Mediocre service, poor service. The food was mediocre, some of it even cold.

The food was okay. The service and atmosphere were good.

Had lunch here on a rainy afternoon. It was probably quiet because of the weather. I imagine it's a great spot in good weather. It has a lovely terrace overlooking the Markermeer. Only two tables were occupied this time. We sat inside, which was a bit run-down. We opted for bread and a croquette. Plenty of butter and certainly more than enough mustard. The salad on the plate unfortunately didn't have any dressing. The croquette and the bread tasted great. Very friendly staff.

I just agreed to celebrate my birthday here with drinks and dinner, just like 20 years ago. Says enough, right?

Dinner before the Hans Teeuwen show, for carpaccio, which was good, though perhaps a bit too much Parmesan on the meat. Dessert, a chocolate trifle, was delicious, rich, and sweet, perhaps the highlight of the session for me. There was some wrangling over the wine; it turned out to be an old bottle, not that they opened a new one for us; that was later, and then it turned out to be Chardonnay after all. Anyway, the main course was Surf & Turf, but the sirloin was gone, so we got flat iron steak. It was a good piece of meat; even bien cuit (welcome) it was still edible. That was actually a bit of a shame, considering the meat and the meal. Otherwise, the service was friendly, and the view is superb.

The service is incredibly slow and pays no attention to guests at the terrace. The table near us had to remind the waiter about us sitting in the corner and asking to make an order for 20 minutes. They served us food first, and we had to wait for another 5 minutes for the drinks. Who does this in hospitality? They also didn't bring any ashtray through the whole time although they said they will. The male staff member was very polite. The staff first took the order from us and then cleaned the dirty table from previous guests only after we reminded them this is not ours. The tables around us weren't clean at all. We saw at least 3x staff members and the terrace and indoors were half empty. I think the staff members need somw better training, some better managament and/or a push in any form. We saw some other people similarly annoyed, some walked away. What a pitty for such a good spot!

One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. The staff don't think about you; they only care about each other. Most of the staff are often overworked and completely rude. On top of that, the prices are way too high.

We had a delicious fish lunch, dogs are allowed inside and were given water by the friendly waiter!

Delicious espresso and raspberry pastry 😋. I think the music could be a bit softer.

Beautiful view, only a pity that you have to wait so long for your drink

The bitterballen were tough, the sweet "treat" definitely not worth the calories, the nuts weren't very fresh, and I won't be getting a VIP package again. Terrible.

A few hundred meters further, on the beach, a new catering facility has been built. I bet, given the poor (customer) service and loose rats at T Hop, that they will be closed down within a year.

Top location with a large terrace on the water and between the city beach and the historic city center of Hoorn. It could use some renovation because the (too) scarce lounge benches lack cushions, the parasols that are there need replacing and in the summer there is far too little shade. The drinks and menu also deserve a makeover. Service is very friendly but disorganized. I like to come here but this A location deserves better!

Here with the Amuse tour early in the day. I finished my wine and food and then politely asked for a glass of water - it was 28 degrees outside - and despite being a paying customer I was given a plastic glass and sent downstairs to fill it in the toilet! What kind of service is this?! Unimpressed.

We had lunch here. Four of us. We had 4 soups, 2 wines, 1 coke and 2 beers. 7 croquettes with bread. Price 95 euros. What a ridiculously high amount.

A wonderful place to relax and dine with a view of the water and enjoy good coffee and delicious cake.

Great shop, with a large terrace. Only everything went wrong with ordering, we couldn't pay easily and it took a while before we got our coffee. Maybe they are understaffed?

Unfortunately, we weren't served here; we waited 20 minutes. Everyone who came after us was immediately asked what they wanted. Too bad, great location, but no interest in guests.

Duurste flat white van Nederland? 6 25! Uitleg 1 cappuccino + 1 espresso. Wel lekker maar prijs slaat nergens op. NB flat white staat niet op de menukaart dus prijs was een verrassing.

Normally we are elsewhere in Hoorn, but I think we will have a drink here more often, the menu is fine, the drinks menu is also good, the location by the water is just fantastic, the staff is friendly and we were helped quickly.

