Went here for the first time with friends who were already familiar with the area. The food was delicious. The satay rice table was wonderful. The sisseling tenderloin is also highly recommended, and the tenderloin with caramelized walnuts was a rather small portion. The service was very friendly, and the place was very festive. We will definitely be back.

I had beef tenderloin with caramelized walnuts. The meat was delicious and super tender. It came with broccoli, which was also delicious. It just wasn't very generous. I got a relatively small bowl of noodles with it. It was delicious. However, I'm a big eater and would have liked more vegetables and/or side dishes.

I believe this my was first introduction to Indonesian food, and certainly my first for the Dutch take on it. We had the multi-course meet Rijsttafel fixed meal, and I can honestly say that everything was delicious. The service was also very friendly and attentive. Definitely and enjoyable meal and evening. Highly recommended!

On October 23rd, we went to Flamingo Paradise for dinner. We last went in 2019. The location and atmosphere are excellent. Compared to 2019, the prices have increased by at least 20%. The portions were quite small for a normal person in 2019, and they're even smaller now. The taste is reasonable. I ordered 'braised tofu with Chinese mushrooms'. It contained mostly tofu and a few strings of mushrooms, while before it contained very large mushrooms. My wife ordered 'battered chicken coated with sweet and sour sauce'. This dish was also disappointing. The sauce was too sour and more breadcrumbs than chicken. It was certainly not a culinary highlight, especially not for that price, unfortunately. I kept getting raindrops on my head because of a leak. I did mention this to the waiter, but he said there were leaks in several places and there was nothing he could do about it. If that's the case, then I don't think you should put guests under it. No apologies were offered either.

Definitely not your average Chinese restaurant, though I don't want to disparage the other Chinese restaurants. Flamingo Paradise, in my opinion, stands out. We ate a delicious Indonesian satay rice table here with an international group of 15 people. Quite extensive. Good service and a pleasant, customer-friendly atmosphere. It's all about value. More than worth it.

We've been coming to Flamingo Paradise for years and always have delicious food and excellent service. What disappointed us last time were the extremely small portions. The rice and nasi bowls, in particular, were very small and actually too little, even though we're not big eaters. This also makes the price quite high.

Delicious! We had the fried fish fillet with citrus sauce and nasi jawa pedis, and it was fantastic. The desserts were also delicious. Very friendly service. In short: we'll be back.

I've been eating here for over 40 years, the food, ambience and staff have always been exceptional, my favourite restaurant in the Hague by some margin and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone to try it.

An amazing dinner experience. It gas been a while since I liked everything in a restaurant from the food, the service & ambiance. The owner and his wife are delightful and the food is splendid. The location of the restaurant is great as it’s only 4 or 5 kilometres from the centre of The Hague yet it feels like it’s away from the hustle and bustle that busy centre. A truly must tray.

I ate here again last night. It's still a beautiful location with ample parking. I ordered the Indonesian satay rice table for two. The flavors are excellent. The portions could be a bit more generous, though. In short, a lovely atmosphere, excellent food, ample parking, good service, and reasonable prices.

Haven't been here for a very long time. Entourage within the same style. Dishes were somewhat disappointing in terms of taste, less than last time, Indonesian dishes a pity. Has there been a change or takeover??

Food is Chinese/Indian. Always very tasty and good quality. Atmosphere is very 80s but that's also what makes it fun. Large aquarium with bad art. Service is very good.

I had last been there more than 40 years ago. Suddenly I had to think of it and decided to go and see if it was still there. Surprisingly atmospherically decorated restaurant. The attached greenhouses are warmly decorated. Busy restaurant and I understand why. The sate rice table was delicious. You get 4 different types of sate with it. I love sate kambing and it was very tender. Each dish had its own unique taste, well seasoned. Lovely people in the service. I am not going to wait another 40 years.

The vegetables very well prepared Bravo to the Chef! Very correct and cordial service..........in order words a great discovery!

Flamingo Paradise opened in 1979 and is located in South Wassenaar next to the N440 road. The large restaurant offers Asian cuisine with a focus on Indonesian food. You can dine inside or go for take-away. Parking is free. Decoration and table decoration give the restaurant a pleasant ambiance. Service is efficient and friendly. We came on a Sunday and had a reservation. The place became very busy, a good sign. We went for Nasi Goring & Sateh Ajam, Nasi Koeming & Sateh Kambing, and Nasi Jawapedis & Sateh. The Nasi was served with Rendang, Babi Ketjap, Sambal Goreng, Sajoer Lodeh, Pisang Goreng, Gado Gado, Sambal Goreng Telor, Atjar Koening, Seroendeng & Krupuk. For drink we chose San Pelegrino. The food was tasty and well presented on table-heaters to keep the rice-table dishes hot. When you fancy nice Indonesian food: restaurant Flamingo Paradise is the place for you. Recommended.

