Very good food but always hard to rate 5 stars. The ambiance is great and the service is wonderful. The gnocchi was top notch and the bolognese was delicious (my wife said not the greatest) but a very good and meaty. We made reservations with a deposit online and they took that out of the final bill. We also added notes about a shellfish allergy and that we prefer gluten free options. They were sure to point all of our requests out right away. Thank you!

Sure, here’s a more natural version: Fiko is honestly my favorite Italian spot in Amsterdam. The vibe is super cozy, and the food is always on point. Their pasta and pizza taste just like the ones you’d get in Italy , fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. The staff is really friendly too, which makes the whole experience even better. If you’re craving authentic Italian food in a nice setting, Fiko’s the place to go.

In one word, exceptional! The atmospheric was welcoming, the wine was great and the food was absolutely amazing! The cherry on the top was our lovely waitress Elena, she was very kind, funny and helped us adjusting some of the dishes as we weren't the easiest costumers. Pizza is bad, service even worse!

Decent restaurant, but in my experience nothing special. The food was good Italian food, but it personally didn't wow me (boyfriend loved the cheesy gnocchi though). The service was mixed, the waitress was very kind, but the service in general wasn't attentive (it took long before we got our water, we got our wine after we had already gotten our food (which we ordered at the same time), took a while to get the check).

I was part of a group of six that dined here on New Year’s Eve, and I have to say, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. For €160 per person, we expected a high standard of service and food, but the evening was a complete mess from start to finish. We arrived at 9 PM, but it took nearly an hour just to receive the menus because the waitress forgot about them. Once we finally placed our order, the food took another 30 minutes to arrive, and when it did, the quality was shocking. The mussels with caviar weren’t complete—one portion was missing the caviar entirely. The carpaccio looked and tasted unappealing, and the tagliatelle with lobster was basically just pasta in tomato sauce, as the lobster was completely empty. Things didn’t improve with the main courses. The beef we ordered well-done was served nearly raw, and the salmon was overly oily and tasteless. One of us even felt sick after eating it. By the time the desserts arrived at almost midnight, none of us were in the mood to eat anymore. Our waitress was sympathetic and called the manager, who apologized and promised a full refund. However, we later received a call offering only half the amount in vouchers, which didn’t help since none of us plan to return. Speaking with the owner afterward was just as frustrating—she was dismissive and even rude when we mentioned our disappointment. The entire evening was unacceptable. What should have been a celebratory New Year’s Eve turned into a night of frustration, and we ended up leaving the restaurant hungry and upset. For the price we paid, the service and quality were absolutely not worth it.

The food here is all authentic Italian food with a sushi bar included with all kinds of wine so if you want to try a new flavor of wine an not just your favorite go too’s. Then you will like this restaurant.

New Year's Eve 2024 Sh Pure disaster! Food doesn't taste good at all Waited 1 hour despite reservation. The waiter doesn't write anything down and forgets our orders, serves them incorrectly, dishes incomplete Managers and owners are dubious. Trying to cover up and manipulate everything and in the end we were told you would get the money back instead we got to see the real faces full of hate.

Disaster, this is not an Italian restaurant. These people promise you good food for a lot of money but in the end you will be disappointed. There was an Italian with me and even he said it was rubbish, especially the owner was really cheeky and arrogant, that's why I said please don't eat there and discourage everyone. After finally placing our order, we had to wait nearly another hour for the food to be served. The quality of the dishes was also highly disappointing: The welcome dish of mussels with caviar was incomplete, as one of the mussels had no caviar at all. The starter, carpaccio, neither looked nor tasted like a proper carpaccio – it was unappetizing. The tagliatelle with lobster was a major letdown: the lobster was entirely empty, making it feel like we were just eating pasta with tomato sauce. For the main course – beef or salmon – our request for the meat to be cooked "well done" was ignored, and it was served nearly raw. The salmon was equally unappetizing and inedible. By the time dessert was served, we had neither the appetite nor the time to eat it, as it was already close to midnight. Very disappointed with the service because no one took care of us, a long wait between the menus, food and dessert, I had never seen that! We were on the sidelines throughout and at the end once we paid, not even a thank you, have a good evening, no one took us to the door, I find it lamentable given the price of the dishes offered there is a minimum!! Too bad because otherwise the food is very good, we won't go back there because of the deplorable service.

