Linke Loetje in Schagen (woonkern-Midden)

Cozy little place. It's actually quite large, but the decor still feels intimate. The food is okay. The service is excellent.

Well, we didn't even get around to dinner. We'd made a reservation over a week in advance because of a special occasion, and even called a day before to confirm. Upon arrival, 5 minutes early, there was no table available. No problem, we're early anyway. We then had to wait on the outdoor terrace, in the smoking area. We ordered drinks, and the lemonade was poured into wine glasses without ice, which was strange, but okay. Bread was offered, but we wanted to eat it at the table, not outside on the terrace among the smokers with our coats on. After 20 minutes, I asked to pay for the drinks because there was no view of the table. We did get it on the house, but the hostess's tone and reaction—"Good luck finding something else"—was such that Linke Loetje doesn't even deserve a one-star review.

Well what can I say 🤔 Had never been there before... Upon entering, you experience the ambiance as a mixture of a living room and a kind of thrift store... Where the aim has been to create as much seating as possible per square meter and to ensure you of a so-called battle with your neighbor behind who, just like you, wants to sit comfortably at his or her table. Once seated, you are seated... The choice on the menu, well newspaper is fine, but price wise it quickly makes you forget the living room/thrift store ambiance, which has no connection (with the only exception of Rataplan 😉). The starter Duivels potje was fine, nothing to complain about, neither was the main course, the Smikkelstok... The so-called side dishes, well small round bowls and a container of fries (ceramic copy based on the plastic container) did raise the question whether this had to be shared with the other three table companions. This wasn't the case; more was easily ordered, no problem. I asked my question, and immediately followed it up with the suggestion to add a bowl of fried potatoes (which were phenomenal, by the way). Unfortunately, it never arrived. After waiting in vain for extra fried potatoes, and having shared the available bowl between the four of us (we each had three), I looked at my table companion next to me and thought, those extra fried potatoes are wasted on you. He was sitting so tightly against the table (the neighbor behind him apparently needed the space in the already cramped arrangement) that he couldn't have fit anything more in. Overall experience: crowded, little space, excellent preparation, small side dishes if you base it on one person, chaotic feeling when observing the service. I was fortunate enough to experience it and can join the club that can say I dined at Linke Loetje... My gut feeling tells me that's what it's all about. 😏 When I got home an hour later, I ordered another shawarma. You can never go to bed with an unsatisfied feeling in your stomach. 😊

Charming restaurant with authentic features throughout. We had a delicious Chateaubriand with plenty of side dishes. The service was excellent!

The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the enthusiastic staff makes you feel truly welcome. We had the Tomahawk, which was delicious! You'll definitely want to go back.

Never had such tasteless oven-baked mushrooms and lasagna. As a side dish, I had flavorless corn on the cob and a bowl of lettuce with a dollop of dressing. Disappointing.

This restaurant is highly recommended! Eetcafe Linke Loetje boasts a cozy and chic atmosphere. The service is friendly and prompt, and the newspaper-style menu is limited, but what you get exceeds your expectations. The portions are generous, the dishes are delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. In short, a perfect spot for a pleasant evening out. I'll definitely be back.

Voorgerecht top, hoofdgerecht (Argentijnse T-bone steak) super. Mijn vrouw had Fish & Chips waarbij de patatjes wat slap in het bakje lagen. Wel goed te eten hoor. Sfeer prima en het (jonge) bediendend personeel deed het echt uitstekend. Aanrader!

Jammer, Wij waren er met zijn vieren om wat te vieren. Gerechten smaakten bijna allemaal het zelfde. PATAT Was Ongelooflijk ZOUT. (Niet te doen misschien ook eens vragen wat de klant wil?) Ik ben gerust bereid te betalen voor eten, maar dan moet het ook lekker zijn.(tegenvaller) Ga aankomende tijd niet meer naar Linke Loetje. (De gerechten die ik heb geproefd die avond smaakten bijna het zelfde. Mijn vraag is Waarom.

The kitchen remains excellent. But if you get a waitress who's having an off day, there's no one to notice or tell you where to go. It's a shame. It ruins your party.

Fantastic food, well presented, we had a great dinner here. Wholeheartedly recommend the Gladjanus paling, Kreeftensoep (lobster), as well as the tuna steak and steaks. Comes with sides.

The food was basically solid, but it was my most expensive steak, but not the best. The sauces cost extra at €35, and the staff didn't ask about the doneness or any requests for salt or pepper. The staff were friendly, but we weren't even told to say goodbye. We were moved on to the next one... There's no drinks menu, and the menu doesn't reflect the prices. You can't complain about the ambiance; warm, inviting, and cozy best describes it. Unfortunately, the table was wobbly. A solid restaurant in itself, but not good enough for the prices they charge.