Wow, this place is just great. Really super tasty food. I had the moehen goreng, and my mates had nasi goreng, and tofu.

Nice atmosphere. Sort of a 90's Chinese-Indian food bar for the wealthy. The staff is very nice, but unfortunately they let a lot of mistakes (and plates?) fall by the wayside. It took a really long time for food to arrive. In terms of food: there are a few direct hits. The grilled shrimp and satay assortment were quite phenomenal. The rest of the rice table was just okay, nothing special. Portions of rice and noodles were shockingly small. Would go back for the atmosphere. Very retro in a wonderfully casual way.

Delicious food, we came across it by chance yesterday when we were cycling for a while and spoke to the owner, she told us about the restaurant and the delicious Indonesian food, well, nothing too much said, it was delicious, highly recommended. And the staff is very nice and attentive, you can see that they enjoy working here. And thanks for the extra!

We had Sunday lunch. Food was delicious, better than I expected, as an Indonesian, I'm very picky with Indonesian food here. I was really surprised that the food was as good as original Indonesian food. Service was wonderful. Very friendly and quick service. I will definitely come back.

It is a good restaurant with good and fast service, it is a mixture of various Asian cuisines, the prices here are a lot higher than elsewhere, so take that into account if your budget allows it.

Not purely Indian, but an Asian cuisine, including Chinese influences. There is no shortage of an Indian rice table. You eat a bit while standing, without it feeling stiff. And the service is up for a joke, you make it fun together.

Delicious food, atmosphere was pleasant, the only downside is that there is no disabled toilet. Easy at the entrance for wheelchairs or walkers, but no toilet. Shame Everything else is fine 🤗👍

Well cared for, good and attentive service and great food

The food itself was not bad, but certainly not special and with five (5) shrimp in my Mihoen Singapore it was very poorly filled. Especially for the price of 33.50 euros. Insufficient for value for money.

Na een bezoek aan museum Voorlinden liepen we uit gemak naar dit restaurant: lekker dichtbij. Aanvankelijk lijkt het een gewoon Chinees restaurant, al zijn de prijzen aan de hoge kant. Als dan ook nog zeer kleine porties (in vergelijking met andere Chinese restaurants) worden opgediend, zakt het humeur wat. Tot je proeft... dit is topkwaliteit eten. Zeer verfijnd gekruid, elke hap een drietraps-smaakbommetje. De ossehaas met zwarte peper ontroerde zelfs, maar ook de 'simpele' bami goreng met rendang, groente en ei is een aanrader. De sambal is zelfgemaakt en de atjar draagt tonen van gember en kokos in zich. Ik kan me voorstellen dat de familie Van Oranje Nassi hier laat afhalen. Chapeau!

The 'rijsttafel' that was served up was of mediocre quality and clearly overcooked. The several dining halls had too many tables in them, creating a cramped environment and making the acoustics so unfavourable that one could actually only have a more or less serious conversation with the one sitting right next to you or right across from you. All in all, the interior of the place, as well as the food, was somewhat of a disappointment right after having entered the rather promising exterior that quickly changed into a dining shed.

Review of Flamingo Paradise Unfortunately, our experience at Flamingo Paradise was disappointing. Despite a reservation, we still had to wait half an hour before we were taken to our table. The crowds were overwhelming, which clearly had a negative impact on the service. When we were finally seated, it took another hour for our food to be served. Although the food itself was of decent quality, the timing of the dishes was very poor. One of us had finished his plate before anyone else had even received his food. Given the crowds and inefficient service, we don't recommend going to Flamingo Paradise on a Saturday evening around 7:00 PM. It appears that the restaurant is not properly prepared for a large influx of guests, resulting in long wait times and an inconsistent experience.

What a cozy restaurant and what delicious food.

We had the classic, sweet and sour chicken. That was good and we had duck which was very good. The service is very courteous and professional.

De(weinig) slechte ervaringen, die ik lees begrijp ik gewoon niet ! Kom hier zeer regelmatig zakelijk en privé. Het is altijd gewoon heel erg goed ! Een constante kwaliteit van heerlijk oosters eten in een heel aangenaam kader. Persoonlijke aandacht en een gevoel van thuiskomen. Ja als het heel druk is, moet je wellicht ietsjes langer wachten.... Maar het blijft een feestje om daar te eten.

