Just had the best red chicken curry ever. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Very friendly staff; I even got a table without a reservation. If I'm ever in town again, this will be my first stop.

I really don't understand why people come here. During my visit, I had a very unpleasant experience with the owner. He made remarks that seemed racist to me. He said this while looking straight at me, which made it even more awkward. I've never experienced anything like this before. What I especially don't understand is that a large portion of the clientele here is not Dutch. Because of this, I strongly felt that the owner was being derogatory towards the very demographic that, in my opinion, is his main source of income. That was incomprehensible and disappointing to me. When I read other reviews later, it seemed as if more people had had similar negative experiences. Besides all this, the food was also disappointing. The spareribs were hard and burnt, the sushi was bone dry, and the fries were soggy. For me, this is a one-time experience.

Cozy and with plenty of choices, something for everyone. My favorite dish is Krapau! Even though it's often busy, orders are generally handled well.

My boyfriend and I eat at Koh's every week. It's always delicious, the service is great, and the atmosphere is friendly. I highly recommend it!

The restaurant we dined at was impressive from start to finish. The staff was professional and friendly, and we immediately felt welcome. The menu offered a wide selection of dishes, and everything sounded equally appealing. I chose a goat cheese salad as a starter, followed by a perfectly prepared prime rib. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful and meticulously detailed. The wine suggestion was a perfect match. The restaurant's interior was stylish and elegant. The tables were beautifully set, and the lighting created a warm atmosphere. The service remained attentive and caring throughout the evening. This restaurant is definitely a place I'll return to.

We had a wonderful time! A family of four, including two young girls, had a delicious meal with a nice, extensive menu. Friendly service, who regularly stopped by to ask if everything was to our liking and to clear the table. We found the price/quality ratio to be excellent. Koh-koh nut shake for €5.50, and the bobatea too.

Unfortunately, this wasn't a pleasant experience. Upon entering, we were initially greeted by a very young boy, but he immediately walked away. We followed him, assuming he was taking us to a table. To our surprise, however, he went straight to the kitchen to grab a plate of food and serve it. We stood there in indignation and were not spoken to or helped at all. We also noticed that there were two tables for two and one for four vacant in the corner. When we asked if we could sit there, we were told they were reserved for a group of six. Later, however, a group of four and a group of two arrived and were seated at those same tables. The explanation that the table was intended for a group of six simply turned out to be untrue. When our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm, the meat was dry, and everything seemed reheated. The food was truly awful and very disappointing. The mocktails were also a major disappointment. A very small glass, filled with about 80% ice cubes and only 20% juice. We pointed this out, but nothing was done about it. The manager didn't even come over to inquire about our dissatisfaction or to address it. Yet, the mocktails were still on the bill. For the prices charged, we really expected much better. Absolutely not recommended; we will never return and certainly won't recommend this restaurant to others. Finally, the owner doesn't need to react with an attitude like he has in other reviews. Everything I write is true and correct.

Online order: Tom Ka Kai, duck spring rolls, Yam Neau Beef salad, Sweet and Sour Chicken. €40, ...if you want rice with your main course, pay extra. If you want to pay via iDEAL, €0.35, ...if you want delivery, €2.75. I was done with it, but my wife went to pick it up. The staff was trained to avoid complaints; management was not present. Once home, the soup was tasteless, the beef salad was okay, the spring rolls were almost cold, and the sweet and sour chicken had four pieces of meat. Conclusion: only Merza and Mchi are still interesting in IJburg. Everything in the harbor is bad, overpriced, and not worth recommending. So we won't be ordering from them again. The owner's reaction is also unusual. The lowest price is €0.05, but on the website it's €0.35. The fact that the food isn't special apparently doesn't deserve a comment. August 25th. My wife ordered something again. Sweet and sour chicken with two whole pineapple cubes, a salad, and extra-burnt yakatori. After complaining by phone, a new one was brought, but the phone was slammed down the old-fashioned way. This time, the photo of the extra-cooked yakatori is included.

