice place. I just thought the price-quality ratio was very poor. You pay a lot for a factory apple pie. And then a lot of extra charges for whipped cream that drips off your plate because it is so thin. I won't go back here again. Too bad because the location is nice.

Regular customer because we live in the neighborhood behind it. Both pancakes looked like large crêpes. They were paper thin. Management asked if this was an incident. But regular staff indicated that she had also noticed that the pancakes had been a lot thinner recently. This will no longer be a regular spot for us when it comes to pancakes. Because you pay the same. Last February the pancakes were still a normal amount and your stomach was full after 1 piece. After my comment, the waiter did indicate that if you want the pancake to be thicker, you can request this in advance.

Quick lunch and a walk in the forest

Friday March 21st with my family of adults had another delicious lunch. The weather was beautiful and that is why their outdoor terrace is so nice. Despite the crowds fast and friendly service. The food is really great. Large portions. Well cared for. I have been coming here for years and it keeps getting better.

A nice family restaurant. It is very busy and noisy, fun, but you have to be able to tolerate it/love it. Nice that there is so much for the children, our daughter was able to play with other children. The food is fine, but on the high side for simple dishes. The coffee is mediocre.
