We love coming here; good service, professional and very attentive. No one is overlooked and the food is delicious. The Tournedos is prepared perfectly (we are critical). A real asset with an owner who understands what they're doing. By the way, the photo shows an empty plate; that was where today's daily special from 2/9/2021 was.......😛Incredibly tasty!!!!!! Salmon with pasta!!!!!! Tried it out again last night, March 13, 2022. It was super tasty again! The Tournedos was prepared perfectly again, and the salmon that was sold out had been replaced by sea bass, which, according to the ladies, was very flavorful. Just ate there again on 3-7-2024; it was delicious again!!!! Ate there again tonight, 28-3-2026. How do they do it??? The Rendang, the Tournedos.... everything was very tasty again!!! Compliments... yet again.

We actually always have a fantastic meal here. The rendang, in particular, is our favorite. It is incredibly impressive how they have given this restaurant a stable position.

We've been coming here with the whole family on Christmas Eve for almost 10 years. Always at the same table in front of the fireplace. It's become a true family tradition that we look forward to again this year. The service is always so friendly. The food is always delicious in a fantastic atmosphere.

Our excellent experience last night deserves an excellent review. We regularly visit this restaurant and have only had positive experiences (we don't recognize some of the criticisms below at all, but that's not uncommon; if something isn't to our liking, we immediately give it 1-2 stars). The owner and staff are hardworking and customer-focused, and we had a wonderful meal again. The menu was truly delicious!

My partner's dish lived up to expectations: carefully prepared, with well-chosen garnishes. My choice, wild mushroom risotto, was a real slap in the face. It looked like a dish that had been heaped onto a plate with a large soup spoon! No effort had been made to create an attractive garnish. We won't be returning.

We have been living outside the Gooi for a few years now and were in the mood for a throwback. With fond memories, we settled down at Archibald. Unfortunately—for us, a disappointment. We understand that prices have risen, but nearly 30 euros for a steak, one carrot, and one potato croquette…? The meat was delicious, but our first reaction when we saw the plate was, oh, is that all? And somehow, the ambiance of the restaurant wasn't what we remembered from the "grand café" either. As if nothing had been done to the interior over the years. We couldn't quite put our finger on it… But 5 stars for the service. The service was like old times. Attentive, friendly, and personal. 5 stars. Oh well, maybe it has to do with age and we are entering that phase where everything used to be better…

Delicious food, fast service, and a cozy atmosphere. Situated on a corner with a wide view of the outdoors. Subdued lighting, including three chandeliers with cutlery and glasses; very unique! There's also a spacious terrace. Heineken on tap and a selection of Belgian beers.

Inappropriate behavior from the staff. When we entered, he asked how he could help us, but didn't even wait for us to sit down. He didn't bring us a menu, and when he came to take our order, he only asked if we wanted black coffee or a specialty. We'll never be back.

The food could be better! I won't be back anytime soon.

Haven't been for a while. It was a treat to be back. And a wide menu choice. Too bad the fries didn't come with the meal as a matter of course, but that you had to order them separately. That is made up for by free unsolicited tap water without any hassle! We will be back. After this review we did indeed return. We now come to Archibald almost regularly. It's nice that the menus change regularly. Sometimes it's a shame when the short ribs are no longer there. But always delicious. This time too, the nine of us had a delicious meal. The vegetarians didn't have enough choice. And we ate well again. The above remains valid We still come regularly

After a nice "Koot & Bie" walk we settled down at Archibald. A late lunch with a nice glass of wine. What friendly staff and what a delicious and cozy meal we had with a view of the 'moorkop' ;) This is definitely recommended because I have the feeling that dinner is also more than fine; something for next time. Keep it that way!

We received good advice for lunch from the very friendly staff. The taste and quantity of the lunch was perfect. Incomprehensible that it was so quiet on Saturday afternoon.

After the drinks had been ordered, it was reported that several dishes could no longer be ordered because it had been busy in the afternoon. Unfortunately, it is not possible to order fish. The dessert was also incomplete because one ingredient had run out; We heard this when serving. The food was fine, but it was still a downer.

The food is always good and you should always pay attention to the current Menu van de Chef as it tends to be excellent. The service is always good, never having to wait, never feeling rushed. But to this expat: this is a rare place in the Netherlands in that they will give you a correctly made Irish Coffee. (Well, the glass is not traditional, but that's fine. :) ) That speaks to the their attention to detail - they don't only care about good food, it's also clear they care about what comes out of the bar, and the people staffing that bar should be proud - their contribution is always the crowning achievement of my visit.

