Not bad of spot just not very comfy for my liking. I did enjoy the coffee and the pain au chocolat.

FUKU Cafe is one of the best coffee spots I’ve ever visited! The service is outstanding, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Their coffee is delicious with unique flavors. They offer options for every budget, from affordable 3-euro cups to premium ones up to 14 euros. A must-visit for any coffee lover!

I had this place on my list for about 3 years and finally got to visit when I went to Amsterdam. It was worth the 5k walk from my hotel for it!n When presented with a menu of coffees to choose from you know you're at a true artisan coffee house. I went for the Ethiopian which was a long fermented bean, boozy and funky flavours. If you love specialty coffee, this place is a must. If your idea of good coffee is Starbucks and Costa, then go here and elevate your taste and you'll understand what the real thing is!

there are no proper seats, no laptop policy is not written in the sitting area, the coffee taste is not as exaggerated three star can be given. I haven’t taste food

I’m giving this review because I’m disappointed by the experience. I asked specifically the barista an espresso that is balanced: nothing acetic and not too bitter. I followed his recommendation and got served a pure lemon juice. The acidity was so overpowering, it hid any other notes. That was only what you could taste. For some pricey 4€, in a popular area, for an espresso. Such experience for me is a text book example of the gentrification process happening in Sloterdijk.

I’m a coffee roaster who has sampled many of the best coffee spots in Tokyo, NYC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, London, Stockholm, Prague, and several other major cities. Friedhats is absolutely amongst my favorites. This cafe refuses to romanticize our favorite drink with elaborate tasting cards and wax poetics. Here, they let the coffee speak for itself, and their coffee definitely makes a statement! At the time of this review they have +15 coffees from around the world, featuring a good mix of processing methods to choose from. I cannot recommend highly enough!

Avoid going here if you would like to use the time to do some remote working while actively enjoying 1 or 2 cups of coffee. Staff members do not know how to speak to their customers when conveying the message a no laptop policy is applicable.

Really good customer service. I casually mentioned how I had a sub par coffee on my last visit and they were genuinely interested in knowing what went wrong and making it right.

As someone making my own coffee for many years (and way too deep in the rabbit hole), I can say that the impossible happened at fuku. Someone else made me coffee that I thought was delicious. There are maybe a dozen cafes in Europe that could do this and fuku is one of them.

I’ve given this place the benefit of the doubt a couple of times and have concluded that while the coffee is good, the service is poor and they are sooo slow. Seems to be commonplace to be ignored upon arrival. I understand they are busy but to be standing there for a good few mins without so much as a smile or acknowledgment is just not ok. This happened today when there were 3 people behind the counter. Not sure if it’s pretentiousness or just a lack of care but it just creates an unwelcoming atmosphere. On top, they ask for a tip for a takeaway coffee.. I’ve found the service neither fast nor friendly on any of my visits, it certainly does not warrant close to a tip!

I have been buying coffee beans here for years now. However the quality of the coffee beans compared to the price has gone significantly down. I went there a couple of days ago and spent 14 euro on 250g of coffee that even the person there was saying: yeah it's like a classic coffee. Tried it at home, and it had nothing special about it, probably it would be half the price in another place. They do have great coffee beans, but now they cost 40 euro for 250g! The same coffee beans used to be 20 euro a year ago.. Doubling the prices with an excuse of inflation is just unaceptable and just profitting from their notoriety. I will personally start looking in other places and hope to find more reasonable people. Also, as a side note, they provide the beans in heavy plastic bottles, which I am personally trying to bring back every time, however many people are not as there is no incentive from them to bring that bottle back. Why not just use paper..

Genuinely fantastic coffee and lovely staff. Very hip Bolo comes here for coffee. But as an unhip person like me, I also feel welcome 😉

