A truly terrible and utterly scandalous experience at La Madonna in Amsterdam. From the very beginning, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable because the waiter kept staring at us, even before our food was even served. We ordered carpaccio and received raw meat with a brownish-gray edge, clearly indicating it wasn't fresh. Carpaccio is supposed to be red and fresh; this was absolutely not and poses a serious risk of food poisoning. As if that wasn't enough, there was also a black, curly hair stuck in the meat. I have dark blonde hair and my boyfriend has short hair, so this hair couldn't possibly have come from us. Pure unhygienic conditions. When I confronted the waiter about this, he briefly apologized for the hair. But when I pointed out the discolored edge of the meat, he literally said this was "normal" and admitted the meat wasn't fresh. That this is considered normal is truly shocking. We didn't pay and left immediately. The restaurant was empty, and after this experience, it's completely clear why. Unsanitary, unprofessional, and absolutely not recommended.

We came here for dinner to end our lovely day in Amsterdam in a pleasant way, but this experience completely ruined it. First of all, we had to wait for our drinks until the appetizer, which seemed unprofessional. But the real low point came with the appetizer itself. We ordered carpaccio, and what we received was absolutely disgusting: the meat had clearly been sitting for a long time, had a large brown edge, and was covered in hairs that were clearly from the chef. When we confronted the waiter about this, we were surprised to be told that this was "normal" and that carpaccio should look this way because it "doesn't arrive fresh." Sorry, but this is complete nonsense and, above all, a lack of basic knowledge and hygiene. Carpaccio should be fresh, red, and well-prepared – not brown, dried out, and covered in hairs. No apology, no solution, just an absurd explanation. So we left without eating, feeling hungry and with a completely ruined end to our day in Amsterdam. This restaurant not only lacks quality but also respect for its customers. Once, never again.

Avoid this place. The burger was incredibly basic... better made at home. The salad wasn't great. The restaurant was really nothing special.

The pizza and pasta were delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. Prices were a bit high, as is typical. Definitely check the bill. We were charged for two drinks too many. The restroom was okay for a man. We would go again.

There was a sign at the front that said "Spaghetti and 1/2 chicken for 10,99". When I asked about it they told me the price wasn't really 10,99 but 18,99. I ended up just ordering spaghetti carbonara and a pizza. The pizza tasted like it had been frozen. The carbonara was watery and the bacon was soft and tasteless and has a weird texture.

Tourist trap next to the train station, freezing service, pasta and pizzas seem to have just been reheated. Avoid at all costs

We have been in Europe for three weeks and this is the best we have had! This food is flavorful and aromatic! The chicken soup was something my Italian grandmother would make if I had one! The carbonara was succulent and hearty! Try the garlic bread and savor what you have been missing all your life! If you don’t eat here then you have missed out on one of life’s best treats!

The best lasagna I have ever eaten! Even better than most of the pasta dishes I had when I was in Italy.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by a young woman and immediately felt welcome. The service was very friendly, attentive, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. We arrived around 8:30 p.m. and were able to enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. We disagree with the negative reviews. The restaurant was very busy, and only a few seats remained.

It's not a 10-quality meal, we can give it a 7-8 but for the price and the touristy location it's in, I think it does its job satisfactorily 👍🏼

About half the tables in the restaurant were occupied. We waited patiently to be assigned a table. Instead of a greeting, we were immediately informed that we could only eat for 30 minutes from the time we ordered. Then they turned on their heels and simply left us standing there. We were a little confused at first, but initially decided to accept it and sat down at a free table. As soon as we sat down, locals came over and were asked if they had a reservation, but were told no. Nevertheless, they were given a table with no time restrictions. This left us speechless. So we got up and left. As we left, the next tourists came in and were told the same thing as us. We can't judge whether the food was good. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. But the way people treat us is very negative.

This looks like a nice restaurant and the atmosphere is quite pleasant, but the food is tasteless and bland. Neither myself or my husband finished ours, which is unheard of. The homemade bread with herb butter was just bread rolls. It was odd and again tasteless. Pasta portions were big, but just had no flavour at all. Disappointing.

