The soup of the day was exceptionally tasty.

The waitress was all alone but she did manage to get it all done despite a full restaurant - very tasteful- nice atmosphere and friendly service

We enjoyed a fantastic, plentiful meal here on our first night in Amsterdam. The fried chicken spring rolls were gorgeous in particular! The staff were very friendly and courteous too. The only thing I’d say is that the restaurant would benefit from some gentle music and mood lighting perhaps to give it a cosier ambience, as it felt a little too quiet — everyone could hear each other’s conversations. On the whole this restaurant is a little gem in terms of the food though and we would’ve definitely returned if we’d been in Amsterdam for longer.

Delicious food! Several vegetarian options and also easily gluten-free. The broth in the vegetarian pho was very flavorful (which isn't always the case). Very centrally located near Amsterdam's city center.

It's a cozy restaurant with friendly staff. We had to wait a bit for our food because of a specific dish (the menu indicated it might take longer), about 30 minutes, but it was more than worth it. The food was delicious and everything was so full of flavor. I'll definitely be back because everything was so good!

The waiter, he was really rude to me. I was asking questions to him, about the menu and reservation policies... He made me look like I am stupid, I was just trying to find out. I've never experienced this before. I always treat waitress and waiters really respectfully. He did not. Anyway, the food is good. But hospitality I don't think so. Hope you can change the way you treat the customers.

Last weekend, our family took a short trip from Germany to the Netherlands. Since we didn't arrive in Amsterdam until around 8 p.m., we decided to try a Vietnamese restaurant to recapture the familiar taste of home. After searching, we settled on the Hanoi Old Quarter. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the waitress took our order quickly. Unfortunately, our experience was not pleasant at all—and we probably won't be returning. 1. Parking Situation The kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m., the restaurant at 10 p.m. We arrived around 8:30 p.m.—it was already dark, our child is only one year old, and after a long day of traveling, we were all pretty exhausted. We tried to find a parking space using an app, but all the nearby spaces were full. As tourists unfamiliar with the area, we were a bit confused and just wanted to park quickly so we could eat together. 2. Owner's Behavior This was the point that really negatively impacted our experience. ``` •When we asked about parking, we received only an evasive answer: "You can park anywhere here." So my cousin continued looking while we (two adults and a toddler) went inside. •After we ordered, we wanted to wait for my cousin to eat together – out of politeness. During this time, the owner complained several times to the waitress: "You can park anywhere, but you have to pay." She repeated it two or three times, as if she wanted to reproach us, even though we had clearly stated that it wasn't about the money, but rather the lack of parking. •She also said things like: "If you drive a car, you should know where to park." Sorry – we're just tourists and just wanted to ask if she had any advice. Or was it because we're also Vietnamese and younger than her, which lacked respect? •Throughout the meal, we constantly heard her loudly reprimanding the young waitress. After a strenuous day, we just wanted to eat in peace – instead, we had to listen to this. In Vietnam, you might be familiar with "Bún chửi" or "Phở chửi," but in Europe, respect for guests should be a given. •When we ordered two egg coffees, she immediately started complaining about ingredients and opening hours. We felt like she didn't want to serve us anymore. We stayed only because we had a small child with us and didn't want to keep changing restaurants. 3. About the Food Of course, the unpleasant circumstances influenced our impression of the food, but here's my assessment anyway: •Nem cua (crab spring rolls): Deep-fried several times, therefore burnt, oily, and bitter. •Bún chả: The meat was aromatically grilled, but bland and very little in proportion to the price. The sauce was watery and tasteless. •Phở bo tái: little meat, bland broth, lacking depth. 4. Prices In my opinion, the quality is disproportionate to the price. ❗ I don't want to "badmouth" anyone. But after more than 10 years in Europe and numerous trips, this was unfortunately the worst experience I've ever had in a Vietnamese restaurant abroad.

Visiting Amsterdam and craving some warm pho on a rainy day. They were extremely busy that Saturday evening so I’m glad I called ahead to reserve a large table for 6. We really wanted to try everything unfortunately they were not able to make all of their menu items like salads, spring rolls, and bo la lot because they were so busy. But their pho chin (brisket) made up for it. Nice tender slices of beef brisket and very good broth. $3 extra for additional meats/meatballs. The crispy chicken eggrolls were really good too. A little pricey for pho but expected in Europe. The service was nice and welcoming as well. This place definitely hits the spot for pho seekers. I found my pho spot in Amsterdam.