Reeeal class act of a place if you want to experience passive aggressive, blatant racist service. Avoid this place if you happen to not be white or a person of color. Just an edit in response to the owner, I don't particularily feel safe or welcomed to come back to talk about my experience, but long story short the staff should be trained better to treat everyone the same and with respect. I don't know if that can even be taught anymore, or maybe better screening so you know your staff won't be racist. From the moment I stepped in to the store, it took a while for both people behind the bar to even acknowledge me even though the cafe was quiet - to top it off, they acknowledged the guy behind me who came after. I was willing to let that go, but hearing them also speculate about my race being "Chinese", which anyone with basic human decency should know it's not fair to assume what someone's race is, and fyi not every asian person is from China. Not to mention, clearing my drink without asking if I was done. And then lastly, it was my genuine mistake to not hear the lady working the first time she said the store was closed since I had earphones on. But for her to say how I was "deaf" to her coworker and for her to sarcastically say "bye" as I leave. Anyone can have a bad day, but really these 4 incidents back to back gave me the benefit of the doubt. It's such a shame when all I wanted was to enjoy a cup of coffee only for staff to treat me like a nuisance and to feel "othered".

flat white oat milk coffee was good, just a shame they don't have cocus milk. Coffee sometimes a bit lukewarm so ask for extra hot (if you like it)

By far the best cafe I've been to. To imagine this: The difference between this café and a 'normal' specialty coffee café is as big as the difference between a standard café and a specialty. Was worth every euro!

Mixed feelings, every time I came it’s a to different experience. I’ll not take in account having had the luck that lex made a coffee once. The difference is to big in coffee experience in between the people working. But I have also seen a difference in the price of their beans ordered online, and the bottles in the store. Though this might have maybe been a typo on the website or on the laminated price tags on the shelves. The biggest point is that coffee isn’t consistent by who brews. There are moments you are in a lot more luck when someone with a higher understanding of coffee here brews. It’s not about skill. Because their coffee roasted is good enough, that when just having grounded coffee and you toss water on top without a brewing method it will blow away most other coffees around town. But yea, at this point till maybe the owners come back behind the bar more this will stay rating like this and an experience of just brewing their coffee at home.

One of the tastiest coffee I’ve had. When I’m in town I find myself planning my day around their opening hours.

This is definitely a place worth visiting often. After traveling in Europe for a month, you can drink the best coffee, master-level production, high-quality roasting, and beans from different production areas. If they are not busy, you can also exchange coffee insights with the baristas. . It is indeed a coffee shop that has won world-class awards.

The coffee was incredible, the service was excellent, the place is lovely and the music was great. I bought some coffee to have at home and it was very well priced. They have some more expensive options to drink in which I would recommend exploring. The service I received on two occasions was excellent - very helpful and un-pretentious. I would recommend it to anyone without reservation.

Always a wait in the mornings and rightly so. Coming from Cape Town I find good coffee hard to find here but this is the best in Amsterdam for sure.

Super nice coffee spot with excellent coffee

I visited a few coffee shops while visiting Amsterdam, but this is the clear winner in terms of the range of exceptional coffees you can sample. Friendly and patient staff who found out your taste preferences and recommended coffee accordingly. From the main station, you can reach the place in 20 minutes by line 21, which stops at the cafe. The detour becomes an experience as if you were buying an original from the Dutch masters.

I was enjoying my coffee up until the point some woman came in with a tiny hyperactive dog that tried to lick my cup and then proceeded to sit on one of the small tables where cups and plates of food normally rest. Completely unsanitary and downright disgusting.

I had seen an episode on Day1 that JayJay and Qucee went to a coffee shop here in Bos en Lommer. They were very surprised how the coffee was, and they were right. I came all the way from The Hague for this coffee shop, it's delicious. This place is busy, but it's worth it if you have to wait for a good coffee. I tasted the Sudan Dulce, in a word 'delicious'. I really recommend for the coffee lovers to go there!

Decent coffee. Must be very hit and miss with staff since one of my worst ever experiences in a cafe. Asked about doing some work on my laptop and grabbing a drink every 30 mins to an hour, staff are like “No, this isn’t the place for laptops”. Sit down to find 8 other peeps all on their laptops, even overhear another customer ask the staff member the same thing and he was like “sure, it’s cool”. Maybe it’s because I’m a Brit/Expat or Brown? 🤷‍♂️

Really happy with the flat white and cortado that we had here. It was a fairly fruity roast and the baristas did a good job at making both taste great. It was very busy on a Saturday morning, but there were enough seats. Staff were also very friendly and the pastries were pretty good.

What an amazing coffee experience! Friedhats are our go to roasters when we visit Amsterdam or when we are having our v60 back at home. We tried cappuccino and latte and both of them were rly fragrant and tasty! Stuff was helpful and very pleasant! Must try if you haven't already!
