Delicious menus, both the regular and Christmas dinners, sublime. Lovely, peaceful atmosphere, very friendly staff and service. We'd love to come back.

I visited the stork for a Lego fair. It wasn't very big, but it was a fun place with lots of things for all ages.

Very cozy, good and original food.

Dinner: The atmosphere wasn't what you'd expect from an average Dutch restaurant. Bare, cold, and lacking atmosphere. The steak was too raw (read: bloody), so I sent it back. I got a new one, but unfortunately, it wasn't much better. The appetizer was okay (something like salmon). Service: the waiter did his best, but that was it. We wouldn't return.

We chose the 5-course surprise menu. We were allowed to specify in advance what we didn't like, and this was taken into account. Each course came with a matching wine and a detailed explanation. The service was also excellent, and we had a wonderful experience. Everything was possible, and nothing was too much trouble. We also really liked the concept of a surprise menu. It's definitely worth the price!

Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were pleasantly seated, our order was taken promptly, and our drinks and food were served promptly! The staff was very nice!

Today we had a 4-course meal, which was a huge disappointment. Poor service, poor quality, and mediocre courses. It was offered as a big surprise, but it was truly disappointing. Upon arrival, we had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks. We were supposed to receive a welcome drink and could choose between wine or beer. It doesn't seem like a welcome drink to arrive. The first course was halibut tartare with garnish (tasteless). We asked for the wine list, which took 15 minutes to arrive. We even had to ask for it twice. Finally, they came to ask what we wanted to drink. We wanted to order a bottle of St. Emilion wine (50 euros) but passed on it. So, we ended up with a house wine and sparkling water. I was quite upset about the poor service. The only thing they were interested in was the phone where they could place orders, etc. The next course was a mediocre piece of sea bass with pearl couscous. The fish had absolutely no flavor. Then came the best part. They brought the main course, bavette, with some vegetables. The meat was raw; we hadn't been asked how we wanted it. It was just awful. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were cold. They came to ask if everything was to our liking. I only spoke briefly. I found it shameful how they treat their guests. They forget that some people look forward to such a meal and need it to make their evening complete. But this was a complete disappointment. And then only "sorry, our apologies." What are you supposed to do with this? The evening was completely ruined. I do have one good word to say: the dessert was fine, not a standout, but the best of the evening. The hotel is excellent and doesn't match the restaurant at all, or vice versa. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones. Everything went wrong around here tonight. Since drinks weren't delivered, we left. Since fries weren't delivered with the main course, they only arrived halfway through. No dessert was brought, and the customer asked several times. They were waiting for the main course, which took a long time. In short, what should have been a pleasant dinner was a mess. Think carefully before you eat. Every euro you order here is one too many. A very dissatisfied guest.

Nice place in a beautiful city.

The four of us dined at De Ooievaar tonight. Our experience was unfortunately mediocre. We expected more. We started at our table, which had a view into the kitchen, but the atmosphere was lacking. In my opinion, this row of tables is the least attractive. However, that shouldn't detract from the service and the food. We ordered drinks. I ordered a matching wine. The wine was placed right in front of me, without any explanation. When I asked what kind of wine I had, I was told, "I don't know." She went to check and eventually returned with the bottle, showed it to me, and that was it. No enthusiasm or explanation of the wine. The first course was three salmon tartare courses and one duck breast. Oops, I don't eat tartare myself. This is my own fault, by the way, as I forgot to mention this earlier. The second course was whitefish with a grain? And red carrot. In all honesty, not very exciting or tasty. The fish wasn't cooked quite right, it lacked flavor, and especially the sauce. The sauce was very sparse. My husband ordered a "skuumkoppe" (a Dutch ice cream cone) and received a Heineken. This was exchanged after I pointed it out. The third course was the main course: a beef steak with a "garden" of grilled vegetables and a dollop of mashed potatoes. Finally, dessert consisted of a scoop of watermelon ice cream, which unfortunately didn't have the right texture and contained ice crystals. A milk and peach panna cotta. You couldn't taste the peach, only a few pieces were noticeable in the texture. A cookie crumble and a few "drops" of strawberry. In short, the food was just okay, nothing exciting, and our service was mediocre and lacked finesse.

Last Sunday, I took advantage of a social deal offer at restaurant De Ooievaar in Schagen. It was a four-course surprise menu. We enjoyed a few cocktails beforehand and then ate. Each course was perfectly prepared and more than enough. Thomas also provided excellent explanations for each course. In my opinion, this guy is a perfect example of a good hospitality staff member. As mentioned, everything was explained and described very well, and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, which were answered promptly and efficiently. Kudos to the entire staff. If we ever visit Schagen again, we will definitely eat here again.