I've been coming here for years, and I've recommended this restaurant to dozens of people, but after my last visit, I'm ashamed I ever sent anyone this way. (I will NEVER recommend this place again.) The portions have gotten ridiculously small, the prices have skyrocketed, and the food is simply disgusting. Several times I received dishes that were clearly reheated and spoiled—rotten vegetables, and meat that absolutely stinks. This isn't cooking anymore; this is ripping people off. And then there's the "service"... What a joke. You're completely ignored, you have to shout three times before anyone notices you, and there are only inexperienced teenagers walking around who have no idea what they're doing. Wrong orders, wrong bills, and if you say anything about it, they look at you like you're a nuisance. This happened to me not once, but several times. The last time, the people I brought with me asked, "Why are you praising this so much?" Their reaction made me realize they're absolutely right and I'll never spend my money on them again! The owner is the epitome of arrogance. No apology, no compensation, not a shred of professionalism. Instead, he stands in the middle of the restaurant, irritably lecturing his staff about why they keep charging the wrong tables, right in front of customers. This isn't just embarrassing, it's deeply sad and extremely unprofessional. And if you read his comments on Google Reviews, it becomes even worse: childish, passive-aggressive, unprofessional, and completely unsuitable for running a restaurant. I'm not the only one; many residents of IJburg experience this too. This restaurant thrives on its old reputation, but it's completely gone down the drain! Waste of money. Waste of time. Please go somewhere else; this is absolutely NOT worth it.

Yummiest Thai food I have ever eaten. And the fried rice that comes along with it also really tasty. Loved the Virgin pina colada and the brown sugar milk tea (could have been less sweet though). But service, so chaotic!!! You can see they struggle through the busyness. I would definitely come again for the good food though :D

KOH has a beautiful location at the harbor of IJburg. We sat with a large group on the terrace, enjoying the sunshine. The area is bustling with people, but unfortunately, due to the main road, the traffic of cars and motorcycles can be a bit distracting at times. The food was superb, with distinctive flavors and a surprising variety. The staff were busy serving guests quickly, but still managed to provide us with drinks and a plate of something tasty every time. Kitchen of Happiness lives up to its name and is therefore highly recommended.

Only thing positive is the food, if you are very lucky your food comes after you have had your drink for half an hour whether it is warm is still the question. There are also only children working, Moroccan tent!

This was one of the worst experiences I've had in Amsterdam. I completely understand that restaurants are busy, especially outside seating when it's nice outside. When I visited, it was early, and they were not busy. I was told only the manager can seat people. I waited 5-10 minutes for the manager. He acted like it was horrible that I was alone. He said I could sit by the water. In the sun it got incredibly hot, so I asked to move to an open table in the shade. I was told I couldn't because they might need to push the tables together for a larger party. People travel alone and shouldn't be treated poorly just because someone else might come in later. When I ordered a tuna bowl, I ordered quinoa. The tuna said grilled and came raw. I don't care about that, but it needs to say that. The quinoa seemed to be mixed with something else as well. Just for people with allergies, the menu should state what you're getting. I was expecting better from a decent restaurant in a nice area by the water.

I went to KOH for the first time yesterday, everything was great until next time

In one word: fantastic!!! We came for dinner for the first time, because we come from outside the city. It felt good from the start. The food was super tasty, with enough choice without it becoming confusing. Everything was well seasoned and clearly freshly prepared. What was also noticeable: the staff is young, but does their job professionally and with pleasure. You can tell that attention has been paid to their training. You don't see that everywhere. We ate outside on the terrace and later went inside for coffee and dessert. Both places had a nice atmosphere. You can just tell that they have invested in the whole place, both in the team and in the appearance. We will definitely come back! Greetings, Moo

As a regular customer of KOH we ordered a Thai rice table last week for a party at our house. Quickly arranged for a good price but above all incredibly tasty. Many different dishes where they also offered to add nice bowls and serving spoons. Our guests were very enthusiastic. So for tasty Thai dishes you have to go to KOH. By the way, the poke bowl is also great, I had that today 😀.

I eat at (or order from) KOH often enough to be able to say you can never go wrong with them. The food is amazing, imo one of the best Thai restaurants in Amsterdam.

There is no point in making a reservation because they don't do that, it turned out. And oh yeah...the kitchen closes at 20.15. My so-called reservation was 20.00 (a bit later because of parking) only got a table at 20.30 and had to order everything at once...kitchen closed.... Got up and left. Bye birthday...

I'm just being really honest. After a long time, finally a restaurant where ALL dishes were genuinely DELICIOUS. They are also friendly and when the weather is nice it is a very nice atmosphere!

