Lovely atmosphere, lovely customer service and best of all great halal food . Would recommend highly and come back again.

The service was excellent! The owner was very helpful and helpful.

We were a group of eight Spaniards. The service was incredibly fast and the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable. The place was clean and we had plenty of room for all eight of us to sit at the same table.

Chef Sam , is one of the most worldieat peiple i have met in my life(and after talking to him, i was proven right, because od his experience in the food industry) Not just the food, but talking to him was an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend.

They made our kapsalon with honour. The grill donny carries his restaurant with passion for what he does.

The owner was a fantastic host. We had veggie falafel wrap and it was one of the best. The falafel was fresh and had rich in flavors. We definitely would like to go back again in our short 3-day trip to Amsterdam.

We came from London and this "Geezer" Sam was exceptionally helpful. His English was bang on like he comes from London directly. He helped us try some sauces and his knowledge is perfect. The food was amazing to eat! Defo coming back mateee

Top! The man who serves and prepares the food is very friendly. It was 3 a.m. on Thursday and everything was closed; when we arrived, Grill Donny was also closing, but he served us anyway. It was absolutely delicious!

Great kebab spot! The two guys working there are from Egypt and were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I had the lamb kebab and it was really delicious, well seasoned, juicy, and clearly made with care. Definitely a place I’d come back to when in Amsterdam.

One of the best meals I had in Amsterdam was at Grillroom Donny. We ordered the Kapsalon and a Falafel wrap, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly prepared. The Kapsalon was satisfying and well balanced, and the Falafel wrap was crisp, flavorful, and not heavy at all. Prices were very reasonable for Amsterdam and the portion sizes were great. The staff were friendly and the place had a nice, relaxed feel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam, and I would happily come back.

After reading the reviews, we took our chances and went in. We'd never had such a terrible experience. We ordered two ham and cheese sandwiches. The ham was black, and the cheese smelled like feet after a long run. I thought, "Maybe looks can be deceiving," but in the meantime, the owner was busy wiping the counter with a rag, dropping the residue into the sandwich mix—all in front of customers. When we got home, we had our first taste. I'll leave you to imagine the ending...

This place truly serves the best grilled döner in all of Amsterdam. The meat is exceptional perfectly grilled, full of flavor and clearly made with care. What makes the experience even better is the outstanding service. The staff are incredibly helpful and take the time to explain everything clearly, from the ingredients to the different options on the menu. Their friendliness and attention make you feel welcome the moment you walk in.

Best man from Egypt working here, he was funny and generous with jokes and food. We haven't tried anything more delicious during our stay in Amsterdam than the food he makes. Hope to have same experience as my girlfriend and me. Much love from both of us🥰 P.s. save that Serbian money😜

To everyone who want to eat here , dont , the dude will literally scam you if you want to pay by card he will make you pay more because of the so called " its normal brother pay card pay taxes pay cash no taxes " what an idiotic statetement that show zéro respect for the customer . When I confronted him about the lack of this information anywhere he became mad and started to say non sense since he saw we we're not eating it.

Unfriendly, we asked a question about the visa fee which is not mentioned anywhere, and he immediately became aggressive, I do not recommend.

Money-making scheme, they lure you in with prices on the menu, but once you have to pay, they add a few euros!

I was on vacation in Amsterdam for 3 days and I had the pleasure and satisfaction of going to this restaurant. The service was very good; we were very well received, attended to, and served. The sandwich we ate was a chicken and cheese one, which had plenty of cheese and was delicious. We also ordered a pizza that was served piping hot. In addition, we were given two stuffed potatoes that were spectacular. I should definitely come back and leave my recommendation... It's really worth it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The owner speaks fluent English and is incredibly friendly! I came here because I wanted to try Capsalon before returning home. The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean. It was a bit salty, but this is subjective and may vary from person to person.

Food is hit and miss. Mostly miss- Do not get the churros from here. Service is absolutely awful. Burger was really bad too. Try burgerbar or literally anywhere else on earth. The guy tried overcharging us hoping nobody would notice. When you mention something, he starts having a panic attack and screaming. Also no hygiene. I watched the guy finish a cigarette, wipe his nose, and then serve a customer without hand washing or gloves. Atmosphere is just below average/typical amsterdam tourist shop. Nothing special or great. Overall, avoid

The lamb kebab was delicious. The chicken kebab was a bit salty for me. The portions were just right, so I was very full. The person who took our order was very cheerful and friendly. Everything was great, but when I got the bill, I was a little surprised. It was higher than I expected. I didn't realize there were hidden charges. I had a delicious and satisfying meal, so I paid with my card without complaint. However, when I got back to my room and checked my card statement, I saw that they had charged me 1 euro more. They had added tax, and they had charged me for the mayonnaise and ketchup separately, and they had also charged me a card fee. Even though it was only 1 euro, we felt cheated and went to a different restaurant the next day.

Absolutely horrendous service for below average food. Waited 30 minutes for a falafel wrap and didn’t complain. People who ordered way after me were served before and finished before I even got my food. Don’t bother.

I ordered chicken and chips here and it was excellent — proper, traditional style. The food was fresh and tasty, and the service really stood out. The man serving was incredibly friendly, polite, and respectful. He took the time to advise me on good food options and made sure I knew they also offer halal, which was a big plus. We wanted something quick and not overpriced for lunch so we walked into Grill Donny's and got a chicken wrap each The wrap was amazing, made with care and all wrapped nicely to eat. The bloke was brilliant as well. Spoke excellent English and was lovely to chat to as well Highly recommend if you fancy some grub to eat in or out

Very confused about all these 5 star reviews. We visited recently and were disappointed, he just reheated all the food that was in the fridge and gave us these dirty paper plates which you could tell were used from before. And the thing that disgusted me the most was that he scammed us. He seemed like a polite man but turns out I was wrong. We ordered 2 pizzas and fries which were meant to be 15ish euros. But I paid 22 euros! He really seemed like a genuine person but I am absolutely appalled after that experience. Atrocious place. Avoid at all costs.

Surprisingly, I was reading through the reviews and they had quite positive experiences but ours was completely the opposite.The only reason we gave 2 stars rather than 1 is because the owner clarified to us all the food was halal in a polite way.We ordered pizza and we noticed they just reheated the pizza which was just lying there, rather than making it fresh. Some of the food we ordered was burnt and the person served lots of people who came in after us way before us. Our order wasn't even that large for us to be served last. Waste of money.

Friendly staff and decent food for a normal price by Amsterdam standards

The gentleman (I’m assuming the owner) was amazing. I walked in not knowing what I wanted, he recommended the Doner box, explained everything inside of it and encouraged us to take a seat and enjoy. He brought us our food, was very sweet to other patrons and the food was a m a z i n g. I couldn’t finish it and he wrapped it up to go for me and my friend. Highly highly recommend. He also speaks multiple languages, including English :) will update post with photos I took once they’re developed :)

We got food poisoning after eating from this restaurant ,never again went 20 times to toilet a friend of mine threw up immediately after .go eat there at your own risk

Highly recommended ❤️ I went there with my boyfriend for a quick snack and ordered two small fries with ketchup. We paid €8.80 for the fries and 0.80 cents each for the sauce. He didn't skimp on the sauce either. We both had enough ketchup for all our fries 😅. Super cheap for Amsterdam, and the man working there was super nice. He translated the menu into German for us and even brought us napkins because I couldn't find them 🥹🥹 Definitely go there if you want good value for money ‼️‼️
