Afgelopen week zijn we met ons bedrijf komen eten. Het restaurant ziet er erg mooi uit en ontvangst was prima. Helaas was de bediening erg slecht We hebben bijna ander half uur op het eten moeten wachten terwijl er nauwelijks mensen in het restaurant zaten. Er kwam geen enkel excuus waarom het zo lang moest duren. Vervolgens werd de helft van de tafel van hun gerecht voorzien en de rest moest nog 15 minuten wachten. De warme bijgerechten zoals gegrilde groente kwamen 10 minuten voor het hoofdgerecht. Die hebben we weer teruggestuurd om te laten opwarmen maar ook dat zonder excuus. En een huiswijntje voor 11e/glas is wel erg prijzig. De kwaliteit van het eten was prima maar terugkomen gaan we echt niet meer doen en zou het ook geen enkel ander bedrijf aanbevelen.

Food was very simple and little while we took the chef's menu for 4 people. We had to wait a long time between rounds. In the end I also found a cat hair in my fish. They didn't mind at all. Afterwards a colleague and I ended up with diarrhea. Once and never again, you expect much more for that price.

Nice spot on the Amstel. An oasis among the high-rise buildings in the summer! But the food really needs to be better. The chicken sandwich was tasty but far too simple and the Beijing duck salad in particular was very disappointing. Small pieces of dried out meat. The skin was not crispy and the meat not juicy. They were dried out pieces with no cracking taste. Don't put it on the menu if you can't make it fresh. Because this was just a shame. Furthermore, nice seats and nice controls

The vibe here is a 10/10 there are definitely more young people here that are students but it’s a very nice and local spot. The food is very good is has a share dining team and is they serve an (East) Asian cuisine what I love. I must say the portions are incredible small and you pay quite some money so definitely change that up I understand that sharing is the whole concept but we ordered quite some food and we were still hungry mind you the bill was quite high. The staff were very nice and chill (but in a good way). Even tho they forgot to give my cola and left it on an other table besides that it’s a beautiful building, food was amazing, staff very friendly it would be an amazing spot in the summer as well bc of the view on the water and the terrace spots.

Unfortunately, our visit to Marina George was a bitter disappointment. The taste of the food was okay, but the portions were tiny. The waitress was friendly, but clearly completely inexperienced. Instead of a simple salt shaker, a dirty packet of salt was placed on the table - absolutely unacceptable. The floor was also dirty, which really shouldn't happen to a restaurant in this price range. When we pointed out that we If we were dissatisfied, the only answer we received was a disinterested "ohh", without any attempt to respond to our feedback. At these prices I expect a lot more - both in terms of service and quality. Unfortunately very disappointing and definitely not recommended.

Unfortunately I got food poisoning after eating at George Marina. I was very sick for 2 days and couldn't work. After 2 polite emails and a telephone call, no feedback with apologies was received, which is extremely bad. I therefore strongly advise against this matter.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but it has become terribly expensive. It is a shared dining concept, where you pay €9.50 for two pork skewers with 3 pieces of meat, for example. All other dishes are pretty much the same concept: you get a tiny bit of food for the main prize. The food is tasty, but the price is really out of proportion. There was only one other table occupied and yet the waiters managed to forget our drinks😅. We ended up spending €95 for lunch with the 4 of us and then at the Mac to properly fill our bellies.

What a wonderful evening we had! The food was absolutely delicious! For the eye and for the taste buds. We were sitting by the water on the terrace on a beautiful summer evening... well... the atmosphere was just perfect with the sunset. The service was super nice and involved, up for a chat and everything went well in terms of ordering. There was never a long wait anywhere, everything ran smoothly. Occasionally you could see that the runners did not always know which table they should be at, but that did not bother us at all. All in all, a fantastic experience and definitely worth repeating!

Mixed feelings for this review at George Marina. I have eaten here before for a staff dinner and allergies were not taken into account. The evening did not end so pleasantly because we had to go to the HAP, but it was then resolved well with apologies, etc. But now I called for a reservation. This had to be done online for €15 per person and then served on an empty terrace. The card looks good, but the price-quality is not in proportion. Sushi is tasty, but the sea bass Bali, for example, is a real disappointment. Prawn toast too! It is also in a beautiful location on the water, but parking is always disappointing.

Inicialmente se le dijo a la entrada que podíamos conseguir una mesa, ya que solo éramos dos de nosotros y que podíamos entrar, el "anfitrión" dijo que estaban completamente reservados cuando pudimos ver claramente que había numerosas mesas vacías. No es una gran primera impresión de cenar en Amsterdam. Lamentablemente ni siquiera tuvo la oportunidad de ver cómo era la comida, pero definitivamente no se sentirá tentado de volver.