This place hits the spot every time. The high level consistency is unparaleled in Amsterdam for a perfect Italian lunch or dinner - hence we keep going back. Never ordered out as we live very near by. Just have to book in advance, walk-ins are riskier as its almost always full. See you soon. Tks.

This place was amazing! The service was great, 2 italians attended us and were really kind. The tiramisu was delicious, and the pizzas was one of the bests ever. It had vegan options

An institution in Amsterdam serving the best Italian food in town. I enjoyed an exquisite lobster linguini flushed down with an extra brut franciacorta. The freshest oysters, focaccia straight out of the masonry oven + my partner had the pasta vongole which was delicately perfect too. The family that owns FIKO and Fikissimo run their own bakery in Bari so the desert had to be the finest artisanal panettone. Atmosphere is exactly our vibe, good music, without pumping it too loud like they have to prove something. No surprise it's almost impossible to get a table without reserving. Looking forward to going back given the innovative menu rotations surrounding the core classic Italian dishes.

The staff were rude, impolite, and completely unfriendly throughout our visit. It felt like they didn’t care about the customers at all. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

Yes, writing a review and then not receiving any comments back from the owner actually makes no sense. Because are they even going to read this? We had a delicious meal. Considering our age, we may say, we have a lot of experience. It's okay that you charge 16 euros for a Negroni. But it doesn't seem right to me that you charge 15 euros for a Campari with ice cream. We spoke to the waiter about it but he shrugged his shoulders. And then I think if you pretend to be real Italians then you should also know that this is not true. We had a super fun evening and a delicious meal, but we still left with a total bill of 163 euros with a sour taste. And we thought, well, I don't know if we want to go back here. They are not tourists but live in Amsterdam!

Fiko is not only our favorite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam, but one of the best ever! It is the place where we celebrate every special occasion, from romantic dinners to the most important moments of our lives. The food is simply extraordinary: excellent quality ingredients, authentic flavors and dishes that express a true passion for cooking. The tartare and carpaccio, in particular, are among the best we have ever tasted! And what about wines and cocktails? Always perfect, with attention to detail. We recently celebrated my graduation here: there were 20 of us and we were all thrilled. It's incredible how Fiko manages to maintain such a high level even with a large table and a full room! Every dish was impeccable, and the service was incredibly efficient, friendly and attentive. A real round of applause to the team! What do we recommend? The beef tartare, the beef carpaccio, the cacio e pepe ravioli, the Florentine or the tagliatelle... but, honestly, any dish you choose will be a success! At Fiko we have never been wrong: it is an experience that goes beyond dinner, a place where you feel pampered and always leave with a smile. We all know that Italians, when travelling abroad, will always look for some Italian food at one stage. Well, if in Amsterdam, don’t fall for places pretending to offer Italian food but you must go to Fiko. They offer classic Italian food with style, combining tradition and a modern approach. Great vibrant atmosphere and warm, professional service. Highly recommended.

I haven't been to Amsterdam for a meal in a long time, but now I'm heading out with a friend. The restaurant has a luxurious appearance, they are very friendly upon receipt. When you have this look and a card with expensive prizes, you expect something. I ordered the caprese salad. Way too salty, the mozzarella had a certain taste as if it had another cheese in it. I ate it anyway, but didn't like it very much. We had barely finished our salad when our main course was already in front of us. A pasta that looks delicious, but unfortunately was almost cold: Pasta gorgonzola. Didn't taste bad, but very pricey for what you get. Dessert: lava cake, lacked chocolate flavor in my opinion. I've eaten better, and that for I think €14. What further bothered me: we live in the Netherlands, but none of the waiters spoke Dutch and the music was so loud that you could hardly have a conversation. When I asked if the music could be turned down, I didn't really get a friendly answer. A place with potential, but as far as I'm concerned they are mainly geared towards the foreign audience. Shame.
