Charlie's Eetcafé in Wijk 23 Meerpolder

Last time eating at Charlie's because they are closing. Food was superb. Service and atmosphere were good, but because it was the last dinner evening, it was special Thank you Carlo and team for many fun and enjoyable years!

Had a nice last evening at Charlie's. Very unfortunate that they have to close due to corona aftermath and the opposition of the municipality of Lansingerland. Carlo thanks for more than 30 years of fun.

Always pleasant. Come to the comedy evening or the American games evening. The Berkel sports canteen. But unfortunately this is lost by the officials. This sports café will come to an end on March 31, 2025. Very unfortunate.

Here you can enjoy delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere. They have several beers on tap and even more in bottles. Friendly and pleasant service that makes it a pleasant meal. There is ample parking in front of the door.

Carlo and his staff create a family bond. It's like coming home every time.

Nice environment, cozy. Menu good. Service couldn't tell us whether steak was from the grill or from the pan. Ended up here because of the good reviews. Thought the steak was very tender. Unfortunately the sides tasted like liver, too bad, I expected more based on the reviews. And the price is too high for this. You could order more fries without having to pay extra if you wanted. Our opinion: mediocre.

To start with, we had a delicious meal. Suggestion is to use e.g. serve the schnitzel with some vegetables (now only mushrooms in the sauce) and pour a little more sauce on the large schnitzel.

We had dinner there on August 17. The welcome was friendly and so was the service. We had a lovely time outside under the canopy. No rush with serving between the starter, main and dessert. This "American" restaurant is located a bit remote in Berkel en Rodenrijs near many sports fields. Separate building, but nicely decorated. We happened to be able to sit outside because the weather was nice. Nice but simple menu with plenty of choice. Many steak dishes and spare ribs. These spare ribs are very tasty. Well seasoned too. Very nice service, but not very exuberant. It is the service you expect from this type of restaurant. Otherwise quite basic, which makes the atmosphere quite boring. We also had a great meal here. Nothing more and nothing less.

A real eatery, but with an excellent menu. The meat is tasty, the vegetables were good too. It's a shame that if you take a sirloin steak for 32 euros, you have to pay an extra 3.50 for a little bit of pepper sauce. That doesn't leave such a nice aftertaste.

Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for food, even though it was very quiet. Food was fine, but not enough fries for 2 people. Music choice was very poor.. constantly the same Daddy Yanky type music.

Nice food, but it took a bit long. Location on a sports complex, therefore ample parking, but not very rustic. The interior of the cafe itself is in good order.

The food was very good and the quantity was sufficient. The service itself was good. The only downside was that we had to wait 1.5 (!) hours before we were served our food, and then had to wait almost half an hour for dessert.

We really enjoy coming here. The food is always good. And the staff is great. Really the best spareribs😋😋

Went here on a Saturday and it was pretty busy with almost all tables full. I’ve been to many restaurants in smaller towns to big towns throughout the Netherlands, the service here was the nicest and most attentive service I have experience in the Netherlands! The atmosphere is more like Restaurant-bar vibe. Place was clean, no sticky floor so that was great!! Food is good and overall good value for money. 👌🏻

Unfortunately it was not to your liking. The expensive meat was cooked way too far, I reported this but nothing was done to me. Slow service, even though it was not busy and quite expensive. We came because we enjoyed a previous visit. Now unfortunately the opposite.

Voor de eerste keer gegeten bij Charlie's. Ontvangst, bediening en het eten allemaal 5 sterren meer dan waard.

Er was een rommelmarkt en we hebben hier even iets gedronken. Was mooi ingericht. En de appelsap was lekker.

Heerlijk gegeten en spontane bediening. Liep er per ongeluk even iets anders, werd dit echt netjes opgelost. Prima, echt een aanrader!

Heerlijk gegeten. Alleen bij de bestelling was de vraag oerfriet wat erbij zit of twisterfriet. We waren met zijn tweeën 1 koos oerfriet ander twisterfriet. Ik zei nog ehhh dat zit er toch niet bij. Ja het is of. Stond het toch op de rekening. Kwam ik thuis pas achter. Niet helemaal netjes. Maar verder heerlijk gegeten

Leuke plek en lekker eten. Maar wat een prijzen. Laatste rekening is een reden om helaas niet meer hier naartoe te gaan.

Heerlijke lunch gekregen van Humanitas bij charlie's eetcafe. Een mix van broodjes met luxe beleg en hapjes als sate, kip in een jasje en zalm.