We had a delicious four-course meal. Quite exclusive, but adequate. The service was good, but still a few flaws.

We had something to celebrate and had wanted to eat at the Ooievaar for a while. Both had not been there for many years. We got a surprise menu of 4 courses. We kicked off with a delicious goat cheese amuse, which was really delicious. The starter was challenging for us. Although octopus and pig's ear are also really something that is eaten in Portugal. We are not a fan of that. But you managed to make a surprising okay out of it. And the octopus was super tender! After that we continued to enjoy. Halibut as an intermediate course. Main course a Diamond hare with really super delicious gravy. Desert 2 golden duo flavors together. What you would normally think clash with each other and it was just very tasty all together. In short, a wonderful experience!

On January 10, I had dinner with you with my father, and we look back on this evening with great pleasure. We were helped by Chantal, and what a fantastic asset she is to your team. Dear Chantal, you were truly wonderful. My father and I have expressed several times how exceptionally well you did. You were attentive, sensed perfectly what we needed, were cozy and warm, but never too present. Our compliments to the kitchen too – what a party! The flavors were delicious, the surprise menu perfectly balanced, and we really enjoyed it. Everything was perfect this evening: from the atmosphere, to the food, to the service. We were at Rob and Emiel's theater magic cabaret on Thursday 3/4 and enjoyed it! Both the food and the great show by Rob and Emiel. Good 3-course menu, nice wines and good service

Went to a music performance by U2 cover band

We ate the surprise menu today 3 courses. That lived up to its name. Everything was surprisingly tasty and beautifully prepared. And what a nice team there was tonight. Despite a shortage of 'hands', there is still all the friendliness, good service and excellent service.

The service and kitchen are not familiar with the term gluten-free. The food tastes good, but unfortunately it suffers from gluten. It would be better if it was clear in advance that completely gluten-free is not feasible, then we could have made the decision ourselves.

The surprise menu was not good. The chef's surprise menu started with an amuse of a slice of tomato, cucumber and carrot that was unseasoned and dried out. This was followed by the starter, a raw tartare that was cut too coarsely and the main course consisted of another piece of beef which was well seasoned but which was served with too few vegetables, which were too raw. The bowl of fries was also not even cooked properly.

Excellent cuisine and service in a beautifully decorated restaurant, at our request the music was a little louder and it became more pleasant so we ordered another bottle of wine!👍

Very nice place to be, very nice and sweet service. I also enjoyed the salmon sandwich which was in abundance.

When ordering food and drinks, it was quite slow, or in other words, the handling and not serving anything, the drinks went quickly until I ordered food and drinks, which took almost an hour.

Very tasty vegetarian food. The plates were prepared with care and the staff was very nice. Nice atmosphere!

Last weekend we spent a weekend in Schagen and stayed overnight in the Marktstad hotel. In the evening we had dinner in the restaurant De Ooievaar. We had reserved the 5-course surprise menu with wine package. The restaurant has a nice and warm atmosphere. The food was super tasty and very beautifully presented, as were the wines. We were served by Bo, a super nice and fun waitress with humor and told us in a nice way what we had on our plate each round. The next morning we had breakfast where nothing was lacking. I was also congratulated and received a card upon arrival after breakfast, which was super nice. Definitely recommended and will definitely come back.

Delicious dinner tonight with a large group at Restaurant de Ooievaar... Neatly served & all at the same time, really neat. Delicious shrimp croquettes as a starter & carpaccio also very good! Main course large piece of salmon, which tasted excellent.. Friendly & helpful service.. In short, highly recommended!

With a group of 12 men/women we ate and drank well, until well after restaurant closing time. Glad this was possible.

Leuke ambiance, heerlijk eten , vriendelijke bediening

Mooi restaurant in Schagen. Ze hebben geen lunch. Maar je kunt er bij het hotel ontbijten of gewoon in de middag een thee met gebak nemen. Of in de avond heerlijk dineren. Aardige bediening. Prachtige inrichting. Ook lekkere vega keuzes.

Een goed restaurant met leuke bediening! Lekker gegeten en betaalbaar! Een aanrader!

Hadden ontbijt geboekt voor 4 volwassenen en 2 kinderen. We werden naar een tafel begeleid voor 6 personen, keurig met bestek en servetten. Helaas de stoelen en bank was bezaaid met brood kruimels, het ontbijt zelf was prima, van alles wat, lekkere koffie, sapjes, vleeswaren, kaas enz. Heerlijke broodjes enz.

