Today I had the pleasure of having lunch on the lovely terrace of Grand Café Wald. The welcome from the more than cheerful waitress alone makes you happy. Full of respect for the (older) company I was with. The menu has fine choices, not too extensive, just fine. Fortunately, the quality was also delicious. It is a bit too far away for me to go there often, but if I am in the area, I will certainly do so.

We were very enthusiastic about this restaurant due to the reviews. However, it was very disappointing when the starters arrived; the venison ragout and scallops lacked flavor. The carpaccio was fine. The main courses were good, but not worth a repeat visit. It is a shame, but we do not recommend this restaurant.

Yesterday afternoon, a high tea with a friend was delicious and definitely worth repeating. The service was excellent, the tea was always refilled, and you can even choose from all kinds of coffee. I've had many high teas, but this one was personally the tastiest for me!

I had high tea, which was far too little for the price of €27.50 per person. And the service was very curt. One pot of tea for 4 people, then I had to go and refill it myself. My daughter immediately ordered a chocolate sprinkles sandwich at home because she was still hungry. I wasn't asked if it was to my liking, so I asked myself, but they ignored me. In short, really not value for money, especially a shame. I only had lunch once, and it was good. My daughter was the one who treated me, so she was really disappointed.

We're spending a few days in beautiful Kollum. And we stumbled upon this wonderful establishment where we had a delicious lunch yesterday and an excellent dinner this evening. It has a very atmospheric and cozy atmosphere, and the staff is super friendly and efficient. We had a great time and will definitely be back 😁 One small point: pay attention to what's being said in the kitchen, as it can be literally understood.

In the northeast of the province of Friesland lies the cozy town of Kollum. Once a town hall, but now a restaurant with a pleasant terrace, I was invited in for a delicious bite to eat with my girlfriend. Relaxing on the couch under a parasol while the background sounds of a church choir pricked my ears. The atmosphere was friendly, and after beckoning the waitress, I said, "A cappuccino with a 12-hour meal, give me two!" Damn, what a treat that was. Highly recommended. Oant takom!

Ontzettend lekker gegeten, mooi opgemaakte borden. Ook de bediening was erg vriendelijk en attent. Ondanks dat het een drukke avond was, alle tafels waren vol, kon de bediening het goed overzien.

Had lunch here with my daughters. Before we went to the Kollumer museum. Nice outside in the sun with a twelve o'clock and a mackerel sandwich and two croquettes with bread. Hmmmmm.

For the small town of Kollum in green Friesland I would say it is a great place, nice outdoor terrace and great indoor environment. A good, quick lunch. It is suitable for many situations, from brunch to afternoon tea, it also winks at dinner. Very nice environment. The staff ok!

We had a delicious meal on the occasion of our 20th wedding anniversary. Enough choice, even for small children. Management thinks along well. Even though I'm a picky eater, there was plenty of choice. There are colors and coloring books available for the little ones. Thank you W and W!

Heerlijk gegeten bij Grand Café Wald! Wat een fantastische ervaring! Het vlees was super mals en perfect bereid. De mosterdsoep was uitmuntend – echt een aanrader! De bediening was vriendelijk en attent, wat de avond nog aangenamer maakte. Daarnaast is de sfeer in het restaurant erg gezellig, waardoor je je meteen welkom voelt. Kortom, een topadres voor een heerlijke maaltijd. Wij komen zeker terug!

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of the B&B where we stayed. What a beautiful place and one of the owners (whom I recognized from the photo on the website) seemed positive and friendly during our visit. Compliments also to Wytse who served us that evening. Good explanation of what could be ordered outside the menu and he kept a close eye on everything. Food is prepared with care and an eye for detail. The bread is nicely served with 2 types of cheese from the oven and we had a great meal. One of the nicer restaurants in the region.

Be careful when going to the toilet: steep stairs down, a kind of threshold for the first step. But otherwise a gem in Kollum.

Alles top - wat wil een mens nog meer ? Als westerlingen prettig verrast! Een aanrader! ‘ t enig verbeterpunt is in het gedeelte met de open keuken, de akoestiek. Dit zou wellicht wat milder kunnen maar ‘t was beslist niet storend.

After a ride to the Triemen for a beech hedge, we drove back through Kollum to look for a place to have lunch. We ended up here at Grand Cafe Wald. Nice establishment, very neat and nice styling. Service is very friendly and the food is simply delicious, I really liked the salad with walnuts with the ham and cheese sandwich, it was the first time that I ate the salad completely as a side dish. The carpaccio sandwich was also very tasty. The bread was also very tasty with a wonderfully crispy crust. We like that! We can say that Grand Cafe is highly recommended.

Wir waren zum Abendessen dort. Erstklassiges Essen, Vorspeise und auch Hauptgang richtig lecker! Es wurden qualitativ hochwertige Lebensmittel verarbeitet. Wir haben auch nicht lange aufs Essen warten müssen, obwohl das Lokal gut besucht war. Lediglich der Service ließ etwas mit den zweiten Getränken auf sich warten. Aber dies war wie gesagt das volle Lokal schuld. Auch ein sehr schönes ansprechendes Ambiente. Top! Wir kommen bei Gelegenheit gerne wieder.

Very charming cafe to eat or drink something. It was formerly the Kollum town hall. We returned to this beautiful cafe to have a coffee and cake and the truth is that it was very delicious.

It took us 3 hours for three courses and we constantly had to wait for a long time. The service only came if you fixed your eyes on it. They weren't interested in the guests. The pork tenderloin was so overcooked that it was tough. Food was average.

We are in the area for the weekend, so we would like to go out for dinner. Chose this restaurant, even though it is a 25-minute drive. No regrets. Delicious food, nice service and good atmosphere. Personally, I don't like sauce with meat, but the sauce from blue de Wolvega is really brilliant with my ribeye!

The former town hall of Kollumerland has been in use as a restaurant for 3 days. A beautiful location, a national monument, where this reviewer started his career in 1973. It is located in the center of the beautiful village of Kollum. The menu is good, reasonably extensive and the prices are not high in relation to what is offered. The service is friendly and the chefs are clearly visible from the dining room. Nice. The quality is good and small things, a glass of water with coffee, make it complete. Recommended. The quality is increasing. For our anniversary we were offered two glasses of wine! Very attentive. Have now tasted the autumn menu. And it keeps getting better. Unbelievable! Lunch and pastries are also recommended. Had drinks today: delicious snacks. The new map is another challenge!

We had dinner there at Christmas, everyone was very friendly, but of course it's about the food, the starter was fine, the meat of the main course was tough. The dessert was the tastiest. Heerlijk gegeten. De jus met Beerenburg was echt een smaakvolle verrassing bij het vlees. Kregen een drankje aangeboden omdat het eten 10 minuutjes langer op zich liet wachten. Vriendelijke bediening. Aanrader.

Es waren mit Abstand die besten Burger, die wir jemals hatten. Die reinste Geschmacksexplosion am Gaumen. Zum Dessert gab es Crème Brûlée und einen warmen Brownie aus dem Ofen, abschließend einen Espresso. Einfach hervorragend ❤️❤️❤️
