Grand Café Lido in De Weteringschans

A superb spot on the canal! We ate inside; it's beautiful, cozy, and very pleasant. The welcome and service were perfect, very warm! The menu is excellent, although a little pricey. And it's right in the center... And it's a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding mediocre restaurants! A moment of calm guaranteed!

A cafe by the canal, just across from the Vondelpark exit. We stopped by for breakfast after a walk in Vondelpark. Everything was delicious, and the portions were ample. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant.

We stopped by for a quick drink while travelling inside the city and it proved to be a great place to do that as you get to relax by the canal. The service was unfortunately a bit slow.

We had a lovely lunch here. It had an elegant vibe to it. We sat outside and watched the boats in the rain. I had a salmon and shrimp salad bowl and my husband had a meat sandwich. Service was smooth and overall we were happy with our dining experience.

The location was nice...right on the water but not much to see. We sat outside and even when it rained, we stayed dry. My hamburger tasted more like meatloaf, almost hard and void of any juices. The beer was cold. The wait staff were friendly. I would not eat here again though...too many other places to explore given the mediocre food.

I went with my family, and we ordered two salmon dishes, which came with mashed potatoes. When they arrived, besides taking a long time, they didn't have any mashed potatoes, so they decided not to let us know, hoping we wouldn't notice. When I complained, the first waiter denied it, the second accepted without complaint, and I asked for three coffees as compensation, for which he ended up charging us for two. In addition, they never cleared our table, so we had to drink our coffee over dirty plates. Everything was terrible. Finally, the kitchen closed very early and didn't let us know it was closing, so we didn't even have the chance to order dessert.

Despite the heat and crowds outside, we ate inside on the terrace. It was wonderfully peaceful, and we were able to thoroughly enjoy our meal. The chicken is highly recommended.

I ordered the Avocado Truffe Burger, the avocado wasn't ripe and the burger meat was cheap and greasy. My wife had a salmon salad that was nice. The sorbet for dessert was okay but the refreshing lime sorbet was covered in a jam like compote which defeated the idea of the refreshing lime. We also had two soft drinks and the total was €69.90. I'll leave you to decide whether this is good value. It seems that this Lido is set up for the drinking community.

Lido has a very nice view, if you want have a brunch or dinner you will enjoy the view, the food is very tasty and the service is excellent, the waitress are very friendly.

We ordered drinks, appetizers and main courses. Drinks came and were good. Appetizer, soup and bruschetta was pretty good. Our main courses never arrived. We waited over an hour. I approached the manager and complained. We paid for what we ate and left. They really didn’t care that we had a bad experience. I wouldn’t return there to eat. Drinks are great there because of the outdoor seating. But I would skip the food.

What. an. evening. We were allowed to rent the Lido Bar & Kitchen for the Casino Elections of the Year and with a group of about 140 people we had the evening of our lives. Everything was perfect: the atmosphere, the location (beautiful next to the Holland Casino), the service, and especially: the food. Jan, you were the hero of the evening. From start to finish, you made sure that everything went smoothly. The snacks we got varied from a simple but perfect French fry to high-end culinary surprises that we couldn't even identify but oh, how delicious they were. The flavors scored from a 6.5 to an absolute 9.8 with us! A feast for the eyes and the mouth. The service was super tight: empty glasses disappeared without you noticing, drinks kept coming, and the entire team was well attuned to each other. Everyone felt welcome and pampered. Jan, you made our evening. We enjoyed it, with capital letters. See you soon and we will definitely be there again next year!

I walked in on a Sunday afternoon with a reservation and got a table by the canal. Service was attentive. The steak sandwich had great flavor, just a tad overcooked for me. The view is lovely and the restaurant is very close to the museums.

During our visit here, we were seated near the booths and saw a mouse run past the chairs. After a closer look, we noticed black mouse traps underneath. Obviously aware that there is an infestation of vermin they are continuing operation and serving people food. So disgusted and disappointed seeing this at such a cute place. We will never know what the food tasted like since we left immediately after seeing this.

During a day in Amsterdam, we stopped at this lido located on the edge of one of the small canals. The terrace, accompanied by the sunshine, offered a most pleasant atmosphere. The service was fast and friendly. I enjoyed a delicious burger, while my nonna enjoyed a salmon that was as delicious as it was beautifully presented. A wonderful discovery that I highly recommend.

