Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. During our visit, we overheard staff making dismissive comments about tourists, including remarks made while preparing food. This created an unwelcoming and uncomfortable atmosphere. Regardless of where customers come from, everyone deserves to be treated with basic respect.

Loaded fries were just okay. Might be three stars if they were hot, but they were cold. Not much more to say about this place, convenient location but nothing else exciting.

Was looking forward to a portion of fries after eating them in Brussels. This shops fries are quite disappointing, very big batch of fries is cooked already so when you place an order the guy just fries them again so they’re hot, but they are so overcooked, dehydrated and dry. I mean i love crispy fries but these are too dry. I would not go back to this place for sure. Disappointed

Such good fries! Perfect amount of crispiness. A great amount of sauce. I got mayo and parmesan. Sat in the bench opposite overlooking the canal to enjoy them. Would definitely recommend.

Not tasty potatoes, cheap sauce, terrible service

When you come to the Netherlands, it’s like you’ve never been there if you don’t eat French fries! Friet Point is a popular local shop specializing in authentic Dutch fries. The freshly fried fries are crispy and thick, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The original flavor alone is super mouth-watering. What's even better is that you can choose your own sauces, from classic mayonnaise, peanut butter to special curry sauce. I highly recommend trying the peanut butter + mayonnaise combination, a sinful combination of salty and sweet. Ordering on site is fast, and although there are many people, you don’t have to wait too long. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic when recommending flavors, making you feel at ease. The dining space is a take-out type and there are not many seats. It is recommended to go nearby and eat while walking. It has a European street atmosphere. The price is reasonable for a tourist area, and the portions are generous. A large fries is just right for two people. In summary, Friet Point is a must-visit snack stop when you come to the Netherlands and want to eat authentic Dutch fries.

The one with parmesan and truffle sauce is the best I ever had

Really the service should be 0 stars. I’ve never been treated so poorly as a costumer. I ordered the fries with Parmesan cheese and truffle sauce. When the man putting together my order reached for a large bottle of truffle mayo I told him I was very allergic and couldn’t have that on my fries. Unfortunately he didn’t hear me in time and put a generous amount of the truffle mayo on my fries. When I told him I was allergic he repeatedly told me that “that was what you ordered and that’s what you get” and asked why I would order something I was allergic to. I told him that the sign said “truffle sauce” and not “truffle mayo” and that’s why I ordered that. I tried to politely ask for him to remake my order but he was extremely confrontational and insisted that I had to have that order. I even offered to pay for another order but he was insistent on just arguing with me about the order. I told him that there must be another way to solve this other than arguing and instead he kept arguing saying things like “I just work here and I don’t own this place, there’s nothing I can do, this is your order, accusing me of being rude, etc. as the volume and hostility of his voice increased. Luckily a nice gentlemen behind us offered to take my order to diffuse the increasingly volatile situation. When that happened, the man who was making the orders threw a bunch of Parmesan on a new order of fries and slammed it on the counter as my order without a word. The fries were ok but the customer service was so bad it ruined it for me.

While exploring Amsterdam, my friend and I were excited to try this spot, having heard about the local fry scene. Unfortunately, the experience left a bitter taste before we even had a chance to enjoy the food. Upon ordering, I politely asked if I could get the BBQ chicken fries without the chicken, as I’m vegetarian. I made it clear I was happy to pay full price—I just didn’t want the meat. Rather than a simple acknowledgment, I was met with a scowl and attitude, as if my request were absurd. My friend then ordered the truffle fries, which were listed plainly on the menu. As the worker pulled out a large bottle labeled “truffle sauce” and began drenching her fries, she asked if it was mayo-based (she has a severe egg allergy). He confirmed, mid-squeeze, “Yes, truffle mayo!” and continued piling it on. When she explained her allergy, hoping for a simple remake, he became defensive and raised his voice, blaming her for not asking sooner. Even when it was clear we were trying to handle it calmly and were more than willing to pay for a replacement, he doubled down, saying, “That’s what you ordered—you’re getting it.” A kind stranger behind us offered to take the mayo-laden fries just to defuse the tension. The worker begrudgingly added a handful of parmesan, slammed the tray on the counter, and said, “There, you got what you wanted!” To be honest, the fries themselves were okay—maybe a 3/5. But it’s hard to enjoy anything when you're treated with such hostility for asking simple questions or having dietary restrictions. We've traveled quite a bit and have never encountered customer service this openly rude or aggressive. If you're looking for good fries and a decent human interaction, I’d recommend trying one of the many other fry spots in the city. This one? Unfortunately, not worth the salt.

