Grand Bistro de Rotonde in Wijk 02 Vorden

We cycled past here and stopped for lunch. The pancakes were delicious. The service was friendly and we were helped quickly. Therefore, we decided to return later for dinner. See the next review.

I'm rating it between 3 and 4 stars. The food is generally fine, but for vegetarians, there's very little choice. I was there with family, and meat eaters can eat just fine. A tip for the restaurant is to offer more vegetarian options. It was also very busy, which was noticeable in the staff, who seemed a bit preoccupied. Drinks all arrived late and not at the same time. It all felt very chaotic.

There were 15 people and we enjoyed delicious food and good service, highly recommended.

My husband had a farmer's omelet, which looked delicious and, according to him, tasted just as good. I had a meat platter with a croquette and bread. It came with an olive roll, a slice of white bread, and a slice of brown bread. I had the white bread, and the others were thrown away, such a waste. They can't ask what you want on the side. Otherwise, the food and service were perfect.

Delicious food!! Super fast, friendly service; they don't make you feel like you have to leave quickly.

When we arrived for dinner we were almost forced to order a drink straight away. When we wanted to wait with that, that was not really appreciated. If you don't want to drink anything or if we wanted bread with a spread beforehand, No! We want to see the menu first and then decide (how hard can it be?!). That 'no thank you, we want to see the menu first' was also answered kindly, but very urgently with "if you have any questions...". The tone was rather reproachful and did not really sound non-committal. Let us just take a look at the menu! Then we will pick something tasty and choose a matching drink, wine or soft drink.

Xxl schnitzel and gordon bleu very big. Sufficient/good taste. Bread basket fine. Seats in sun and shade. Long waiting time when busy. Not cheap.

Always good food and friendly service. It's especially nice that you can choose from a partial or swap menu. Slightly smaller portion. But enough.

Lovely restaurant near the church in Vorden. It has a charming atmosphere. Excellent cappuccino, and the hot chocolate with whipped cream is also delicious. Friendly staff. It's a regular stop when we do a gravel ride to Vorden.

Update January 2025: Enjoyed an excellent lunch! A "plank" for two: well filled and tasty. Then a coffee with homemade apple strudel. That was a great choice! Experience 2018: Pleasant service and good quality food. Fast service and friendly. The price/quality ratio is a bit out of balance in our opinion.

We had a very nice evening here. Very friendly and excellent service. Food was fine! It's nice that you can choose between a normal and small portion. I will definitely come back here.

Hier vandaag gegeten met mijn man. Voorgerecht heerlijk. Hoofdgerecht mijn man had het menu van de dag varkenshaasmedaillons die waren niet erg mals viel tegen. Ik had een spies met tournedos erg lekker. Rauwkostsalade top!

5 stars!. Beautiful informal ambiance. Delicious food, plenty of it. We took the whole portions (this was our first time here) but you can easily take the portion portions. the hospitality radiates and the service is top notch. Definitely recommended if you are in Vorden to eat here (reservations are necessary, I think)

We had a nice meal here with our team. On a Tuesday evening, almost all tables on the ground floor were occupied. Service was quick with drinks, food took a while but was well prepared. Recommended.

Delicious food in an attractive restaurant. Service was pleasant, although some knowledge about products was lacking. And very nice: you can also get dishes in half portions. But definitely worth repeating.

Even gezellig wat eten in Vorden werd minder gezellig wanneer de rekening. Bij het hoofdgerecht kregen we veel te natte smakeloze groenten en watersaus en erg droge aardappels. (Voor ons was er geen keus tussen aardappels en friet). De saus bij de schnitzel was watersoep (uit een pakje) met een champignon. Vreemd dat noch een kok noch een gastheer ziet dat de saus veel te dun is. Dit zegt al iets over het enthousiasme en betrokkenheid van de medewerkers. Na een opmerking kregen we dikkere saus, snel aangedikt met extra sauspoeder uit een pakje. Niet lekker dus. Tussentijds werd ons gevraagd of er nog iets nageserveerd kon worden. We vroegen om wat extra frietjes, de aardappels kregen we niet weg, zo droog. Bij het afrekenen stond de friet met mayonaise als extra vermeld. Wat blijkt, volgens de meneer die zich bedrijfsleider voelt, je mag een keer kiezen bij het bestellen, friet of aardappels. Het supplement moet vervolgens hetzelfde zijn......... anders gaat de meter verder oplopen. Ons was overigens niets gevraagd bij het bestellen en ook op de menukaart staat nergens vermeld wat er bij het hoofdgerecht geserveerd wordt. Voor de prijzen op de kaart mag er zeker souplesse zijn naar de gasten toe en een normaal servet. Bij overige zaken is de servet bij bitterballen nog dikker. Voor ons nooit meer naar De Rotonde.

