FIKO - Restaurant in Helmersbuurt

Prices were high but the food quality was above what you normaly get in an Italian restaurant. We were three people and all of us were very satisfied with our meals and the desserts. The portion sizes were much larger than expected, unnecessary large. In fine dining usually portion sizes are smaller than average. The waitress were knowledgeable and very service minded. Overall a successful night.

Overall food was good not great not the biggest disappointment was about their service. We just don’t feel welcome there and couple of arrogant staffs. There are plenty of great places in Amsterdam that can offer you great food, great atmosphere and intensive service.

An elegant and refined restaurant. The staff were professional, kind, helpful, and friendly. We were served by waiters Davide and Eros, both magnificent. They recommended appetizers and main courses, and we were thoroughly satisfied! Just like being in Italy, I recommend the dishes accompanied with truffles for those who love them. For dessert, the tiramisu was delicious!

We had a wonderful meal at FIKO Amsterdam! The dishes were exceptionally flavorful and clearly prepared with care. The service was excellent: we received excellent service from Eros, who knew exactly what he was doing and truly elevated our experience. Highly recommended!

- Staff wasn’t at the door to greet me and take me to my table - When I sat down, it took more than 10 minutes for them to come back to get the order for drinks - Wine glass portion was VERY small, and it was served somewhere and brought to me at the table. The wine should always be served in front of you, and asked first if you want to try it to see if it’s good - Salmon tartare had no flavour at all. Also tartar should always come with bread or toast on the side, this one didn’t so I had to pay extra almost 10 euros for a focaccia - Tartufiko was also one of the most bland, unseasoned pastas I ever tasted

It’s decent food but it’s not transcendent. Lots of ‘bells and whistles’ in the sense that the tastes are made intense, but lack in subtlety and refinement. They play relatively loud lounge music, if that’s your vibe. Service was great.

Wow, just wow🤩. The food was amazing. Here's a little example: I ordered the Bruschetta. I thought it would be the usual thing, like always. Nope! It was made with zucchini (see picture on the left) and tasted fantastic 🫡♥️ Chapeau to the chef. The pizza was also a dream, and the wine list was gigantic! Non-alcoholic drinks were available too, of course, but nothing beats a good wine with the meal 🍷. The staff was very polite, courteous, and made you feel well taken care of. Quality has its price, and I'm more than willing to pay it here. The ambiance was kept dark, lots of black, sophisticated. The quiet music in the background increases the feel-good factor and having a conversation was easily possible despite the music and the fully occupied neighboring tables. P.S.: It's best to make a reservation a day in advance. That way, you won't be disappointed 😊.

Very good place to eat and tasty

Very good address in Amsterdam, we stumbled upon it by chance, they only had one place left at the bar, right in front of the kitchen. It was great to see behind the scenes. The starters and main courses were excellent. Special mention for the beef carpaccio (grated truffle supplement). We even went back for our last evening of vacation because it was so good!

We dined at Fiko for the first time, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The service was excellent, and the food exceeded all our expectations. Our server, Erso, was amazing; his positive energy and genuine friendliness made us feel truly welcome. The dessert, the tiramisu, was definitely our favorite. We'd definitely love to come back!

We visited as a group. While the truffle pasta was enjoyable and the tiramisu was decent, some dishes were less impressive. The meat dish arrived cold, the parmigiana was rather average, and the profiterole unfortunately felt empty inside with a mediocre chocolate sauce. Considering the many positive reviews and social media recommendations, my expectations were higher. I might return to try the pizza, but overall the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype.

This is an atmospheric watery with great Italian food and really nice staff. They accommodated our group as a late night walk-in whilst managing our expectations around the time kitchen was closing. Service was efficient and friendly!

Solid spot with yummy food. Has a really good vibe, casual but slightly trendy. Service was excellent, friendly and helpful. They have gluten free pasta options available. The Pistacchio e Gamberi PISTACCHIO pasta was delicious, and the gluten free spaghetti was some of the best gluten free pasta I’ve had.

Lovely place, lovely meal. For this weary traveler just off a plane from California a few hours prior it was so nice to have a good meal. Even though I arrived 9 minutes before closing they accommodated me with great service and a complementary Limoncello!! Highly recommended!

Very nice Italian restaurant, service is very kind, I asked if air conditioning could be lower and they immediately did that for me. Food is ok, my truffle pasta was not super delicate, they put cream I think and resulted quite heavy, good taste nonetheless. The pizza dough was well done, but the cheese was not great quality. I liked the starters selection; overall maybe a bit overly priced for the offer though

A beautiful, darkly decorated restaurant with a menu featuring a wide selection of meat and fish, as well as an extensive wine list. Few beers. Delicious tartare, but also fish. Friendly and exceptionally attentive service. In short: highly recommended.

A wonderful experience at this establishment. I wanted to eat pasta because I love it. The first evening I had shrimp and pistachio pasta, and the next evening I had tagliatelle Bolognese. The profiteroles were also very good. I was given a complimentary "Limoncello" digestif. I would like to emphasize the beauty of this understated and classy restaurant. Thank you to Gabriella, the sweet Elena, and the elegance of the bearded gentleman. Big thumbs up to the exceptional chef. I chose for a long time based on reviews, wanted to reserve a table online, but you need to pay a 15 euro deposit for booking, decided to go and try to sit down, the restaurant was almost empty. We ordered Margherita and pasta with truffle. The portions are large, but tasteless. The pasta had a slightly sour sauce for me, too many mushrooms and when I ate, I didn't enjoy it)) My daughter ate pizza, the dough is very bland, no taste and Mozzarella, which is very difficult to eat, the cheese is all stretched out and you immediately get all the cheese in your mouth and you chew this piece for a very long time, like gum. I also didn't like the service, they quickly cleaned up, paid, after paying by card they said "Bye" although we were still sitting! In a word - TASTELESS! I don't recommend it.