Amazing Vietnamese restaurant! We tried several dishes and it’s clear that the preparation behind the dishes it’s top notch, you can taste each flavour clearly. The broths were excellent! The service was great, the waitress took some time to guide us through the menu and was always smiley, she answered all our questions with thoroughness. You definitely have to try this amazing restaurant!

Everything on the menu is gluten free except the fried spring rolls. I missed bun Cha after my travels in Vietnam so to find this in Amsterdam was amazing. The fresh prawn spring rolls and the bun cha were 10/10!

A comida estava regular. Não entregou o prometido! O atendimento também deixou muito a desejar! Nossos pratos chegaram em tempos diferentes quase 20 minutos entre o primeiro prato entregue e o último. Acho que faltou organização na cozinha e proatividade do garçom.

A nice little traditional viernamese restaurant with traditional cuisine. Menu card is not that huge but also a few vegetarian options available. Sommer rolls are delicious and also the vegetarian bowl. Portions are really large enough to fill you up properly.

There were insects in the honey and sugar jar, at that time ginger tea wanted to drink visibly floating in the cup. Spring roll that, after frying, is completely soaked in with frying oil that drips off after the first bite, indicated but unfortunately nothing was done with it. Unfortunately no compliments either, so it's the first and last time I eat there.

We tried a pho restaurant in Amsterdam, but unfortunately, the pho was quite bland and lacked the rich, distinctive flavor of authentic Vietnamese pho. We couldn’t even finish our bowls. On the bright side, the fresh spring rolls were pretty good, and the dipping sauce was tasty. However, the experience was a bit uncomfortable because the owner seemed very strict and kept scolding the staff throughout our visit.

Great food but confusing service...

We finally found a place that served Bun Cha which we were so excited about. Flavour was pretty good, it was maybe like warm and we were hoping for a hot bowl which was definitely disappointing. It was pricey but this is Amsterdam city center so that’s everywhere. Also really annoying they don’t serve tap water at all so you have to buy a bottle which is plastic.

We came in here for our evening meal. Absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend.

Amazing food, went there early. Wasn't very busy. Some vegetarian dishes weren't available for my friend . PHO brisket was the best! Also loved the spring rolls. Drinks are a bit expensive in comparison.

Cozy place. But the most important is the food. Had the vegi pho, a mix of dried and fresh mushrooms, and quite a few different types for a very gentle flavour. The spices are also high quality and well prepared, so the final soup has depth and very balanced flavours. The size might seem small from the photos, but really, I felt it’s as the same size as others, just cause the differences between the designs of the bowls.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant, the Pho is incredible!

This is absolutely the most authentic Vietnamese food I have ever had in the Netherlands. I chose Bun Cha, it is a must when you visit here. The flavor and smell of grilled meatballs remind me of the ones I had on the streets of Hanoi. The food also came faster than we were told. The vibe of historic Hanoi city also comes from the subtle decoration and pictures. Had such a wonderful experience and will definitely come here again with my friends.

I asked the waiter whether I can use the restroom or buy sth to use it. They refused not caring about the fact I was ready to pay. Hope one day you guys will be in the same situation when nobody allows you to use the restroom and you will end up peeing in your pants! Definitely a no-go place in Amsterdam with such attitude to people.

I really enjoy the Bun (vermicelle with shrimp and salad). Delicious and fresh. I also thought the waitress was particularly nice and helped me understand what was in the various options.

Food was good but it a bit over price for a small bowl of pho and chicken fried rice. For pho has to add 3€ extra for the meatballs for the beef pho cost around 18€ already.

Do not recommend. We were all thirsty after bike riding to this restaurant, the waitress told us they don’t have tap water, charging us $9 euros for small bottles of water. Pho was small and overpriced. When we went to the counter to pay, we saw many carafes of tap water at the bar.

After a long weekend of poor dining experiences in Amsterdam, I thought that a nice bowl of pho would satisfy me before going home. I spoke too soon. One last weak meal instead. Skimpy on the garnishes. Small bowl of soup considering the high price. Slow service - no napkins given at any point.

