The food was good,and the restaurant is clean.The workers are very friendly too.

We had a great time. My friend is vegan and I’m not so finding places isn’t always easy. I had the butter chicken & garlic naan and my friend had the aloo saag and veg momo. We also had a glass of wine each. Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. Definitely saving the place to come back

We shared the Golden menu (for two people), with an extra side and extra naan. Perfect amount of food and different tastes for three people. Soooo kind and generous service, and very tender and juicy meat ( we had lamb, and some chicken Tikka for starter). Very nice evening here for a laidback and nice meal:)

We asked for ras malai and got rasgulla which tasted like it came from a can. There is no rasgulla in the menu. They want me to believe this is ras malai. Rest of the food was fine but this part was hilarious.

This was my first time trying any Indian food and it was fantastic.I am really satisfied. I tried Indian beer cobra and lamb madras with my wife. We really love food and service was good as expected. It was quite busy day today but everything was perfect. Thank u so much waiting until next time .

Absolutely delicious!!! We ordered the golden thali for two people, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Every single side dish was remarkably balanced and flavorful. Each dish clearly reflects the thoughtful care and attention to detail put into it. Customer service was really good, she was warm and attentive. Highly recommend

What a wonderful discovery this restaurant is! The food is delicious and served very tastefully. The people who work there are all equally sweet and friendly. I mentioned that it was my mother's birthday and she promptly received a special dessert, they sang for her, and birthday music played. So thoughtful! This is truly a place to come back to. Nice service and food, great prices, hugee portions

We had a delicious Nepalese meal here. For starters, we shared the Samosas and Momos. For the main course, we both had the mixed tandoori grill. That was very tasty. The staff were friendly too.

Everything was delicious at this restaurant. We're Spanish and were visiting Amsterdam, and we loved this place! Super friendly people, beautiful decor, and the food was amazing.

What a wonderful experience! I have been there several times already, and the quality is always consistent and very good! From the moment you walk in, you are always warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere always feels immediately authentic and hospitable. The dishes were full of flavor, every single one of them – perfectly seasoned, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. The Butter Chicken and the Mango Lassi as a drink are my favorites, truly finger-licking good. And also good to know: Golden Thali has a terrace; I will definitely be coming back here when the weather is nice! In short: highly recommended for anyone who loves Indian food.

We walked in suddenly, early on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only customers at the time. Ordering was easy. Paying... We had a restaurant card, but ours wasn't accepted... What a shame. Even though we had clearly asked for it when we came in. Did they pull a fast one on us?

The food here is excellent. I've been here often, the atmosphere is nice and cozy. The service is good and friendly. My favorite is the mixed grill tandoori, incredibly delicious. I've also picked it up, and the food is ready at the agreed-upon time, neatly packaged and warm, ready to enjoy at home.

Everything was delicious all the food tasted amazing and there is a lot of variety on the menu.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to and definitely one of the best restaurants we have been to so far in Amsterdam. The food is amazing, great drink selection, the garlic naan is amazing and the staff is very friendly. Great indoor and outdoors seating options with umbrella for sun and rain outside, and electric heaters overhead on the patio for when it’s cold. Highly recommend!!

Yesterday, my wife and I dined at this Indian restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. - We were table number three (two people), which is generally not a good sign. There was little atmosphere and it was a bit dull. - The food (see photo) looked well-prepared, but the taste and quality were deeply disappointing: dishes tasted bland, as if they were barely attuned to authentic Indian flavors (in cities like London, New York, or India, the standard is significantly higher). - Given the many 5-star reviews beforehand, it was all the more confusing. I wonder how these high ratings came about. Conclusion: This restaurant simply doesn't live up to the standards you'd expect from a good Indian establishment. Anyone who has ever eaten authentic Indian food with rich flavors, artisanal preparations, and good service will find this experience disappointing. We certainly won't be returning.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and quiet, just right for conversation and enjoyment. We were here for a birthday dinner, and it was a truly successful evening. Super delicious food. The ambiance isn't that great. When we were there, two of the staff members ate one after the other at the next table. That's generally fine with me, but the traditional way of eating (the lady ate her curry with her hands, didn't use a napkin, and carried her plate back and forth with hands smeared with sauce and rice pieces) took some getting used to. Who knows how they work in the kitchen there.

Surprisingly tasty food. Every dish we ordered was great. The mixed vegetables was clearly made with fresh - not frozen - vegetables. The Dal Makhni tasted great just like the naan. Even the white rice was so well made. Not overly dry nor too sticky. We ended up with no leftovers! Human and the staff were super friendly and courteous. Very nice experience on our first day in Amsterdam.

A great little find further away from the city centre, perfect if you’re staying near Amsterdam Zuid. All the food was delicious and arrived quickly; the staff were attentive and kind throughout. Recommend the Lamb Jhalfrezi, Chana Masala, Tandoori Chicken Tikka, Jhol Momo (chicken dumplings were excellent). Reasonably priced.