Naarmate je ouder wordt ga je ook wat vaker eerst naar 10 tellen voordat je iets schrijft, zegt of doet. Althans; zo doe ik het tegenwoordig! Ik schrijf in mijn titel; slecht en goed. Ik ga het uitleggen. Ontvangst; goed. We mochten zelfs na aan tafel te zitten naar een "mooiere" tafel verhuizen. Bediening; meer dan goed. Super vriendelijk, behulpzaam... gewoon zoals het hoort maar wat niet altijd het geval is op andere locaties. Hou dit vol. Eten; allemaal even lekker van smaak. Waarom dan toch slecht. Om de heel simpele reden. Wij kwamen voor de Sushi echter was deze aan het begin van de avond al OP! Te druk geweest in de middag en er niet op gerekend. Ik zeg; verkeerd ingeschat. Door wie maakt mij niet uit. Van de bediening kwam er na 1,5 uur dan toch de Sushi GO. Helaas. Foutieve communicatie. De rijst moet nog 30 minuten afkoelen. Uiteindelijk hebben wij besloten om de Sushi te skippen en de rekening gevraagd. Wel wil ik afsluiten met goed. Waarom; de manager kwam persoonlijk de rekening brengen. Bood zijn excuus aan en heeft op de rekening zijn naam met email geschreven. als wij toch nog van plan zijn om de Sushi te komen proeven reserveer dan rechtstreeks bij mij. Ik zal er dan persoonlijk voor zorgen dat het een top avond wordt. Wat mij/ons betreft verdient (bijna) iedereen een 2de kans. Dus Lucas; tot een volgende keer.

What chaos. We received the wrong order several times. The service is nice but has no catering experience at all. The waiter had called us to a different table number, so the ordered food and drinks first made a round on the terrace in search of the right table. I got my food first, tuna (which had cooled down quite a bit!) and we weren't given any of it, just cutlery. The food did not arrive at the same time anyway, apparently that is part of it, but please report this in advance! The location is great and the service is nice, but we have never experienced such a chaotic evening in the catering industry as here. Shame!

NB: I only discovered today that the review had been rejected by Google. This review is about February 14, 2023. ------------------------------------------- What a dramatic experience! You can reserve a parking space, but the parking garage is not indicated anywhere. “Drive between the buildings.” Well, in Amsterdam that applies to pretty much the entire city. Ultimately it turns out to be an obscure hidden gate, somewhere at the rear of the 'restaurant'. In the meantime I had parked my car elsewhere, so you have lost the money from that parking garage (12 euros). Then we arrive (my wife and I wanted to celebrate Valentine's Day together) at the restaurant itself. The lady at the reception looks at you, then turns around and mumbles something unintelligible while standing with her back to you. I ask her to repeat it and she turns away from me again as she starts talking. Then I ask her to at least talk to her face instead of her back. That went better. Then you sit at your table and a sweet girl brings you a menu. She starts rattling off her memorized script about “the special”. I hear something about sushi and lobster and that seems like something to me. So I say “Just do that twice.” After an hour there is no food. The order appears to have disappeared (???) and she asks who took the order… “You yourself, miss!”. Another 15 minutes later a bowl comes with 4 makis, 6 sashimi and more oysters swimming around in too much sauce. Looks nice, but you can no longer taste the oysters. Okay, so we eat that and I ask a teacher when the rest of “the special” is coming. “This was it sir; this was the special for two people.” Huh? For TWO people?? Two makis, 3 sashimi and an oyster for dinner… Well… “and the lobster?” It turns out to be hiding in the first lemur. That must have been a very small lobster. Probably those crayfish that you buy in the supermarket for a euro per box. A little later the lady passes by again to clear the table and I ask again “Is this for two people?” And she says as firmly as possible, “No! This was for one person!” I ask if she is sure and she nods affirmatively. Then I just ask for the bill. We arrived nice and early so we still had time to eat somewhere else after this starter. Then she comes with the bill and once again states categorically that it was for one person. But the bill does show a “special” for two people. Then I'm done. I don't feel like making a scene with the other guests, so I walk to the exit and ask if I can speak to the manager. After I had to repeat that twice, a gentleman finally came. “We will definitely contact you this week,” they promise. So that never happened. This establishment is rattling from all sides. That's what happens when you work with (too many) students and interns. We eventually went to a restaurant in Hoofddorp where we could still go. My wife had a bad hangover from this event, because she had found this restaurant on the internet and therefore felt very guilty that we had had this unpleasant experience. In any case, our Valentine's evening was ruined. The restaurant appears to be part of a group of restaurants that all have “George” in the name. That makes it easier to avoid them... Highly recommended!! Afterwards they dryly report that they have improved their procedures (in 1.5 years). That may well be the case (I don't believe it) but in the meantime I have paid twice for a single 'meal' and they are too miserable to contact me. So I don't care about that.

