We had a Truffle Burger and loaded fries. The cheddar cheese on the loaded fries tasted chemically. The burger was bland. Furthermore, the atmosphere in the restaurant was completely lacking. It was our first and last time.

It took an insanely long time. I ordered one burger and fries and waited 40 minutes for them. And then they forgot the two sauces I paid extra for. Terrible, I won't be back.

Worst dining experience ever. Four of us came here to eat and ordered at the same time. After 40 minutes, we took turns getting our orders... such a cozy meal... don't eat here unless you have plenty of time and want to take turns.

Fat Phil used to be delicious and offered good value. But after their recent menu overhaul, there were hardly any burger options, the burger had fewer sauces and toppings, and the loaded fries were now 90 percent fries, the rest meat. I'll be gone until they return.

The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and made quickly. The burger was delicious, and the fries were crispy and golden brown. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent.

Honestly, I don’t understand how this place has such a reputation. We were advised that the burgers and hot dogs here are very tasty, so we decided to try it. We ordered to go — to eat right away while everything is fresh. But what we got… was something. The bun was completely crushed, the meat was gathered in a pile — it looked like the chef simply hated this food and wanted to suffocate it 😅 Unfortunately, even the atmosphere in the establishment did not add to the impressions — not very welcoming. Maybe we were just unlucky, and someday I will give Fat Phill’s another chance. But after this experience, I don’t want to go there again at all.

Top service and super delicious food!

On a friend's recommendation, we went here for dinner. He raved about it. I was skeptical. How wrong I was... We ordered the following from the very friendly young lady (who does a fantastic job): - Hot Tamale burger - Onion rings - Battered fried chicken wings - Coleslaw The burger was absurdly, insanely, indescribably delicious. You can really taste the smashed patties with the caramelized onions, cheese sauce, and the spiciness of the peppers and jalapeños. Enjoyed every bite. The battered fried chicken wings were also very flavorful, fresh, and pure delight. All in all, a complete pleasure and definitely worth it. We'll be trying the other delicious items on the menu soon.

Ordered at 5:00 PM. Still nothing by 7:20 PM, so I called. They were miraculously just finishing our order, but the person literally said, "Yeah, busy, man." Shortly after, I called again because the delivery time had dropped from 12 minutes to 25, and we received a text message saying the order had been canceled. This employee, without any information, immediately knew which order it was and was suddenly "working on it," but promised to check and call back. This didn't happen, and suddenly the order from Thuisbezorgd had disappeared. Never again for us.

First they took my order wrong and thought I was going to share with my friend. Then I ordered again, they said they would prepare it, but still forgot. They are EXTREMELY slow and I don’t think they care about customer satisfaction at all. Do not go here there are much better burger places around.

The burger were tasty and halal, but the service was very slow. They forgot the second burger and only brought one of our meals. When we reminded them, they forgot again. So we left without waiting for it because we missed our train.

Just ordered through Uber Eats. If you're paying €40 for two burgers and fries, you expect quality, right? Everything was cold, no cheese on my cheeseburger, and the fries I was charged €7 for were actually three fries. Bizarre.

Ridiculous! I ordered two burgers, one waffle fries, and one regular fries with a friend. We literally waited 50 minutes for the two burgers and waffle fries, and the regular fries weren't even included. It happens. They said the regular fries would come later. Well, after half an hour of waiting, and after those 50 minutes, still nothing, so I looked in the kitchen. Suddenly, I saw one of the employees making himself a container of fries exactly like the one I ordered and then eating it. Absolutely ridiculous. I still haven't received my order, but this is the last straw for me to write a review. Don't go there!

Great smash burgers with a large selection. Great waffle fries. Great fried chicken burgers.

Honestly you can’t call this fast food. It took over 40mins to make a hamburger and normal fries meal. Never coming back here again. It’s ridiculous. Avoid if you can.

I'm giving it one star because I can't give it zero. The burger was as empty as my bank account after getting ripped off by this restaurant. Not to mention the rubbery fries, which suggest the cooks had no more energy to open a new bag of fries than to work hard to serve us in a respectable time. Run me away from this lousy restaurant.

I walked in and walked up to the counter to order and the young lady told me to sit and she would come take my order. She did about 10 minutes later. My food took a while. But, was pretty good actually. A burger and fires.. I asked to pay and when my total came to 23$ i tapped to pay and the added a 25% tip on top so my total came to $28. I told the guy I wasn’t trying to tip 25% on diner service and he said “you must have tapped it.” It’s $5. Im not gonna cause a scene. But, i won’t be back. Seemed low key kinda sketch, like this wasn’t the first time this had happened. I’ve worked in restaurants for years and I always would at least try to make my guests leave happy. I probably will not be returning. A real shame. Because the place has potential.