This place is my all time fav. If I don't know what I'm in the mood for, I can be found here. You have plenty of choice and the food also tastes very good. It is also located in a beautiful location in IJburg. It can be busy in the evening, so I would definitely make a reservation.

Really funny where these great reviews come from 🤔 - We didn't get anything to drink on the first try, even though we had mentioned paying straight away and only having something to drink - supposedly they wanted to close straight away - on the second attempt everything was supposedly reserved, even though there were still seats available - were in the neighboring restaurant and saw it - on the third attempt we went there an hour in advance to reserve a table - you had to get the manager who couldn't promise save either - we should come by and then we'll see. Then got a table, moved again to a better one - waited at least a quarter of an hour for the waitress to order drinks - then went there and let us know - another 25 minutes until the food was ordered and then suddenly there was no more sushi. The edamame that we fortunately ordered with the drinks were only lukewarm and with the rest of the food that came at some point we simply forgot one item. Well, all in all, it's certainly a cool restaurant right at the marina - the other guests' food also looked very tasty, but somehow the service was totally disorganized - completely haphazard - everyone does everything and then doesn't - once and never again

The food is tasty, but the service is poor, you run back and forth and they still arrive late with drinks/coffee or whatever. Save yourself the trouble of ordering a cappuccino or café latte because there is no difference and it is not drinkable, if you say something you are looked at askance. They still have to work on that, smooth service and receiving feedback!

We absolutely loved our dinner here, we are so happy we chose to come here while on our vacation. This is an amazing restaurant, the portions are big and the food is divine. The atmosphere is a little loud and chaotic when the restaurant is full, but we still had a great time here. There are a lot of options to choose from, we went for tacos, pad thai and fries (french fries were out of this world). I recommend you get here before 8pm, because the kitchen closes at 8.30pm. Don't forget to try their homemade green tea!

We eat or order takeout from this place quite often. The price/quality is really in balance and you receive good food for your money. The crew, however young sometimes, is always very friendly. They also have the best iced coffee (frozen cappuccino) on Ijburg, in which I indulge too often haha. Additionally, they have sandwiches during lunch hours that are also really nice.

Have eaten here a few times now with colleagues. The food is delicious and super varied. Something for everyone and not expensive. The restaurant is also nicely decorated. The staff is young and friendly, but they are not very fast. We had to wait a long time for our drinks every time. The serving of the food was also not smooth and not correct. There was more than half an hour between the serving of the dish of the first colleague and the last. So we did not really eat together nicely. They also did not hear of clearing up between dishes. You have to ask for everything 2 or 3 times. Even the wait for the bill took a long time. After having had this service 3 times, there will not be a 4th time. Really a shame, because it is a nice restaurant.

Had a business lunch with a group last week. Food was tasty. The door was often opened, allowing a cold draft to enter. And the area towards the toilet was very messy.

I occasionally dine at this restaurant, and overall, I truly enjoy their cuisine. However, I’ve noticed that they sometimes use an abundance of onions. On my most recent visit, when I ordered the tofu with vegetables, I found that nearly 90% of the vegetables were onions. Unfortunately, this made my experience less enjoyable than I had hoped for.

I had called in advance and made a reservation. The employee on the phone indicated that there was room. However, when I arrived, the floor manager told me something completely different. He asked who I had spoken to and then claimed that his staff made no guarantees about availability – just that I could come by and try. This is incredibly misleading and poorly organised. Moreover, the attitude of the floor manager was far from customer-friendly. In any case, I won't be coming back here again. Really disappointing service! Furthermore, there is poor internal communication and underage staff without catering experience. I would rather spend my money at a place where I am served with respect and more professionally.

Price/quality ratio excellent. ALONE It's a shame that only children work in the ministry with little to no experience. Service level is very low on weekends.

We walked in with a reservation in full tent. Owner immediately walked up to us and welcomed us. It was super full and understandable that you couldn't be seated right away. We decided to take a walk ourselves and were offered a drink to wait a while. In principle it was arranged after 5 minutes and we could be seated immediately. Compliments to the owner, chef and service. We once came to eat here on the recommendation of a friend, and will certainly recommend others to come and taste the different cuisines. See you soon

Nice place, good food, reasonably priced

If you want to experience diarrhea and vomiting, you should definitely order food from Koh restaurant. My husband and I almost died from spoiled duck. We were regular customers of this restaurant, but we will never order from here again.

