Goat cheese sandwich with honey and apple. And a brie and ham sandwich. Fresh and delicious.

A delicious breakfast with jam, cheese, tomato wedges, ham, salami, and butter. The fresh (warm!) bread from the local bakery is especially delicious!

Very nice little Café, the coffee is extremely good and also the food (breakfast and brunch) was very enjoyable! Staff was extremely nice and friendly! We will come again!

A dirty chai latte for 7.50 is ridiculous! We're not in Amsterdam. Never order it again. The price is 7.95, I was mistaken... I would add spices from a container; they're also very tasty, and then the price could be lowered. I can afford it better.

We've been coming here for almost 10 years, but the quality is starting to decline. It's still a nice place, and dogs are welcome, but will I come back again? I don't know. One thing definitely needs to improve: the wine is absolutely undrinkable.

Friendly and welcoming staff and delicious food. I'm a regular in Callantsoog and will definitely eat here again.

We had an amazing breakfast at Grand Café de Foyer. One of us had the classic breakfast with fried eggs, bread, cold cuts and homemade jam and the other had the granola bowl with fresh fruit and Greek yogurt. Both were delicious! The homemade granola and jam especially stood out and gave everything a really personal, thoughtful touch. The atmosphere in the café is very cozy, with different seating levels, warm lighting and tasteful decor. It feels relaxed and welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. In the summer, you can also enjoy your food on the patio, overlooking Callantsoog town square. It’s a wonderful place to start the day in Callantsoog. We’ll definitely come back!

The food was delicious. The spareribs were delicious, as were the fries.

Ordered a small but sufficient breakfast (€10) with coffee, everything was excellent. Very friendly. Visiting with a dog was no problem. Thank you.

We waited 35 minutes despite ordering twice, and were ignored. Three tables that were occupied after us were served. Good service staff are in short supply in the Netherlands, too!

Update 10/4/25: Of course, a visit to Café "Le Foyer" was also planned for this vacation in Callantsoog. Nothing has changed: Very clean and bright café, enthusiastic and very friendly staff, and an absolutely delicious breakfast. The prices are moderate. ..................... A quaint, cozy café with the option of hot meals for lunch and dinner. Large selection of breakfast options, plentiful and delicious. A separate menu is available for lunch and dinner. The service is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!!👍

We ate our first mussels here this year – fresh, delicious, and simply a delight! Thank you for the warm hospitality, we would love to come back.

We have breakfast here on every short break, and it's always delicious. The service is always super friendly and quick.

The young waitress was obviously either not interested in us or simply not at his job. No greeting, annoyed looks because we wanted a drink at 9 p.m. We've experienced this twice. Today we got up and left. We won't be back.

Anyone who wants a cocktail an hour before closing time can expect eye-rolling and annoyed glances at the clock. The same scenario happened during the day (10 minutes before dinner time) when we asked for the menu. Apparently, they no longer feel the need to be friendly to guests if you're going to spend a lot of money there. It's a shame; we left both times; we felt very unwelcome.

We regularly enjoy a wonderfully relaxed lunch here. Delicious lunch dishes and friendly, hospitable service. The comfortable seating quickly immerses you in that holiday atmosphere.

The waffles are highly recommended. Everything was very tasty. The service was also very friendly.

The cheesecake doesn't taste as good as it used to. We regularly go to the "Foyer" for coffee and cheesecake. The recipe seems to have changed. It now tastes more like a quark cake, but no longer like an original cheesecake. It's a shame, but I hope it will change again. Hence my review. Otherwise, I highly recommend the "Foyer."

Prices OK Coffee OK My wife and I didn't like the apple pie at all. We love Dutch apple pie, and this one was even worse than the one we get in Germany. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Not moist at all. Rather dry and lacking in flavor. It was almost impossible to eat without cream.

Our regular café on every Callantsoog vacation. The latte macchiato is delicious, and a special highlight is the glass of whipped cream and caramel that always comes with it. The service is very attentive and friendly. It's a shame our vacation is already over.

