On the evening we were there, we enjoyed sitting outside with very attentive service. We also have great appreciation for the cuisine.

Cozy but busy restaurant🤩, dirty tables, food was bad🤢. I had a chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. First of all, the schnitzel is tasteless and not breaded, but deep-fried with a sauce just like battered fish. The mushroom sauce was just a sauce with herbs without mushrooms🫪😤. Shame on you😡🤬. The salad was amazing, the beef salad was rubbish and just dumped on my plate😳. Communication regarding food allergies needs to be much better. Bad, very bad😡🤯.

Had coffee and tea and ate two pastries. Delicious. A beautiful and cozy restaurant. Professional and friendly service. They have a beautiful and large terrace, but it is also perfectly fine to sit inside.

Unfortunately, we didn't eat here because the reservation was not honored by De Rotonde. We had made a reservation because we wanted to eat here with my 88-year-old father. When making the reservation, we asked if we could sit outside, but also if we could still sit inside in the event that it turned out to be too chilly in the evening. No problem, we would get a table by the heater, and if we found it too cold, we could get a table on the ground floor. I had indicated that I did not want to sit on the first floor under the air conditioning. I had sat there with another group a few months ago, and you get blown away when the air conditioning is on. So it was very nice that we were offered a table on the ground floor. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there was no table reserved for us under the heater. We could sit outside, but that was a spot we found too cold. We chose to sit inside after all. However, there was no room for us there. I think it was the owner who indicated that we should have just made a choice: inside or outside. We explained how the reservation had gone, but she wasn't interested. Another employee, a very nice man with a fine mustache, indicated that there was still a table available upstairs; we checked briefly but declined. Sitting at a table of eight with just the three of us isn't exactly cozy. But he really tried to be helpful. The lady could take a leaf out of his book. It might be useful to instruct the staff not to promise customers that they can choose whether to sit inside or outside. Because it is usually quite busy there, they apparently feel entitled to fob customers off. So, no pleasant evening meal for us at De Rotonde.

Strawberry tart as the daily special... then in early June I expect fresh strawberries and not canned strawberries 😕 and then the waitress's surprise... oh, weren't they fresh😂

Tonight, the spontaneous idea arose to go out for dinner together. Shall we go eat at Rotonde in Vorden again? We’ve had some disappointments there in the past, though that was always handled well. A friendly person on the phone indicated that we were welcome around 6:15 PM. Upon arrival, we were shown to our table. A very friendly lady welcomed us, handed us the dinner menus, and explained a few things. The starters were very tasty: the pork belly and the asparagus in panko with salmon. Accompanied by a glass of white wine and a glass of red wine. The main course arrived quite quickly; it looked delicious. My husband had already asked for a second glass of red wine. However, that didn't come... when I inquired, the waitress said, "Yes, I saw it there..." while the staff were chatting pleasantly around the bar (I almost got up to get that glass of red wine myself, but I thought that was a bit too much), and when our main courses were almost finished, that 2nd glass of red wine arrived; I wanted to finish my last sip of white wine, but my glass had already been taken away!! How bizarre! The lady asked us if we were finished eating and if we had enjoyed it. The meat was delicious! I indicated that as well. We didn't like the side dishes, except for the cauliflower. The potatoes looked deliciously fried, but were piping hot inside; I had to take a sip of water to cool my mouth... Anyway, after the friendly lady had cleared everything, I went to pay the bill. With her, no feedback whatsoever, no apology; she did ask who had taken the glass of wine away, but I didn't see it... Moral of the story: Tasty piece of meat! Very friendly lady. Service poor. For us, this is truly the last time we ate at Rotonde. 100 euros and an illusion poorer....