Erg lekker eten en service is super vriendelijk.

Gereserveerd ivm verjaardag volgens site betaald de jarige niet. Dit blijkt sinds corona niet meer. Prima maar maak dat ook duidelijk op de site. Er zou bij het nagerecht iets feestelijke komen maar dat was niet aan betreffende ober doorgegeven dus ook vergeten. Verder hoge prijzen, 33 euro voor een stukje tournedos....

Heerlijk eten, super vriendelijke personeel en top sfeer

Heel leuk restaurant op een bijzondere plek namelijk omgeven door sportvelden, tennis- en padelbanen etc.. Eenmaal in het restaurant is daar niets van terug te vinden. Wel heel leuk en sfeervol ingericht. Bediening is top! En, niet onbelangrijk. het eten ook! Wij hebben dit restaurant nu zo'n 4 maal bezocht en elke keer was het eten prima en zeker niet te duur. Wij komen zeker terug!

Slechter kan haast niet. Weken geleden gereserveerd. De tafel vastgesteld 7 personen, 1 persoon lactose vrij, en 3 vegetarisch. We waren op tijd. Tent zat vol. Onze gereserveerde tafel was bezet. Dus dan 2e keus. Drankje kwamen snel. Bij diner keuze bleek niets over lactosevrij bekend, en 3 vegetarisch was ook niet bekend. De soep was inmiddels niet meer leverbaar, en ook de vegetarische puntpaprika gevuld was niet leverbaar, te weinig vraag naar. Maar zet het dan niet op de kaart. Dan maar iets anders veel keus is er niet. N a een dik uur wachten kwam het voorgerecht, vervolgens na anderhalf uur wachten geen hoofdgerecht in zicht. Zaak liep inmiddels leeg, en de kok was aan het opruimen. Om half zeven waren we binnen, en om negen uur verlieten we de zaak zonder één hoofdgerecht te hebben gegeten. We waren het lange wachten zat. Wat een teleurstelling. Verjaardag viering werd een droeve afgang. Hier komen wij dus nooit meer. Ze kunnen het gewoon niet aan. Een trieste constatering.

Een gezellig en leuk ingericht eetcafé. Het heeft een leuke Amerikaanse twist. Het mooie buitenterras (overdekt) is heerlijk toeven. Ik heb er nu al meerdere malen gegeten en nooit klachten gehad. Vrolijke maar vooral gezellige bediening. Mooi systeem met rode licht zuil als je de bediening nodig hebt. Ruime keuze in bieren en wijn. De kaart is meer dan voldoende. Mijn aanraders de gemarineerde zalf als vooraf. Steak je schoonmoeder of spareribs als hoofdgerecht. Maar ook de div Hamburgers zijn zeer royaal. Patenteren is geen probleem. Een zeer groot gratis parkeerterrein voor de deur. Rolstoel toegankelijkheid is dik voor mekaar. Kortom een aanrader voor een leuke avond borrelen en eten. Uit de mooie en schone keuken komen de lekkerste gerechten. Klaargemaakt door toppers en opgediend door kanjers.

Met vijf vrienden uiteten in de buurt en we kwamen uit bij Charlies eetcafe. In eerste instantie werd er bij één van ons een fout gemaakt met het eten, waardoor zij uiteindelijk in haar eentje zat te eten. Alles behalve gezellig natuurlijk, maar iedereen maakt weleens een fout. Om het goed te maken bood de serveerder ons gratis drankjes aan, hij communiceerde dit alsof wij allen een drankje op het huis kregen. Zo'n aanbod wijst geen enkele Nederlander af, wij dus ook niet. Toen ik een van de laatste happen van mijn eten wilde nemen wees mijn vriendin mij op een haar in mijn burger. Eet smakelijk! Om het feestje rond te maken klopte de bon niet. Dit was de tweede keer dat ik hier at, beide keren klopte de bon niet. Misschien zijn de simpele tenten in Berkel wat voor jou maar ik pas.

Gezellig eetcafé dat helemaal in (Amerikaanse) stijl is ingericht. De menukaart is best uitgebreid met voor ieder wat wils en voor de kinderen zelfs blauwe smurfen-mayonaise. De prijzen zijn wel aan de hoge kant voor een eetcafé maar de porties zijn royaal en het smaakt bijzonder goed. Vriendelijk personeel en meer dan voldoende parkeergelegenheid. :)