Cozy place in Vorden for food and drinks. We just had a drink on the terrace outside on a Tuesday evening. We were already close to closing time, but the staff did their best to give us every service possible; respect!

Had lunch; a delicious, varied and surprising fish lunch platter. Several types of bread and a delicious soup. A home made shrimp croquet that was very good. Portion is good. My partner's farmer's omelet was very tasty, according to him. Nice terrace and service is fast and smooth. Great tent.

I thought it was a special concept with the sharing dishes. I was on my own and went for the asparagus dish. That was well prepared and tasty. I asked for a glass of water next to my gin and tonic and that was not possible. I could only get spa blue. Very lame considering that people who ordered a bottle of wine received it. Every restaurant in the Netherlands is obliged to offer a glass of water when requested. Reason for me not to come there anymore.

Heerlijk gegeten met vrienden lekker op het verwarmde terras. Bij de afgesproken aankomst was er geen tafel vrij. Werden we eerst op het terras gezet tot dat er een tafel vrij zou zijn. Maar het was zo lekker op het terras dat we gevraagd hebben of we daar konden eten. Geen probleem en heerlijke relaxte man in de bediening met super mooie snor. Lekker gegeten en goed bediend. Zeker de moeite waard om hier wat te eten

Zonder te reserveren gemeld en plekje gekregen. rustig mogen kiezen uit de (voor)gerechten. Je kan hier ook kiezen voor seniorengerechten dat voldoende is voor de niet grote eters onder ons en de grote honger zelfs xxl maaltijden, was super bereid en smaakvol bediening was goed! Zeker een aanrader!!!

Echt stom wanneer je moet betalen voor een glaasje kraanwater! Zakelijk gezien ook niet handig want wij komen hier niet meer terug. Tosti was overigens gortdroog dus dat glaasje water was welkom geweest....

Well it was very disappointing. Even got lays with my gamba, don't know the idea behind it. But you should know if you come for the first time that you have to order multiple dishes, otherwise you get very little for that amount. It would be better to go to the Mediterranean, they will fill your plate for the same price and it will also be super tasty.

We hebben hier geluncht op een zonnige zaterdag. Gezellig terras met hele vlotte, vriendelijke bediening. Het eten viel ons erg tegen. Ik had gekozen voor een omelet met bruin brood. De omelet was redelijk van smaak, niets bijzonders. Hierbij werden drie, droge, lichtbruine boterhammen geserveerd die ikzelf nooit aan gasten zou durven presenteren. Het zag er niet aantrekkelijk uit. De foccatia van mijn man was niet echt knapperig en heel simpel belegd met zalm. Het vriendelijke personeel zou onze opmerking doorgeven aan de keuken. We konden wel zonder problemen betalen met de restaurantcadeaubon.

Fijn dat je keuze hebt in een proeverij bij de voorgerechten en de nagerechten. Vriendelijk personeel. Goede service. Eten was erg lekker.

We hebben hier heerlijk gegeten een aanrader.

Wachten op een tafel duurde lang, ze waren vooral bezig met het puzzelen/schuiven voor alle reserveringen die ze hadden, geen oog op dat moment voor gasten. Hoofdgerecht was prima, nagerecht (ijs) duurde lang voordat het kwam. Dus bij serveren kregen we een milkshake. Aangegeven bij medewerkster, werd verder niks mee gedaan.

Op de kaart stond dat je ook een kleine maaltijdsalade kon bestellen. Maar nee, het kon toch niet. Dan nemen we 1 grote, maar graag verdeeld over 2 borden. Nee, dat kan niet. Dan geef maar 1 leeg bord er bij. Dus wij 80+ knoeien met het doormidden snijden van de salade. NB. Bij het Meestershuis kan dit wel ! Maar zij waren niet open gisteren.
