Today I attended Rudy's sourdough workshop. What an incredibly informative experience! Rudy knows how to connect with people of all skill levels. The group included people with no experience, some with some experience, and even those baking for their neighborhood. Rudy had helpful tips for every baker. The location is convenient, with parking right outside. Lunch included homemade pizza, which was a little late, but understandable given all the hands-on exercises and the rising time for the various ingredients. I took home loads of freshly baked bread, including baugette, rustic loaf, and focaccia. Want to learn more about sourdough? Treat yourself to this course and, above all, this incredibly fun day!

Imagine you're on the train from Groningen to Zwolle and you're desperately craving a delicious adana kebab. This place is a treat for your taste buds: a wonderfully flavorful kebab served on a freshly baked lavash. Herbs, vegetables, and sauce perfectly balanced. Although ayran (called TAN in Armenia, something learned) wasn't on the menu, the sweet woman behind the counter lovingly made us a glass of fresh TAN. That glass of homemade dairy delight alone is worth 5 stars. The blinchik and the wrap with eggplant caviar were also simply top-notch. This Armenian bakery is a must-visit for everyone, especially if you enjoy good food and friendly service. If not, stay home.

Patisserie Lindeboom in Zwolle is truly top-notch! You can taste the craftsmanship and passion of this family business in every pastry and bonbon. Known for their delicious "Zwollenaartjes" (little Zwolle locals) and award-winning cakes, they offer a wide variety of fresh treats. The service is friendly and personal, and you can feel the passion for their craft. Highly recommended for anyone looking for truly delicious pastries! See the photo for my selection after visiting this pastry shop.

This fine baker has a cooling unit/compressor on the roof for the bakery's cold room, but it's on more often than off. This results in the bedrooms on the first floor of the houses surrounding the bakery hearing that old compressor running all night long. Apparently, normal nighttime silence is too much to ask of our baker, who also doesn't have a closed enclosure around the cooling unit for the freezer room (which has been mandatory since 2012 according to the guidelines!!) This also makes it noisier than necessary. Sleeping with the bedroom window open for fresh, cool air in the summer isn't an option for my son. I've spoken to the baker about this several times, and he says he's doing something about it, but he doesn't. It's a real shame it has to be this way. I think the baker is waiting for someone "else" to do "something" about it. But whether this is good for the products in the cold room...