Today, Saturday, June 6th, we had a reservation at Restaurant de Rotonde with 4 people, and imagine our surprise?? What an experience (old-fashioned cozy), a great atmosphere, and super good food. And there was more than enough. Compliments to the kitchen, but for us, it was a delight/a treat to have hostess Marlene at the table. What passion, knowledge, and above all love for her work (a score of 10 does her a disservice). This makes us happy. We would love to come back here again. Marco, Petra, Marian, and Peter

Cozy restaurant with a large terrace. Extensive menu with the option to order sharing menus, which are smaller portions for those of us with smaller appetites. It was very busy and unfortunately the service between the main course and the side dishes was not entirely synchronized, so we had already finished the main course 10 minutes after the rest arrived. This was made up for with an extra aperitif with the coffee. 👍🏻

Went out for dinner with our neighbors. It was busy, but cozy. Plenty of (friendly) staff. Didn't have to wait long, no pushy staff, and fantastic food. Everything is prepared with care. A pleasant surprise. Enjoyed it very much and it is worth repeating. Highly recommended!

Cozy atmosphere, tasty sandwiches, friendly service.

We had lunch here. We went for the authentic, original Austrian schnitzel. Real meat with a good crust, just as it should be. Eating here is a truly special experience. This restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere. And not only that, the service is knowledgeable, helpful, and above all, friendly. The fun part is that you can hear the schnitzels being flattened in the kitchen—lovely! Another great feature is that they offer a senior counter, a great idea. Even a big eater can eat here; see the photo and share. The restrooms are on the first floor and are very well-maintained and clean. Parking is available nearby, but you'll need a bit of luck. I'll definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend De Rotonde to everyone. Absolutely fantastic! Please like my review if you like it.

Look, they get it here. Decent side dishes, just the way they should be. Vegetables, salad, apple salad. Extra fries. A good piece of meat. Coffee with a bonbon, chocolate, and an Amaretto. I'd almost given up on the restaurant business, but there's still hope. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

We celebrated our 12.5-year wedding anniversary there with a buffet for 32 people. The food was delicious, and we were able to vary the dishes. The food was refilled promptly, and our drinks were taken care of promptly. We look back on this day with fond memories. I would definitely recommend De Rotonde if you're looking for a small, cozy venue. Thank you to everyone who made it a fantastic day for us.

We dutifully reserved online a week in advance. The food was fine again, but... First, we were told that we would get a table upstairs. However, it turned out our table upstairs was already occupied. So we stood there looking a bit lost until we were informed that the reservation had been switched and we were getting a table downstairs. We were happy, because there was a large group of screaming children upstairs, meaning that due to the poor acoustics in the restaurant, you couldn't understand each other at all. Just as we were finally sitting comfortably downstairs looking at the menu, the owner approached us reproachfully. She asked how it was possible that we were sitting there, because other people were supposed to sit there. So we had to explain to her why her staff had moved us. She then went to consult with others, and we were ordered to move upstairs AGAIN, so that the other group of 4 people could sit there. Whether it was favoritism, I have no idea!? The 2 stars for the service are therefore for the staff, who apologized for this inappropriate behavior.

The atmosphere was good, the food was tasty. Although I found the goat cheese with the salmon less successful. The strained yogurt with stewed pear with dessert was truly delicious. It was very noisy inside, and as a result, we could barely hear each other at the table. We had to talk loudly. At the beginning, we were asked quite often if we wanted something to drink, but then not for a while. That was a shame.

Cozy atmosphere and great food...!! Perhaps arrange the large bookcase a tad more atmospherically....

My husband and I had reserved a high wine, and we can only say that we thoroughly enjoyed this relaxed tasting for several hours, because that is exactly what it was! The welcome, the wines paired with the various dishes, the explanations, the super friendly service, and the entire atmosphere of this grand cafe. A lovely experience in every respect; highly recommended if you want to dine differently than with an à la carte menu.

Just sat on the terrace for a quick coffee. We chose the Austrian fruitcake to go with it. Well, that is highly recommended, incredibly delicious. Pleasantly surprised! And then the waiter is a handsome young man with a nice beard, but above all, a very nice curly mustache. 👌

If only we could write such a positive review as others... Finally, after about half an hour, our sorbet, after an observant waiter had alerted the chef. He had forgotten us / our order. "Can I pay?" "I'll be right with you." Fifteen minutes later, after settling the bill and serving others, the waitress asked: "Is there anything else I can do for you?" After reminding her of the "I'll be right with you," she responded with "I had other things to do" and, in a no-nagging tone, "I'm here now, aren't I?" Finally, after insistence, she spoke the truth: "I forgot about you... apologies." There is still a lesson to be learned here regarding the customer as king, concerning memory *and* the open card (not the menu)!

