Incredibly sad that this restaurant can no longer continue at its chosen location due to an untenable situation (through no fault of their own). I wish the selling owner and staff every success in their future.

In our opinion, the quality of the food did not match the other reviews. The food was 'simple' and not very tasty. Price/quality ratio not appropriate in our opinion.

What a special experience it was again. Strawberry gazpacho and creme brulee were phenomenal. Respect for you for being able to make all this so tasty. Also respect for the positive owner who, despite so much vandalism next door, welcomes people here with such warmth. This is really a very special place in Rotterdam. You must have seen it. Even if you are not vegan.

It is a complete vegan restaurant. Very good concept and atmosphere inside and outside the train wagon. The garden is very green and cozy. The train gives a nice dining experience. I really like the zero waste concept as well. They have a fixed menu including starter, main dish and dessert. The drinks are not included. The food is tasty; however, it is quite expensive for the portions. At the end of the dinner, we had to have some extra food later somewhere else to feel full. Definitely not something you want after visiting a restaurant. I think the creativity is also a bit missing. We end up eating carrots and potatoes as main dish, and mushrooms as starters. I find it a bit simple for this type of a place. In addition, there is also not a very pleasant atmosphere at the back of the restaurant (I guess there is not very much of a safe area, some people gathering and smoking with loud music). This is not something on the restaurant but it loses the feeling of a good evening. I would highly recommend the place to have a bit larger portions, or lower prices to have it balanced. Since It is a fixed menu, there could be also some innovative dishes, just because you can’t choose what you get for that evening. I am giving 4 star only to promote this kind of vegan places, entrepreneurs and appreciating the train vibe and originality. Otherwise, the food and the portions do not deserve it.

Last weekend the two of us visited this special location with a great concept. We liked one dish (the cardamom ice cream) and the other was slightly less tasty (the silk tofu). You may like the next menu a little better! For the main course we each got two large slices of roasted beets. Because they were such large slices of beetroot, we wondered what happens to the sides. At the beginning, the service said that they have a fixed menu to prevent food waste and the site reports that food waste is almost 0%. Unfortunately, the waitress said they don't use the sides of the beet. For a restaurant with this concept, I expected a little more creativity to use all the edible parts of a vegetable! Food for thought ;)

Delicious vegan food in a train.

Great food in a very nice atmosphere. Meat eaters don't have to worry about missing their piece of meat, because the vegetable dishes are so delicious that you don't think about meat or fish. We will definitely come back!

Down-to-earth vegan cuisine. The atmosphere in the old train compartment is funny.

Great location, great food. And everything vegan. Really nice service. Especially the question of whether we want the next course immediately or in 10 minutes. And within walking distance of the city. Definitely coming back.

Gare Du Nord zit niet in de meest gezellige wijk van Rotterdam. Sterker nog: wij hebben ons onveilig gevoeld tijdens ons etentje. Het oude wagonnetje is hartstikke leuk en sfeervol ingericht. Er is echter maar één kleine in- en uitgang en op de avond dat wij kwamen, blokkeerde een jongen de in- en uitgang en begon keihard het restaurant in te schreeuwen. Vanuit buiten werd alles door zijn vriendjes gefilmd. Tien minuten later werd er een vlinderbom richting het wagonnetje gegooid. We zijn ons van beide incidenten kapot geschrokken. Het eten maakte het ons wat dat betreft ook niet heel veel beter. Het eten was prima, maar de porties zijn vreselijk klein en het eten wordt niet warm genoeg geserveerd. Helaas zullen we niet nog eens bij Gare Du Nord komen.

Heel aardig personeel de jongen met de lange haren en de Italiaanse kok heb ik echt een leuk gesprek gehad😍 kom hier nog veel vaker!! En een mooie kijk in de keuken!

The dining experience is both fun and elegant, with beautifully plated dishes served in a converted East German train car. The 4-course vegan menu changes every couple of weeks. I particularly enjoyed the starter of chestnut and chickpea soup. Reasonably priced for the quality of food and service.

Heel unieke leuke locatie waar je heel erg goed plantaardig kunt eten. Superleuk om in een trein te dineren 😄 Nog leuker dat ze zo bezig zijn als restaurant om duurzaam te koken en het zero-waste principe zoveel mogelijk hanteren. Ik ben groot fan!

Erg mooie locatie in de stad,tuin is héérlijk maar het eten nog veel meer! Echte pure gerechten en smakelijk bereidt!

Sfeervolle locatie. Er wordt gewerkt met een vast vegan menu. De wortel pompoensoep was de beste ooit gegegeten.

Nice vegan food in a really cool repurposed trainwagon from the 80’s. The vibe is really nice, the concept is cool and the staff is quite friendly! We had the movie/tv themed set menu which was a pretty fun idea - the experience and the ambience is really the selling point here!

Perfecte bediening en erg leuke sfeer. De smaken waren helaas een beetje blend, weinig verrassend. Geen smaak explosie maar de sfeer maakt veel goed.

Love the sustainable concept - this restaurant is zero waste and vegan with a fixed menu. We went when they had Mexico inspired dishes, and from start to finish, it was excellent. They were better than a "standard" restaurant in terms of dishes, presentation and concepts which made it feel a little fancy. At the end of the meal we were quite full, so I think they're better than "high-end" restaurants in this aspect! Staff is very friendly and explained the dishes well. They work in shifts (presumably to control the number of food to be prepared), so it is very calm and not crowded. Interiors are cosy and quite spacious for a train compartment! The menu changes every two weeks and it's a popular place. So if you see a menu you really like, be sure to make reservations quickly.

Amazing vegan food in a lovely atmosphere.

Een mooi concept; vegan en no waste. Helaas is de uitvoering matig. Het eten is erg old fashioned vegan en weinig spannend. Smaken ook niet altijd in balans. De (vegan) tijdsgeest heeft dit restaurant toch echt ingehaald.

Wij zijn op kerstavond komen eten in deze mooie wagon. Het eten is allemaal vegan en heel erg lekker. Keuzes qua eten hoef je ook niet te maken omdat er een wisselend 4 gangen menu wordt geserveerd. De eerste 3 gangen vonden wij echt geweldig. Het toetje vonden we wel een beetje tegen vallen tegenover de rest maar we komen zeker terug wanneer er weel een nieuw menu is.

Heerlijk culinair eten. Gezellige kleinschalige originele ambiance waar je verstaanbare gesprekken kan voeren. Zeker een aanrader

Ambiance is bijzonder/knus. Prettige achtergond muziek. Service okay. Maar n.a.v. de reviews (en prijzen) iets meer kwaliteit verwacht dan gekregen. Gevraagd naar aanpassing voor kind, werd positief op gereageerd, maar uiteindelijk niks van gezien en volle pond betaald terwijl ze veel minder eet. Huiswijn is gewoontjes; niks meer dan dat helaas. Toegegeven: we hadden ook een beetje pech met capucijnergerecht wat net ongeveer het weinige is wat m’n vrouw niet eet. Verder was t thema “hollandse pot” wat oplevert wat de naam suggereert en we hadden niet het menu gechecked of van tevoren onze dieetwensen opgegeven waar op zich wel mogelijkheid toe bestaat geloof ik. Al met al: bijzonder restaurant; kwalitatief goed, wel erg aan de prijs. We hadden ook beetje pech met dit specifieke (fixed 4 gangen, wisselt elke paar weken) menu: was net niet de smaak van sommige gezinsleden. Wordt geen rekening gehouden met kleine eters/ kindergerecht aanpassingen hebben ze niet helaas. Leuk voor een keer.