The service was terrible, and the burgers weren't great either. It also took ages, and they're terrible at timing. The milkshake was like water, as we got it right away and then had to wait a very long time for our food. The fries were also cold. And that's unbearable for that price.

Great value for money. We weren't sure where to eat in Utrecht, but we found this place, which was a real success. If I remember correctly, I ordered the truffle burger and my partner ordered the spicy breaded chicken burger, and they were delicious. We shared some potatoes with meat and sauce.

The burgers are very good and the fries too, it took a while for them to serve us, we went out to smoke because we had been waiting at the table for a long time, when we left they thought we were going to leave without paying even though we had told them we were going to leave, apart from that, the experience in the place is decent, the problem is when you digest... Deadly, I hope that if you eat there you have toilet paper to use any public bathroom because you are going to need it.

This is the first and last time I will eat at this fast food chain. I ordered a buffalo fries and a triple nashville chicken burger. I clearly stated that I did not want certain ingredients on my food. But instead I got the ingredients that I did NOT want on my food. I told this to a staff, who told me that I would have to wait another 30 MINUTES. I want to say that this is not a GO TO fast food chain where you should go to eat something! And ps, my burger was covered in sauce!! My friends said that my burger was swimming!

Wait time of over half an hour. Two people to serve the entire restaurant. The burger was well-done; it would have been tastier with a touch less. One of the bathrooms was out of service.

Food is not bad. The service is pretty good, they welcome you with a kind smile and are happy to accommodate you. It can be a bit noisy, though.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Unacceptable wait time I visited Fat Phyllis in Utrecht with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We waited for over an hour for our food, with no apology or update from the staff. Not even a glass of water was offered while we waited. The place wasn’t even full, so there’s really no excuse for such a delay. When the food finally arrived, it wasn’t worth the wait — just average at best. If this is considered “fast food,” then something is definitely off. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back. There are plenty of better places in Utrecht that actually respect their customers and their time.

Terrible service and service, they don’t work, they just eat, talk to each other and sit on their phones, I don’t recommend anyone to order, we waited an hour, it’s just….

From a hygiene perspective, the first impression is rather off-putting. Tables are only cleared after a long time by the previous person, and they are also only cleaned late. It must have been 15 minutes before someone came by to bring the menus (in a restaurant with seven seating areas and one bar table), so everything was very organized. After we had to wait a very long time (over 40 minutes) for two burgers, they were brought to our table in a very unfriendly manner. Burgers without any side dishes. The serving dishes were already dirty. We then asked for cutlery because the serving dishes had been brought dirty. We were then very unfriendly and told yes. We were seated in an open kitchen where everyone could hear it, and the guests were exchanging messages about us wanting cutlery. The food was okay, but by no means special. None of us were even full. We absolutely do not recommend it. Neither the service nor the food. Really unfriendly and with a super long wait, even though not all the seats were occupied. Price/performance = 0 It's a shame you can't give 0 stars.

With a group of about 30 people came to eat at the same time and everything went smoothly! The food was delicious, served quickly and the service was great. Friendly staff, well organized and absolutely recommended for both small and large groups. We will definitely come back!

Got 45 min instead of the 15/20 min they said. Hotwings were cold. My dish the philly cheesesteak fries were also half cold and the sauce was very stingy see photo. The only thing that was still a bit was the burger. And you pay €40 for this (rounded off). Service worthless no communication that it will take 2/3x as long or whatever. How they also dealt with other customers was worthless. They really need a hospitality course. This is my 1st and last time that I get food here.

Dear Fat Phills utje.. Ordered to pick up before 1900 in the meantime I am 27 minutes further while I saw the sign leave a review with 5 stars but unfortunately due to no communication with the customers and the long waiting times it becomes 1 star... yes too bad

Ate here yesterday. The burger was delicious! The food was also delivered quickly. Furthermore, very friendly staff that helps you quickly and well.

Ordering is horrible, they said ‘wrapping up-on its way’ for literally 2,5hrs. Couldn’t cancel the order anymore because of that. Finally got my food 3 hrs after ordering.

