We waited more than an hour for our food. I think that is really too long.

Cozy terrace, friendly service, and the food was truly delicious.

Slow service. The Irish Coffee was horribly hot brown water that didn't taste like coffee, and I think the whiskey was completely forgotten. Absolutely not recommended.

Excellent service! When the weather is nice, it's lovely on the terrace, but it's also cozy inside.

I had the vegan Mariken Burger and it was delicious! It came along with tasty fries with the skin on, it was a bit too salty though, with vegan mayo and a tasty salad. I was only a bit surprised that the burger had a crispy green inside (but was an avocado burger, but I expected another bite feeling). All though it was pretty tasteful. About the surroundings of the restaurant: the terras was really noisy, so we decided to go sit indoors. But the music speakers were also quite loud, so we went somewhere quieter, so we could talk.

Delicious fried eggs with bacon on bread. Vegetarian hamburger. Dutch croquettes with a filling and dough different from those in Poland.

Cozy cafe for everyone and good food

Yes, we thought this was the best café on the Grote Markt. Plenty of choice in beer and cocktails, and wine too, though we didn't have any this time. The Aperol was just a bit too little in the glass and moderately strong. Still, due to the heat, we ordered a couple. Central view, location, good staff who see you when you want to order, which isn't a given these days. Tasty shrimp and fresh fries. Sponsorship by Hertog Jan is definitely a plus. My number 2 after Brand beer. Highly recommended. Thank you to the service and kitchen staff; please be a little less strict with pouring behind the bar.

Absolutely not worthy to go there. The food had no taste and we were waiting one hour and fifty minutes for our order and then after we finished we waited twenty minutes for the bill.

Sat there for nearly half an hour and no one even looked over, granted it was pretty busy at first, but then my friends tried to say something to a server to ask whether we could order and she just sprinted away… I have a lot of patience when it comes to restaurants and cafés because I know what it can be like but this was just ridiculous

Nice terrace with a wide selection of craft beers. The staff is hardworking and friendly, and the olives are delicious.

Stopped for coffee and a treat, and it is absolutely fine. Great espresso, the chai latte is also top-notch according to my dining companion, and the apple pie is good too. If the latter isn't artisanal, then it is certainly from a good professional baker. Extra star for the service, because they have complimentary sunscreen for the guests. Highly recommended!!

The Aperol had no fizz, as if the bottle of prosecco was very old. I pointed this out and was told they couldn't do anything about it, but it seems to me that you would give a new one then?

We enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the sun. It's a shame that we had to wait a very long time for our croques due to the crowds and the shortage of staff.... Fortunately, they were very tasty!

We ask if we can have lunch here, and the response is positive. After ordering drinks, however, it turns out to be impossible to order lunch due to the kitchen being busy. They clearly don't have things in order.

This place is bagging for a reparation. Everything is worn out. The tap in the ladies WA is broken - you should hold it with one hand and open with another. The toilet paper is impossible to use - it tears apart once you touch it and toilet floor is fully covered with small pieces of it. A coffee is very cheap, the same taste as the one on the tank stations. Never again!!!

On a busy Saturday afternoon, we managed to snag a spot in the back. We had lunch with five of us, and it was delicious! The spicy oriental chicken is excellent, definitely recommended!

We went here for my birthday and ordered a Moenenburger. I highly recommend it! What a delicious burger for that price! The staff is very friendly and genuinely enjoy their work! I definitely recommend eating here!

Main course raw ground beef, pork belly, and flattened, tough steak aren't really my go-to dishes when I'm in a cafe. The outside door doesn't close automatically. You'll be blown away if you sit at the front. But it's still a cozy cafe with friendly service.

The homemade limoncello cheesecake, priced at €7.50 each, seemed like a treat, but it was anything but. It was old or frozen, but what a tough, tasteless treat!

Very disappointing. The service is friendly, but the drinks and food aren't worth the trip. We had fruit lemonades. They were just sparkling water with syrup and a few lemon slices (no fruit pieces or the slightest hint of lemonade). The croque monsieurs were hard, dry, and bland. They had an overcooked fried egg and a few salad leaves dueling with each other, plus half a cherry tomato. This isn't what you'd call a croque monsieur. The food isn't great.