Warning!!! They serve you alcohol without knowing it! I ordered a coffee with "syrup," and instead of syrup, they served me liqueur. Luckily, my husband noticed in time. I was sitting there breastfeeding my child, but they should have at least pointed out that it wasn't syrup, but alcohol!!! A disgrace. I've been ordering coffee with syrup for years and have never received alcohol. That's completely unacceptable!! Edit: To the owner: Your waitress told us it was alcohol when we asked. We actually asked again after we were unsure.

Wonderful Grand Café I came here after the beach walk during the six-day beach event. You get a foot bath, towel, and socks. Also, a great atmosphere, top location.

We stopped by for breakfast after a short night's sleep after our arrival, as no other place was open yet. We ordered specialty coffees and Uitsmijter Met ham & Kaas (a smoky, smoky, and smoky cheese). We were also served coffee cream with whipped cream in a shot glass (delicious). The food arrived very quickly and filled us up nicely. You can sit comfortably outside, and it's also very nice inside.

The mussels and burgers were perfect, and the appetizer, Gamba's Pille Pille, was very tasty, even though it was more like shrimp. We were able to get a seat outside, but the inside is also very nice. We found the service very friendly and attentive. We'd be happy to come back.

We spontaneously found a spot here and ordered the daily special: Apple Grumble and Iced Coffee. Both were delicious and perfectly reasonable at €14.

Good restaurant in touristic Callantsoog, tosti ham, brie and melted cheese you can't get better anywhere!! Perfect pan of mussels, no sand and spot-on cooked! Foyer is recommended.

Just came here for a short afternoon break. The drink and food were nice. Baby friendly🥰 when my one year old girl started to cry, the waitress just came and provided a baby glass smoothie for calming her down.🙏

The food is fine, but the service is a bit disappointing, an unfriendly young man, they don't make you feel welcome, the order is wrong, we have been coming here for years but we have never experienced it this bad, we are not giving up and will try another day, keep it up.

We were there for dinner. Ordered burger, soup of the day (onion soup) and garlic bread. Service was prompt and very friendly. The food was also brought quite quickly. Onion soup is unfortunately very over-seasoned (glutamate), the style with toast and cheese is reminiscent of French onion soup, but doesn't come close in terms of taste. Garlic bread consisted of halved rolls with a touch of garlic butter, unfortunately not crispy and hardly any garlic flavor. Hamburger served on a plate with a paper base, just a small bowl of fries with mayo and barbecue sauce on the side - at this price you would have expected at least a side salad. Burger patty was good. Buns but not toasted. Top with onions like in onion soup (dark brown and mushy). Overall a disappointing visit, value for money is not right here.

On Easter Sunday we went to De Foyer for breakfast. The food we received in relation to the money you paid for it was a disappointment. It took a long time before we could order food, so we ended up walking to the bar to ask if we could order something, but the girl behind the bar looked at me as if she saw water burning. Previous experiences at De Foyer were better, but we had the feeling that the girls in the service had no experience.

Cozy place, you have a spacious seat. Also nice terrace. Delicious menu with lots of choice. Delicious pastries, but dinner is also great! Nice staff. Smooth and neat operation. Coffee with cookies and a glass of whipped cream. Dogs are allowed inside.

Nice place to warm up with a cup of coffee after a walk on the beach. Once again a free liqueur with whipped cream and a cookie. The service is also great, they walk back and forth continuously. Next time again, hopefully on the terrace.

We went to the Grand Cafe today for the third time in 10 days. The food was always excellent and the service was never objectionable. We'll definitely be back.