Beautiful spot at the Marina. Sharing concept is what they are offering, food comes when it is ready. Portion sizes were super small and one could question how such a small portion good be shared. Food was okish, some items such as sushi were really good, oyster skewers were a disappointment as there was no taste at all. Though we had a really fun night and did not leave hungry; however I probably would not come back for the food.

Nice tent with good view. Sunny terrace and almost always room. The menu has recently been adjusted and the Asian twist also seems to have minimized the portions. Very small for a lot of money. The taste is good, but no one was full after lunch, so we only ordered a few extra portions of fries, because they still had some volume. It's also a shame that the bitterballen are off the menu, perhaps a nice Asian variant can be devised. Certainly not a bad tent, but the difference is noticeable over the years.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday evening with 2p. But eating turned out to be impossible, because after an hour no one had come to our table to take an order, except for a glass of champagne. When we paid, the waiter asked if everything had been to our liking, and when we explained why not, she apologized because she may have overlooked us. Mind you; There were a total of 5 tables and 3 staff, including 1 manager, who didn't seem to care. Conclusion: don't go unless you want to pay double for a very mediocre all you can eat QR code experience.

Alles is pretentieus, maar niets wordt waargemaakt. Vreselijk overprijst, weinig tot geen smaak aan de gerechten, gerechtjes komen mondjesmaat, maar niet tegelijk binnen, zelfs de drie desserts voor drie personen konden ze niet tegelijk serveren. Onze borden werden niet afgeruimd toen het desert op tafel werd gezet. Na het afruimen bleven de bakjes sojasaus alsnog staan.

The restaurant looks nice and is located in a nice place. In my opinion, this is the only positive thing that can be said about George Marina. The portions are too bizarre for words, considering what you pay per dish. For example, you pay €19 for a few small strips of steak (approx. 100 grams), but you had to order fries separately. This should be a main course, but an adult really can't live on this. Unfortunately, the portions of the other dishes ordered were just as small, sometimes even smaller (char siu pork belly skewer). Besides the food, the service was also very disappointing. It took over an hour before we could order. When ordering we were also told that you could only order the starter, ordering the main course would only be possible afterwards. This meant that we had to wait a very long time again before we could order the main course. In addition, the dishes were often placed somewhere on the table by the wrong person, which was very sloppy. All this while it was very quiet in the restaurant. Afterwards we had to eat something at home, due to the small portions and long waiting times.

The new menu does not meet expectations, service does its best to defend the story. I would love to take over this restaurant which is almost empty on a Sunday evening.Location is excellent but clearly poor management!

It is located in a privileged location in one of Amsterdam's ports. We have gone with our boat and directly to the restaurant. We had lunch with a friend and it really has a magnificent atmosphere and view. The service is good but quite impersonal since everything is ordered by QR code. They bring the food, they pick it up... you barely have any contact with the staff. And about the food...it's not worth the price you pay. Little quantity and not very good quality. What you pay for is the location!

We had lunch at George Marina. Beautiful spot on the water and we also had a lovely sun on the terrace. They just changed their concept so we were very curious. The sushi was great and the rest of the dishes were okay. Not very special. The nori fries are tasty, but you are completely covered in pieces of nori. In terms of service it was not good. We already had to order via a QR code, which already takes away a lot of service, but okay in these times it is difficult to find staff, so I understand that you have to adjust something somewhere, but then you have to ensure that the service for the the rest is good and that was not the case. Everything was just put on the table and even when a dessert was served (which you cannot time because you don't answer at the table) the entire table was still full of dirty plates, etc. This is just one example, but too many to mention. to mention. Very unfortunate, but for the money you then pay.

The location is very “gezellig”, it sits across the water which creates a very cute atmosphere. The food is good but nothing exceptional, keeping the prices in mind I’d honestly rather order from a dedicated Japanese restaurant where you would most likely get more quality and quantity for half the price. George Marina feels very much like a “I’m dinging here to be seen here” type restaurant, rather than “I’m dining here because I like the food” which directly reflects onto their prices. I don’t think I’d visit again just because I think the prices are a little ridiculous and there are plenty of waterfront restaurants in Amsterdam which have either more unique concepts with better food or are just cheaper overall. I’d give it a 6.5 but I can’t so 6.0 will do 👍.