After years, the service has dipped. I've been coming here for over 20 years. I've always had delicious food, a nice atmosphere, and cheerful, informal, and good service. My last visit last week certainly lived up to the good food. But my companions and I felt ignored, unheard, and treated unfairly by the staff. After we pointed out that something was wrong with the receipt, we received it back with that correction, but also with a correction for the incorrect wine price, a 75-cent increase, and an extra bottle of water, which had been forgotten earlier. I don't care about the money at all. But as I mentioned earlier, if I come to you with a complaint, you resolve it politely and don't go out of your way to get your way. Then you have no heart for hospitality. Result: zero tip! And if you had simply deducted the beer and iced tea we hadn't had from the receipt, we would have tipped you between 20 and 25 euros. Even after having to ask for the menu and our drinks three times. I think it's stupid and not restaurant-worthy. I won't come back until the service is back on track. Too bad... But luckily there are many nice restaurants in North Holland.

The spareribs were on the dry side and quite neutral in taste. The wine was from Portugal and that made up for a lot

We ate here on 6th June...There were 7 of us and everyone of us enjoyed the experience so much. I started going there 25 years ago courtesy of friends and never been disappointed. First class restaurant😊

This has to be the best restaurant in Schagen. Boated twice on my 4 night stay as our 1st experience was exceptional and 2nd was just as exceptional. Forget the other restaurants listed above this as this had to be the greatest food, service and overall welcoming experience. I had pork tenderloin Bali And then the bullet steak both fantastic the sirloin ordered MR was cooked to perfection with loads of sides and jacket potato included in price. Cannot praise or comment enough on this friendly fantastic restaurant. The staff are so accommodating and owner / manager recognised us on 2nd visit which was lovely. Forget the overpriced sour staff at SOHO def choose here

Delicious food with extra flavour! Why are large wine glasses left on the table when no wine is being consumed??? What do you mean? And cola in a wine glass? Super stupid! Just clear another table when the guests are ready, this will be a lot more fun! This also applies to the items that remain on our table. Don't return to the kitchen empty-handed if you don't have to. Linke Loetje hobbles out the back! Shame! I'll just leave it at this!

Delicious food, of the 11 people there was 1 who found the salmon a bit dry. The rest ate something else and found everything delicious. Good and friendly service. All in all a top experience. Worth repeating.

It is a cheerful restaurant with something to see all around you. It is a bit cramped, but that is not disturbing. The food is usually delicious, but today the spare ribs were unfortunately full of chunks of fat. However, the dessert made up for a lot, because the white chocolate mousse is highly recommended. My friend had the fish and also said he had a delicious meal. Definitely worth coming for a meal sometime

Have been coming here for years, but the prices are very high. It remains a cozy tent. Casual, but we recently spent a little more in a restaurant with a star (!). What we really can't find are the side dishes. 4 people in a bowl, no larger than a small soup bowl, with potatoes. Two heads of chicory for 4 people and a small bowl of salad. The restaurant was packed so it probably doesn't matter, but we think it will be too expensive.

Informal atmosphere. Very friendly service. Pay close attention to what is happening or needed at the tables. A knife fell from our table. Before we knew it, the cutlery was changed. As a starter you get a bread board on the house. Delicious dishes. Worth repeating.😁🤩

We were looking forward to a pleasant evening at Linke Loetje in Schagen on the occasion of our wedding day, but unfortunately it was not the experience we had hoped for. Although the service was efficient and the children's dishes were fine, my main course – the tenderloin steak – was disappointing. It was served lukewarm, and after only two bites I had to send it back to the kitchen. When my steak finally came back, my wife had already finished her meal and the side dishes were now cold. What really made the experience disappointing was that my steak was significantly smaller than when I sent it to the kitchen. When I inquired about this, I received an evasive answer. When asking if everything was okay, I made my disappointment clear. Although the staff kindly offered a free dessert or coffee, by now my appetite had completely disappeared and we just wanted to leave. It's a shame, because this evening should have been a special celebration with my family. For a bill of €161.70 you expect a better experience. Unfortunately we didn't leave a tip. Hopefully they can improve on these points, because the potential is certainly there.

