Restaurant with good value for money. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is good. The burgers are really quite good, but the fries are way too salty.

Although the store is in a very nice place and the personnel was friendly and fast, the food was the worst experience I have ever had in the Netherlands. I ordered the smoked bbq burger and once it came there was no cohesion between the elements of the burger, no heat, no oozy cheese and a serious lack of love that went into puzzling the burger together. To start off, the buns were cold and lathered with bbq sauce and onion jam straight out of the fridge, followed by 1 cm of confused lettuce and tomatoes and a thin piece of over cooked beef patty with some cheddar on top that was not even melted! COLD cheddar on a burger! Super unimpressed. I’m sorry to say it but the only thing tasty was the pickle on my plate. Definitely best to skip this one as it’s not worth the whopping 24 euros (not including drinks)

Wow!! Absolutely in my top 3 burgers of all time. Even though we arrived two minutes before their kitchen closed, the staff were very polite and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the burgers. And if we ever find ourselves in Utrecht again, this restaurant will be our first choice for a dinner.

Got double cheeseburger, and the taste is not the same as ı got used to. The beer glass came soupy which is alerting for hygiene! I ordered pickles on side, but it was look like served multiple times before and looks not fresh.

Amazing burgers, went alone for lunch on a Saturday and restaurant was very quiet, food was exceptional and waitress was very friendly and had a nice conversation with her. Would highly recommend.

Definitely the worst burger I've ever had in my life. Extremely expensive!!!! $24 for a burger??? It was disgusting, as were the chips and chicken tenders I had with it. It took 45 minutes for our order??? Seriously??? 45 minutes to make a burger??? I can honestly say that everything I received was probably one of the most disgusting things I've tried in my life! I will never, ever return here. Extra... I ordered one of the few things that didn't have pickle included in the menu... Yes. It was full of slices of pickle... To make thing's worse... It actually had half a pickle staked into the burger??? Seriously??? If someone asks fo no pickle, DON'T ADD EXTRA! Definitely a place you should never visit. Avoid here at all cost's! This is definitely my number one of places to NEVER go to! Avoid at all costs! The "food" here is absolutely disgusting!

One usually doesn’t expect much from the vegetarian options in such meat forward places. But the vegetarian patty here was ACTUALLY delicious. I ordered the Jamaican Black Angus Burger with the vegetarian patty and it was quite delicious. It had its own personality and the texture paired well with the sauces. The fries are also quite good.

Delicious burgers; I had the Bizondere burger once before. This time the Chef's special, a juicy burger, well-topped, and tasty fries with rosemary on the side. The mushroom burger was also a hit.

Been here a lot of times. It is a classic. Burgers are very tasty, served with French fries by default and menu has quite a lot of different options. Service is a bit slow on busy hours. You might end up waiting 45 mins for a burger. Definitely a must-try for burger lovers.

While Spanish burgers are generally considered the best for various reasons, I can honestly say this one was truly excellent. The price is below what you'd expect from the quality and compared to prices in the Netherlands. It will cost you about the same as in Spain, and it's well worth it. 100% recommended.

We had a great lunch here yesterday. I had the single and my husband had the triple. Both of us really enjoyed our burgers and the rosemary fries were great. Friendly staff. We look forward to returning!

A lovely atmosphere; the place is located in a quaint, narrow alley, all very historic, and has a fantastic vibe. The staff is very friendly and speaks fluent English—perfect. The burgers were tasty, no complaints for the price, but nothing extraordinary. You can get similarly good burgers much cheaper elsewhere nearby. That has to be said. But the atmosphere here is really special, very cozy, and that's worth the extra cost. Very nice, I would definitely visit again.

Nice and good beef meat burgers with customization options (I liked adding jalapenos). Served with some fries or/and cole. Of course always served with ... a pickle! :-) Also vegetarian options, didn't try those. Quality wines available as well, we enjoyed a glass of Carmenere. High price for a burger, but it's high quality meat (not just a regular burger).

What makes a burger worth 25 euro? Its not the sauce, its not the extra toppings, its not the "brioche bun". Its not the fancy surroundings (this place is just a college burger bar). Its not the fries (which are excellent that's why I gave them 2 stars) Its the quality and preparation of the meat, the beef patty that is the heart of a burger. The beef patty inside the 25 euro burger that I was sold by this place came right out of a box of 48 patties, sold by a supplier, not at all prepared by the kitchen, just right out of their fringe on to the grill still cold and pressed. I was told by the server that all their burgers are suggested medium-rare. Flash alert; you can only prepare the burger medium rare when it is at room temperature when it goes on the grill. Tell the "chef"! The burger patty sold to me for 25 euros had the texture of a meatloaf prepared by a 5-year-old and tasted like a bunch of newspapers used to clean up some mechanical grease. It is clear that this kitchen is ran by children whose taste buds are operated by the apps on their phones. And the glass of wine i got had a 2/3 pour. .

Had the sliders as I wasn’t sure what to get, did not disappoint! Great selection of burgers to suit anyone. My partner had the vegetarian burger and it was also a hit. On first sight it seemed like a typical 2/3 menu burger joint but their variety on one dish was amazing. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The place was clean and so were the toilet facilities. 10/10

I’ve been visiting this place for nearly 7 years now, and I still look forward to every visit. The quality of the ingredients and the care they put into their food are always outstanding. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with the feel of a cozy bar that’s perfect for catching up with friends or colleagues. The staff are consistently friendly and happy to help when you’re deciding what to order. Hands down, my favorite spot for burgers!