Simple and small-scale Indian restaurant but the quantity/quality of the food is a lot for the price and the mango lasi is delicious.

We were craving Indian food, so we followed the good reviews of this place and were happy with our choice. The Bangladeshi owner welcomed us warmly and was very kind and attentive. The food was delicious. I asked for a super spicy Indian-style sauce, and it was freshly made, and yes, very spicy. I loved it. The only downside was the table was a bit dirty (they hadn't changed the stained tablecloth) and there was a group of young people playing loud music outside the restaurant. Otherwise, everything was TOO bad.

1.The reviews are misleading,please don't get fooled by them. 2.The chutneys and all are stale,waste of money. 3.The dumplings they served us were frozen and we ordered dumplings for 8€ but they gave us 10 pieces without even asking and charged 18€.Why would I eat frozen food by paying money in the restaurant? 4.Service was really really bad.Got the drink,starter and main course all together,who does that. 5.Too expensive for the quality of food and service Looking at the reply from the owner I am surprised😂 You are boldly claiming you never use frozen,one of your waitress herself admitted that she cannot make momos stuffing spicy as they are frozen. 6.Request to owner instead of talking sweetly with your guests,I would recommend focus on food quality and it will speak for itself

We have been kindly greeted and attended by Devika, who made sure we had a pleasant dinner. The place is quite nice and the food is just great! Get the lamb, It’s delicious. Only one little thing as a constructive criticism, it would be nice to have some music playing to set the mood. Just that.

The many extremely positive reviews lead us here. Unfortunately, my companions and I can't share them. Quite the opposite: The entire dining room is very cramped, noticeably dirty, and loud. Long waits, dishes falling to the floor. Drinks that don't arrive. Tables mixed up. Finally, the large order, with high praise from the gesturing waiter. We start with three chutneys. The coriander chutney is the most promising, but it tastes of stale garlic. The other two with mayo are complete failures. Along with fried bread, poori, and more ballast. We would have preferred to give up. Then come samozas, which also taste of stale fat, and minced meat and eggplant rolls that are only hot on one side, the other ice cold. The main course: Tandoori mix for two – with chicken, bone dry. A lampchop, yes, one for two! It's almost entirely made of fat anyway. And a single shrimp. And one of those minced meat and eggplant rolls. The lentil dal is bland. It lacks typical spices. Its consistency is strangely slimy. The shrimp curry is the best. The pannak paneer is so-so. The whole freshness is extremely questionable. I wish I had stayed home! Oh yes, and let's also mention the insistent questioning of the broadly grinning waiter with two thumbs up. Everything OK? A simple nod and a friendly smile from the sympathetic young lady addressed, who is currently busy with her smartphone, isn't enough here. Excuse me, Miss, everything good? Then there's the blatant request to write a nice review. Well, we can help here.

The food was amazing and the waitress was very kind and helpful. However, the owner started to sit right next to us while there were many other tables available preventing us from having a private conversation. At the end of the dinner we requested for the bill and the owner pointed towards the inside of the restaurant instead of getting the bill to the table. Overall we would still recommend the restaurant based on the food, but if you are looking for good customer experience we recommend going some place else

If you visit, be sure to inform the staff to get you food with your tolerance of spice levels. I didn’t and ended up with “Amsterdam ready” Indian food and it was pretty bland. The paneer was surprisingly soft though for anything outside of India. The naan was good.

Best Indian I've had in Europe, worth the stop

I went to Golden Thali with my wife to get some tasty Indian food. I had seen very positive reviews about the restaurant and it did not let us down. The chicken biryani was excellent and so was the naan and kebabs. Service was friendly and attentive and we will definitely come again when we visit Amsterdam next.

Location is magnificent, has a terrace too, is family owned and has warm service. Food wise quality and signature dishes mastered. Lamb curry and butter chicken top. The tandoori grilling of the meats is quite good and tasty. And the naan for me is one of the best ones I've had; especially the garlic one. Gem of Amsterdam Zuid.

We had a wonderful dinner at Golden Thali in Amsterdam! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming ambiance set the tone for a great evening. The food was absolutely delicious — full of rich, authentic Indian flavors. We especially loved the Chicken Jalfrezi, Tandoori mix naan & Paneer mattar masala. We have visited Golden Thali many times and tries almost all the dishes all are really very tasty and best thing is that they make according to your taste, Food quality & Quantity is also good. The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made sure we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. It’s clear they care about both the quality of their food and the experience of their guests. Highly recommend Golden Thali to anyone looking for flavorful Indian cuisine in Amsterdam. We'll definitely be back!

We ordered paneer chilli and momos for starters, and paneer lababdar with garlic naan for main dish. The main dish was good but the paneer chilli was mediocre. The place itself was cosy and the service was good.