A beautiful location. Poorly managed staff resulting in, for example, bringing the order, but no attention to removing it. Many jackdaws feast on what remains on the tables. They also have more eye and ear for each other than for the order. With a group of five they were exchanging experiences. We eventually walked away.

Leuke plek aan het IJsselmeer. Na 20 minuten wachten om te bestellen, zijn wij vertrokken naar een andere eetgelegenheid. Het is ook allemaal een beetje smoezelig. Echt jammer voor zo'n geweldige plek.

Made a reservation here prior to our theater visit. We were a bit early so we first sat on the terrace, where we were helped fairly quickly. We wanted to take a seat inside at 4:50 PM, but we had to wait because our colleagues were still eating. After waiting a while we were shown to the table and after 5 minutes we received the menu. We then waited for half an hour, tried to make contact, but more attention was paid to the colleagues than the guests. We got up and paid, saying that it was taking too long for all of us. We barely received a response to this. In short, not recommended.

Beautiful terrace, just a pity that there was hardly any service. We waited for more than 30 minutes, approached the waiter but were not helped. Several customers on the terrace were complaining and people walked away without paying. Inside, the bar was a mess and most of the attention was focused on a group sitting inside. THIS IS A REAL SAD FOR SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION!

Good terrace to enjoy some drinks in a sunny day by the seaside.

Beautiful location with terrace. Lunch was the plan. Opted for the fish and chips. The chips/fries/fries were delicious but I don't recommend the fish. Cod was mentioned on the lunch menu. It was cod, but the thickness of half a file with a thin, non-crispy breadcrumb layer. My fish was also still cold inside. After sending it back, I received a new one that was actually barely cold. A shame about this frozen fish because it tasted like that and certainly not worth the 22.50 euros. The sandwiches that came by looked better.

A Grand cafe near a theater. That sounds good. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. Tables were dirty. Okay, she asked if she wanted to clean it. That was done. It took quite a while for the drinks to arrive. I didn't understand much about the menu, but it was ravioli. No cutlery included. That was achieved. The soup was delicious but the fries took a while. And wait, and wait. Because we were going to the theater, we paid. No, not the fries. Nice location but not for us anymore!!

The waitresses are not very customer friendly and I might even wanna say rude in dealing with the customers. We changed the seat after letting one waitress know and ordered more drinks. The one who served didn't notice the change which was the duty of the first waitress. The server treated us rude, arguing with us and even corrected us how to behave.

Op zoek naar een leuk restaurant kwamen we de Hop tegen. Lekkere kaart. Sober maar goed genoeg. Twee gerechten geprobeerd. De stoofvlees en tonijn. Stoofvlees gerecht was top. Zeer lekker. Goed bevallen. Het tonijn gerecht viel helaas tegen. Jammer van zo'n mooi stukje vis. Tonijn hoort rosé te worden opgediend. Dit stukje was amper 15 seconden elke kant gebraden waardoor nog voor 98% rauw. Zo stom dat ik deze niet heb teruggestuurd maar opgegeten. Daarnaast patat en grill groenten besteld, hetgeen een beperkt portie was voor de prijs balans. De Hop kan er echt iets moois van maken net deze kaart maar dan iets meer aandacht in de keuken svp.

De service is de slechtste die ik ken. Na 20 minuten op het terras te hebben gezeten heb ik zelf de vieze borden van de vorige gasten maar opgeruimd en aangegeven bij de serveester dat we na een lang stuk lopen graag wat willen drinken. Ze vertelde ons dat haar collega meteen bij ons zou komen. Na 10 minuten heb ik maar een collega van haar aangesproken en ook die vertelde me dat haar collega meteen bij me zou komen. Ik vroeg nog of ik bij haar wat kon bestellen maar ik zat niet aan haar tafel, dus nee. Na dus zo'n 35 minuten hebben zitten te wachten, niks te hebben kunnen bestellen en ook nog de tafel zelf te hebben afgeruimd zijn we vertrokken. Hier komen wij nooit meer terug en ik hoop oprecht dat vele mensen dit terras links zullen laten liggen.