We were a group of 6 including a baby, where two of us were located on another table next to us. Those 2 persons would stay only for drinks but then 2 waitresses told us that they can stay on a table and have to move to the bar. The place was empty inside, so no excuses that they would lose another client. And also no reservations were on that table. We left the place, so better consider going to other place were are not so much money-hunters

I've never had such good burgers. I had the "Sliders": three mini burgers for the same price as one large, but with them I got to try all three varieties (Black Angus, Bison, and Smokey Barbecue). Absolutely fantastic! Plus, a delicious Green Apple Slow and good fries. The local beer selection was also wonderful! Perfect dinner.

Good and tasty burgers with rosemary fries, crispy onion rings (B-king could learn a thing or two from them), and a good glass of Rioja Crianza. No bottle this time 😉! It's easy to get there from Hoog Catharijne. Last Saturday, I was walking through Utrecht's restaurant street and came across Pickles Burger & Wine. A colleague had recommended it to me a few years ago, and I secretly regret not having eaten here until now. For me, this was: The best burger ever. A delicious smoky dry-aged burger for me, and my friend ordered the Biz'dere burger. The table next to us ordered the spicy burger, and judging by the noise, it was apparently quite spicy as well. It's clearly marked on the menu, by the way. We had a lovely bottle of red wine to take home with us, as it was closing time. Although the bottles often go overboard (they have to make a living), it wasn't too bad. Super friendly and welcoming staff. Highly recommended!!!

Unfortunately it happened already too many times that they don’t stick to the closing hours they have. We planned our evening so we could have dinner late, we got there at 21.36 and the kitchen was closed already even if the closing time was 22. Very disappointing and it was not the first time.. I’m fed up with this service and definitely I would not come back anymore

Last visited June 2025 Dined solo at the bar, so a big positive in my books. Visited twice now, 2024 and June 2025 Ordered the special on both occasions (changed since my first visit) and was not disappointed. The burgers was nicely cooked and the sauce was perfect.

Love the place, the best burgers in Utrecht

My introduction to Pickles was many years ago. Absolutely fantastic, I believe it was a veal+tuna burger, and my waiter did a great job recommending a wine to match that and my preference. But since then, they've become boring: no more interesting items on the menu, just standard ungulate meat. It's just an ordinary burger joint now—good for what it is, but no longer special. Perhaps 3 stars is harsh, since the hamburgers are good, so I'll give them 4, even as I rant that I'm tired of seeing unique artistry replaced by conventionality.

The burgers are a blast. We've been there 5 months ago, still remember the king of burgers. That's why we went there twice on our 2 day utrecht stay. The burgers are not only juicy but also super tasty. The staff is friendly, even remembers you the next day. The pickle theme...even to be found in the ketchup. Will go there again, whenever we are in reach of utrecht. If we could, we would give Michelin stars...but ok, it's google at least

Very attentive and fast service. The burgers are large and tasty. The bread could be better, at least it could be toasted. The fries are absolutely amazing with the seasoning and super tasty. Sitting outside in the small alley isn't ideal, as the wall opposite is very dirty and there's a lot of traffic.

Very friendly service, smooth and friendly from start to finish. The waitress had a good suggestion from the chef that was actually very tasty. The burgers took a while to arrive, but they weren't bad. Tasty pickle! With 180 grams of patty you will have quite a task. The downside is that we were not asked how we wanted the burger, so they were a bit too well done for our taste. The southern chicken is the size of chicken nuggets, expected a bit more for the price, but tasty. Paid 70+ euros in total. All in all a good experience, but a bit on the expensive side.

What happened here?!?! I always found the burgers here to be quite tasty, but the burger I had yesterday was almost unbearable. Tasteless meat, way too much sauce, a tomato on my burger (huh?), and pale fries. According to the lady serving, there was no table available (while three quarters of the store was empty) so we had to sit at the bar. The staff was very busy with each other and was not very interested in the customers. When we left the place was completely empty. And we are 70 euros lighter (2 people). What a ball tent.

Super tasty food! The restaurant is in a fantastic location. We sat by the window, so we could look outside. There was plenty of choice on the menu and also a number of vegetarian options. The service was also really great! Small downside, the sound was sometimes a little too loud, so you couldn't always hear each other well. I will definitely come back here in the future

I’m from California and we have great burgers there- yet this place is out of this world! I had the Bison burger and it was phenomenal. Not only the meat, the entire burger was so delicious and well balanced. The burgers are huge so you could share, but they’re so delicious that you won’t want to share! Also got the coleslaw and it was also perfectly balanced, with an acid forward taste which left me craving more after every bite. Very refreshing! And I’m normally not a large pickle person but the pickle that came with the burger was so tasty! The burger came with fries and all the fries were golden and perfectly crunchy on the outside. The rosemary scent pierces through the nose in a delicate way and the sauce it came with!!! A perfect combo! Also, tried the bitter balls. Of course as a Dutch treat, they were good. Highly recommend this place! Can’t wait to go back!!