I wish I could give a better review because the staff is really nice, but the food is just very medium and you have to wait foreeeeever to get it... and there were hardly people in the restaurant.... The choices and recipes they offer I don't like so much. The taste of things is a bit boring and bland. We had sushi as a starter. It was OK. The mussels were tasteless and undercooked. The steak was small. The fries come from the wholesaler. I went here for work, but I would not go here again with my family for sure.

Very very long wait. 1h30 between order and starter (a burata, don't tell me it takes 90 minutes to take a burata out of the fridge and put it on a plate). In addition it is very poorly insulated so there are big drafts and it is very cold in the restaurant. It was nice but way too long, we won't come back.

Service was very poor, we simply ordered 3 club sandwiches, pancake and extra portion of fries, it took almost 40 minutes before we got it and it was not even that busy, except that we had to wait a very long time, the fries were ice cold and the pancake was also cold, I called the waitress twice but she didn't come, we were with children, I didn't feel like waiting any longer as I was being ignored, we thought we'd eat and we'd go... When we got up to leave, she asked right away. we pay? She didn't even have patience until we were all off the table and had our coats on. I have never experienced this before, never again! I will also advise everyone to come here!

I was hesitant to come here because of the many bad reviews, but I needed to eat somewhere at 8:30pm on a Saturday. When I arrived, I was impressed by the atmosphere: soft lighting and marble tables. However, as I started to pay attention to the details, my experience began to decline. This restaurant is clearly trying to provide a fine dining experience, as evidenced by the prices. However, there is a clear lack of attention to detail. The staff were wearing jeans and trainers, and the tables had thin paper covers. When a waiter had to move a chair, he grinded it across the floor, making an unpleasant sound. Several times, the background music simply stopped playing. These small things all downscaled the service. The food was good, but it did not exceed expectations and was not worth the high price. This place has potential, but it needs improvement to justify its prices. Some positives were the fast service and the ability to get a table without a reservation. However, after spending over £50 for a drink, starter, and main course, I can see why there are many unhappy customers in the reviews.

The place has a great view and looks great. However, the food is overprived. 22 euros for 8 piece of average and small sushi. Things such as the seafoodsalad is not very seasoned. Price-quality ratio lacks a lot. The service was dissapointing because everything started with a no. We called to ask if there is any table for dinner and they insisted that it is fully booked and no. Despite that, we came in person and the place was far from full, it was about 30% tables occupied, there were so many free tables that we could choose from. Overall this place is overpriced but it has a nice view.

Место сильно переоценено, не то качество еды за эти деньги. Брали устрицы и сет роллов - устрицы ничего, обычные устрицы. Роллы ожидали большего, «корабль» оказался только небольшой тарелкой , роллы посредственные. Не плохо, но можно найти гораздо лучше. Вид красивый, тут не поспоришь. Играл диджей, музыка неплохая. Обслуживание долго (ждали около 25 минут пока а нам подойдут) и около 30-40 минут роллы. Я понимаю, что это место раскручена из-за вида, но не рекомендую его в плане еды

Wij wonen om de hoek. Daarom is het zo jammer dat George Maria zo slecht is. Voor een borrel met een een hapje gaat het nog wel, maar eten is een teleurstelling. We hebben een keer kreeft besteld als voorgerecht, maar dit kwam maar niet terwijl de andere gasten al wel hun voorgerecht hadden. Daarna moesten we wachten en kwam er iets van verkruimeld kreeftenvlees in een schaal van kreeft. Dit was echt niet vers. Ze kunnen het gewoon niet aan qua personeel. Maar wel zijn ze heel duur. Om te borrelen leuk, maar dat is het dan ook.

Seafood BBQ to share is a great choice, well worth getting your fingers dirty. Food would be getting 5 starts if our fries where not refried, we had to send it back. Service although friendly was very inattentive. After the main dish we asked for wine and were ready to order the dessert, however the wine never arrived to the table. We were also never offered the dessert menu. After waiting for about 20 minutes we got to the bar to ask for the bill.

Nice atmosphere, good music, super attentive service and very good food. The price is fair. We ordered 1 starter, 2 dishes, 1 dessert and 3 drinks, which cost us €50. Portions are generous. We will come back as often as possible!

The place is in very bad condition, with terrible service. The food is mediocre and expensive for the quality. The 30% discount that The Fork app indicated was only 14%, a scam. Avoid it completely both the restaurant and the reservation by The Fork application.