I ordered a burger, cheese sauce, sweet potato fries and I got a burger, sweet potato fries and instead of cheese sauce I got Phil Souce which tastes like Thousand Island dressing, apart from that the fries were great and generally ok.I was counting on this sauce but it wasn't there

It took a very long time before we had our food, three quarters of an hour. When we arrived we did get the menu but did not know at first that we had to order at the counter. We did not have that much time so we came for something quick, but that was not really possible. After half an hour we asked how far they were because otherwise we would be short of time. We then got a very unfriendly response. A colleague did try to solve it more friendly. The food itself was of good quality, but I think it is very expensive for what you get. Had sweet potato fries that did not come with sauce, which I expected for €6. My girlfriend and I did not think the pistachio shake was worth it either.

The wait was endless for fries, 20 minutes after the burgers. And I'm not even talking about the price for the quality.

It took over an hour to be served, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. We paid €50 for two burgers, fries, and drinks. It wasn’t bad, but not particularly good either. I wouldn’t recommend it.

What a drama, waiting time for fries with a burger 45 minutes, everything way too salty and for the price we expected more, another experience richer.. The staff wear gloves for hygiene, which is of course fine, but then they sit on their phone with the same glove on, texting, snapping, tiktoking etc. etc. In this way, that glove is of little use. Next time we'll just have fries around the corner again.

An endless wait, burnt bread, cold fries... It's wrong

So, I got mozzarella sticks, a cheeseburger, and a coke (trying not to break the bank, ya know?) which still managed to be nearly 20 euros. The salt which the mozzarella sticks lacked was found in the burger in random pockets of extra salt. Rather disconcerting, honestly. Still, peeps are nice and I suspect their wings would be a better choice price/quality wise.

We ordered 3 Shakes, 2 burgers, fries and a sandwich (there were 3 of us). There was a waiting time of 10 to 15 minutes between each milkshake. The burgers were not whole and the famous cheese sauce had been used minimally, sandwich was soaked in grease, making the outside sticky even when wet. The food was not as usual. We normally go to Arnhem and there everything tastes fresh, good in the sauce and you can see the ingredients that go with the burgers. The young men who work in Utrecht do not really radiate a pleasant working attitude. We sat there in amazement. The toilets were also dirty, no toilet paper and the hand dryer was covered in mold. Such a shame that they handle it this way. If you want a real Fat Phil's experience, we recommend the Arnhem location. This was such a waste of our money and time. We gave 2 stars because the milkshake tasted good and we think 1 star is very harsh.

Wait time is crazy but as they say good things take time... Staff was juggling a bunch of orders towards closing time (2030-2100) and they were still nice enough to let us eat inside and let us finish our food. Buffalo cheese fries are AMAZING, i wish i could have them more often. Tamale (?) burger was also a hit. Mac and cheese is delicious. if you're going to get a drink, get their homemade lemonade!! Would gladly wait again!!!

It took for ever! We asked to get our fries earlier since we are so hungry ,yet no one cared to give us some food. After we waited for almost 40 minutes we got very small burgers that didn’t taste anything different than a normal place. Also their air circulating is terrible and we all smelled fried food after we left. After all, paying was another headache. It took another 10 mins to wait in line to pay. Overral, this place is not recommended at all and employees are not prepared to handle services.

Went here for the first time 3 days ago and also the last time, it seemed as if the food had fallen into a jar of salt. It was disgusting, the fries had too many herbs on them, making them inedible (fries 5 euros) and the burger tasted like salt, salt and more salt. The only thing to eat were 6 chicken nuggets for I believe 7 or 8 euros? I advise everyone to stay far away from here. I was there with a total of 3 people and spent almost 90 euros for 1 piece of rubbish. All this because a friend of mine had watched a video of a certain Fais who was advertising and trying to poison everyone for a 250 euro promotion. Disgusting, find a job where you don't poison people! Of course you have to say that it's nice when you get paid! Damn, I regretted this

We entered the business and were treated poorly by the waitress. And the food was uncooked, so the meat was dry and so was the bread. Don't go there, it's better for your stomach and your wallet with their high prices

Bad experience at Fat Phillls ‏We ordered here and the food was a huge disappointment. The food arrived ice cold, as if it had been in transit for hours. The taste was also far from what we expected - definitely not tasty and totally unacceptable for the price we paid. This is not what you expect from a restaurant. Very disappointing and certainly not worth repeating!

Good food here. But it took way too long for us to get our food. The Nashville chicken was good and the Mack and cheese was lukewarm. The food might be 3/4 stars but the wait was very disappointing

Better than Mac anyway, but less than Five Guys. Quite pricey though.