After sitting at the table for 10 minutes waiting to be told you better go we are too busy. There were still places available on the terrace and empty inside?????

Delicious food, friendly service. Our theater visit was well taken into account. We didn't have to wait long at all for our food and drinks. Recommended for our next theater visit.

Posted a review here six months ago because the service was extremely poor and there were rats on the terrace. At that time we had to wait half an hour for service. Tried again a few days ago and after almost 20 minutes there was still no one at the table, so we left...

Very nice and knowledgeable staff, super tasty dishes! Prepared with care and very tasty, and a nice varied menu. We also sat in a lovely quiet spot which was very nice for our group, thanks for that! Only tip: an extra vegetarian hot main course, with 4 vegetarians we now had the ravioli on the table four times. Furthermore, really great, so much variety and again; staff was really great! Friendly and well informed, we will be back soon!

Had a nice meal before a performance in the theater

Food was delicious. But the service takes too long. Only take drinks half an hour after arrival. Food also took a very long time to serve. Coffee was already finished and then they came with the desserts. 3 toilets but 2 with a note "defective". The service came from the disabled toilet. Doesn't look neat. The negative points are a shame because the food was really great! Maybe pay more attention to this. When I read the reviews, more guests have experienced this.

Vriendelijke bediening, helaas wel erg onkundig (geen kaarsje aandoen, reserveringsbordje bleef op tafel staan, brood werd niet weggehaald wat ik op tafel legde waarvan ze wisten dat we het vies vonden). Soep was lekker, dat dan weer wel. Brood ernaast was gewoon een slap stuk snee brood uit de supermarkt. Daar hebben we wat van gezegd en toch kregen we bij de salade weer hetzelfde slappe brood. De schoonmaak mag ook wel weer een keer worden gedaan. De etensresten zat in de randen van de stoelzitting. Overal stofnesten. Dan niet te spreken over de kapotte bekleding van de armleuningen. Jammer, want de plek is erg leuk en kan heel wat van worden gemaakt met het oog op alle gasten die via de schouwburg kunnen komen.

Friendly service, unfortunately very incompetent (didn't light a candle, reservation sign remained on the table, bread was not taken away that I put on the table which they knew we thought was dirty). Soup was tasty, that's for sure. Bread next to it was just a weak piece of bread from the supermarket. We said something about that and yet we received the same weak bread with the salad. The cleaning may also be done again. The food scraps were stuck in the edges of the chair seat. Dust nests everywhere. Not to mention the broken upholstery of the armrests. Too bad, because the place is very nice and can be turned into a lot in view of all the guests who can come through the theater.

Nice place for a summer drink but in winter the wind will blow you away trying to get there haha 😅, luckyly they have an inside restaurant with a nice view to the lake.

Handy for a theater performance.

Croquettes were cold. Back to the kitchen. Back again in no time back to the table. And then they were a bit lukewarm. The ginger tea was also not at the right temperature.

Ordered latte and ginger tea. Took a very long time with a practically empty terrace. Delivered half warm and lukewarm. Ginger tea should be hot! A glass full of sheets...is not appropriate. In short, just bad!

Great stopover during a cycling tour around the Markermeer. We were able to put the bikes in plain sight and we were able to refuel nicely. Recommended!

Had high tea here. Very brief. For 4 people, each received 1 bun, 1 fried snack and some sweet snacks. They did not replenish the tea, we had to keep asking for it. I certainly wouldn't come back here for high tea.

Tonight, before a theater performance, I wanted to have a drink on the terrace. We arrived around 7:30 PM. At the bar I was hurriedly told that someone would come to us. Waiting, waiting and waiting again, and it wasn't that busy. Finally the order was taken, 2 beers, and we could wait again. We entered the theater at 8:10 PM because this wasn't really making any progress. Won't be coming back here again, what lousy service.

