Frietsteeg in Stadionbuurt

One of the best frietstands in the city. A must if you are in Amsterdam. I love the fries with spicy mayo and cheddar. Also highly recommend trying the croquettes. They come from Holtkamp, the famous Amsterdam patisserie, and they are excellent.

Unbelievable. Super expensive for what you get. The staff there are completely uninterested and grumpy. I thought I was getting a delicious portion of fries, but I got stale, refried fries, and incredibly little for the price. The portion was half empty. And to top it all off, I had to order a drink because the fries were so salty I needed one. I've never experienced this before. I really like salt on my fries, but this is outrageous. In short, I'll never go back here again. Sorry, but it's super expensive and not even tasty. Instagram is a real scam.

The fries were deliciously crispy, but not too hard! Usually, fries get unpleasant when it gets colder, but not these! Friendly people and good prices! If you're on your way to Amsterdam Zuid, this is a great excuse to stop for a break!

I had some truly delicious fries! A great chip shop with a passion for his business. And right on Stadionkade (corner of Parnassusweg), across from De Brug. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended!

Been here many times, it's honestly the best fries you can have in Amsterdam. They always make a fresh batch, and thier truffle mayo sause is really good. The owners are friendly as well.

Fresh fries and good price to start. I happened to pass by during work. It was around 12:00 and the man was standing alone. I had to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes for a portion of fries. Took WAY TOO LONG! Moreover, they charge EUR. 0.85 for mayonnaise, okay, but then I want a decent mop of mayo and not a mop. I got a lot of small pieces of brown hard fries, also not good! And I wanted to move on quickly and didn't think of a fork... He could have just stuck it in. Not good enough!

Absolutely stellar place. Recommend trying the large fries with truffle sauce and Parmesan. The sauce and Parmesan the guys give is GENEROUS and delicious!!! When the guy was grating fresh Parmesan onto my fries, I thought he would just grate a couple of times but he just kept going and going lol. Left with a very satisfied stomach 😋

My favourite fries in Amsterdam. They know their stuff.

Today we had delicious fries with truffle mayo and grated Parmesan cheese. This combination already made my mouth water. And whether it was tasty: Delicious, crispy fries. Really delicious! And despite the typical Dutch weather, it was nice to relax on the terrace. And a big compliment to Floris, who helped us. Sympathetic guy! In short: highly recommended!

They can really only make Frikandel special in Brabant. Ask the gentlemen if they would like to cut the frikandel open in advance so that it becomes nice and crispy. If you get a strange look, they say 'sure, that's what we always do', and you get a limp, short-fried sausage, which is then cut open raggedly, without sauce and onions in between. Snack barbarians! I come there every once in a while and I always ask if they want to prepare the frikandel this way because it is simply the tastiest. It seems like they don't want to please you on purpose. As if they know better at the Frietsteeg. But isn't it all about what the customer likes? After this we had a chicken karaage at home and there was an incredibly nasty piece of it (1 out of 5). I hope it doesn't make me sick.

Top price-performance ratio! The fries were very tasty, crispy and well salted. It was also nice that we got the sauces and onions in small bowls. The service staff were very friendly.

Unfortunately, this business has deteriorated significantly compared to the past. The staff stands right in front of the entrance smoking and addresses each other in the presence of customers with terms such as "hey homo". The quality of the food also leaves much to be desired. The staff seemed more concerned with other things than with the customers and the food. With our takeaway order, the drinks were forgotten, which was only corrected after a reminder. In the car, we then discovered that part of the order was still missing. When I went back within a few minutes to report this, because my child also wanted to eat, I was immediately told - instead of an "apology for the inconvenience" -: "100% sure you already got everything." It is striking that they stated this so firmly, since they had also forgotten the drinks just before. The result: paid, but not received the entire order. Quite surprised about the way things went, we left for the Burger Bar on the Stadionweg (recommended!), where the staff is friendly and the fries are fantastic. Another tip for those who don't feel like having the same experience in a smoke-filled room with the antisocial behaviour of the staff at the Frietsteeg: try the Frietboutique on the Johannes Verhulststraat.

Yesterday I got 4 croquettes -2 vegetables and 2 shrimps-. Asked 3 times if there was mustard, yes, in the bag. Came home, NO mustard, bummed...😒

Got some fries war here because of the rave reviews Well I thought it was really worth it, it wasn't exactly tasty. You can smell the old oil from across the street. Got a pathetic portion with small piece of sliced ​​potato can't call it fries. Peanut sauce isn't exactly tasty. Not value for money if you ask me I find it incomprehensible that there are people who think this is the best fries in Amsterdam.

This business is run by young guys, really fantastic guys, they are great with their customers, these guys deserve kudos. What disappointed me is that there was little in the tip jar, something needs to be done about it.

I have been told they have the best fries in town and I can confirm that after my first try. It’s fast food, you can eat around the river or take away home. We got their family pack and it is insanely huge but we have 8 people :) so perfect option for us. You need to ask for their hidden menu of the sauce, basically it’s peanut butter with mayo and onion - I know it sounds crazy but very very tasty!

By far the best fries I had in Amsterdam!! The owners were super nice and kind!! The fries were exceptional!! Try spicy mayonnaise (great suggestion by the owner) and ketchup with Onions (Onions are a must)!! Food was served very fast as well!! Glad I found this place but sad I found it after living 4 years in Netherlands :)

Recent years changed ownership, unfortunately high quality of previous owner dropped to very poor quality. Have tried it multiple times but it seems that they only serve left-over fries (small ones/brown/black). Very sad to see this

Ik heb uitgerekend Dat ik al sinds 1970 op deze locatie. De patat is alleen maar beter geworden! Het wordt gesneden waar je bij staat. toen ik de patat Bakker spontaan compliment maakte, vertelde hij dat niet iedereen er zo over denkt. Daarom laat ik hier graag mijn waardering weten. Ik ben erg blij dat zo dichtbij mijn huis Zulke goede patat is te krijgen in zo een leuke tent.

De Frietsteeg had the best fries in Amsterdam. From fresh potatoes, cut and pre-fried on site. Nice and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. But since there is a new owner, the fries are only mediocre. Less flavor, skin still on and fried soggy and tough. Such a pity. I keep hoping that this owner will switch back to the fries of the predecessor.

We went there to try the fries and I have to say they're really good. However, the personnel took so long to fry the fries and they looked unorganized and they were not particularly polite. Won't come back. The ones in the city center are also good in taste and they provide a better service.

This was a good place with super good fries, but has deteriorated considerably since it was taken over. Staff who fry the fries way too greasy, not very inspired, and ridiculously small portions of sauces. If I could describe the Frietsteeg in one word, I would call it great! This place has been beautifully renovated! Staff is also very nice. I like that this is one of the few places in the city where the fries are made on the spot! Hats off!!

Very delicious selfmade fries within walking distance from the hotels at Amsterdam Zuid. They also offer a great selection of tasty sauces along with the typical dutch snacks as Frikandel, Kaassoufle and stuff. Prices are reasonable. The staff was super friendly even though we stopped by quite late.

The fries are made from fresh potatoes and frozen twice. That's how it has to be. Tasty and a very nice owner!

If they could, they would get 6 stars, but the burner mayonnaise would have to come back!

They were pretty busy at night to the point where some people didn't want to wait in line and left. My patience paid off when told them I'm cool with waiting. Suffice to say, they were thankful and ended up cooking my order first. Tasty fries and sauces!