Decor quite nice and personnel was friendly. My summer rolls were great, and the price was fair. But my family ordered the fried rice with chicken for 20 euros and the portion was tiny and there were pretty much no fresh vegetables in it -- very disappointing -- I have never seen such a high price for such a small portion of fried rice. I would certainly not return because of that. The waitress also told me that they have had this complaint many times. So then how come the portion is still so tiny?

Perfect pho bo - chewy rice noodles with sweet rice-y aftertaste, medium rare sliced beef tender and flavourful, broth isn’t too salty. Drip coffee with condensed milk is also 💯

A few days ago my friends and I ate at Hanoi Old Quarter and were highly impressed with the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the friendliness of the staff. Service was fast and attentive, our main waitress Rosie was very friendly and helpful! Having previously lived in Vietnam, I was surprised as to how authentic the dishes tasted and am looking forward to dining here again. Highly recommend to others looking for delicious Vietnamese cuisine!!

I waited there for more than half an hour just for a bowl of noodle soup on a not-so-busy Sunday night.

Watch out!! Even though I seated in The restaurant, They asked me to pay for my reservations before I even got my food. the guy seated outside next to me paid after he finished his meal. Some costumers that enter the restaurant asked if they have a reservation and some are not. The attitude is selective, insulting and not consistent. Food was fine but not worth bothering. If you are looking for a nice evening, Find another restaurant

In general everything is good. The dishes taste exactly like traditional dishes in Vietnam. Operation very smooth and correct. The double tables are a bit on the small side. Recommended!

If you are CRAVING pho, this place is salty and comforting. I am from a Vietnamese family and been to Vietnam and this is good pho- pricey at 20 euros though. The restaurant is nice.

«Snublet» over denne plassen. Helt tom restaurant så var spent på maten. Men det var uberettiget skepsis- maten var helt fantastisk! Godt utvalg av vegetar varianter, og kjøttet på kjøttmenyen var mørt og godt. Servicen var utmerket og personalet bryr seg om gjestene. Over halvparten av bordene er reservert for kvelden, så sikkert lurt å reservere bord om man skal spise sent. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake!

Had delicious authentic Hanoi pho! Unfortunately, a bit on the expensive side. But sometimes it's okay ;)

Pho-nomenal! Warm homely vibes and excellent food with very welcoming service with a big smile. I had the beef pho with red wine, carrots and herbs. Noodles are slightly thicker than I expected, but the soup was rich in flavour and the best part was the BEEF! Very generous thick slabs of beef, more than 2 of my palms combined and far thicker, and very tasty. The tendon was slow-cooked to melt-in-the-mouth perfection. I'm not usually a fan of beef but this was divine. Definitely worth a visit and next time I would love to try their spring rolls and authentic Vietnamese egg drop coffee!

A great restaurant with vietnamese food.

The soup was delicious. But I asked for a glass of water, and instead they sold me a small bottle of water for 4.5 euros (( I will not return here again.

Food was ok. The summer rolls were alright. My pho was very bland and didn't taste like much. Poor service. The waitress delivered the bill to our table over half an hour before their closing time while we were still eating. When we asked for a take away box they just said no without any further explanation and took the plates away before we were finished eating. They kept the entrance door open while it was 0 degrees outside and made us leave. It is very expensive for what you get and I'll definitely won't be back after such a treatment.

It was my third time at this place, and I liked the food very much as always (I will definitely come back). I would recommend trying the fried spring rolls, and the Pho soup, which can be ordered with several personalisation (the beef meatball which you can add is very tasty and sweet, also tender). The location is small and cozy and extremely close to the centre. A nice note is the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk which I found fresh and suitable for the dinner as a long drink. Very recommended.

Molto carino e autentico come locale, tanto che il cameriere ci ha spiegato che alcuni piatti del menu sono tanto particolari che non piacciono spesso agli occidentali. Il personale è stato molto gentile e disponibile nelle domande. Consiglio vivamente i fresh spring roll con i gamberi, il riso con il pollo, mentre attenzione perché nel pho il coriandolo predominava su qualunque altro sapore!

Food was tasty! A bit less sauces provided for our rolls and veggies for our Phos. The waiter was very helpful, but since they ran similar to a bar there was a lot of drunken loud folks disrupting the atmosphere. Food was increbly slow to arrive and we had dinner at 20 too.