Heerlijk genoten van een 4gangen verrassing menu. Alleen jammer dat ze geen alcoholvrije wijn op de kaart hadden

Hele prettige bediening en goed eten.

Wij hadden een tegoedbon gekregen voor een borrelplankje en gingen deze innen vòòr ons bezoekje aan de bioscoop in Schagen. Geweldig uitgebreide plank, goede kwaliteit en leuk opmaakt op een bord. Soms weet je niet wat je verwachten kunt voor €16,50 maar deze plank voor 2 personen is een aanrader. Ham, zalm, bitterballen en kipnuggets, olijven, toastje, hummus en een schaal dorito's met kaas uit de oven.... en dan ben ik vast nog wat vergeten. Top en smaakvol lekker.

Prachtige zaak. Fijne stoelen en banken. Het zit aan een hotel dus ze hebben ontbijt en diner. Geen lunch kaart. Wel een lekkere broodplank.

We komen hier altijd graag als we iets te vieren hebben. We laten ons dan graag verrassen door het menu van de chef! Smaak is altijd voortreffelijk.

Onverwacht lekker, de reguliere kaart is niet iets waar we enthousiast over waren, daarom gekozen voor het verrassingsmenu. Ontzettend lekker!

Verrassingmenu bij mijn overnachting gekozen! Was heerlijk en vullend ondanks dat niet alles mijn smaak was maar dat hoort erbij! Heerlijke diversiteit in zitgedeelten.

Voor ons de eerste keer sinds de verandering van eigenaren. Goede sfeer en service, het eten was vers en smaakvol, een aanrader.

Had een kaartje gekocht voor het optreden van Memphis. Door de slechte weersomstandigheden kon ik er niet naar toe, gebeld en het uitgelegd, vroeg of ik misschien restitutie voor mijn kaartje kon krijgen, geen enkel probleem. Binnen een week was het geld teruggestort, keurig!

Wat een goed restaurant! Wij hebben hier gegeten tijdens Tweede Kerstdag 2022 en het eten was echt ontzettend lekker. Personeel is aardig en bleef ondanks de drukte erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Wij zouden hier zeker nog een keer terugkomen!

Waiting for food for a long time, only few staff, no one interested in customer calling.

Wij hebben met z'n 4een, een 4 gangen diner gegeten. Het eten was zeer goed, van goede kwaliteit. De borden waren mooi opgemaakt. Zeer vriendelijk personeel.. Je kunt hier in het restaurant of in de mooie binnen tuin eten. Het restaurant heeft een zeer mooie uitstraling en voor èèn ieder is de rode loper uitgelegd. TOP! Ga zo door! Gisteravond prima gegeten, eten was prima, bediening soms een klein beetje rommelig maar niet storend!

Geweest tijdens na een uitvaartdienst. Service drinken en eten perfect. Sfeer van deze zaak geweldig wat een mooie zaak.

Voor de eerste keer bezocht en wat is het veranderd! Ik stond wel even te kijken... de hele zaak is vernieuwd en ademt een rustige, maar fijne sfeer. De bediening mogen allemaal een medaille krijgen, want ze zorgen ervoor dat je je thuis voelt. Ook als je een speciale wens hebt, een dieet of zo, dan is er geen enkel probleem! Wij hebben alletwee een tournedos besteld en het was om je vingers bij op te..... inderdaad. Ook maar meteen een medaille voor de keuken!! Ze zien mij zeker weer terug! Ik moet de reviews toch zeker up to date houden... 😉 tot ziens!

Echt heerlijk gegeten. Fijne tafels, gezellig ingericht maar ook heel belangrijk: de bediening is vriendelijk en maakt het je naar je zin. Aanrader..

Eten was/is prima. Niet de top maar prima. Maar als je bediend wordt door een boerin die meer aandacht heeft voor haar vrienden die aan de bar zitten gaat er iets niet goed. Niet weten hoe je serveert, " enven de borden doorgeven,", een mes op de juiste manier vast pak als je deze op tafel legt is wel zo fris, reageren met huh! als je even niet verstaat. Glazen op tafel gooien. Etcetera.

Heerlijk gegeten en vriendelijke bediening.

Leuk restaurant leuke sfeer. We hadden het 5 gangen menu / verrassing chef. We hebben genoten en alles kwam in een prima tempo. Het was jammer dat het personeel niet precies wist wat er geserveerd werd. Anders wat ons betreft 5 sterren, ruimte voor verbetering