Überaus gemütliches Cafe mit der Möglichkeit , neben einem Frühstück auch zum Mittagstisch und Abendessen. Die Speise- Auswahl ist gut und die Preise sind akzeptabel. Ganz frisches Brot (2 Sorten) und eine Wurst-Käse-Marmeladen-Platte sowie ein Spiegelei zum Frühstück sind mehr aus ausreichend. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

The food was freshly prepared and very tasty - but that was it: We were apparently the last guests at 7 p.m.... the older waitress was quite unmotivated and short. Unfortunately the cutlery was stained - not just water stains... even polishing it with a napkin was unsuccessful😝 I preferred to eat with my hands... While we were still eating, people were already sweeping and mopping - we didn't feel welcome.

My wife visited De Foyer last Monday evening with our 10-year-old daughter to have a nice meal together. My wife ordered a Mexican bean soup asking if it was meatless as she is vegetarian. She was assured of that. After two bites of the soup it turned out that there was meat in it and not a little. The soup was exchanged for a tomato soup but no apology was given. Fortunately, our daughter's celiac disease was handled very carefully.

The waffles were just like the simple sugar waffles from Lidl and were covered in a much too sweet cherry syrup. And there were too many cherries to be tasty.

We had warm waffle with cherries and whipped cream.....well that's supposed to be delicious. 🤢. We got two small waffles soaked in a syrup that was way too sweet and with too many cherries. It made me feel sick. ......Not nice.

A child-friendly restaurant/café where you'll be happy to linger a little longer. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, everything seems relaxed and inviting. A really nice evening (with children! ;))

2x bij de Foyer gegeten. De 1e keer fish (kabeljauw) & chips en aangezien de 2e x de fish al op was hebben we van de dinerkaart gegeten. Het eten op zich lekker, de kabeljauw in serranoham goed Al was de ham taai maar niet krokant. Het groentepannetje erbij was ook erg lekker. De gevulde kip was ook smaakvol maar 2 *kleine* stukjes vond ik wat karig. Al met al met de groente en patat was het voldoende. Ook de prijs van een glas wijn 6.95 is erg prijzig. Verder vriendelijk personeel dus evengoed wel een aanrader!

Had a glass of wine on Sunday, they immediately poured the most expensive one, and didn't ask for anything else. The waitress, a colorless woman, who we don't think can talk. Bitterballen ordered were blackened and inedible, as hard as a ping pong ball. We were here for a sample, we brought balls. Our experience is bad.

Many thanks to the cheerful ladies from the service on this wonderfully sunny autumn day. We were able to sit outside and enjoyed the delicious waffles, the hot cocoa and the cappuccino with the cream jar twice as much. We always enjoy coming here.

The sea bass was finished as a catch of the day. Should we come back again? The alternative to this was very tasty.

We took a break with coffee and latte machiatto. The staff is very friendly and nice and the atmosphere is inviting.

Unfortunately we can't rate the food because it didn't happen. We sat down with our dog in the outdoor lighting and everyone who came after us had their order taken, but not us. So we left the restaurant after 15 minutes.

During our mini-holiday in Callantsoog, we had mussels and fries in this wonderfully atmospheric grand cafe. It was delicious and what we saw passing by at other tables also looked good.

Ooit een restaurant met lekker eten en normale porties, nu krijg je de helft en betaal je veel meer. Toast met paling bestond een paar jaar geleden uit 2 x toast, nu de helft met amper paling erop. Fish and chips: de vis is een driehoekje geworden, daar is een deel van afgesneden, patat, een minuscuul verpieterde salade en amper mayonaise. Vraag je om extra mayonaise, dan vind je die in dezelfde geringe hoeveelheid terug voor een euro extra op de rekening. Ook de drankjes zijn duur. En het personeel is niet aardig. Wij kwamen hier regelmatig, maar dat is afgelopen!

Here you have to say that you have to be lucky with the staff. There are some who are extremely friendly and accommodating, but then there are some (especially among the younger service staff) who create a kind of disco atmosphere in this coffee. Sing and tap with cutlery to the rhythm of the music. On the other hand, we met exactly the aforementioned (friendly & courteous) staff. So take a picture yourself.
