After ordering another server came over to say we couldn’t place an order without ordering drinks because “it was busy hour and we couldn’t take the table without drinks” even though we ordered 4 full meals already😀 a joke. Food is very mid and the salami pizza was served with a Turkish sausage instead of proper salami. Don’t recommend its a scam. Ps i do know what I’m talking about because i was with three of my friends who are also Turkish😭

Probably some of the best Italian food you'll find in Amsterdam, and at slightly more affordable prices. The classic lasagna is incredible! My favorite in the world. The servers are friendly, and the place has that vintage, laid-back '90s vibe. Don't hesitate to go.

Found this by accident when our driver could go any further into this district so we wandered around looking for some good lunch. We got lucky as this was a fun and local place. Everything was tasty and we had a crazy and funny group of workers having lunch there.

Extremely disappointing experience. We walked into this pizzeria hoping for a relaxed meal, but the staff’s behavior was shockingly rude. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet they refused to let us dine because we ordered just one Margherita pizza to share and didn’t want drinks. Instead of welcoming customers, they lectured us on their “policy.” In a busy area like Leidseplein where every other place was lively and friendly, this one stood out for its arrogance and complete lack of hospitality. If a restaurant is half-empty during dinner time, maybe it’s not the customers who need to change — it’s the attitude. Would never recommend this place to anyone visiting Amsterdam. It’s interesting that instead of addressing the rude behavior, you chose to lecture me on “food culture.” A good restaurant doesn’t measure guests by how much they order — it shows courtesy regardless. If serving a single pizza is such a burden, perhaps it says more about your attitude than my order. Clearly, hospitality isn’t on your menu, which explains why you’re not exactly a good restaurant.

Worst experience I’ve had in Amsterdam. The staff here have zero understanding of hospitality. The restaurant was almost empty, yet they refused to serve us because we ordered one Margherita pizza for two people without drinks. Instead of being welcoming, they acted arrogant and dismissive, as if forcing customers to order more could make up for their empty tables. There’s a reason this place has empty seats while every other restaurant around Leidseplein is buzzing — bad attitude, poor service, and overpriced food. If you want to enjoy real pizza and friendly service, walk a few steps to literally any other place nearby. Edit 1: Post the reply from the restaurant owner - rather than addressing core concerns you're here being a keyboard warrior and not introspecting which says alot about the attitude, thank you for being the only bad experience in Amsterdam.

Sorry my pictures are mid meal, we were that hungry and this looked amazing. Walking by I was looking around and the owner met me with a long distance style and zero pressure. When we got to the end of the street for me it was a simple answer as to where we were going. Very attentive staff, delicious food, and 100% recommend.

Very nice pizzeria. The food came quickly, tasted very good, and was also very reasonably priced. The only downside is, unfortunately, the exorbitant drink prices: Soft drink 0.2 l: €3.80 & Soft drink 0.4 l: €7!!!

We had an amazing dinner at Pizzeria Il Palio in Amsterdam. The carpaccio, burrata, focaccia, four cheese pizza, mushroom pizza, and pasta in bread were all delicious. We finished with profiterole and tiramisu – both fantastic. Great food, perfect location, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended

My family's favorite restaurant in the world! Especially love the lamb chops and pizzas but everything else we tried has also been fantastic, and at a fair price at that.

Immediately went for a review after finishing the food because: The food was GREAT! i had lasagna and they tasted so fresh and good. so good lasagna. We had a focaccia, and i cannot explain how good that was. My friend had the 4 cheese pasta, said it was very good. The atmosphere is nice and cozy The service was very pleasant The only reason i don’t have pictures is because we ate everything before we even thought about taking pictures. We had a great time

We accidentally came across this wonderful place and were very pleased. We highly recommend it to everyone visiting Amsterdam! A restaurant with delicious cuisine and excellent service staff. Special thanks to the owner of the establishment, Max, for his warmth, hospitality and the highest professionalism! Of the dishes, we recommend the delicious pizza and pasta! Beef and lamb steaks are tender and juicy. As a compliment, they bring butter according to a special recipe (kept secret) with a crispy baguette. Desserts are beyond praise - chocolate fondant 😍😍 Thank you very much for the warm welcome, we will definitely come back!

Really good pizza for a good price and the service was good too. The only thing was the drinks were very pricey, for 0.2l Sprite almost 4 € is crazy but ig it's like that everywhere in Amsterdam.

Nice To sit outside and eat however the food was subpar for what we got. The calamari was chewy and only 6 pieces for 9 euros. The pizzas were okay, toppings were scarce and taste was okay.

We come here since 2008 when we were working at H&M Leidse square and had many what we called 5 euro pizza on our retailwage for dinner, 17 years later its still delicious food for your euro and service is 💯! Thank you Jacques and colleagues for so many memories!

We went for lunch as family. The Italian garlic bread is highly recommended as well. Pasta Con Pollo is great. The staff are good. Inside is spacious.

the nation of italy should sue for selling fake italian food. this smal restaurant sits among a throng of restaurants sort of like a 'food court' outdoors. strictly for people who eat frozen take home pizza and spaghetti sauce out of a can. i suspect the large portions are the draw.

The pizzas are delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is attentive and friendly. It can be preferred for a nice meal in a comfortable environment.

We actually liked the pizzas, I wish there were no hairs inside. Also, the environment is very narrow. Such cramped environments can be uncomfortable.

The pizza special is just too much bread and roccula and no basilicum but canned pesto and has no taste. If a special pizza is like this, what about the other types? :(

Bolognese was okay... tomato soup was too salty, but the olives were the highlight. They were so bad... I don't even know where you can get something like that... Our waitress said that he wouldn't have charged them if we had said something... but for me it wasn't about payment but rather the question of how one even came to put something so bad on the table. When he tried them, he even had to admit that they were bad, but he said he hadn't tried them before. That probably says it all.

First time ordering via Thuisbezorgd.. had to pay 7.50 euros for delivery costs. Indicated to the gentleman that I thought it was a lot of money.. was treated completely disrespectfully. It didn't bother him at all, he was already downstairs (from the 1st floor) while I was still talking to him.

Kind hospitality, fast service, delicious pizza. A little bit tight in the basement when crowded. I suggest going there out of peak hours.

Small, unusual place, where we ate very well. 4 cheese tortelini and gorgonzola lasagna with a 1L bottle of San pellegrino + 1 coffee and 1 fresh mint tea for less than €50. It was excellent :)

Don't tell anyone! This is a perfect address. We ate the best pizza ever here. The meat dish can only be found in the highest class restaurants. The house wine is lively and extremely pleasant. The bill is disappointing (:-) it is much lower than the enjoyment of what was consumed.

The prices are very cheap, especially for Amsterdam, and it's the best Italian food in this price segment that I've had in the Netherlands. The staff is always polite and provides great, quick service, even on busy days. It's been the third time that I came here now, and it certainly won't be the last.
