Upon entering, it immediately felt good; our coats were taken. We came for lunch and had the lunch plate, a feast for the taste buds, amazing flavors, truly rarely have we eaten so incredibly well. Both of us. An extensive menu too. Our coats were taken immediately. Nice and friendly staff!! Highly recommended. Right in the middle of Kanaalstraat. We will definitely be back!!

We had a delicious meal here yesterday for my birthday! Always great service and super friendly. Nice music playing, but you can still chat and understand each other! They even sang for me (which I really appreciated despite my instinctive reaction 🤣). The food was delicious! Definitely recommended!

On the recommendation of ChatGPT ("Where in Lisse can you eat well and affordably?"), we ended up at Funky Moose. What a recommendation this is! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful when you mention an allergy. We received an amuse-bouche on the house: pani puri, made especially for me without tomatoes. It was a unique and tasty little dish. For the main course, we both chose the steak with grilled vegetables, a regular portion and a children's portion. This dish tasted exquisite as well. We shared a dessert: a sticky toffee with ice cream and whipped cream—deeeeeery! The cappuccinos afterwards were served piping hot (as they should be). Several times we were kindly asked if everything was still to our liking and if we needed anything else. The friendly staff took their time, even though the place was packed, and were never shy about having a chat. The generous tip we gave was well and truly deserved!

I went out to eat here the day before yesterday with a large group. I am a vegan, and one of my group members has an extremely severe peanut allergy. The only vegan option on the menu was satay, but for obvious reasons, that was just really dangerous to order. I discussed this with her, and it was simply not possible. The waiter first started complaining about how difficult veganism was to a friend of mine who was trying to explain to him how he could still put together a meal. Next, he was rude to me, and I received a plate of food that was literally 90% lettuce. No olive oil or dressing, a few dry veggie chicken pieces, and two slices of tomato and cucumber. I paid full price for it, of course. I’ve had my share of mediocre food in restaurants in the 15 years I’ve been a vegan, and I really usually don’t make a big deal out of it, but if in 2026 your idea of ​​a vegan meal is a plate of dry lettuce, then you don’t know anything about cooking. Especially not if you start acting rudely on top of that. 0/0 do not recommend.

Last Sunday, I celebrated my birthday at the Funky Moose with about 30-35 people. Duco, Bas, and the team made sure we wanted for nothing. The terrace was beautifully decorated, the snacks were original and delicious! Nothing was too much trouble, and they even took photos as a service. DJ Jeffrey, whom they arranged, also created a fantastic atmosphere. Duco… keep up the good work and thanks again for everything!!

My friends and I visited for lunch, and the restaurant was busy. A server greeted us and went inside to check for availability. He returned and told us there were no tables available and that the wait would be a few hours, but that we were welcome to wait. During this interaction, he mentioned the outdoor sofa area. We later asked if we could sit there and order lunch, and after checking again, he confirmed that we could. We were happy to take the spot and began looking at the menus, which were already on the table. When the server returned, he took our drink orders. As we started ordering food, he then told us he needed to check with the kitchen to see if they could accommodate us. This was confusing, as we had already been told we could sit and order. Shortly after, another staff member brought our drinks, but we were still waiting for confirmation about the food. After about 10 minutes, the server returned and told us that the kitchen would prefer if we waited another hour before ordering, as they were too busy. At that point, we felt uncomfortable and decided to leave. We asked to pay for our drinks (which, in my opinion, should only have been served once it was confirmed we could order food), paid, and left. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unclear. The server had to repeatedly go inside to check basic questions, which made the situation confusing and time-consuming. If the restaurant cannot accommodate food orders, it would be better to communicate that clearly from the beginning rather than seating guests and creating different expectations. I hope this feedback helps improve communication and coordination in the future.

Perfect stop for a lunch with Amazon fresh mais like bons, burger, salads. Try the mix dish for 2 persons to have a choice of different flavors (croquettes, yakitori, steamed buns with fried chicken and red onions, soupe of the day like red curry ). For dessert, let s try the hommage cookie. Enjoy

My mum and I had such a lovely, memorable evening here to end our mini break. The food was absolutely delicious, and much needed after walking round Keukenhof gardens all day. I highly recommend the chocolate mousse with Italian meringue for those with a sweet tooth. The tulip spritzer was the best drink I've had in a long time, so refreshing with the cutest tulip stirrers. You can buy the spritzer at Schipol airport in case anyone was wondering! The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was cosy. Thank you to all at the Funky Moose for giving us a wonderful end to our holiday.

That was quite an experience. First time at Funky Moose. Received an old-fashioned warm welcome and made to feel welcome at the entrance with a personal reservation card on the table, plus plenty of attention for the guest. We went for the special satay this time, and it was a work of art and super flavorful. Knowledge of the various wines was up to par and was explained in a calm manner. The menu is well put together and you can really indulge in the selection. The only minor point remains the acoustics, which felt quite intense when the place was full. Until next time, M&M

We had a wonderful meal at Funky Moos. The atmosphere is cozy, and the food is delicious. Unfortunately, our visit had an unexpected twist: a latte macchiato spilled on my companion. Of course, that can happen—accidents happen easily, and coffee is served in a large glass. Unfortunately, it stayed that way. No cup of coffee or anything similar was offered, and we had to be quite proactive in finding a solution ourselves. That was a shame, because hot coffee and clothing simply don't mix well. A small gesture or a little help would have made a big difference. In short: the food and atmosphere are absolutely top-notch, but when something goes wrong, we think the service could be a little more attentive. Then the perfect picture would be complete!

Wednesday, January 14, 2026. We went for pancakes, but it turned out we were at the adjacent restaurant Funky Moose. What a warm welcome, what friendly service. And of course, we had a delicious lunch, even though it wasn't pancakes. Kudos to the lady in question for her warm welcome and service, and of course to the kitchen.

A mixed experience. It's a friendly place with a pleasant vibe and friendly staff. Some of the food was really good, such as the slow cooked short rib, while other food was strongly over-seasoned, such as the starter of a delicate Japanese tempura basket filled with an overwhelmingly strong "Kerrie" sauce. The BBQ maize soup tasted like a whole plate of saté sauce, and the kids menu chicken was so spicy that our five-year old could not eat any of it. Why? This is why I gave the food only two stars.

With a bit more attention to detail, Funky Moose could become a truly great dining spot.