I would rate it between 3 and 4 stars. The food is fine in itself, but there is very little choice for a vegetarian. I was here with family, and meat eaters can eat well here. A tip for the restaurant: offer a bit more vegetarian options. Furthermore, it was very busy, which was noticeable in the staff, who seemed a bit stressed. Drinks all arrived late and not at the same time. It all came across as very disorganized.

My husband had a farmer's omelet, which looked delicious and, according to him, tasted just as good. I had a meat platter with a croquette and bread. It came with an olive roll, a slice of white bread, and a slice of brown bread. I had the white bread, and the others were thrown away, such a waste. They can't ask what you want on the side. Otherwise, the food and service were perfect.

There were 15 people and we enjoyed delicious food and good service, highly recommended.

When we arrived for dinner we were almost forced to order a drink straight away. When we wanted to wait with that, that was not really appreciated. If you don't want to drink anything or if we wanted bread with a spread beforehand, No! We want to see the menu first and then decide (how hard can it be?!). That 'no thank you, we want to see the menu first' was also answered kindly, but very urgently with "if you have any questions...". The tone was rather reproachful and did not really sound non-committal. Let us just take a look at the menu! Then we will pick something tasty and choose a matching drink, wine or soft drink.

Lovely restaurant near the church in Vorden. It has a charming atmosphere. Excellent cappuccino, and the hot chocolate with whipped cream is also delicious. Friendly staff. It's a regular stop when we do a gravel ride to Vorden.

Update January 2025: Enjoyed an excellent lunch! A "plank" for two: well filled and tasty. Then a coffee with homemade apple strudel. That was a great choice! Experience 2018: Pleasant service and good quality food. Fast service and friendly. The price/quality ratio is a bit out of balance in our opinion.

We had a very nice evening here. Very friendly and excellent service. Food was fine! It's nice that you can choose between a normal and small portion. I will definitely come back here.

5 stars!. Beautiful informal ambiance. Delicious food, plenty of it. We took the whole portions (this was our first time here) but you can easily take the portion portions. the hospitality radiates and the service is top notch. Definitely recommended if you are in Vorden to eat here (reservations are necessary, I think)

It couldn't be better... everything was great... Willing to drive a bit for this location...

Even gezellig wat eten in Vorden werd minder gezellig wanneer de rekening. Bij het hoofdgerecht kregen we veel te natte smakeloze groenten en watersaus en erg droge aardappels. (Voor ons was er geen keus tussen aardappels en friet). De saus bij de schnitzel was watersoep (uit een pakje) met een champignon. Vreemd dat noch een kok noch een gastheer ziet dat de saus veel te dun is. Dit zegt al iets over het enthousiasme en betrokkenheid van de medewerkers. Na een opmerking kregen we dikkere saus, snel aangedikt met extra sauspoeder uit een pakje. Niet lekker dus. Tussentijds werd ons gevraagd of er nog iets nageserveerd kon worden. We vroegen om wat extra frietjes, de aardappels kregen we niet weg, zo droog. Bij het afrekenen stond de friet met mayonaise als extra vermeld. Wat blijkt, volgens de meneer die zich bedrijfsleider voelt, je mag een keer kiezen bij het bestellen, friet of aardappels. Het supplement moet vervolgens hetzelfde zijn......... anders gaat de meter verder oplopen. Ons was overigens niets gevraagd bij het bestellen en ook op de menukaart staat nergens vermeld wat er bij het hoofdgerecht geserveerd wordt. Voor de prijzen op de kaart mag er zeker souplesse zijn naar de gasten toe en een normaal servet. Bij overige zaken is de servet bij bitterballen nog dikker. Voor ons nooit meer naar De Rotonde.

Had lunch; a delicious, varied and surprising fish lunch platter. Several types of bread and a delicious soup. A home made shrimp croquet that was very good. Portion is good. My partner's farmer's omelet was very tasty, according to him. Nice terrace and service is fast and smooth. Great tent.