I recently dined at Fiko Amsterdam and had a very good experience. We started with the clams appetizer, which was a definite highlight. The clams were very tasty, and the broth was flavorful and delicious. For our main courses, we had the pasta bolognese and the pistachio pasta. The pastas themselves were homemade and had a great texture, but both dishes were surprisingly lacking in salt, which is a simple fix but something I typically don't have to do. The spinach side dish also needed more salt. Despite this, the service was great and the food was good overall. I also highly recommend the Negroni; the drinks were excellent. With just a little more seasoning, the food would have been perfect.

This was an experience to remember. The staff is very friendly and know what they are talking about. The food was so delicious. Especially the homemade recipes are absolutely worth it.

A truly highly recommended Italian restaurant experience abroad. An elegant restaurant that doesn't mince its words, with precise and punctual service, yet not intrusive. We tried an appetizer of salmon and avocado tartare, a generous sharing dish, fresh yet elegant and well-made. The first courses were truly spectacular. Cacio e pepe tortellini with grated truffles; the cacio e pepe was flavorful and enhanced by the truffle. The tagliolini with mushrooms and truffles with truffle caviar was truly excellent, super flavorful and balanced. For dessert, the tiramisu was excellent, truly Italian, with mascarpone and incredibly flavorful; you won't find anything better in Amsterdam. A must-try; the price is in line with the city, but the level and quality of the food and service are truly a cut above the rest.

It's very dark inside, but it has a great atmosphere. The food was truly excellent, definitely worth the price! The service was okay, fast, and excellent, but a smile wouldn't have hurt. It's a shame they still use time slots.

Ordered delivery - very disappointing. Possibly the most bland takeout pasta I’ve ever had. They also forgot the pizza we ordered.

The food was just average. Starters were great, but what I had for the main course, which was the Pasta Carbonara, it felt that the pasta was half cooked with sometimes burnt pieces of ham. Which for me wasn’t nice at all.

They charge 15 EUR per person upfront, which is fine, and then they charge 30 cents or 1 EUR transaction fee per reservation, depending on how you pay. Insanity!!! One of my favorite places in Amsterdam. Cool vibe and great food but I am not going back unless they remove the fee for the prepayment

Absolutely loved my experience at Fiko Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of charm. The service was impeccable—our server was attentive, kind, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. We started with the burrata and focaccia, and wow—what a way to begin! The burrata was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the soft, flavorful focaccia. For mains, we had shrimp and calamari with a fresh salad—everything was super fresh, perfectly cooked, and seasoned just right. The quality of the seafood was top-notch, especially for the price. You could really taste the care that went into every dish. And then… the tiramisu. Don’t even get me started—it was next-level delicious. Light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Easily one of the best I’ve ever had. All around, Fiko delivered on every front—flavor, service, ambiance, and value. Will definitely be back!

Nice place with good attention. Food was good too specially the pasta. Price of dishes seems to be slightly overpriced. We enjoyed the dinner which was fine but overpriced.

I ordered tartufiko pasta through uber eats and it was huge disappointment. For the price of 29 euros I’ve got bland overcooked pasta with bland heavy sauce with some mushrooms on the top (quantity of mushrooms compared to the pasta portion was not adequate). Definitely not worth the money.

Very nice staff but food in relation way too expensive for what you get. The vitello tonato way too salty, the pasta tasted fine but I could have made it myself. 120 euros for a shared starter each a pasta a glass of wine bottle of water and a coffee and tea. But it is full

I have been here 5 times now, but on 26-06-2025 it was a big disappointment. We ate here and the Melanzane Parmigiano was very soggy and full of oil. The pizza was also very disappointing, it seemed like the dough was not baked/risen properly and the vegetables on it were also a bit flabby. When I made a comment about the Melanzane, the waiter said that it was "normal" because it is made once every 3-4 days and frozen. They offered us a coffee on the house?! And that for a dish of €22,- Total of almost €100 had to pay and both came home with stomach ache and diarrhea. After telephone contact the next day, they said they would call me back from management, which did not happen. Not for me anymore in any case.

Sorry but I would not recomend this restaurant! I felt scammed as the food was nothing special, tartare i could find anywhere and pasta was overcooked and not super tasty. As an Italian I would not recomend it. Also it was not chick as they promote.. we paid 80€ each, which i think it’s too much for a dinner like this!

This restaurant is FANTASTIC. Delicious, authentic Italian food served by absolute professionals. Watching them move like a well oiled machine while eating my meal was a delight.

In Fact we were at Fikissimo (just facing Fiko and I guess under same management). Great ambience, not too long menu, but what was there was of great quality. Decoration creating a chic atmosphere, although music too loud for my preferences.

We’ve ordered delivery from here so many times, and even though it was delivered, the food was always really good. This time, we finally got the chance to eat at the restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday — and it didn’t disappoint. The ingredients were fresh and everything tasted great. We usually go for pasta or lasagna, but we decided to try seafood this time. The waiter recommended the octopus as the appetizer (dish of the day), and it was fresh and tasty. I had only mentioned in the online booking that it was my husband’s birthday, and they surprised him with a candle on his dessert without me even asking. That thoughtful gesture even surprised me! The staff was super friendly and polite. The only thing was the music.. it was a bit too loud at our table, so it was a little hard to talk.

I like the food and the wine. The servers were polite but I didnt like that they disturbed us way too much. In the middle of an important conversation they would come 6 times to take something from the table or put something or ask something. They wouldn’t leave us alone. Didnt like it.