We hadden ons verheugd op een gezellige avond bij Linke Loetje in Schagen ter gelegenheid van onze trouwdag, maar helaas werd het niet de ervaring die we gehoopt hadden. Hoewel de service efficiënt was en de kindergerechten prima, was mijn hoofdgerecht – de ossenhaas biefstuk – teleurstellend. Het werd lauw geserveerd, en na slechts twee happen moest ik het terugsturen naar de keuken. Toen mijn biefstuk eindelijk terugkwam, had mijn vrouw haar maaltijd al helemaal op en waren de bijgerechten inmiddels koud. Wat de ervaring echt teleurstellend maakte, was dat mijn biefstuk aanzienlijk kleiner was dan toen ik hem naar de keuken stuurde. Toen ik hier navraag over deed, kreeg ik een ontwijkend antwoord. Bij het vragen of alles naar wens was, heb ik mijn teleurstelling duidelijk gemaakt. Hoewel het personeel vriendelijk een gratis dessert of koffie aanbood, was mijn eetlust inmiddels volledig verdwenen en wilden we gewoon weg. Het is jammer, want deze avond had een bijzondere viering moeten zijn met mijn gezin. Voor een rekening van €161,70 verwacht je toch een betere ervaring. We hebben helaas geen fooi achtergelaten. Hopelijk kunnen ze deze punten verbeteren, want het potentieel is er zeker.

You can eat here and sit comfortably. However, the service could still be improved. When we arrived we had to wait quite a while for someone to come, we also had to ask several times for the menu. 2 of us ordered steak and were not asked how we wanted it. By the time we got the menu for dessert, we were quite full but wanted to share 2 things including some kind of coffee-liqueur milkshake. We wanted one with 3 straws, but then got a whole jug that was enough for 6(!) glasses. Of course we didn't get this, but we did get an extra ~30 euros on the bill. A bit of a shame, otherwise we had a nice evening!

We visited this restaurant with 6 people, it was a busy evening. The table we had was at the very back and this was fine for us. The food tasted good, the only downside was the steak tartare. The taste was good, but the meat was not cut properly, there were many large pieces. We were unable to speak to someone from the wait staff about this because there was no one around while we were eating the starter. This was said when the signs were removed, but unfortunately nothing was done about it. Also during the main course I'm used to them asking if everything is to your liking, but I didn't see anyone. I got my own pepper from another table. It really tasted good, old-fashioned food of good quality, but the service can and should really be improved. This will prevent me from eating here again, too bad!

Fantastic, I can't say anything else! From decor to atmosphere, from menu to quality of food: everything is just GOOD. The cheese fondue is incredibly tasty, a real favorite here. Eating here is really a treat!!

This is a super nice restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food. We sat in a spot where another table was close to it, which we didn't like as much. The restaurant is very full, but that is understandable because the food was super tasty. Highly recommended!

Delicious food! Risotto croquettes in advance, onion soup was well filled and seasoned, carpaccio was on average a little too much pesto. Spare ribs, pork tenderloin bali and smikkelstick were all tasty. Service was very friendly and fast. The only thing that was less, I would say, was the ambiance very full and cramped and the music could be a bit quieter, but I would definitely eat there again!

Enjoyed it wonderfully with the 2 of us. Food is delicious and fast. Ambience is and remains special!

Both the meat and the fried potatoes were very salty and the fried spring rolls were very greasy, but the chicken skewers were nothing special. The place where we were placed was not nice, everything going to the toilet and kitchen and new guests walk a few centimeters past your table, which does not give the impression of pleasant dining. I won't be coming there again anytime soon.

Unfriendly and arrogant staff. Completely overcooked baked potato, doneness ignored on steak. Regular guests are treated excessively personally, strangers like us are more of a nuisance and still leave a lot of money for mediocre quality.

Heerlijk gegeten hoor, sfeer etc ook prima. Maar begint wel echt heel duur te worden. 140 euro voor 2 personen uiteten (zonder nagerecht). Het zal allemaal wel, maar uiteten lijkt wel steeds meer iets voor de elite te worden. Hiermee gaat de horeca uiteindelijk zijn hand verspelen.

Niet een strak restaurant maar juist een heel bonte inrichting, leuk gedaan. We waren er vrijdag, reserveren is wel nodig. Het eten was goed, voorgerechten prima. We hadden biefstuk, lamsrack en chateaubriand, wow echt goed bereid op de grill, heerlijk vlees. Gepofte aardappel en een beetje groente, ook goed en niet zo veel. De zelfgemaakte "bitterbal" bij het hoofdgerecht was echt heel lekker. Vlees met ballen lijkt mij een prima aanvulling op de kaart. Voor de nagerechten hadden we geen ruimte meer. Oh ja, genoeg keuze op de wijnkaart. De rekening viel mee, zeker een goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding.

Op een rustige doordeweekse avond hier gegeten om een kadobon in te wisselen. Aan het eten (zuppa di pomodori, haasbiefstuk en dame blanche) ligt het niet, en sympathiek dat het broodje vooraf 'van het huis' is. Maar om vervolgens 3,50 p.p. te vragen voor een bakje pepersaus bij de biefstuk...? Verder kwam het personeel niet echt vriendelijk over; ik had het idee dat ze er niet echt zin in hadden die avond.
