We've been regulars all year! Great atmosphere, a keen eye for conviviality, and the opportunity to dine together. The food and drinks are delicious! We hope to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and delicious food again in 2026!

The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. We will definitely be back! Positive reviews. The ceiling lights were very bright; they could be dimmed a bit to create more ambiance. ;-) I highly recommend going for a meal!

But staff serving lunch while guests have already been waiting an hour and a half for their lunch? Offering different service to different tables when presenting the menu? That's just not right...

The restaurant is very nice and well kept, staff is welcoming and super nice. Food is great and you won't go home hungry, my fries were super crispy and the hamburger was super juicy. I had also the Gingerbread Moose as a cocktail and it was like having an alcoholic cookie! Super recommended

A mixed experience. It's a friendly place with a pleasant vibe and friendly staff. Some of the food was really good, such as the slow cooked short rib, while other food was strongly over-seasoned, such as the starter of a delicate Japanese tempura basket filled with an overwhelmingly strong "Kerrie" sauce. The BBQ maize soup tasted like a whole plate of saté sauce, and the kids menu chicken was so spicy that our five-year old could not eat any of it. Why? This is why I gave the food only two stars.

This is my regular spot in Lisse. It has a lovely terrace, and the avocado burger with sweet potato fries is an absolute must!

I had a great time dining here with my girlfriend. I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money – we were served two starters with plating worthy of fine dining, and the flavors fully lived up to expectations. The service, provided by the blond waiter on August 13th between 8 and 10 p.m., was also excellent – very friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this place.

What a discovery! This café has a hugely varied and original menu – so many delicious options I almost didn't know what to choose! The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is incredibly cozy and warm. The prices are also very reasonable. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

A mixed experience with potential. We had a lovely family dinner at Funky Moose in Lisse. The restaurant is tastefully and modernly decorated, creating a stylish and welcoming atmosphere we truly enjoyed. The food was decent, though slightly overpriced. The beef burger was unfortunately undercooked, and the cocktail glass had a strange odor. Most disappointing was finding a few small hairs in the dessert. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I understand that not everything always goes perfectly—but details matter, and hygiene is essential. Service was friendly and well-intentioned, though not very proactive. When we brought up the issue with the dessert, the staff didn’t have an immediate solution. However, to their credit, they eventually removed the dessert from the bill, which we appreciated. Despite the flaws, we left a small tip in recognition of their effort and attitude. With a bit more attention to detail, Funky Moose could become a truly great dining spot.

Friendly (and young) staff. We ordered two vegetarian main courses and they were both very good. Nice beer of the month with it, all good.

I was invited to a retirement party of an old colleague. The restaurant was rented for this. The food and service were top notch.

Super delicious food! A gem just next to the square. Staff was nice and understand what service means. An owner with an eye for detail (chairs out of sight if not needed etc.). A nice place to stay 🙂 We had a share dinner as a starter and main so we could taste a lot ^^

Had a lovely meal on the terrace in the shade. Water for the dog. Cosy atmosphere. We had not reserved a table (full due to Mother's Day) but were allowed to have lunch on the pallet benches. That is a bit of a makeshift with a low table in front of you but we were also politely reminded of that. However, for us a great place, out of the sun and out of the crowd. Sandwiches and Soof lemonades were delicious!

After a wonderful day at Keukenhof, we went here for a bite to eat. Very nice service! Very friendly service, the food is certainly good. Little him and I had the surf and turf, which also included delicious shrimp, both tasty dishes and nicely presented. Definitely recommended, and will definitely come back here again.

I ordered the Surf and Turf, which consisted of a piece of steak, 3 shrimps and a portion of fries for €27. I asked for a steak medium rare, but when the steak was served it was completely tough and well done. So I politely pointed this out to the waitress who gave me a strange look. Eventually a new piece of steak would be prepared, only when I got it back it was just completely raw. Very unfortunate because I was just friendly and everyone makes mistakes. But I'm not going to pay €27 for raw steak. In addition, another guest of ours had ordered the Jerk chicken, but it was still pink on the inside. Very disappointing.

Paprika soup starter was tasty and bapao chicken was very tasty. Surf and turf the meat was tough!! Too bad and no response from the kitchen.

We were passing through Lisse after visiting the flower park at Keukenhof. The welcome was very friendly and the dishes were super tasty. Very friendly servers. I highly recommend.

We went to this restaurant as a whole family led my positive google maps score which was so wrong and opposite to the actual state of this place. First of all we were told that we can’t sit inside, but we might swap tables later if possibility to do so arises (reservations don’t appear). After 1,5h visit, there were only 2 tables occupied inside and we weren’t invited to swap tables. We had 11 months baby with us, the weather was awful - it was very much cold. One of the tables next to us (also outside) received blankets, but I guess not every customer deserves such treatment. We had to wait 1,5 h for 3 burgers (!) and also we’ve been served wrong soup. Burgers were OK, not great. The prices on these, especially for chicken ones, are way too high. Burgers were small. 1 and a half hour wait is not worth it.

We had burger and tulip spritz and both were so tasty, highly recommended!