We stopped for a coffee and a beer while waiting for the rain to pass. We were warmly welcomed, the service was quick, the table was set with a candle, and the prices were reasonable. I recommend it.

Nice terrace. It's strange that they have both a lunch and dinner menu, and they list the exact same dishes, but at dinner you get €2.50 extra fries with your burger, and at lunch you have to pay €5 for extra fries, and this is supposedly unavoidable. I find it quite strange when it's all about the same dish. I ended up only having a drink because of this.

Food was fine in terms of speed because we were with a large group, carpaccio as a starter was fine. Ordered steak as a main course medium rare but it seemed like medium rubber was not to be chewed. Drinks were fast and great and we were able to create a good atmosphere with the group. Snacks and cheese platter were screamingly expensive but not great.

Actually sat here by chance because the other cafes were already full, but that was a stroke of luck. The cakes, bitterballen, bara's (unique on a menu) and fries were really very tasty! Large beer menu, and as icing on the cake quality champagne (Louis Roederer) at a nice price. Really recommended, I will sit here again next time!

The food was very tasty and prepared quickly. The restaurant has an extensive menu with many choices, including for children. It has a nice good terrace, with parasols for shade. All this for good prices, definitely recommended.

Nice place for lunch and a nice drink. A big plus is the games cabinet. The “crogue spicy chicken” is highly recommended, especially in combination with the fresh fries. This one is definitely filling!

We came for a piece of cake and to play games. There is a wide choice of games, but unfortunately some are incomplete. Drinks and food came quickly and the home iced tea is highly recommended.

A very nice cafe on the market square. The food tasted very good. Unfortunately the egg wasn't runny, which I found very unfortunate. Otherwise the food was very convincing. Especially the goat cheese.

Nice, attractive terrace, lively, many people walk past. Had a special beer there on a Saturday evening. The person who served us could name all the tap beers by heart and the details! I just wanted to mention it, because we don't come across that often anymore and that knowledge certainly offers something extra!

The service can't do anything about it, but in terms of food it is the worst place in Nijmegen. Do you want chewing gum? Order the steak 3 times and you have a package full.

Heel erg slecht. Burgers beloven veel op de kaart. De werkelijkheid is een ramp. Doorgbakken taaie Hamburger. Smerige saus eroverheen gekwakt. Bediening snapt het allemaal niet. De wijn werd gebracht, daar dreven 3 vliegen in. In mijn ogen is dit een economisch delict. Echt vermeiden deze tent.

Was second time I am here having lunch. I was in a lot of places in Nijmegen and also outside Netherlands. But this place has a warm energy and a pleasant ambience! People working here you can see it they do it with love and are friendly. You will get fast service and good fresh food (allot)! So just go a head and experience it your self :)

While looking for a place to eat we ended up at the Grand Café Moenen. We did not regret it. A small but good menu, reasonable prices for a glass of Pinot Gris from the Palatinate and delicious draft and bottled beers. And board games are permitted and available in Dutch. You can also bring your own games. And if you try to speak Dutch, you're already on the right page. Conclusion: We would go there again.

The food was very tasteless. While eating we were not asked if we liked it. When they came to pick up the plates they asked if we liked it, we indicated that we were not satisfied and that we found the food tasteless. The staff reacted quite irritated and indicated that nothing more could be done because we had eaten it. When we indicated that no one had come to us to ask if it tasted good, the clerk said: normally you walk to the waiter yourself to indicate that it is not tasty. They did not come up with a solution themselves and we simply had to pay full price for tasteless food that was not worth the price. Pity! From now on we will skip this grand cafe when we walk past.

We had dinner here on Saturday. It took over 20 minutes from serving the drinks until we got our food. A burger on a bare plate. This flavor was nice. The croquettes on bread were terrible. The bread was so hard it would break your teeth and the lettuce was so wilted I wouldn't feed it to my rabbit. Unfortunately the staff did not have time to come by the table again.

We sought refuge on a cold, rainy Sunday in March, expecting the name Grand Café to provide a comforting environment. Due to the narrow seating at the market, you can hardly see the restaurants behind it. In fact, there's nothing left of the ambience of an Art Nouveau café - it's a rocky student café with very friendly service and a menu without surprises. There are probably more appealing places nearby.

This place really means a lot to me. It is a wonderful place that needs no introduction