Waited for more than an hour and then got a dish that I didn't want. More often than not, dishes are forgotten, etc. Also found is a dead mouse on a chair. This is also the last time I ever eat here again. And the owner is great that you thought of a solution, but not really

My wife and I both got food poisoning from last night's dinner. We suspect that the duck spring rolls are the cause. It is advisable to check whether the ingredients and preparation processes are in line with the required hygiene standards.

I've been coming here for a long time and the food is always good. But after my visit today I noticed that they are cutting back on portions. The Pad Thai has almost halved since a different plate is used. A tip for the people at the restaurant: keep this in mind, because it really shouldn't be worth it. Make sure the quality remains high, otherwise you will certainly lose customers. The rest of the food is fine, but this is a real downside.

I eat here for the second time. The first time I had Thai, it was really tasty, but the 2nd time I had finger food and it was very disappointing. The service is very top and so is the atmosphere. Only drawback is parking. Tip carpooling if you go by car.

KOH IJburg is highly recommended! We had a delicious meal here with a variety of dishes in a cozy atmosphere. The price-quality ratio is more than excellent. Unfortunately, it is not around the corner for us and they do not deliver in Emmen, but if we are in the area again, we will definitely come back!

It was extremely busy, but given the quality of the business, that is understandable. Although my friend and I did not have a reservation, a spot was quickly found for us and we received excellent service from a young, enthusiastic and committed team. The quality of the dishes was very high, and for an attractive price. The experience was alright, there was a huge variety of food and drinks which was good but the waitress seemed to be annoyed and desinteressted. The food tasted pretty good but it was nothing spacial. The prices for the portions were perfekt. The worst was definitely the Piri Piri chicken it was a disaster and had no flavour. Could have definitely been better.

At first no one felt responsible, then when we were already sitting at a table, it was reserved for larger groups/or for something else. It's a shame that you tried to look for another table, there were about 8 other tables available, but you didn't seem to really want to serve guests, let alone earn money. Regrettable.... There were several guests standing on the side of the road who were only very slowly directed to one of the free tables. We ordered drinks and food together. Everything except the kids' mocktails came very quickly. We requested the mocktails several times and they finally came when we had already finished eating. That's why there is a deduction for the service. Otherwise the food is very authentic and tasty, and fresh. We sat outside at the marina overlooking the IJsselmeer.

Erratic quality - started off great a year ago but now Barstow & KOH are mostly disappointing with often bad quality food. You never know if it will be good or terrible & food often tastes like gas. Was much better a year ago

Initially I only gave a star rating, but after the owner responded with “kisses” I decided to share my experience. After seeing several videos on TikTok from food vloggers who recommended this restaurant, we decided to try it. There was hardly any service, you were not helped, had to call the staff several times to order, but they never came. The waiters were mainly teenagers who apparently had little or no experience and who mainly stayed in the middle of the terrace near the computer instead of helping their guests. After a long wait, half of our order finally arrived, we called the staff because we didn't have cutlery yet but no one showed up, then I got up to get the cutlery myself because otherwise the food would already be cold. Well, half that is, because they never brought the other half. The food wasn't good either, it didn't taste good and looked more like ready-made dishes from a bain-marie. Dear owner, thank you for the 'kisses', if you have this restaurant to attract as many customers as possible with tiktok and make as much money as possible in a short time, I can only give you my compliments! But if you want a pleasant evening with good food, it is better to change the name of your restaurant to Kitchen Of Sadness because in my experience that is more appropriate.

Ate here recently, and although it looked promising, it was disappointing on several levels. The concept of street food sounds attractive, but unfortunately the food was very tasteless. It was so bad that me and the group I was with left a lot behind. I never got the main course. I've only had the accompanying noodles, and even those were disappointing. Asked three times (with great difficulty) and finally left at the end of the evening without a main course. The service was downright bad. We had to wait a long time to even be able to order. Had to struggle to get the attention of the staff several times, while they were chatting at the terrace and almost doing their best to avoid contact with the guests.

Very chilled out place, you can order here not only Thai food, but also some Mexican and American from the restaurants next to it. We ordered quite a mix: hamburger- which was honestly very good and balanced tastes; french fries- one of the best ones I tried in Amsterdam, crispy and tasteful; avocado sushi roll- rather American style as they added mayonnaise but still good, and tacos with chicken- super good and fresh. The staff was kind, but not too smiley. We will be back to try more!