Nice grand café with a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the food quality was good. A suggestion would be to consider changing the music to better match the interior and ambiance. Overall, it's worth a visit.

Last night I had a delicious meal with my wife, both of us had the swordfish tartare as a starter, a very original dish and excellently prepared, and for my wife the pot au feu, delicious but a little on the salty side. My sirloin steak was delicious, good cooking and a delicious sauce. The dessert was also not to be missed, choux with caramel ice cream with chocolate sauce and eggnog The service was extremely friendly and very hospitable

Gezellige plek, geen poespas, lekker gegeten. Vanaf het dakterras prima uitzicht op mighty urbaan Bussum!

Bij mijn hoofdgerecht (entrecôte 26,50) moesten de frieten apart worden bijbesteld (4,50). Groenten werden in zeer matige hoeveelheid geserveerd. Overigens smaakte het gerecht op zich goed. Tafelgenoot bestelde vetarische Thaise curryrijst met diverse groenten (21,50) en als supplement enkele gamba's (7,00), daar het gerecht zelf geen/amper eiwitten bevatte. Tafelgenoot kreeg een bord met voornamelijk rijst en amper groenten. De (niet heel royale hoeveelheid) gamba's waren rubberig. Het leek erop alsof de kok onder vegetarisch eten verstaat: gewoon het vlees weglaten. Om ook een positief geluid te laten horen: de soes Archibald en de romanov waren uitstekend. Maar al met al vind ik de gerechten te hoog geprijsd voor het gebodene.

Ik kom hier 2 tot 3 keer per jaar dineren met de oude schoolvrienden van de Koepelschool. Het is er altijd lekker en gezellig. En de tonijn taco is de topper voor mij. Vandaag met moeders, zus, mijn liefste en dochter weer een heerlijk avondje gehad. Heerlijk plekje!

Good food and wine served by nice staff in a traditional styled place.

Gastvrij, super vriendelijk personeel en een fijne ambiance. Lekker gegeten, en echt ouderwets mogen genieten, dankjewel, wij komen hier graag terug.

Zo, dat is even een nieuwe ontdekking in Bussum. Hoewel het restaurant er al jaren zit, waren wij er al jaren niet meer geweest. Maar goed, met onze twee kinderen (10/12) gereserveerd op de zaterdagavond en het was perfect! De atmosfeer is heel prettig door de hoge plafonds en daardoor kun je in alle rust een gesprek hebben met elkaar terwijl de zaak helemaal vol zit. Dan over het eten. Voorgerechten eigenlikk heerlijk. Coquille super, de carpaccio miste wat smaak in de dressing. Na de feedback werd dit zeer serieus genomen en van de rekening gehaald (terwijl het nog steeds echt lekker was). Hoofdgerechten waren super. Een tonijnsteak waarvoor je echt terug komt, met heerlijke Oosterse dressing en dito smaak. De twee kindergerechten met zeebaars en kipnuggets waren meer dan goedgekeurd door de jury. We zitten nu nog te wachten op de desserts, maar wat we om ons heen zien, gaat dit zeker goed komen. Service ook een 10! Aanrader dus in Bussum!

Goed restaurant voor zowel diner als lunch. Heerlijk om in de zomer buiten te zitten op het terras. Daarbij anticiperen ze goed op allergieën. Kom hier regelmatig met plezier.

Uitstekende bediening, heerlijke wijn en een erg lekker herfstmenu van de Chef. Archibald stelt wederom niet teleur.

Wir waren zweimal da und haben immer ausgezeichnet gegessen. Besonders die Suppen, der Palmenherzen und Cesars Salat, das Rinder Carpaccio und der indonesische Eintopf (Rendang) haben uns gut geschmeckt, ebenso das Risotto. Die Nachspeise mit Eierlikör hat uns überrascht und war auch sehr fein. der Service ist professionell, schnell und freudnlich.

Dit bezoek gaat de boeken in als iets dat ieder jaar gevierd zal worden!

We hadden al jaren niet meer bij Archibald gegeten maar waren zeer aangenaam verrast. De ambiance is prettig, de akoestiek goed en de bediening prettig en ervaren, maar we waren vooral verrast door de kwaliteit van het eten. In onze herinnering was het redelijk, maar dit was gewoon echt goed. Acceptabele porties bovendien, wat belangrijk is met drie mannen die flink eten (en een restaurant soms niet voldaan verlaten - dat was hier niet het geval). Klein minpuntje: het was een beetje donker aan onze heerlijke tafel bij de haard.