I‘m from The Hague and I find that compared to many other restaurants in the city, the Indonesian food here is average at best. Portions are large, though, but so is the price. Furthermore, the acoustic is terrible in this glass pavilion, so you can’t follow the conversation with the person sitting opposite of you, which is a bit of an issue when out for dinner on a date, with friends or business partners. Staff seems disinterested or even arrogant; made us feel like intruders in stead of guests. We had to ask and wait for everything although it wasn’t a busy night. When leaving, we had to find the coat closet and take out our stuff, without anyone even asking or saying goodbye. One of the waiters was quite nice, though, to be fair. The location is far out and basically only reachable by car, unless one lives in Wassenaar. All in all not motivating to go back; there’s far better around, in my opinion. Two stars nevertheless as I reserve 1 star for places that have severe defects like hygiene issues.

Good atmosphere, very nice people in the service and the food is great

Delicious food, but price-quality out of proportion for a good rice table. The bill also turned out to be incorrect. 2 menus calculated that were not eaten. Shame! That's why we won't be going back.

Vond alles prima , heerlijk gegeten. Gezellig in de grote serre met groep van 22 pers, alles liep goed en smaakte uitstekend. Alleen 'n minpuntje was voorziening invaliden, bij ingang was er aan gedacht. Maar toilet is niet tot bijna niet te doen voor iemand in rolstoel of met rollator, kleine toilet en geen handgrepen of dergelijke.

A heavenly experience, all the ingredients were there for a great evening with the four of you!

Very attractive restaurant, excellent food!

The food was decent, not too large portions. Service (too) young. Atmosphere and ambiance appropriate for an Asian restaurant. It was bigger than you might initially think. The expected subtropical aquarium was also there. Price quality was disappointing. The dishes themselves were fine, but adapted to Western tastes. It's a shame that they naturally assumed that you wanted another dessert and were surprised that you didn't.

By chance we came here for lunch. We were curious about this restaurant with a slightly incorrect name and interesting appearance. Once inside, we read the reviews and they were absolutely good. We ordered the babi pangang with bacon and the rendang. Both turned out delicious!! Lots of herbs, super tender meat and a super sauce. It was very quiet in the conservatory, but the staff told us that they were full for the evening. He also tipped us about their top dishes (no. 46). We definitely want to come back again and will definitely try number 46 and the chicken curry.

I have been coming here since the 80s/90s, in my opinion one of the best culinary Chinese and Indonesian cuisines that can be found in the Netherlands. I say culinary! Peking duck or canton is very good here, Nice and crispy! The owner herl is very friendly and very high level of hospitality and mindset! Over the years I've probably been here more than 100 times, and counting. It was never bad here. The owner always has a chat no matter how busy it is. The whole of Wassenaar eats here too😅 So it's a lot of fun and that says enough. Cozy asn the bar before eating, in the conservatory afterwards in the summer or cozy inside at the aquarium. 🐠🐟

Na een last-minute- reservering werd voor ons snel een tafel ingericht. Zeer behulpzaam personeel, vriendelijk en zeer gastvrij. Bij vele Chinees-Indische restaurants is het Indische gedeelte vaak niet zoals het Indisch behoort te zijn. In Flamingo Paradise is het Indonesische eten echt zoals het hoort. De Rendang was overheerlijk. We zullen hier graag nog een keer terugkomen.

Unfortunately, our Christmas dinner turned out to be a major fiasco. Our group had to wait hours for the food and when the food was finally on the table, the portions were so small that we wondered whether we had ordered a children's menu.

We always eat there when we are in the Netherlands. Super tasty and a very friendly atmosphere. See you next time.

Was very busy which unfortunately made it very 'noisy'. The food was delicious and the service wonderful as always. Next time, after renovation, we would like to stay in the small conservatory again.

Great restaurant. Good menu very varied choices. Indonesian and fusion Chinese very tasty. Good service. The restaurant was pleasantly "full". But the service handled it well.

Was a very pleasant surprise! We came in with 2 children and a baby in a stroller and had a very nice seat in the front. Warm welcome, great service and delicious wine (there was a mistake with the wine, but it was quickly resolved without any problems). We had a delicious range of dishes… Dim Sum, satay, delicious vegetables, large shrimps and I think an absolute favorite; sizzling beef. But for me the turbot was the favorite! Insanely thick fillet, juicy and extremely tasty and cooked to perfection (we had steamed this time, dry-fried next time). The children had a nice scoop of ice cream and we had coffee and bacon biscuit (which was actually the least spectacular of all). Really enjoyed it immensely!