Incredible food, outstanding service and fantastic value for money, can't recommend enough

So...simply, this was an exceptional night out. First of all, I screwed up my reservation during the busiest day of the year - literally - in Lisse. We were in town for the Tulip Parade and I booked for the 19th by accident. "Duco" (apologies for any misspelling), the owner was at the door, pointed out our mistake and seated us at the bar with zero issue... The service was 100% spot on and relaxed, the food hot, the drinks cold and everything was exceptionally tasty. the conversation about the town and the festival with Duco's husband (who was tending bar) was fun and informative. We had the Sticky Tempeh Bao Buns, Chioggia beet "Carpacio," the Satay Chicken, an Avocado Burger and some apple pie... Everything we well prepared, well plated, and created with an eye towards well stated, complimentary flavors. 5 stars on all dishes except the apple pie which gets 3.75 stars. (This is mainly because I am an "American" style apple pie fan and the Dutch versions tend to be more tart like with more pastry and a lesser level of fruit than I prefer... It was flavorful, and like everything else well executed I just wanted about 2-3x more apples, in the pie... Regardless, the folks at Funky Moose have the place in order, it is run well, the food is excellent and I 100% recommend the Funky Moose if you are ever in Lisse!

Very nice atmosphere, especially when visiting this region of the Netherlands. On their menu it is said that they cook some of their dishes on this Spanish Mibrasa charcoal oven. In my opinion one can taste this, Funky Moose seems to have gotten it just right!

Ordered a snack board for €20 Too expensive for what was on it. 1 jar of olives. 2 cheese sticks, 2 bitterballs, 2 scampi, some dried ham, 2 chicken nuggets and some dried fish sticks. It's even laughable to see such a large plank with so little on it. It is better to order separate snacks. You get a lot more for less money. Shame. Because the place is nice to sit there. We also said it but received no response.

You know the food is good when you’re still talking about the food the next day 😉 we all thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. It was so delicious. It was especially nice because we don’t go for food too often, and when we do, it’s always good when you walk away happy! We didn’t take photos… I guess we couldn’t wait to tuck in!

We had a very pleasant and delicious evening at Funky Moose. We had reserved our table online in advance. If you're arriving by car, you should consider parking in advance. We were very impressed with the service, the ambiance, and the food. We truly had a perfect evening all around. Don't miss the fresh, homemade bread they offer as a starter. ☺️ We didn't have to wait too long for our food, but we were there during the week, and Funky Moose wasn't fully booked that evening. Highly recommended!

It was a lovely lunch, I came with 5 people, and we ordered tempura garnalen, which I recommend to order as well as chicken bites, it was well fried and chilli sause was perfect combination. We ordered chicken salad which was delicious as well, the seasoning was so well fit for a salad, as for a main dishes. Good place to go and eat. Recommend to go there. As for a thing to improve, the waiting time for dishes could’ve been faster, since it wasn’t that busy, but overall, if you would be in Lisse, it’s a nice restaurant to go and have a dinner or lunch.

We popped in here for some food whilst cycling from Amsterdam to Leiden. We made a great choice, the burgers were delicious, we ordered the crispy chicken and the steak burger both came with incredibly delicious relish and the service was friendly and thoughtful. We’d go again.

This rainy Saturday I am in Lisse. I haven't been to the center for a while, I saw a lot of new shops. The trattoria was full, so on the way to the square we passed the Funky Moose. Looked nice, so in here. I really like the atmosphere; lots of wood with many different colorful chairs, a beautiful bar with a large pink neon moose behind it. The atmosphere of an old building. Like it immediately! Various beers on tap, so of course you can't go wrong with me. And above all; very clean. The lunch menu also looks good, with various burgers and special sandwiches, but also just croquettes or a club sandwich. The service was also very quick and I was soon sipping a Leffe Blond. I went for the Cajun chicken sandwich. My party had resp. a salmon sandwich and a chicken burger. Very tasty and quite large portions. No downsides then? Meh, a little less aioli mayo would have been nice. And there was an impenetrable piece of salmon... it can happen... In short, a pleasant and delicious meal. I'll come back again!

Funky Moose in the heart of Lisse. Haven't eaten yet but ended up here via Lisse's autumn bock beer walk. Nice informal atmosphere with friendly and enthusiastic staff. During this autumn bock beer walk we drink a very special beer here, which was received mixed in the group. But despite that, funky Moose is a cozy, hip place with relaxed staff. Keep it up!

Great looking old building converted to restaurant. Outside terrrace very cosy. Cappuccino with oat milk. 👍🏻 tasty apple pie and soft cheese cake. My son had a carpaccio toasti. Was a little bit burned on the sides. We cut off the pieces and he ate it. Tasted good. The owner only made us pay for half the tosti so a nice gesture. All in all a good experience and very friendly staff.

It took them more than an hour to make a salad and a simple sandwich. The salad which is listed in the menu as Caesar has nothing in common with the real one. One of the worst experiences in the Netherlands.

Highly recommended in all areas, Funky Moose! To start with, of course, delicious food. It is also very affordable for this quality. And incredibly friendly service. My husband had written when making the reservation that we were coming to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they had decorated the table with hearts, very thoughtful.

Very tasty food! The tiramisu was especially delicious, the way it was served was also great; it was in a wine glass with half a white chocolate ball at the top, hot coffee was poured into it so that the chocolate melted and ran into the tiramisu together with the coffee, very original!
