Very good and friendly restaurant in a quiet location. Price-performance ratio is perfectly fine. The service tries unobtrusively to fulfill your wishes. Also very good vegetarian and vegan dishes.

We tried two dishes and both were delicious: the lamp chops tandoori and the butter chicken with garlic naan. The service is extremely kind. Highly recommended if you are in Amsterdam Zuid!

Customer friendly Delicious food!

I ordered food but some of it was missing. When I called, there was a discussion: I should come by myself or contact Thuisbezorgd. Due to their mistake, I had to make extra efforts and wait hours for the delivery, while the delivery person was also very rude.

Probably the best Indian restaurant we have ever had. Totally recomended, the food esa delicious. If we come again to Amsterdam, we will come back for sure.

Only place where we could order on New Year's Eve. You may not expect the very best, but this tent has broken through everything. What a wonderfully sweet man on the phone. He helped come up with a top menu and it was fantastic. One of the best butter chickens I've ever eaten. It was really phenomenal, my review cannot describe how happy I am with this tent. Happy new year, and I can highly recommend this to everyone.

We went here for dinner and as a vegetarian who adores indian kitchen I was very excited about food here after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The server warned us that the Lamb Vindaloo would be very spicy, but you could barely feel any spices in it. The Royal Vegetarian Thali only looked good, but it was all very tasteless. I had plenty of indian food all around the world and this one unfortunately takes the last place. The raita was very sweet, the garlic naan barely had any garlic, the cheese naan felt dry and the lentils had no flavor… and the service was quite slow indeed, as others mentioned in their reviews (would’ve been fine if the food were any good). Very sorry to leave this review but it truly wasn’t worth more than 2 stars, I hope they make some changes in the future!

quite fine. butterfly prawns and chicken tikka as a starter were a bit dry, but tasty. The lighting flashes so occasionally it became a bit darker and a bit brighter, which was annoying. there was no music or it was too soft to hear so it lacked some atmosphere. the main course chicken tikka massala was tasty but not very special, the same goes for the garlic naan. the lamb curry was very tender and delicious. good service too

We ate a delicious meal here with terrific service, the mixed tandoori grill and Nepalese dumplings were very tasty with absolutely great naan bread.

We ordered Jhol Momo and vegetarian thali. Though the food took a little time to come, the food was fresh and well made. Our hostess was very attentive and kind.

Food was so-so, but service was terrible. They took over an hour to bring the food (even though we went mid-week, not a particularly crowded day), and forgot some part of the order. The ambience was nothing special. Narrow space and tables were placed so close to each other that you could not get in and out of your chair without disturbing guests at neighboring tables. The place was echoing with the voices of all customers thanks to bare walls and bad acoustics. Got a headache by the time we left.

Amazing food, great experience! I must say their naans were great, especially the Cheese and Garlic naans. Would definitely recommend them for curry and other Indian delicacies.

Best Indian restaurant in Amsterdam! Good quality ingredients, thee best lamb vindaloo I’ve ever had - freshly prepared too! The naan was really good. It’s an owner- run business, friendly service, in a good location just 2min from a tram station, in the upmarket Oud-Zuid neighbourhood.

Good Indian food. Small family restaurant. A little outside the center but definitely worth the journey. Price performance is exceptionally good.

Very nice place to eat Indian cuisine. Pleasant and smiling staff. Very high quality cuisine. Be careful, however, with the much too spicy Vindaloo chicken which turned out to be inedible. I emphasize that I am used to eating spicy foods and that I tolerate this food very well, but then I cried to my mother!

We went to Golden Thali for early dinner after a long train ride from Zürich to Amsterdam. The taste and warmth of the food we helped us forget the long journey that we had and got us ready for a memorable evening in Amsterdam. The staff (one of whom was an owner I believe) were very friendly towards us. We definitely recommend Golden Thali to Nepalese/Indian food lovers or those exploring to expand their taste buds with exotic Himalayan cuisine.

We went here because they're dog-friendly. We'd go back because the food is fantastic. My dal makhni was great, the momos were incredibly delicious, and I think their samosa was the best I've ever had. Even better than the food was the owner's friendly service. One of the loveliest people I've ever met.

Best Indian food I've ever had. I would definitely recommend the golden menu for 2 people. Every dish was super delicious and the dessert (kulfi) was a really nice surprise, which tasted like butter mango ice cream. The host was really kind and chatted with the guests. The place was clean, there was enough privacy and I liked the music in the background. Would recommend!

We found this place via Neotaste and had no idea what to expect. Usually we would get takeaway but had to eat there in order to get the discount from the Neotaste app, and we are so glad we did. Not only was the food by far the best Indian I’ve had in Amsterdam in all 7 years of living here, but the staff (especially the owner) was so friendly and proud of the restaurant. The food was fresh, the place is very clean and the atmosphere is cosy. Thankfully it’s right around the corner from me so I’ll definitely be going back.

The food was amazing; sadly the service was unbelievably slow. I waited approximately 25min for starters, another 40min for main course, all that time they forgot about the drinks. I asked something additional, they never brought it. Really annoying.

Update: 30/01/2024 The restaurant is very clean, the taste is excellent, the service is very good, but the prices of the dishes have increased and the size of the dishes has decreased considerably. I do not know what the difference is between Nepali and Indian food but I know I really enjoyed the two very large dishes that were served to us. We will definitely return to this restaurant. My girlfriend and I had a great experience at the Golden Thali yesterday. The dishes were incredibly flavourful, especially the king prawn curry. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. We're definitely looking forward to returning soon!