The price is outrageous for frozen food, reheated at the last minute. $130 for creamy pasta and Aldi pizzas resold at 5x their price. RUN AWAY QUICKLY.

We were at LA Madonna on a Friday afternoon. The ambiance in the restaurant is pleasant and cozy. The service is friendly and polite. The menu is tidy and easy to navigate, and the prices are—typical of Amsterdam—rather on the high side. I had a calzone pizza. The shape was a bit unusual, but the advantage of the shape is that the filling runs the entire length of the pizza. Unfortunately, the flavor wasn't great. Both pizzas were pretty tasteless; there was no seasoning whatsoever. On top of that, the dough on the calzone pizza was still completely raw in parts. The dough wasn't really pizza dough either; the texture was more bready. It was probably a quick, instant dough that didn't require a lot of preparation time. This wasn't a real Italian pizza dough with little yeast, a long fermentation time, and high hydration. It's a shame, the atmosphere promised more than it ultimately delivered. We probably won't be going here again.

Very good and delicious portions! We had carbonara; someone there really knows what they're doing. Good portions, and the servers were all very friendly. The restrooms are small, but well-maintained and clean.

I ordered a Quattro Formaggi pizza. Unfortunately, it wasn't that good. The crust was almost raw. But the waiter was very attentive and polite.

As a local and tourist, I would recommend avoiding this restaurant. The food was disappointing. I ordered a three-course menu, starting with a fine salad. However, the Salmone Della Casa was served raw and undercooked twice, even after I sent it back to the kitchen for a new plate. The service was also poor. The waiter tried to be accommodating when I complained about the food, but it wasn’t enough to make up for the quality of the meal.

The food was just OK. The service was also just OK. But we were asked to pay tips (service charge) on top of the food we ordered. This was the only restaurant that we were asked to pay tips in our 2 weeks trip across the Netherlands and Belgium.

En général on ne rentre pas dans les restau’ vides alors que les autres sont bondés… Mais on ne sait pourquoi (ou si, peut être parce qu’on a marché toute la journée et qu’on avait vraiment la flemme de revenir en arrière) nous sommes rentré dans ce restaurant qui avait l’air bien tant par la carte que la déco… Quelle idée ! Le gérant (ou serveur) peu importe, n’était pas très agréable… On nous assois et prend notre commande, à aucun moment il était question de fermer ou juste de timing… Les plats arrivent on nous sert en nous disant “on ferme dans 30 minutes.” Sous entendu, “mangez et barrez vous”. Euh… On nous a demandé ce que nous souhaitions comme pâtes et avions demandé des tagliatelles. Ce n’est pas ce qui est arrivé… La nourriture est correcte mais pas de grande qualité. Après tout, nous avions faim et n’avions pas le temps… Au vue de l’accueil, nous avons finit et n’avons pas opté pour le dessert, qui de toute façon n’a pas été proposé ! Oui oui, à peine nos assiettes finis on est venu nous débarrasser en demandant si nous souhaitions payer en cash ou CB… Encore une fois, euh… La table à côté de nous (3 dames) n’a pas était pressée et a pu gentiment finir son dessert. Le temps qu’on paie l’addition, un autre couple est rentré et a été installé à une table. Du coup le restaurant ne ferme plus ??? C’est à la tête du client ? Franchement, nous avions besoin de manger quelque chose de simple et rapide avant de rentrer à notre hôtel, mais nous ne recommandons vraiment pas les lieux. Les plats ne sont pas ouf… Et l’accueil est vraiment piteux… Heureusement que la note est basse.

Good place in the center of Amsterdam for some pizzas. The pepperoni pizza was very good, it was not the typical classic, with a spicy touch and red onion, very good. The margherita pizza was good too. The atmosphere is very pleasant and so is the attention.