Voorjaarsmarkt in Hoorn en als de regen komt met zelfs onweer lopen we snel naar 't HOP. Een gezellige Grand cafe restaurant, we zijn er al vaker geweest. Tomatensoep is smakelijk en lekker warm zoals het hoort. Geitenkaas op vers bruin brood en tonijnsalade. Lekker is het en we zitten lekker droog!

I understand that there are no staff, but what is there? I must honestly say that the errors were neatly resolved.

Beautiful restaurant, beautiful view, delicious cakes.

The coffee is good and the view is beautiful, but the salads are seriously substandard. Based on far too many ice-cold, tough and tasteless sherry tomatoes, which have never seen sunlight and have apparently been in the refrigerator for far too long. The mountain of dry arugula also lacked any flavor or crunch, and were also quite stale. A quickly made snack without any care or creativity. What's on top no longer makes up for that, just like the little mayo and the few shavings of parmesan cheese. The knives to cut this tough, tasteless morsel were also blunt. With this quality of food for a high price, the catering industry is killing itself.

Beautifully laid out plates with delicious food. Not too much, just enough. The service is good, friendly and smiley. In the summer this is a beautiful place on the water with a terrace. We're going back.

Great restaurant to eat more often

De nieuwe indeling lijkt vooral om heel veel meer tafels te gaan. Wij hadden mazzel en kregen ons hoofdgerecht vrij snel. We zagen al in dat we beter geen voorgerecht konden bestellen. Links van ons kreeg niets, achter ons gaf het wachten op en vroeg de rekening, twee tafels naar rechts kreeg eerst het hoofdgerecht en daarna het voorgerecht. Totale chaos en heel hardwerkend bedienend personeel. Het restaurant moet kiezen voor een grotere keukenbrigade of minder tafels. Kwaliteit was ook veel slechter dan vroeger. Alles behalve wat echt moest leek uit een pakje te komen, tot het draadjesvlees aan toe. Frieten waren vet en onregelmatig gebakken. Mayonaise was zoet en kwam uit een potje (Calvé?). Vroeger kwam ik hier graag voorafgaand aan een voorstelling, maar voor de komende voorstellingen en seizoenen zoek ik een ander restaurant.

Heerlijk gegeten. Alle gerechten heel mooi gepresenteerd, bijna kunstwerken. Vlotte en keurige bediening. Top!

Ligt prachtig aan het IJsselmeer

Prachtig najaarsweer en dan zit je natuurlijk heerlijk op dit grote terras t'Hop aan de Westerdijk. Aardige medewerkers komen snel onze bestelling opnemen. De Pomodori soep weer een goed begin van de lunch. De mannen bruin 🍞 met geitenkaas en vijgen en wij bruin🍞met salade Tonijn. Borden zijn allemaal leuk opgemaakt en smakelijk.

Vriendelijke bediening en goed verzorgde lunch

Voorafgaand aan een bioscoopbezoek hebben mijn vrouw en ik gedineerd bij Grand Café 't Hop, met een Regio Deals arrangement. Gezien het aanvangstijdstip van de film hadden we gereserveerd om 17.30 uur en we waren de eerste gasten. We hebben echt heerlijk gegeten! De (extra) amuse, de geitenkaas, de kalfswang en het mix-dessert in een eetbaar (want chocolade) potje waren allemaal voortreffelijk! En de bediening was heel vriendelijk. Wat ons betreft: grote pluim voor de kok!

Leuk plekje voor een hapje en drankje, al moet je daar wel lang op wachten. Vooral als je op het terras zit is geduld een groot goed, personeel laat zich niet veel zien en tafels waren niet afgeruimd en vies.

Mooie plek om iets te drinken, lunchen. Jammer dat men het jonge personeel geen horeca instructies heeft geleerd. Met volle handen heen en met volle handen terug en doe die oogkleppen af. Lang wachten, vieze tafeltjes, maar als dan eindelijk de bestelling is opgenomen, wordt het wel weer snel geserveerd. Bij kundig personeel, zou deze zaak veel beter lopen en zeker 40% meer omzet behaald kunnen worden. Lijkt wel of de eigenaar of leidinggevende het zo wel goed vindt. JAMMER !!! Iedereen komt er toch om verwend te worden en om zijn geld kwijt te raken !!!