Tasty fresh fries. Nice and warm. Price quality also quite reasonable, 5.50 for medium fries with mayo. Served with a nice cold coke, it all tasted great. Only 1 star for the gentleman who takes the order: he is quite grumpy, he couldn't crack a smile.

Unfortunately, the fries were NOT convincing in terms of taste, crispiness and quality.

Very rude staff and what you get is all b or c choice even. When I politely complained there about, among other things, the mayonnaise, which is an unappetizing chip sauce, I suddenly had to shut my big mouth and leave. Very rude and felt like he had so much to hide that you couldn't talk about anything and had to take everything from his side.

Compared to the times I visited here in previous years, I think that the taste and quality has gone down even though that the prices have gone up! The fries are not horrible, but depending on the popularity of the place and the prices, it should have been better.

These were good fries of a well size, but a little expensive. Generally everything is right, but they were not as good as those, that originate from Belgium.

As a fries lover, I really enjoyed it! It is also very cheap if you compare it with other chip shops in the center of Amsterdam. Portions are also nice and big :) Unlike places that only attract tourists, they keep the prices affordable for an average Amsterdammer. Recommended! 😊

Benelux is known for Pommes...Pomme Friet...Fries... This place has a great location, the potatoes were very fresh, and they were not too salty. But for me they were just not crispy enough. They were large square cuts and almost not crispy on the outside at all. This was disappointing. Lots of sauce selection and a nice atmosphere, but I guess I was hoping for something better.

The idea was to try Amsterdam's famous potatoes, but it wasn't a good experience. We ordered potatoes + sausage. The sausage was completely bland and tasteless. The potato is not much different from any potato in the world. The cheese sauce was artificial taste with flour. I really don't recommend it.

I think that Amsterdam is known for their fries and I think this one was the most well known so that’s why I came to this place. There was a line up (~5 mins) but it was well organized by a staff member. I got the fries with sauces and onions, and tbh I wanted fries and I ate fries. Nothing special, it was good so I’m happy. I will say the amount of (mayo) sauce added on hurt me inside because of the calories, but that’s just how it traditionally is, so can’t be mad about that. It was a quick wait for my food. The price and portion was satisfactory. It was normal to Canadian prices that I experience back at home. Overall happy I visited this place for the memories.

Leckere Pommes aber leider wenig Mayo/Ketchup und wenige Zwiebeln. Da die Pommes in einer Tüte serviert werden hat man unten nur noch Pommes pur. Trotzdem schönes Ambiente in den Gassen von Amsterdam!

Le migliori patate olandesi ad Amsterdam, oltreché senza glutine! I ragazzi sono cordiali e simpatici. Cono disponibile in tre versioni (Small, Medium e Large)… Se vi trovate a passare da Amsterdam ve le consiglio, tra l’altro (a differenza di altri store) è aperto anche dopo le 22, e per chi è stato ad Amsterdam sa che la maggior parte dei ristoranti o luoghi di ristoro chiude abbastanza presto rispetto agli orari italiani… CONSIGLIATISSIMO!!!

Es war natürlich viel zu tun dennoch lieber 3 Minuten warten und anständiges essen als sowas.. wir sind extra eine Stunde gereist und her zu kommen.. sehr entäuscht. Meine alte Bewertung vor 3 Jahren : Sooooo lecker haben 1837373 gefühlte stunden einen anständigen und nicht überteuerten friet store gesucht und durch zufall auf den kleinen store gelandent . We are 3 times today fries at 3 places and this was by far the worst. I think a tourist trap. Cold and old fries so sad. I think the fact it’s by a famous coffee shop traps you in

Haben eine Pommes OHNE Soße bestellt (beide nochmal deutlich gesagt) und dann eine Pommes mit Senf (?!) bekommen die wir anscheinend wollten. Als wir reklamiert haben: „Pech“. Und der Hotdog war mega überteuert und schlechter als an allen Hotdog Wägen die überall rumstehen, wo man nicht nur trockenes Brötchen und ne Wurst drin bekommt ohne Beilagen. Echt enttäuschend.

Ich habe beim Friet Point einen Hot Dog bestellt. Was ich erhalten habe war eine Zusammensetzung aus zwei Standardprodukten, die ich so in der Metro erwartet hätte. Es schmeckte ganz o. k., war mit vier Euro aber dann doch ziemlich teuer. Immerhin war es warm und da war Ketchup drauf.