Der Kellner hat uns einen Platz gegeben und uns ab dann bewusst ignoriert bis schließlich weggeekelt. Nachdem er langsam alle Tische geputzt hatte, ist er dann lustlos zu uns gekommen und meinte “jetzt hätte er zeit für uns aber es dauert heute alles eh lange”. Damit sind wir aufgestanden und gegangen

An experience to forget... nothing better to report

How sad it is when they put photos on the door with the menu they are going to offer you and then you see something totally different. It's tomato paste with CHICKEN. The pasta was good, but the chicken? It didn't taste or look like chicken to me. Maybe another dish is worth it but this for nothing.

Disfrutamos tanto de la comida que estuvimos 2 noches seguidas. La comida era sabrosa, con buenas porciones y a un precio razonable. Las dos damas sirviendo eran alegres y educadas. Sin duda recomendaría.

Super tasty food, good service and a beautiful interior. Reserved with social deal so we couldn't complain about the price.

Good inexpensive cafe in the center. Not a bad choice on the menu. And very tasty. Prices are average. But note that the portions are large. We were with our teenage daughter, a portion of spaghetti 🍝 would have been enough for two easily. I especially liked the carbonara pasta. I recommend it.

Cuando entramos en el restaurante se sentía como si les estuviéramos imponiendo el dueño no era muy acogedor o educado no parecía interesado en absoluto muy miserable. La comida era buena porción promedio precio razonable para Amsterdam, yo tenía pasta arabbiata que era básicamente en lata de tomates picados con cebollas muy básico , mi esposa tenía una mitad especial de pollo y espaguetis combo raro porción grande de nuevo salsa pollo muy básico cocinado bien porción grande mitad , yo tenía una botella de agua con mi comida botella más pequeña que he visto nunca no sabía que hacían botellas tan miniatura , Una comida servida joven tipo parecía dueños hijo muy educado parecía y más agradable sugiero al dueño dejarlo saludar a los clientes.

I ordered a pizza, and even though there were onions on it by mistake, the attentive waitress immediately recognized from my facial expressions that something was wrong. Without hesitation I was offered a new pizza – at no extra charge! The service was simply first class. Added to this is the quiet, pleasant atmosphere, far away from the hectic hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. The food was super tasty, the prices were absolutely fair. Great value for money, service 1A! I'll definitely be back.

Di italiano ha solo il nome. Le pizze sono insipide seppure abbondantemente farcite. Il pomodoro, molto saporito, si contrappone alla pasta, ma sulla crosta le differenze si vedono tutte.

Disappointing :( The restaurant is nicely decorated and well located, the menu is very nice, but the food was very disappointing. Salmon pasta is actually just pasta mixed with tomato sauce like the one in supermarkets with cooked salmon with bones. My friend had the burrata pizza, it was just tomato sauce, 3 poor cherry tomatoes, a buratta and 3kg of lamb's lettuce. +3€ for a glass of water…. The waiter (boss?) was not smiling at all and didn't speak, but the waitress was very nice and smiling. The waitress + the decor + the location justifies the 2 stars but I do not recommend this place if you want to eat in a good Italian place.

Tourist trap. We order a steak or salmon for more than €20 and we are told that there is no side dish and that we have to pay €4 more to have fries. If you choke, expect to pay €6 for a carafe of water. The food is not Italian dishes at all, it is not homemade and the icing on the cake, the manager is super unpleasant, not even a hello or a smile when they serve us our dishes. To flee. (Ps: the waitress on the other hand was very nice)

Encontré este lugar tan bueno que comí aquí dos noches seguidas. Tomé ensalada y espagueti una noche, y lasaña la siguiente. Las porciones eran generosas. El personal era genial y la ubicación era genial.

Esta fue la única noche que no habíamos investigado y reservado con antelación, así que fue suerte de olla - tenían una mesa libre fuera debajo de los calentadores, que era muy agradable como podía ver el mundo pasar. Pero el personal no era amable o acogedor en absoluto, lo que lo arruinó un poco. La comida era promedio, pero no caro dada la ubicación, así que estábamos bien con eso. Realmente es el personal que decepcionó este lugar.

Quite standard, The food was ok, nothing extraordinary but it was good, the garlic bread was a high point. I asked for bolognese which i would recommend, as long as you don’t order something extravagant you will be fine. The service was just enough to be satisfied but nothing more, same for the atmosphere.
