Hotél-Café-Rest. Leemreis in Wijk 00 Hengelo

Good morning, everything went well and I slept well.

It was like stepping into 1970. It reeked of old cigarette smoke. The hotel room was fine if you brought a vacuum cleaner and a mop. The shower wasn't clean. And you had to climb out of bed. The floor was covered in a layer of dust. The same on the nightstands. Dirty spots everywhere. Breakfast was terrible! But the host was a nice man! Vintage style is fine, but it has to be clean!

We stayed there for 3 nights. Guys, the website said there was a restaurant, but that turned out not to be the case anymore. Our room was large, but that is about all there is to say. It lacked atmosphere. There was a balcony attached to the room, but there was no furniture on it. The bathroom had a shower, but no shower mat, no hairdryer, or makeup mirror. There was a musty smell in the hallway due to the carpets, and the stairwell was very dusty. The breakfast was very meager indeed. A fried egg with a dried yolk, 4 portions of jam, a few slices of cheese and ham. 2 sandwiches from the supermarket and 4 slices of dark bread from the same supermarket. One day we got a currant bun instead of a sandwich. No yogurt. Fruit, chocolate spread..... Still, there are also plus points: the only staff we saw was a man who was friendly, we could safely store our bikes inside, and we only paid 90 euros per night for 2 people....

Cozy, homey, community center feel, feeling like you're getting a string from the mailbox. A great place.

Very friendly service and good coffee. Open on a day when the whole village seemed closed.

Excellent location, more than enough food. The owner is a nice guy, has a friendly atmosphere... only the wake-up call could have been a bit less noisy.

Small-scale hotel, with neat, spacious rooms. You can't have dinner there, but the breakfast is fine.

We had a nice and cozy game of billiards there