Prachtig uitzicht, aardige bediening.

Heerlijk gegeten, en het uitzicht op het markermeer is fantastisch. Bij mooi weer lekker op het terras buiten aan het water.

Het enige dat prettig was was de bediening. We kwamen er langs op weg naar huis. De restaurant ligt op een mooie plek. Het terras is d.m.v. een glazen wand afgescheiden van dat wat er achter ligt. Die glazen waren vergeven van het spinrag. We bestelden een maaltijdsalade tonijn met bruin brood en een hamburger. Het eerste bleek twee bruine boterhammen met tonijnsalade (uit een pakje?) een beetje sla en een in stukjes gesneden tomaat. De hamburger was een platgeslagen (fabrieks)bal gehakt op een broodje met sla, tomaat, saus, gebakken ui en gesmolten kaas. Echt dit kan niet. Een smakeloze hap.

Bij de reservering doorgeven dat we naar een voorstelling in het park zouden gaan. Toch duurt alles heel lang. Na 20 minuten zelf om de kaart gevraagd, na 15 minuten werd de bestelling opgenomen. Uiteindelijk alleen een hoofdgerecht kunnen eten, terwijl wij er 2 uur voor de aanvang van de show al waren. Verder waren ze de bestelde patat vergeten, dit kwam na vragen pas veel later. Na het eten hadden we nog een kwartier om wat te drinken, dit was geen probleem zeiden ze, maar na een kwartier waren de drankjes er nog niet. Deze dus weer afgezegd.

Hier habe ich die besten "Fish and Chips" meines Lebens gegessen. Die Pommes sind aus richtigen Kartoffeln und das sieht man sogar noch. Das Personal war beide Male sehr freundlich. Auf der Terrasse kann man direkt auf den See blicken.

Prima restaurant gelegen op een mooie locatie met een goede kaart. Eten was heerlijk en de bediening was vriendelijk. Kan je gerust binnenstappen.

Gelunched voorafgaand aan een voorstelling in de schouwburg. 1,5u vantevoren aanwezig. Zou toch genoeg moeten zijn voor soep en een broodje tonijn. Ondanks dat er ook mensen op het terras zaten was het niet echt druk. Toch duurde het bijna 45min voordat we de soep geserveerd kregen. Ook de drankjes werden wel opgenomen maar veel later gebracht. Direct afgerekend toen de broodjes kwamen, zodat we weg konden wanneer het nodig was. Uiteindelijk de laatste paar happen snel naar binnen gewerkt en ons flesje drinken mee genomen naar de schouwburg. Erg jong personeel, weinig aansturing, ze zagen niet altijd hun werk Erg jammer.

Een gezellige Heerlijke woensdag met onze buren hier gehad. Betty en ik een high wine en Martin en Dries biertjes met heerlijke hapjes. Alles rustig aan, vriendelijk, en erg smakelijk. Het was Genieten!

Een mooie lokatie! Eten is redelijk. Bediening vriendelijk. Verder en dat is jammer, ronduit een smoezelige tent! Het is er niet schoon!

Gisteravond daar gegeten. Gerechten mooi opgemaakt en goed van smaak. En ook goede bediening.

Door de negatieve recensies wisten we niet of we er goed aan deden om hier te gaan eten… Maar wij hebben hier echt heerlijk gedineerd! Prijs kwaliteit verhouding prima! Bediening was vlug en vriendelijk, ondanks dat het helemaal vol zat.

Wij kwamen er alleen voor een koffie met taartje binnen maar vond het niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Het was er erg stil, kwa bezoek maar ook geen achtergrond muziekje ofzo. Het voelde een beetje troosteloos aan. Verder wel vriendelijk personeel en lekkere carrotcake maar was wel maar op het bordje gekwakt. Erg zonde van zo'n mooie locatie met zulk uitzicht. Heeft zeker potentie, ook het terras. Hoop dat ze er ooit iets moois van maken.