We stopped by Lido in Amsterdam and had a great experience. We ordered fries and bread with dips - everything was fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was friendly and efficient. A nice spot to relax and enjoy some good food!

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was more than just sobering. After we sat down, a waiter quickly came to take our order. I told him we would like to order drinks and food for my son. He said we'll do everything well. 10 minutes later another waiter came to us and asked if we wanted to order. I told him that we had given drinks and food for my son to the other waiter. But this waiter said that this was not recorded and that he would do this now. We were amazed because we specifically ordered the food for my son first so that it would come quicker. Well good.. At the end the food came with a waiting time of one hour and a delay of 15 minutes. I complained to a waiter who cheekily replied: they haven't been waiting that long. I thought I knew when I entered the store. I would avoid this shop if you want to have a nice evening. Service is subpar and the food was ready and cheap, stale salt.

Last weekend I enjoyed a surprisingly refined lunch at Lido Club in Amsterdam. Although best known as a nightclub, Lido offers a hidden gem during the day for those looking for a stylish terrace experience in Amsterdam. Host Joeri deserves a special mention: attentive, relaxed and with just the right dose of flair. He made sure everything went smoothly and gave the afternoon a personal touch. We started with a bottle of champagne – the Castelnau Brut Réserve – a fresh, elegant choice that immediately set the tone. This was followed by perfectly poached eggs, presented on brioche with a creamy hollandaise. Simply sublime. Simplicity executed in perfection. The atmosphere on the terrace was relaxed but chic, with lounge music in the background and a view of the lively street scene of Amsterdam South and a view of the water - boats sailing by. Typically great Amsterdam, experience at its best! Lido proves that it is more than a nightclub – it is also a place where you can enjoy yourself in style during the day. Highly recommended for those who love luxury without pretension.

The service here is awful. We waited over an hour and never even had our table cleaned from the service before us. The spot and the ambiance may be enticing but it is definetly not worth the mediocre welcome. So many better choices eveywhere around.

We had lunch with 6 people. Service was nice. The food was OK 4 times, but the 2 x hamburgers were terribly bad. The meat was fried dry and only 2x 0.3 cm thick and the whole thing for 21€!! Even €5 would have been too much.

I went there for drink somethings. Very nice ambiance. Looks like that in 1st instance. But sat there and waited half hour my drink but it didn't come to table. So I left the place. I don't think I would dare to go there for dinner or lunch and order something. Couse I can never know, if my order ever come to table.

Had lunch, Caesar salad was very poor. The bread with the croquettes was very hard because it was placed on a grill and a knife could not get through it. In short: lunch is not recommended.

I had a very average to low experience. The staff was very confused and made some mistakes like bringing the wrong drink and then one drink less! The food tasted very normal and close to what you can make at home! The restaurant itself is a nice and calm place.

A very pleasant establishment, delicious snacks and a beautiful view of the canal. We were there around 6 pm, and the place didn’t seem to be working at all. The waiters took a very long time to arrive and no one greeted us at the entrance. But this did not spoil the impression. Everything was perfect

Not my first visite here, but as always excellent service and nice food. Our host Joeri was super helpfull and attentive! The location has a very nice terrace as well and a spot to come back for every season. So we will come back soon!

Avoid this restaurant if you expect to be treated with even a minimum of respect. We arrived for brunch and were refused a table on the grounds that they were short-staffed. So far, understandable. But just a few minutes later, another group arrived and was immediately seated without hesitation! When I asked for an explanation, the server rudely replied that it wasn’t our business and that they wouldn’t seat is, I asked the customer if they had a reservation, she told me no they didn't have a reservation, they were the ones who seated us directly while the waiter told her they had a reservation and he absolutely didn't want to seat us. . Arrogant and discriminatory attitude, along with inconsistent service. It’s a shame, as the place seemed charming, but the staff completely ruined the experience.

Sitting on the beautiful terrace and not being noticed even though the neighboring table was being served is the lowest level of hospitality. After waiting, we asked the waitress and were told: "There aren't enough employees." Ridiculous!!!! At a table next to ours, she even cleared away the dishes without even paying attention to us The shabbiest thing we experienced in Amsterdam! Never again Lido! 30 METERS further on there was the best service.
